Redemption! Could have been a quick find but I chose to go the long way ahha. TFTC
Hard slog climbing the sand dune from Greenhills Street.Quick find using spot on coordinates.TFTC Pipes_down_under
Nice to reverse this DNF. Geo partner had to do a bit of climbing though. Really not sure how I missed it last time. Oh no! And forgot the pen.
Mmmm. Have spent a good hour here. Im in the right place but the prize eludes me. Have climbed everywhere. Cant see the wood for the trees as they say!No ones mentioned the elephant in the basement. Is it just the Crime Junkie in me but WTF is wrapped in that black plastic. Too spooky for me. Ill try again another time with a friend in toe.
Just returned from OS and can enable this Geocache with thanks to the LegoLads.
Cache maintenance completed in collaboration with the CO, fresh new replacement log in place.
After spending 10 years out here running the dunes most Saturdays, I've had my eye on this for a while but there's usually way too many people out here on a weekend to retrieve with any degree of stealth! Following a bit of cache maintenance this evening with things nice and quiet, I've finally got around to signing the log and glad to tick this off. Thanks for keeping this one going Pipes down under!
Hi Pipes_down_under,The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention, or it may not but in the absence of the cache owner performing maintenance and/or disabling the cache to check it out, I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 4 weeks) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 4 weeks to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.Ngaambul - Matt
No luck for me here either unfortunately; think it may have rusted off and slipped into :/ Thanks anyway!
Doing some weed control in the dunes and stopped to find the cache and enjoy the view. Tftc tnln
We were very cautious at this cache as a red bellied black snake had slithered across the path just in front of the cache so we weren't going to go poking into places, so didn't end up finding this.
Great hide and beautiful spot. Unfortunately the rings holding it in had rusted completely and couldn't put it back in its hiding spot. Have tried to hide it out of sight as much as possible until the CO can get there. TFTC
Found while out and about with the Med Huey prior to heading for North America. Beautiful spot

Had to carry me bike up to this cache as it was too hard to even push it through this sand. Lol. Again, great coords and no one around made this a quick find. TFTC Pipes_down_under
Also log was full! Have taken a photo of the cache as evidence of find if needed
So glad I spotted this little bugger quickly! Log was full so couldn't sign but tftc anyway! Amazing location!
I wasn't going to do any caching today but you know how it is, beautiful spring day, great opportunity for a walk with geodog.
Where to go?
Quick look at the map and I decided this track would probably be fairly isolated. In hindsight that was never going to be the case.
So after lunch I leashed up geodog and we headed from Sydney's north down to Sydney's south. When I reached the recommended parking I realised it was going to be much busier than I had hoped with the carpark almost full. Found a spot and we set off. The sound of the sea brought back lots of good memories of childhood holidays.
Once at GZ I looked at the GPS. OK if its accurate its there right where that guy is sitting. It was accurate and its amazing what you can do right under someone's nose, literally, without them realising. SL, cache returned, a few photos taken then I spoke to the people as their kids wanted to play with my geodog. A bit of a chat and I'd explained geocaching and the guy was roaring laughing about how sneaky I'd been and how he'd never noticed. When I left they were busy googling 'geocaching'.

I can't remember the last time I cached in the Shire with any real purpose. Today there was so much to choose from and under beautiful clear skies, Mizmaz and I tackled a few specific caches so I could complete various challenges.
Well, since we were here getting the info for the earthcache we sat and found these 2 well hidden caches.
Thanks to all the CO's for your hide.

Brushing away the webs of caching-lockdown, eagerly accepted invite and company for a day out in the Shire. Mr Rat had some specific targets in mind for a challenge he was completing, some of which ended up helping my own progress, while others, especially those with quick finds or requiring teamwork, provided bonuses along the way. Once the priorities had been ticked off, still had some daylight hours to park in one spot and wander along the sandy tracks for a few more smileys. While doing the nearby earthcache, overheard some muggle parents dealing with fussy/bored kids right at GZ and suggested they look into geocaching as a family activity. Just glad we didn’t demonstrate a traditional with this tricky little find. Though so obvious in hindsight!
What a nice little treasure! Couldn't find it on the previous location but boring rightly this time we managed to get it in hands quickly. Log is full and require replacement.
Great view from this lookout platform! Will have to come back another (less hot) day to do the earthcache TFTC!
Mum searched for 15 minutes with no luck. Luckily geokid appeared & CIH within about 5 minutes. Typical! Gorgeous spot...thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
On my walk this Sunday afternoon found this Cache! Never been here before! Thanks for showing me this plays
Third time lucky. Previous two times it had been muggled. Only a million mozies out this morning
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
Did the Cronulla parkrun this morning, running past all the caches, knowing I had to walk the 5 km again to pick them up!! All caches found straight forward and I enjoyed the walk and the views.

