After doing a nice walk to Flagstaff Hill, we came to this spot. Interesting place. Thanks for showing us this spot.TFTCmagicchicken
Thanks for the cache & the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular view as well as learn something new. Like others, I couldn't locate the information sign, possibly due to construction or damage.
Well .... Unfortunately, I could not locate the information sign. There is construction on the town side of the path and no information sign to be found. I did find the gauge for measuring your catch though .I made the treck up to the very top of the stairs ... very slow going in the blaring sun and 32. And stopped at the suggested viewing spot too.Travelling at the moment and connection is sometimes spotty. I will investigate answers via online search over the next couple of days and email my answers once info is founf.Absolutely stunning view ... thank you so much for bringing me here
We continued today our tour of several AUS states in the NorthWest and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Earth-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The answers were sent. Thanks to Cicero14513 for the generation of this nice cache Batholith at Port Douglas (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. We stopped at Port Douglas for brunch on our day trip from Cairns to the Daintree. It was decided that we would take a quick walk at this lookout before venturing north. Thanks Cicero for the Earth Cache.
Thanks Cicero14513 for placing this earthcache. Find #10044 on 12/9/2024 at 5:20PMAnswers sent via email. I had trouble finding the sign but have made up for it in Research. I walked from the lighthouse to the beach. What a lovely place, thanks for bringing me here

The information sign is no longer there. But we tried to answer the questions as best we could. Thanks for my first Earth cache
Greetings from Wales Today was our last day in this beautiful place so we chose to be a bit lazy, longe by the pool in the morning and then amble around the headland this afternoon. We climbed up from the northern end and got to the view point before following the path back down to Four Mile Beach via the walkway. Stunning views all around but pretty windy on the headland and beach.I gathered the info for this earth cache although I think the info board has been removed as park of the ongoing redevelopment of the park, and the answers sent to the CO so thanks for setting this earth cache. Fave point.
Went along the track with ilook4geo and worked out our answers, which were sent to the CO. It was a good view from up a bit and there were lots of muggles enjoying the sights as well. Thanks for this earth cache go to Cicero14513.
Came to Port Douglas with goingplaces2 to see how other people holiday. Had to pick up a few caches while we were there, of course. Did some observations and learned about the batholith. TFTC.
On our recent trip to Cairns, Cooktown, and surrounding areas, this was one of several earthcaches we did. The location was beautiful, and the walk going up the stairs was very popular even though a lot of the area was closed off for refurbishment.Answers have been emailed as requested.Thank you, Cicero14513, for placing this great earthcache. It was lovely to see
Day two and it is another early start with a drive to Cooktown as our final destination for day two of our North Queensland geocaching trip. The four of us jumped into the Bluewattle geomobile and started the day's adventure. We had a list and a few extra caches that were solved to grab along the way, which made it to the list. It was very much an adventurous time as we travelled up and then along the Bloomfield track. It was a very scenic journey and one of amazement to see the devastation in the area. Having been here just a few years before and to see it now, was a shock. just goes to show mother nature is the ruler. We left Cairns headed up to Palm Cove, to Port Douglas, through Mossman, Wonga Beach, to Wujal Wujal and Cooktown. It was some of the best caching journeys I have had, with laughs and jokes and caching stories, just great company. All the caches that we found had the logs signed and the caches replaced as found, thanks for the placements. There was a nice earth cache to do, we did manage some of the answers and have sent off our answers to the cache.
On our adventurous trip to Cooktown with my Brisvagas buddiesEarly start to attack our list with a few extras thrown in for keep us on our toes Great trip full of laughter and banterAnswers have been sent separately

Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip through a big chunk of Australia with a campervan. We stop at various places to see as much of this beautiful country as we can. Today we visited Port Douglas where the sea and rainforests seem to meet. We had a nice swim in the sea and were very grateful not to see any box jellyfish or crocodiles. To embrace the summer- (or winter?) feeling we walkee barefooted in the sand towards this EC to learn something about the stones we are seeing. The listing is short but informative enough. Very interesting phenomena. We believe that the information sign is missing but we managed to find the answers to the questions anyhow. They are sent to the CO.TFTC!
Thanks for this lovely cache along the walking trail. We walked along the beach and then continued to Flagstaff hill. Beautiful! The answers are sent to the owner. It was fun looking closely at the rock around us. Many thanks for this nice earth cache! Its always nice to learn more about the nature surrounding us.
It would appear to me after a significant amount of looking that the Information Board has been removed, and so an exact answer to Question 4 is difficult to give! Answers have been sent to the CO which are hopefully satisfactory. TFTC Cicero14513
Did your Batholith at Port Douglas today. 8 June 2024 7:55 pm Tyfc Cicero14513 total caches now 6838 .

