#3630 Found after a reasonable search while travelling from Orbost to Eden. Thankfully I read to previous log and it soon became clear where GZ was. TFTC

Heading home from a weekend up at Vooma watching rock Crawling and thought we would put a few caches under our belt.
This one had us navigating the grass covered rocks before geohusband discovered the yellow triangle and realised we didn't need to go through the grass at all.
Then he soon had it in hand. TFTC

Nice quick find once I made it to GZ through the grassy area with lots of rocks under it. Thanks Laidlaym for the new log sheets. You left the log book that didn't fit on top of the pillar. I will place it somewhere that needs it.

We included a new log and plastic bag. In the area for the Alpine Rally so wanted a smiley face to record our movement.

12-Nov-22
On holidays in Lakes Entrance and today we headed to Cape Conran and stopped on the way to check out the quaint Historic Snowy Floodplain Rail Bridge and noticed there was a cache not too far away. Our GPS was a little out and had us going around in circles until Mrs Pooky just happened to be looking in the right direction at the right spot and spotted the hide in plain sight. The Snowy River is definitely high and flowing fast. TFTC and bringing us up to this spot to see the river, which we would never have seen without the cache. The log was very very wet, and we were unable to sign but took a photo to confirm the find if the CO wants to see it. Maintenance request to be logged for a new logbook.

12-Nov-22
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache. The log was very very wet, and needs replacing, and a new plastic bag is also required to keep the new log dry

05-Nov-22
A short walk to start the day.
The Snowy is a bit murky but flowing nicely.
The log is soaked through. I'm not sure if the plastic bag is keeping the moisture in or out.
Thanks for the cache JedWilco.

26-Oct-22
Found it! Well the Snowy was certainly flowing today! There was lots of rain in the catchment overnight, so it meant the river was in moderate flood today. We’re holidaying in Lakes Entrance and decided to drive to Orbost for lunch, to avoid another day of rain. We enjoyed the drive and lunch at a cafe, then drove around town and found numerous roads were now blocked due to flood waters breaking the river banks. Fortunately we weren’t blocked in and made it across the bridge and safely found this cache before heading back to our accommodation. TFTC SL

Easy to find, but difficult due to a magpie swooping me!

Log soaked, hopefully summer will dry it out. Stamp worked! Not sure what the clue meant. Bit scary so close to the highway. T4TC

Day 3 of the Bring In The New Year (BITNY) road-trip. Today we packed up camp at Woods Point and headed back west towards Bairnsdale via Nowa Nowa and Lakes Entrance to name a few. Today I will hopefully travel through my last UBD map and tick off another LGA on my list.

As we were half way through bush bashing I read the log that said there was no need. Our gps was a little off today however we spotted the cache from our bush bashing location once some vegetation had been cleared and had the log in hand once we returned to the path.

Thanks JedWilko for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

28-Dec-21
The work year has finished, so it’s time to head off on another road trip - to explore ‘The Pointy End’.
DAY THREE: Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale
My GPSr was pointing down there in the long grass. Once I navigated my way through the unstable rocks, I spotted it … back up there!!
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, JedWilko

08-Nov-21
Looked a couple of years back and couldn't find it but came back and was an easy find. TFTC

Taking a road trip to Lakes Entrance with GrimRaider. Quick find here today.

Thanks for hiding this cache JedWilko

30-Dec-20
A long day of driving with the initial target being my final page on the Victorian Country Road Atlas challenge. Once that was ticked off I started heading for home with enough time to stop for selected caches along the way. This was one I was passing right by as I came back into Orbost and I turned off the main road to park nearby. I tried a few spots here before figuring out where it was most likely to be. It certainly felt like I had over complicated it when I finally got my hands on it. My second in a total of 20 finds for the day. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache JedWilko.

25-Dec-20
Clever hide! The triangle was quite faded and the flies were all over me though!

