Out in the Samsonvale area looking for a location to place a cache, and I had a target today of this archived cache. I had previously found the others in the Barb series, and have tried here once before with no luck. Initially I was looking at completely the wrong level, but eventually i spied the cache whilst backtracking. The log book is in pretty good shape, as is the pencil provided. Thanks very much for creating this cache for the community enjoyment Whovian. Cheers

Added two more archived art caches to the search for today. This was a cute art piece. Thanks for the construction and placement.

We had a plan today to pick up as many well favourited caches as possible and if they included Wingaap placed caches then all the better. So off to the Crown at Dayboro and work our way home. We also were on a secret mission which should be successful.Well fancy finding a TAHDIS in the Samford Valley. And like the Doctor, agelee. Thanks for using your imagination to create a great series of caches. Thank you and with this log, I hope mission accomplished,

This was my target cache for today. Knowing there was still a couple of Wingaaps archived caches around i have been slowly making my way around to them. I recently met Barb and Ed at a first to find chase, i love meeting nice cachers and putting a face to their names. I mentioned that i was gradually finding these ones dedicated to her and Dr Who and now this is the last of those dedications. TFTC Wingaap. Shame they had to be archived but at least for now they live on.

Making a day of wingaap caches. Nabbed this one. My gps was sending me astray on this one and it was telling me I had to go up. I found a lovely nature stroll that took me through some gates and then I found a gate. I turned around and tried to ignore the gps.

When my daughter and I first started caching years ago, one of our first trips was along Mt Samson Road. I thought we had grabbed all the caches along this road because I clearly remember dodging cars at 100 km/h like we were playing Frogger.

My wife and I were out cleaning up some puzzles from the Mega and heading back towards Dayboro and the stars lined up for us to grab the cache. Normally when the stars all line up it means some sort of celestial doom is on the horizon. Today we vanquished the extraterrestrial menace and found a cache. tftc

The afternoon is fast disappearing but the position of this one still had plenty of light. I was a bit concerned about access at first but once I took note of the D/T ratings I was relieved and set about looking. Spotted it not quite where I was expecting when I approached but all was good and we signed the log.
Thanks for this series whovian.

TFTC. We had started the day with a Barb caches as we travelled the local roads after the Mega. WE were heading back to Dayboro stopping along the routes collecting more smilies. Very impressed by these hides

08-Apr-21
We made the decision to spend another week at the Dayboro showgrounds to give ourselves the opportunity to find more of the many caches that have been placed in the area. Finally the rain has nearly become non existent and bar for one short heavy burst it has been a rain free day. The area is still showing signs of all the rain we have had recently with the creek flowing fast and in places the roads are covered. We found all of the caches that we attempted today but one. Tftc whovian, wingaap sun out today and so are we. Path created by previous finder made this easier.

Dayboro Day, Final Day
Today we chose to retrace our tracks to look for caches we had passed previously
The finds were mostly along backroads. It's always good caching in the country.
This also included a drive to Lake Samsonvale to complete the AL
Thankyou wingaap for placing this cache.

Today with Day 3 of the Dayboro Mega event (final Easter weekend day), I returned back to Dayboro to attempt a solo yet full day of finding the various solved *Geosaurus* and *We* ?? *Geo* geoart, as well as any other interesting cache types. Time was spent south around Samsonvale, north-east around Mount Pleasant, and east around Rush Creek. The rain continued to fall, but it came in patches that still allowed some pleasant geocaching, yet somehow the rain knew when I was farthest from the car, for which it then fell heavily. I met a few more Geocachers during the day, and as I finally lost light, it was time for the final closing ceremony of the Mega, and an opportunity to get dry from the day's activities.

During my travels around the vicinity, I made a stop here, and followed a footprints trail that helped to locate the cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Whovian aka. wingaap for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. If help is required to maintain, then I'm happy to help in the future, or adopt if need be!

Found at 11:17:00 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
You need a variable D/T rating depending on the weather conditions. Today it was certainly not a D/T of 1.5/1.5 [B)]

#2314 - Commuting to the Qld Mega every day with gcraider. Having finished all the Lab Caches and attended a few interesting seminars it's now time to explore further afield.

We have solved all the "Horse" puzzle caches and will attempt to find a few in between showers if we can help it. On the way we pick up a few trads as well.

Apologies for the generic logs on these, but during a Mega there generally isn't enough time to write essays..... Finding caches and having fun is our main aim.

I found this cache as part of the Dayboro Mega Event. The GPS readings were jumping around today due to the weather. This cache took a while to find and also didn't know what we were looking for. Eventually found the cache by noticing some footprints from previous finders and looked at that spot. Found the cache well hidden and would be more difficult to find in low light. Thanks for the cache

Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.

Not the best day for caching due to the weather but we still had fun slipping n sliding.
Thanks for the cache.

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! ??

On a dismal and wet afternoon we worked out a caching run with ilook4geo which included a mix of traditional, challenge and puzzle caches. All containers were OK and each log was dry. Sometimes full caching names were used and sometimes it was just initials. Thanks go to the CO for placing this cache, which was a pleasure to find.

Dayboro trip. Day 9. The first full day of the Mega proper dawned and with it the formal opening was observed early in the morning. We then broke into team to spend th3e day caching, targeting the several geo-art series in the vicinity of Dayboro. I was joined by Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss. There were showers on and off all day, but the caching went well, with only a few small breaks when it was too wet. It was great to see all the caches in place and despite some of them being fun and tricky, the pre-mega puzzle solving effort was well rewarded.

Thanks.

24,101. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!

With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 4. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way This was the first stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks whovian !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.

After the Mega Opening Ceremony, we teamed up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! & Albida33, signing logs as MiNiFiGA's. Today was the day to put our puzzle solving hard work to the test. We did not let the persistent rain dampen our spirits, tackling the Horse, Pacman & part of the We <3 Geo Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Then ended the day with a Round 5 win in the Trivia Night.

All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

Signed today as MINIFIGA! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to tackle some counties, trails, oldies and interesting caches. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize. It was a wet day today but we still managed to grab a lot of caches as we navigated the rain and puddles.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. So wonderful to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.

Another great construction. I’ll pop a favourite point in this for the series in general Smile The silly standard maps show it in the middle of the road, which is certainly isn’t, and it didn’t take too long before we spotted the well-crafted container.

Another one on the way home from nearby work site.

This one GPS bounced a bit and had me searching both sides of road but I ignored horrible honeysuckle scent and persisted.

May notice I am jumping some. This is because steel cap work boots are not that great for hill scrambles.