I met some lovely tourist muggles at site and found cache quickly once they moved on
My first time at Wanda Dunes today and I was curious to see what was left of this well known site. Didn’t expect to see the pond here, or the proximity of the houses. Thanks Pipes_down_under.
We just managed to sneak a couple of caches in between the footy and enjoyed the walk here and the possibilities with a piece of cardboard for some other time. A tricky little hide. TFTC!
After DNFing last week, it took fresh eyes from miss morty to find this elusive tiny treasure. Onto the other 2 in the series that I hope are similar. TFTC
After last weeks lean pickings with the CO's caches morty8888 was keen to make another attempt to rectify the DNF's today plus hopefully gather a couple more. This cache was a DNF on two previous visits, however, with a little intel, and the presence of missmorty, who joined us late morning and who found the cache we were able to turn it into a smiley. As frazeydaze walked out this morning to go to work she asked, “caching today?” Of course, I said on this lovely sunny day. “Where are you going?” I’m going for a Wanda wander to check out Pipes’ five Wanda Dunes caches. “Have you got your visa to enter the Shire?” she asks. Of course, I have, got it yesterday. “Well drive safely” she said as she departed.
I parked on Greenhills Street, amongst very expensive houses, near an entrance track that would give me access to the first cache. On stepping from the car, I got attacked by ants; millions of them. The access track was uphill and sand, not an easy start to the day. When I reached the main track/access road I had the option of going left to cache number 1 or to the right for a warm up cache by Nanna Nell. As Nanna’s appeared closer I ventured down to her’s for a quick find. Lovely this is going to be a good day.
I then commenced walking back to the first platform where I assumed cache 1 was located. What a nice view from here, however, I’d better start searching for the cache I thought. Well I searched all over the platform, above and below, in fact I now know exactly how to construct a wooden platform or deck should the occasion arise in the future. Unfortunately, I didn’t find what I was looking for and after about 30 mins I decided to continue on my way, perhaps having a second look on the return journey which I did without luck. Although I didn’t site it TFTC Pipes.

It took me a while to look from he right angle to make the find here. Lovely views.

This was one of the first geocaches I ever attempted back in 2015 and got a DNF, came back and successfully sealed the deal. TFTC!
Pacgirl and I flew up to Sydney to visit Snoopy for a few days. The trip included sightseeing, socializing, and just a 'little' caching . My geopartners sometimes got a little impatient - they're obviously more muggles than they are cachers .
I headed to GZ where I took notes for the nearby earthcache. A weird muggle kept walking up and down the dune in front of the platform. He was probably wondering what the weird person was doing above and below the platform . I did wanda where the cache was for a while, but eventually I emerged from beneath triumphantly!
Thanks, Pipes down under.

I was out and about in the area so went in search of this cache along the Cronulla sand dunes trail. Headed towards gz and after a quick search I soon had the cache in hand. A clever little hiding attachment here. But then I had trouble getting the log out as it was jammed in. Fortunately some tweezers were located and I had the log out in a jiffy. Signed it and then replaced it all as found. A great view from up here on the platform. TFTC
#57 Found the last in this series this morning, another great location and beautiful morning for a walk. I actually found it last Saturday, had CIH and couldn't get the log out as well as too many Muggles around. TFTC PDU
Loving this Wanda Sand Dunes Track series. The view of the sand dunes from this lookout platform is awesome! TFTC Pipes_Down_Under
I just realized that there is quite a backlog of caches we have found while we were visiting Australia with dzimaci.
So here I am, logging after a month.
Thanks for the caches and hospitality of your great country.

Too many people hanging around when we arrived, so went off to do some other caches. Luck second time, only had to wait for 3 ladies to move on. TFTC
One more sunny day for geobiking (it's probably not the best along this way !)
This one was quick found. Always a nice view.

Finally turned this one into a smiley been here three times and it had been muggled so I had to log DNF's. Went to get 1A and grabbed this on the way back. TFTC
Picked this one up on the way back to the car after getting 1A. TFTC. Found with jeanovanwam and the geokiddies
15/06/16. 7:04 AM. Cache #4305.
1st of 5 finds today - Kurnell, Kareela.
Started the morning by revisiting this series, having seen that the CO had done checks/replacements since my DNFs of 1 & 2 in August. This time, much happier - got all 4!
Once again I attempted early on a Saturday morning and the crowds running the dunes were as big as ever (I only later discovered the majority at this time were doing a regular weekly parkrun event). I parked in a better spot this time, now with a 600m walk to the first cache. Approached the familiar platform, happy to see that there were no muggles up here just yet (but a few just below).
I did some "stretches" and happened to be in a perfect spot to see the cache. Quick grab, sat down to sign the log. Immediately joined by some muggles, so the cache had to come along in my pocket to #2, #3 & #4. After the return journey it was around 8:00 and on approach I was happy to see muggles walking away from GZ rather than towards it.
So I had GZ to myself, apart from lots of bags. I was quick enough to do the replacement without looking too suss. Sorry if anyone was looking for this one in the past hour! Off to Kareela after finishing the series, to find "2 Little Ducks". TFTC.

1st of 2 DNFs (among 7 finds) - Greenhills Beach & Kurnell.
After finding Cycleways #18, I had completed Greenhills Beach and was now on to Kurnell. So I thought I'd go off and tackle this series next. What followed was a frustrating hour of 2 DNFs.
I parked closer to the cache than the recommended WP, but wasn't sure if I was in a legit parking bay on the beach side near a track. The sandy track led to the main track, which I soon discovered was full of muggles out for a run - weekend mornings not the go when I come back here next time.
Got to the platform and had it to myself briefly, during which I had enough time to check the main item up on top. I feigned exercise positions to get into place for a good look everywhere, then decided it must be where I had first guessed, though that requires a fence jump.
Then a whole bunch of muggles come up having finished their dune run, some have pushed themselves to the point of being sick. Off with the shoes, on with the trash talk and I just know there's no way I can search now. I wait a few minutes and although this group leaves, 2 other guys who weren't part of the other lot stay behind and look settled in. Bugger it, I'm off to #2; get this one on the way back maybe...

Went out with the Geofam and spent 30 mins looking for this but I couldn't find it!

**After being ill over the last few days, I felt like I needed to get out in some fresh air. And didn't I pick the right trifecta of Caches to complete. I had no idea of the views that this location hides. And all three Caches are in good positions and in good order. Favourite point on this one, due to the unlimited views of the dunes, beach & even planes overhead. The Cache was an easy find too, which gave me more time to chill out with the world. Great job PDU.**
I did 'periscope' from this location as it was too good not to share it with the world.
