Cache has seen better days nice stroll tho

12-Oct-24
Took us awhile to figure out which of the signs we needed to look at. Didnt take us long to figure out what the objects were going to be and a quick find at GZ made for a pleasant stroll. TFTC.

I was strolling the neighbourhood and saw this funny counting puzzle.Arrived where I needed to be and strolled off to where I was told to go.The cache was soon found in its hidey hole.Signed the mank log as best I could. A fun and easy mystery to unravel.Thank you for the mystery cache!

In the city for a soccer match at Allianz Stadium. Parked at the tennis courts and walked in. Waiting for the traffic lights to change, I noticed we were at the posted coordinates for this Mystery cache. A quick check of the required task and a short detour to make the find. This cache will need maintenance. TFTC

Definitely has seen better days. Just glad I found it. TFTC

Had my eye on this cache ever since I enrolled at the school across the road (and I am now graduated yikes). Lid is messed up and cache could use some care, but still alrightTFTC

Quick find here in amongst the traffic, cache is all good

Today being in Sydney with not a lot to do I decided to head over to Moore park and find a few caches around the area before heading into the city to find a few caches that were new. Nearly 20 find for the day.

Thanks for the cache

No luck with this one. I am hoping I had the right coordinates for the final. Not many places to search where I was.

TFTC from the Kayakviking!
Found after a lively walk. Added some extra locally found paper to enhance the log as had nothing formal with me. Could do with a little love and attention. Cheers

I had solved this puzzle using Google street view prior to leaving home, so decided to include it in our morning bike around Centennial Park and the SCG. I must have done my numbering correctly because we found the cache exactly where expected.
We signed the temporary log book (a piece of newspaper) then carried on to SGC. TFTC.

#22548. We decided a spot of cyclo-caching in the Centennial Park area would make for a nice morning out. It was a bit of a side trip to get to this one, and a quick find once at GZ. TFTC.

19-Jan-23
Found it, but unable to sign log as the container lid is damaged and there are a couple of resident slugs and a whole lot of dirt in there
CO will need to give it some love

Had the clue stored for a while but don't walk this stretch too often. Nonetheless had just found the SELR cache up the road and so tried my luck here given I still had some time.

Quick search at GZ and cache was found, great csche to do at eve - not many nosey muggles and shadows provide some good cover.

As previously noted, needs a new lid but log is still in decent condition. SL below PPE

Thanks!

Out with Baktrak for a rainy Sutherland nocturnal invasion. This has been on my to do list for years so very fortunate to get a chance on a quiet night to find nearby parking and have an undisturbed search. After collecting the clue and plotting an attack our search revealed nothing. A check of previous logs revealed a key word that although my colleague did not recognise, I recognised straight away - my 2nd favourite GotG character, next to Gamora.
Recognised the tell-tale signs of a hide quickly and completed the duties. The container lid has deteriorated and need s replacement however surprisingly the log sheet was in good order.

I think I’ve had the right GZ for years but only figured out how the camo worked today. The puzzle was straightforward enough, but what a nice hide!

A morning run and made my way here. Great cache idea. Counted the wrong things as I think other have. Yes needs a new lid.

Thanks to jayden.streatfeild for the placement and fun.

Out for a lunchtime walk and decided to extend a bit and head over to this one. Got the info easy easy...but did i choose the right ‘thing’?? Surely did! quick find and TFTc.

A nice little field puzzle, on my way to a Sunday job.

Container lid has completely disintegrated, barely staying on.
Probably needs a maintenance check, but since the CO hasn’t been active since 2019, I’m wary of posting a maintenance log, perhaps the next finder might bring a replacement container...

Tftc.

Sadly the Swans were beaten by the Giants by 2 points in the final moments of the game. While waiting for the carpark to clear I came and found this clever hide. A previous finder noted the lid is broken - yet it was somehow dry inside. I replaced as found. TFTC.

jayden.streatfeild I found your cache Number ......... on 18/1/21, 2:30 pm. This is my find 2936 and find # 5 today. Found the sign, did the maths and walked away counting in my head. At GZ it was a quick and easy find. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

An early start to get some caches before my Christmas lunch appointment in the City.
After parking at Moore park I walked over to the intersection and found the clue. Of course I in the wrong direction and did not find any cache. Checking the previous logs I noticed something that made me realise I should have walked the other direction.
After counting for the second time, the cache was quickly found.

