Passing by so called in for a check. Found damaged cache as placed by previous finder (thank you).New container now with original log which was okay. New location - Corner of smaller building, stump & held with rock. New coords S40 48.193 E172 44.857. Cache page will be updated shortly. We are one of **Bum's Workers**
Found the cache out in the open and container is broken and log wet. Have dried it as best I could and tried to rehide with a piece of wood I found. Cabbage trees are long gone.
Our last of the day.I have been here twice over the years and could not find this one.In the end, RG72 found it out in the open and a little brittle. Its hard to know where this should go to match the hint, as I suspect much of the hint item has had the chop, so the hint isnt as relevant anymore. But we put some natural camo over it and hopefully the next visitor can find it too. TFTC B&W.Easter Sunday, and we had loose plans while heading out toward Collingwood. On the way, we wanted to do the Aorere Goldfields loop walk up to Druggan Dam, an Ad Lab out at Collingwood, visit the Mussel Inn in the afternoon, and pop over to Wharariki Beach. We achieved all of these except the last one, as that was a bit of a bridge too far and we had run out of time. There will be another day. But all up we got a good handful of caches and visited some places neither of us had been to before. And that is what geocaching is about, so that is a success. Thanks all COs. Some photos from our day added.
Located with Ricardinho Our last find of the day. We've been to this location twice & today we had success. I found the cache lying on the ground near GZ, so we put it in a location nearby & covered with natural camo. The hint on the cache page didn't really make sense, so I think things have changed since it was originally put out. Day 3 of our Goldenbay Getaway & today we are off to explore the Aorere Goldfields, hike to Druggans Dam & the Cathedral Cave & finish up in Collingwood. We did have Wharariki on the agenda for today but we just ran out of time. Another fabulous day in paradise TFTC
I have my collection of pens with me (30 plus) just to make sure I always have one -on our trip in June I was often without one! Found on the way back from Cape Farewell.I am back to being a late logger -grr. Apologies.Day 1 of The Wellingtonians are back tour with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find, we decided we had to return. And, of course, there will be days of laughter, usually at my expense .During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache bumandworker.
(# 8134) Day 1 of a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. A day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY.
Thanks bumandworker for bringing me here.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.
Day one of this trip took us all the way out to Cape Farewell and then back to Tākaka. We stopped at many caches along the way, and this was one of them.
Most of our find here we signed the log with the collective name of N.M.T.Y to represent the four of us: NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ.
---
Thanks to bumandworker for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Hunted around for the hint item but that seems to be long gone. Eventually spotted due to a hint in a previous log. Took under some shelter to sign but as the log was past using, got a new one and new bag from the car. All good to go for a while now. tftc

Lovely day in the bay. Good cache despite paper being too waterlogged to to write on.
I was completely confused by the hint (what else is new?). Everything seemed to fit or completely not fit the hint. After a while, I just spotted it in a completely unexpected location. TFTC.
Put in new write of rain logbook.
I am being taxi Mum for my son and daughter in law for the Heaphy Track and finding a few geocaches. Today's pick up day. I have until 2pm to geocache until my heart's content. I stayed in Takaka today and will drive over the hill with the kids to Nelson. Thanks bumandworker for creating this hide. It was find 9682 for me.

Day 7 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
After my huge drive of yesterday, I had planned today to be a bit more leisurely. I was delighted to be at Farewell Spit as it's a place I have long wanted to visit, so I had spent the previous night here in my campervan parked (not on the DOC reserve) on the side of the road as close to the beach as was allowed to make an early start on my caching for the day.
A quick and easy find here today at the base of the only vegetation left uncut at GZ. No issues with this cache, so I took care of the usual caching admin before everything was replaced as found and walking back to where I had parked the camper.
Thanks for placing this cache.

I was now on my way back for lunch.
Cheers for the cache.

Not sure about cabbages, as the hide was between pungas and punga debris, but coordinates are spot on.
I think exuberant growth has taken place since the hint was written! But I peeped into where the GPS was indicating and there was the container! TFTC
I think a long time since those courts were used. All looking a bit sad and deserted now. Cache found by Tim here.

All quiet here today after a wet day yesterday. Unfortunately I don't think any tennis has been played here for quite some time. Thanks for the cache bumandworker
Looks like this hall has stood the test of time and us still used ..fairly isolated out here ..but peaceful thanks B&W for the cache
Up from CHCH visiting family in Richmond...and now a couple days in Golden Bay for some exploring. Settled in at the Golden Bay camp ground; sweet place.
Spent the day out at Farewell Spit & Wharariki beach..and the afternoon swimming in the warm sea beside our campground. After tea time for a wander around Patons Rock.....Early evening and still warm, but time to head back to our cabin at the nearby holiday park - time for one more cache, and the last of the day, before putting the boys to bed. Cheers.

Returning to our Christmas back from Takaka, I plumped for a simple cache or two as I had a few minutes to spare.
Those spare minutes were quickly used up as a performed a few loops trying to get the GPS to settle.
On my third lap - thankfully no tennis being played - I spotted the hint object and was then in for a quick find.
Until now, I'd always thought this was a former hall converted to a private residence. Thankfully not.
Thanks for the hide.

