Logs
Broke my pen trying to extract vessel which didn't matter as log way to sodden for logging. Easy park and grab tho thanks
Yay nice and easy, water damage to the log though will need a new paper, possibly a new seal
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we had been staying near Okaihau, in Nothland we went for a wander around the local area to see what we could see found a cache or two this ended up being an easy find, log signed & cache easily replaced pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,939 for us!
Day 3 of our Northland road trip and we biked the west side of the TCCT. A strong head wind so we hired e-bikes and had a great day - picking up quite a few caches but had to miss some out because of time constraints. Lovely piece of history here, thanks for the placement
Located this nice and quick, log a bit damp but still able to get our names on it. Next was a wander through the graves reading the names and contemplating their circumstances. TFTC!
Was visiting in Okaihau....so did some caching too.Nice quick find here thanks.
After attending an event in Paihia at lunchtime, Lis's Crew & I went for a drive to Kaikohe to get a few FTFs. On our way we stopped to get a few caches I hadnt found and stopped by to get this cache. Quick find at GZ but log was saturated so added a piece of waterproof paper. What a beautiful little church. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC.
Quick find today and cache in perfect condition ready for the next finder. Thank you for bringing me here to find your cache
Raining again! Really interesting to see Okaihau after reading the history of the first northern war.
Took shelter from a heavy shower while out cycling. Have noticed a lot of cute little churches out here, and this one has a great little cache too. Tftc
This cache seems to go missing often, there isn't much scope for hiding it out of sight, other than to cover well with natural foliage. I had replaced and advised the CO.
No I could not locate the cache in this very old, 60+ yo camelia tree. Many of my late husband's, Mackereth family, ancestors are buried here. My eldest son was christianed here in 1970. My appreciation goes to the locals who over the years have worked hard to not only keep this Church from being sold off but still today maintain the splendor of the headstones collectively.
Couldn’t find this either like last few so replaced. Little pill bottle - nice to see new growth…
Me and my brothers went to find the geocach. And the geocach was a note about a church.
Sorry,it wasn’t a note about the church, it was a log with other people’s names that found it.it was my brother who told me it was note about the church. There was really nothing in the canister just the log.
Labour Weekend - Sunday. With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... This long weekend has come at the right time for us. We are using the extra day to get a jump on the TMGT. Our plans morphed once we cleared the Auckland TMGTs yesterday. Now logic made us look at Northland - It’s easier to drive from Auckland than the Bay of Plenty... Overnighted in Kawakawa.
We have good memories of a holiday we took with friends in Okaihau - That was nearly 40 years ago. We remember walking past this church on the way home from the shops... Who would guess we’d be stopping in to find a cache today. This was a quick find and sign on a Sunday - Must be too early for church... Thanks Toastice and TFTC.

Tidy church. I read the information panel across the road and learnt some history of the area. Bigger Maori presence in thus region than further south.
Found 2.45pm
Visited here over a year ago but there was several people gathered at the church. This time just me and there was only one of the hint.Cache all good. SLTFTC

Checked out the info board here before checking out the cache. Love info boards. Cache tagged. Unfortunately we could not check out the church as this one is locked.
Merry Christmas - day eleven - Kaikohe area with The team back together again. We leave Zara in Kaikohe for a well earned break and head out in Toby for the day. So lets go exploring!
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Read the signboard outside before hunting for the cache. Tried to have a look inside but this church is locked. Says quite a bit about the locals. Unlike the churches around the hokiana, which, not only are not locked, do not even have locks; which also says quite alot about their locals.
Day eleven of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Christmas Day! Caching around Kaikohe. Is that the town's name? The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

McJandals and I are doing the second half of the Twin Coast cycleway today.
Quaint wee church.