And here we are. It is 2022, and after moving my life half the world away to Australia, discovering that Geocaching there without my friends was not as fun, generally trying to survive Australian fauna and flora and finding a job, only doing Geocaching on occasion during 2019, and then the pandemic hitting in 2020 and putting almost a complete halt to all traveling and finding, plus finally coming back to Europe to try and redo my life here this year… I have decided to sit down and log online all of the records I had gathered offline during these years. Some are lost forever (don’t trust your phone for years on end with offline logs), but hopefully I will manage to recover enough logs to paint a few broad strokes of what these years were, and the places they took me to.
Apologies in advance to all owners for this (in some cases, very) delayed logging. I can only say that sometimes we are not in the best place, and it takes time to find oneself. Thanks in advance for the hides, the places you took me to, and the stories you shared in the way.

On a Saturday, we decide to explore this area a bit and end up solving and signing this one.

Drove to Sydney this morning for a run in Centennial Park. As I was lucky to get a good parking spot there I left the car after running and went for a walk to cool down and grab some nearby caches. Here did the counting correct but the "things" wrong initially, but soon re3 counted and found the cache. I like a field puzzle like this.

I came, I saw, I counted, I cached! For once I read ALL the instructions so had the correct number and walked in the correct direction. Decided quickly what the objects to count would be and arrived at GZ to have CIH immediately in first place I checked. The cap is loose but all dry inside for now. TFTC

22-Jan-19
Got to the WP and noticed a number of possible sign choices. Read the description again and had a count! But of what?
Hmmmm.
Made a guess and began my walk. A short hunt at what my count lead me to and the cache was revealed!
Thanks!

20-Jan-19
Always make sure you fully read the description before starting. Counted wrong and walked way to far before re -reading the description and realising my mistake.

05-Jan-19
Up from Melbourne for the Test against India, I spotted this one not too far away from the ground. The cricket had been fairly boring, so I ventured out for a search.

Arriving at the sign, I did some counting, but first headed in the wrong direction. Thankfully, I quickly realised my mistake and saw what I needed to count. A little walk had me at GZ and I made the find quickly.

What a great idea! I cannot believe this has had no favourites after so many years, so I am adding one here, as I really enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks, jayden.streatfeild.

Been meaning to get this one for a while but I'm always scooting off to Centennial as quickly as possible. Today I had a bit of time between laps on the bike round centennial and going to the athletics track over the way.

Log book had signatures in it from 2014, now that's a well lasting cache. Tftc

We'd come to town to see the Real Bodies Exhibition in Moore Park. This is the fourth such exhibition I have seen around the world (London, New York and Cape Town), though I'm still not sure I've seen the original one by Dr Günther von Hagens. Despite being familiar with the plastination process and having seen and studied lots of specimens at university over the years, it's still an awesome experience seeing the human body like this.

But that's got nothing to do with the caching for today, except that it brought me to this area and I saw that there was a cache close enough to pick up before we caught the bus back home.

I think I didn't quite read the instructions carefully, because I saw the wrong sign and counted the wrong letters. Fortunately, it was an error with a magnitude of only one, and I correctly guessed what I would be counting. My good spouse and son decided to count something else as a back-up.

Thus, getting to my presumed GZ and having a look around, I didn't turn up anything resembling a container. The next option was to go either for the ellipsis method, which seemed the logical way, or to see whether my wife had a solution to our conundrum.

I opted to increase my count by one, and thought it might even match the hint a bit. A first inspection didn't turn up the goods, but a full circle brought me to where I needed to be to make the find. Easy grab and sign, and while the coast was clear, I could also return everything and replace the camo.

All done in good time, which worked out just perfectly for us to get to the other side of the road and catch our bus which arrived a minute after we did.

In town on ANZAC day to watch the annual Roosters v Dragons clash. Went for a bit of a walk before meeting friends for lunch to grab a cache or three. I lived well within walking distance of this one in my younger days and so this puzzle has intrigued me for quite some time. Had a chance to solve it today and happy to say that I counted the right thing.