Another quick drive by in our way back from a day out walking to Kaituna forks. A chance to check out the fruit stall next door as well. TFTC.
This weekend us capperz are over the hill to Golden Bay and celebrating. It's our wedding anniversary on Friday followed by my 50th birthday on the Saturday. So we looked around for a decent place to go for the weekend and the potential of this beautiful area won out (this time). Only grabbed the one cache on the Friday night (there was much drizzly rain and poor visibility) trip over the hill(s) so there was much anticipation for what was next. Both the Saturday of my half-century milestone and the Sunday were bathed in golden sunshine and the temperature was perfect; neither too hot nor too cold.
Another small drive down the road, and another b&w cache. And another find, nice. Replaced as found and on we go

Headed into Takaka to meet up with some friends. Cachelet #2 stopped by for a quick cache to kick of the day... actually it was the only one for the day. Oh well, still better than none!

The GPS didn't want to settle here so in the end we just wandered about until we found the hint item then it was short work to be signing the log.
Thank you bumandworker.

GPS acted as if in the Bermuda Triangle so we consulted the hint. A casual wander and before we knew it we were signing the log. Thank you bumandworker
Came over the hill from Mot today to pick up a few caches. Hoped for a swim too as it was a hot day but the wind was blowing hard at the coast.
Found the memorial hall but the coords seemed a bit off. We thought where would we hide it ? And yes, it was there.

After all the stormy weather yesterday we didnt really know what to do with ourselves today but we needed to get at least one cache to keep our streak alive so after popping into Takaka for the morning we stopped at this one briefly on our way back to our accommodation. Found quickly but we were seen looking in the wrong place at first by a man who seemed to be moving a while bunch of sheep. He didnt say anything to us so perhaps he knew about the cache? Thanks for the hide!
NZDi and I have been planning a long weekend in Golden Bay for a month or so and today these plans came into fruition. Of course a long weekend out of town would not be complete without the odd cache thrown in and so a few caches were planned along the way. The weather back in Blenheim had been crap all week and the forecast for the weekend was not that flash either, however as soon as we got across the Whangamoa's we could see this part of the country was bathed in sunshine.
This is day two of our Golden Bay geocaching weekend, and todays efforts are concentrated on the caches around Wharariki, Cape Farewell and Farewell Spit. After getting Wharariki Walk we looked for other nearby caches that I had seen when planning this trip. It looks like I didn't set my radius far enough when creating my pocket query and the search missed four caches at Wharariki, Cape Farewell and Pillar Point (although I didn't know this until I got back into cell phone reception). We decided to head back to Puponga where we last had reception so we could save the missing caches on my mobile app.
After getting the four missing caches, it was time to head back to our accommodation at Tata Beach. On the trip back we picked up a few QEF PnGs, this was the seventh and final cache of the day. No tennis being played just before dusk on a Friday evening

Found during our road trip From Nelson to the wild west and return. Great day's caching was had.
Game, set and match - nothing doing on that front t the time of our visit. Left the coast clear for what we sought.
Cache find was straightforward.
Log signed. Cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Easter Sunday, and day #3 of our 4 day long weekend trip to Golden Bay.
We had failed to find this cache last year not long after it had been replaced, even though we had widened our search. Turned out we had not noticed this particular hint object, which the new co-ords took us straight to. Easy find this time!
Thanks for the maintenance and for the cache.

All quiet at GZ today. Hint description is very accurate.
Found over Waitangi Weekend in Golden Bay. A great spot for caching.

On a geocaching holiday with tmann421. Exploring the area, lots of amazing places, views and caches. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable holiday.
Little bit of a search as we narrowed down the hint item which made sense once we found it.

Not a muggle in sight so it was easy to stroll around and seek out the cache. it was found by hint rather that the coordinates, which seem a little out, good hide though. TFTC

My grandmother taught here many many years ago. She would travel here on the steamer Lady Barkly because that's what one did in those days. It was really time I stopped here to take a look. Thanks!
whew and hmm......will leave this on the bookmark list (see link on cache) and take another GPS reading when passing.
Id been up the Cobb early this morning, after a snooze to recharge the batteries we headed into to town for some supplies then headed to Patons Rock for lunch and a stroll on the beach. On the way back we stopped off here, I was pretty sure we were going to leave empty handed, when Alastair said " over there mate" it matches the hint. My GPS was taking me about 18 metres to go but it sure was there. Signed the nice fresh logsheet and left with a simile and a smile. TFTC
We gave this one a good go, but had no luck. It's on the main road, so we'll have another look next time we are over.

This was bypassed on the way to Collingwood as it was on the other side of the road. This proved ironic as on return Mrs SoBad chose 2 different ways to get to GZ - and then a third on which actually got her there. Then it was a quick find.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Quite a bit of activity in the hall according to the number of vehicles parked up and the thumping noise from the floorboards on the way past earlier. All quiet for a quick grab on the way back a couple of hours later. TFTC #5162
