Sadly we have moved out of the area and are unable to maintain this GC. Who knows; something controversial may pop up somewhere else in time...
Cute wee hiding place .
I let nette1234 get down for this while I watched out for passing cyclists....

Found on a belated Xmas break with extended family. Waka ama sprint champs on at lake course, so searched with an eye out for spectators and cyclists. Quick find, all good in cache. Tftc!
#8952. I had been up in Auckland for the past week visiting family. Now heading back south again to Wellington but will divert via Tauranga and Rotorua to pick up a few geocaches. I haven't been down to Lake Karapiro for some time and decided to find some of the caches in this area. The parking options in this area are a bit limited due to yellow lines. But I managed to sneak into a nearby accessway and park the car and quickly walk across the road to GZ. Read the hint and soon realised where the cache would be hidden. Didn't take long to get it in hand. But no sooner had I done so than some muggles came along the path so I had to rehide while admiring the view. Then popped it out again. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks crusaderwoman and Bloos Boy for hiding it here. If a handrail on a track is controversial there can't be too many problems to worry about in the Waikato.
missed this one 4 years ago, today I parked up about 1km up the road and walked down the path in the rain, no muggles today
Called here this afternoon for a fairly quick find. As others have said the logbook is saturated with water and badly needs replacing. TFTC.
Nice day for a walk. It was hard to find it but eventually found it. The log book was wet and needs replacing. Thx for the cache!
Day 1 of our Cambridge visit.
Out cycling this trail and finding some caches.
The cache was full of water and the outer pages of the log book were soaked.
Still writable further inside.
Enjoying the views along the lake and rubber necking at the flash houses.

The kids and I are traveling north for the day stopping to get caches along the way. Quick find here although cache is very wet inside. Log book could need replacing. Tftc
Heading home after a few nights tenting at Lake Karapiro. After 2 DNF's at the nearby Waipuke Park we were in need of an easy park n grab for our daily cache. No problems here. Hide quickly found and log signed. Container a little wet but otherwise all good. TFTC
A nice quick find here while watching the rowing races. Cache was very wet so we sat it in the sun for a while. TFTC
I went down and did a bit of house-keeping today. The view was getting blocked by tall timber which was shortened considerably and the area was sanitised; give-away footprints gone, prickles gone and no longer any signs of muggles who might have stopped to admire the view...
9.30am. Able to park across the road for a quick pick up and sign. All good here.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
This morning was a beautiful and peaceful time to go caching at this Lake.
There were several rowing teams out practicing at 8am but they never came close and no other walkers passed by, however the road was busy, so I had to pick a quiet moment before dropping out of sight to retrieve and sign the cache.
TNLNSL, +FP for bringing me here! Thanks BloosBoy & CrusaderWoman

#823 - On a Mission with Taschynz to get as many caches as we can in the Karapiro Cambridge area. This was stop number 3 - Parked across the road and walked over to grab this one. Looked in the wrong spot initially, then we spotted a geo-trail TFTC.
Found on a day of caching with katbowersnz. No. 3 and a great hide. a bit of a hunt, but with a bit of searching further we soon were signing our names.
Found with CreasyBear, who got savaged by thorns. So beware! TFTC. Very hot today
Over in the area for a quick visit so took the opportunity to catch a few smileys as well. It is indeed an interesting view. We got the benefit of the Bluewater festival as well. All good. TFTC
A big rowing event on this weekend. We parked roadside at the ski club and walked back as it was impossible to park at the domain due to the amount of people and tents. My 7yo niece found this one and enjoyed making a swap on some of the cool swag. Log signed we were onto the next one, TFTC!
Fropped off another TB and took put 2. Added photo for TB dropped off local bird of prey statue.
Dropped two Trackables (There & Back again), (The Real Travel Bug) in here today & collected two. Safe travels. Didn't see the others in here
Quick find once coast was clear.Realised I had pocketed the pen so returned it after coming back that way after the last cache.
Couldn't find this last time I was here but, with all these lovely trackables, I just couldn't resist! This time, the correct stretch led to a quick find. Apologies for cleaning out the TBs but they'll go to good homes. Good to turn a blue facr yellow and great to have loads of TBs to move on. TFTC and FP.
Log cleaned out and dried, logbook replaced, pen yet to come. Thanks to all thous that messaged.
This always a neat area to visit ..have been here many times pre caching with the kids rowing a quick search and soon had the well placed cache in had...the log is very wet but was able to sign ..container also had its fair share of water emptied and dried as best possible..thanks for the great cache
Thanks everybody for the heads up on the cache condition. I am currently out of town but will try and get it sorted.
Found the cache platform but cache has no view!! Container was full of water and log book saturated. Signed but only just. Thanks for the cache crusaderwoman and Bloosboy
Wee bit of hunting required for this one. Eventually found it’s hiding spot. TFTC
Enjoyed a really nice walk along here today... quite a few muggles around so the 'stealth' factor was right up there. Excellent hint which definitely made the task much easier. TFTC
Quick find at evening. Nice view on the lake. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
A nice quick find. Cheers.
And now we travel from Hamilton to Taupo, via a few back roads.
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

No idea where this might be.
Based on the relative Find-DNF ratio of all 455 caches I've attempted, this on is a in difficulty, by the way.
The travelling fox is sad =u,u=

Thought this would be an easy find after walking up to see the starting line for the 2017 World Masters Games rowing competition, but could not see it at what I thought was the intended location. I opted to not dive into the foliage and search harder due to the "barbed" plants, so I'm not sure if it is missing or I just failed to find it.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
I was staying down this way seeing one of my grandsons competing in the Dragonboat National Champs yesterday.
Cheers for the cache.

Good sneaky hiding place but exactly where it should be. Fun to find. All dry and well preserved. Swapped a stone for another. Thanks heaps
Finally got around searching for these caching without being up for a rowing regatta. Great to have a few smileys in this area. TFTC
Took a bit of searching but finally found it A beautiful sunny day out at the lake after sooo much rain. TFTC
One of the rattll's kept watch for muggles while the other searched. A good spot to pretend to be watching the rowers out training today.
Left an alphabet stone - the letter O
Thanks for placing this here for us to find