Nice easy find on a lovely sunny Sydney day...didn't even get muggled which was amazing on a Sunday afternoon with a big event at Moore Park. Cache lid very damaged...doubt is still watertight but log is OK for signing. Tried to repair but didn't have the right bits with me. TNLSSL...TFTC. Btw...I also have NO idea how the hint is meant to help!

Off to the footy tonight at the SCG. Picked up a 2TF on a new one nearby and being quite early I secured my seat got a pass out and had a crack at this one also nearby. No problem with puzzle, bright lights from the nearby tram line construction assisted and I soon had CIH. Did the necessary and replaced as found. Loads of crap in this one. TFTC #367

After a massive concert at the Hordern Pavillion and a huge day of geocaching beforehand it was now creeping up to midngiht and I had to work out how to catch 3 different buses and make my way back to my extended family's house.

This area is SO bare of caches which is a bit surprising. Unsure why as there are lots of potential hides and areas around the surrounding suburbs! Oh well the bus was coming in 12 mins so I had time to grab this one and only cache.

I had already done my homework at home and figured out how to find the cache and had a good hunch of what needed counting. So I walked over, started counting, and there was the cache! The 2nd place I looked Big Grin

It really does pay to have done research and planning before finding a cache like this!

Thanks!

Finally i looked in the obvious spot and there it was.

29-Nov-16
Stopped off on my way home from work today to have a look at this one. Parked the geomobile on South Dowling Street, then walked the 500 odd metres or so through the park and across Anzac Parade to arrive at the location of the posted coords.

Quickly spotted what I needed here and, after completing the challenging maths equation Smile, went off "counting" my way along the path. Soon arrived at the correct one and, after a quick look in a few likely hidey holes, ended up with CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.

Rodents, probably rats, appear to have been munching on the cache container's lid, but it still screws on OK albeit being a little less water tight than when it was originally placed. TFTC jayden.streatfeild.

I was seeing a movie with the GeoWife and the Entertainment Quarter, and was planning on catching a bus back to the city, so I knew I would at least be passing the provided co-ords. Reading the description before the movie started, I thought for certain I'd find ambiguity in this cache as at least one other GeoCacher had - after all I am an expert at doing that. Noted with relief that a friend had found it earlier, and sent a text asking whether to head NSEW. He replied South, and as a bonus told me what to count Smile

Anyway, at the provided co-ords, all was clear enough, included the logical South direction. Soon enough I had my name in the log.

02-Oct-16
haha! As I log this one, I see that there is a clue to the number and you don't actually have to do any working out. That being said, You have to start at the initial GZ and do the counting anyway. Are these the kinds of trees that have made the news recently? TFTC

18-Aug-16
Found it!! Had to be stealthy as lots of people are the volleyball courts.

19-Jul-16
Seriously confusing cache description , I hope CO can update it or something , the sentence
*"pointing along the bike path towards Alison road. this is the direction in which you will need to go."*
is really conflicting as these Allison road is **NOT** the same as where the sign is pointing , wasted lots of time backtracking and still wondering whether we were on the right direction or not , in the end gave up after close to an hour of searching

Having bought ticket to the movies at Moore Park Entertainment Centre, we had some time to spare so we went for this cache. Walked to the crossing where we found the sign, made the calculation and off we went. A nice walk down the road to the calculated number, where the cache was found, log signed and replaced.

11-Jun-16
A nice easy find on a lovely sunny Sydney afternoon. An awesome spot to hide the cache, especially considering the surroundings! The first cache I've found in Sydney, despite the fact that I've been living here for five months. TFTC!

21-Apr-16
The trees along here are magnificent! The road was also very busy. Fortunately the path was fairly quiet. Made a quick grab of the cache and took it for a short walk and hid behind one of these trees away from GZ. As I signed the log I noticed a passing cyclist giving me a greasy look as if thinking I was up to no good. Waited for walking muggle to pass before returning the cache to its hide while lamina provided some cover. TFTC

We needed a puzzle cache for our Road Trip and as this is the closest one to home we decided to give it a go. With the inormation collected at WP1 it was off for a stroll along the path. With so may differnt object to count, Mr Ozjeepr kept a tally of each and as we approached number "x" for one of them the location seemed to fit the container size and the found was immediately made.