On A road trip with Dee+ME from Tauranga. Have been having a poke around here and there and been taken to some great places, many thanks to all you COs for your placements. Today we are cycling from Kaikohe to Horeke and caching along the way. It’s an absolute stunner of a day. Cheers
Found this one on our walk along the street while staying at the freecamp site.
TFTC nicely hidden cache paid respect to the Whare Karakia and Tupuna and carried on my little journey
TFTC... nicely camo'ed and hidden cache and 2nd for the day. First to sign new log so plenty room to sign.
I remember coming here for art projects when I attended Okaihau College during School Cert year

Cache has been replaced. It's a camo pill bottle covered by natural foliage in hint item.
Up north for a sporting event and once that was completed, it was off on a caching mission around the Okaihau area.
Called in to this neat old church and it didn't take long to locate what was left of the cache. The lid and log sheet were missing, so took a photo as proof of find, which I can send to the CO if required. TFTC

Top of cap broken off so log exposed. Sorry, didn't have a suitable replacement.
Unfortunately there was someone sitting in his car, listening to the races on his radio, right outside the Church - it wasn't possible to be discrete, so I left this cache for another occasion.
Yebo toastice
And out again in northland, it's really interesting to brows the different roads- got lots of new Images and a wee bit of better understanding

I love the churches in Northland and this one was an easy find

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.
Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to cache our way back to Whangarei (and home), while picking up as many caches that fill spaces in challenges we are working on. We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges this weekend...
Did not attempt this one, as churchgoers were congregating mere metres from the suggested ground zone.

Found it but forgot a pen so today without sign..before me DiMorgan 1st November. Thanks for cache.
Whangarei to Kaikohe

Went to Cape Reinga for the day and decided to stop and do a few caches on our way back to Paihia. Nice quick find and the back in the car before the next rain shower hit. Very windy today but still good to get out. TFTC
Cycling along the Kaikohe to Horeke track today enjoying the variety of views and tracks to ride. We tried and tried but couldn't get the cache out of itshidey hole so couldn't sign the log itself. I have a photo of GZ if you would like extra proof....let me know. Thanks for the hide in this lovely place
Just started up my Geocaching account and was going back to find ones I had found previously with another cacher. I had a bit of trouble retrieving it as it was jammed in quite tight. TFTC
We loaded up the bikes to ride the Okaihau - Kaikohe rail trail and took the windy back road from our accommodation in Oruru Rd (near Taipa) to SH1 then on to Okaihau. A great day out, with over 20 caches found but which was marred by my Oregon's screen cracking .
We left this cache for the return journey as the parking looked better. There was a family of turkeys taking a stroll on the bike trail as we drew up. StreetWalker tried to take a photo of them, but they were camera shy.
Didn't take long to track down the cache. A lovely wee church, thanks for bringing me here. TFTC.

I neat little church but the history of the battle ground site across the road was far more intriguing. Tftc.
We came to Okaihau for some caches and walking around. Rainy weather led us to the village café and the best coffee, cappuccino and latte we had in NZ until this day. Thanks.
(1528) Had a road trip to the mid North today to collect a few caches. Great area with lots of history. TFTC
On a mission this weekend with Cats&Dragons, with a the main goals of reaching Cape Reinga to find the Virtual caches up there and the 35 and 36 degree South challenges, plus with anything else in between. We had a great time touring around Northland, and it is a pretty spectacular place. Being from Southern Northland, it has reminded me that I need to visit this place more.
The initial plan was to head up the west coast and on to Ninety Mile Beach (which was a huge highlight of the trip) and then down the east coast, but the plan was flexible depending on progress. We mostly achieved our ambitious plan, but due to time restraints had to cut back a bit from the planned list. If we had another day I think we would of achieved most of what we had planned.
Some of the figures for the trip were, 1600km's travelled in a 48 hour period, 37 hours of caching, 4 hours of sleep, and 7 hours driving up from Hamilton and back, with a total of 176 caches found!!
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and showing us around Northland.

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.
The result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. Thanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.
Now its fully dark time so will be interesting to see how long we last as the previous night we only got 1.5hours sleep
Thanks for the placement

I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 for a weekend of caching around Northland. After meeting early in Whangarei and driving to Kaikohe to grab some lunch, we then headed up to Okaihau and took the Horeke Road to find the caches along there, before joining back on to SH1 to head to Kaitaia. Despite its size, we quickly spotted the cache at GZ. TFTC!

I am unashamadley after numbers at the moment so a trip to Northland with Vistra was planned, Saturday up to the Cape staying in Kaitaia then heading to Paihia for a late lunch event.
This was a very historic street, thanks for bringing us down here, Quick find, but more luck as i walked straight up to it and the correct angle. TFTC

A little trickier than first imagined but found neverthelessSL,TFTC. ps, the history lesson across the road was interesting too
I think that was a neat little hide! It took me several minutes to locate it, I was expecting something else...