A late log as I have a few ECs to do and easier to log them at home. We visited this area on our first full day in Port Douglas during our weeks break in PD and Cairns. Came up here after checking out the market in town. Great views from the lookout and here. Answers are on the way to the CO. Thx greatly for the EC.

Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had a goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. Today started in Airlie Beach and ended in Townsville.I was enjoying my drive up the coast and seeing new places along the way. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. A very busy location and Four Mile Beach is a lot busier than I remember from our last visit about 12 years ago but still lovely.

Today we flew up here from Brisbane. Arrived early enough to amble our way from Cairns to Port Douglas, getting some caches along the way. Of course I didn't reach my goal, but I never do with Little Turmoils in tow.

Since we had the spare time, we did the detour on the way north through Port Doubles and do some shopping. Before heading back we checked out this location. As reported by others, the sign and parts of the fencing are gone. Nevertheless, I was able to answer all questions, making this my 101th Earthcache find and have sent all answers to the CO.
Hello again far north QLD! It is great to be again up North after some previous visits in the recent months. Of course this means getting a few more caches I am keen to grab since some time or that are simply in stunning locations. Thank you very much Cicero14513 for creating and placing Batholith at Port Douglas. It certainly was once again an amazing trip which brought me to great caches and vistas!

Interesting information on the batholith at Port Douglas. Sign not there but researched it online. Great views from the lookout. Lovely visit to Port Douglas and surrounding area
We started the day at the Wildlife Habitat then came to town. We hiked the trail around the south side up the hillside and down and finished at these interesting rocks. I looked them over to come up with some answers before we headed off to lunch.

Weather: not too hot, and only a little rain today. Perfect!

Did not find, though I found the location. It’s a bit hard without the information, and it’s too hot right now to bother with google (February ). Worth looking for at any rate.
Stayed here a few days to visit the reef and the rainforest before returning to the UK after a month in Australia, primarily to visit our son and see something of eastern Australia. Interesting cache that required a little research to complete, in the process discovered that four mile beach is only 4KM long and was named after a Mr. Fourmile and his family, amazing what you discover caching! TFTC from the UK.
On the way to Port Douglas, we were actually chatting about what sort of rocks these where along the road.
When we arrived I looked at this EC and it answered our question completely!
Excellent information in the EarthCache!
Thanks for making it!

Crystal Warrior and I were having a day out from a cruise ship. We did not have much time but did find 2 caches. This started us out on our walk, We did see some silly people where they should not be but that said we stuck to the path to collect our info. Hopefully all is ok... answers sent to CO and another nice EC completed while on a walk. Thanks Cicero14513
Thanks for this cache, interesting geological formation. No board present but iTools Stan at it anyway.
I am from the UK and visiting Port Douglas for a wedding. I live in an area of red-purple basalt and there are similarities between the geologies of the two areas. I explored the clifftop path as part of an early morning run before returning later in the week to obtain information to answer the questions posed.

We had a great day in Port Douglas. When we arrived, the area was a hive of activity with a carnival happening along the beach and in the first street that runs parallel to the beach.
There were many kites flying in the sky, and being a weekend, the place was full.
We walked to this earth cache, and today, needed to park almost a kilometre away. It was sunny and the walk was beautiful as we made our way to GZ.
we sat and pondered about all the batholith.
We did a bit of googling, and read some more.
We have sent our answers to the CO.

Still catching up on logging so apologies. Geoturtle37 and I have extended our trip for a lot longer than it was planned and this is one of the many subsequent caches found.
Earthcaches were not high on our list to do until recent times. Having someone that can explain what you are looking at travelling with you definitely helps. Lovely location.

Hadn't realised just how far behind in our logging we were so making a concerted effort to catch up before the dates from last year meet the dates of this year.
This was a really beautiful area that we may have otherwise missed had it not been for caching. It was only as we were leaving, after I had taken numerous photos, that we remembered why we were here.
Thank you for placing this cache for us to enjoy.

Up in Cairns for the long weekend to play in a Masters (definitely not Hasbeens) soccer carnival. With that done and dusted it was time to hit the tourist trail and after Kuranda this morning we ventured further north to pick up this LGA.