11-Dec-20
After 3 days in Marlo it is time to head back to the Yarra Valley. The crowds were out in force here to wish me goodbye (flies that is ). Thanks

At Lakes Entrance for a weeks R&R now that we have been released from prison. You know, it's amazing how good your toe feals when you stop hitting it with a hammer.
Travelling up the road a little chasing some caches for the Victorian Road Atlas Challenge and this one gives me Map 33 Smile
A nice quick find today.
Cache logged with sanitised hands.

Grew up in Orbost and was visiting home so thought we'd squeeze in some caching. No yellow triangle to be seen, found the cache though Also not sure if my phone was just being super dodgy but found the cache about 10m from where it said it was supposed to be

Not much left of the bridge or yellow triangle.

Found on another epic caching loop with H423L which included the St Arnaud mega and many other magnificent Australian locations.

Thanks JedWilko and clear skies from TeamAstro. ️ Cache the planet!

Heading to Lakes Entrance from Merimbula, picking a few caches along the way to break the journey. It took a while to find it, although I don't know why. I checked underneath and then came up. In the end it was easily spotted when in the right spot. Still didn't find the yellow triangle.

Thanks to JedWilko for the cache.

01-Oct-19
We took longer here than we should have. I guess that comes from having done a few bridge caches and overthinking it. In the end the triangle was covered by the grass and once we had located it we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

21-Sep-19
Found the triangle, and the cache

08-Jul-19
Nice walk from camp except for road spray from the occasionaltruck on the bridge, it being a wet day and all ! And yes there is such a thing as cache blindness, or just trying too hard !

I hate when you spend ages walking around in snakey knee high grass looking in every hard hide you can think of and then have that face palm moment when you realise It’s in the easy obvious spot!!!

*24 Apr 2019, Found @4:09 pm, Find # 2816.*

On my way home from the mega in Queanbeyan and stopped here to break up my journey. Once I narrowed down where I needed to be it was a quick find.

**Thanks to JedWilko for placing this cache.**

23-Apr-19
Heading homeward after the Clear Waters Mega we had to mark our geo route with smilies where there is room for car & caravan to stop safely.
Plenty of room to park for this one.
It took a while, the cache showed us where the triangle is rather than the triangle popping up first.

Satellites today had our GZ 8 metres NW of where we found the cache.

Thanks to 'JedWilko' for placing this cache.

Day 27 of my trip and I’m needing to hurry along a bit if I want to get to Queanbeyan early next week while still doing the things I want to do along the way!

Today I was keen to ensure I had finds in all the various LGAs, and the map pages for the Victorian Country Road Atlas challenge, as it is unlikely I’ll be back over this way for a while. This meant having to make some lengthy detours and leave quite a few mystery caches I had solved and traditionals and multis that I was keen to do that I passed close to. But I still got distracted a few times!

This was a quick find as I arrived at Orbost.

Thanks JedWilko for the cache.

Grub62 and I found this cache while we were on our way to back to Melbourne. We were completing some pages for the UBD challenge. We could not find the yellow triangle in the hint but did find this cache. TFTC.

Found on a trip down south to a family event at the Nyerimalang open air concert. What a fantastic event.

14-Mar-19
Found with Crazy! Nat Girl, we made this harder than it should of been, the coordinates being out did not help, I wasted some time under the bridge before following the path to the cache. Thanks for the cache.

We just spent 2 days wandering around the other end of the river so it was interesting to see how it had grown from where I could straddle it with my legs, to this wide majestic river.
Thanks

23-Nov-18
Not quite sure how the hint is meant to help, but luckily we spotted this one rather quickly. TFTC!

15-Nov-18
After reading the hint item was hidden under long grass, I searched there and found it. From there the cache was easy.

TFTC.

12-Nov-18
Trying to get to Marlo but somehow took a wrong turn. Ah well, may as well stop here and create another smiley seeing as we are going past now Wink

Lots of slithery things in the grass and a cute little birds nest under the bridge, and then after reading a few logs I realised I was looking in the wrong place Red Face

I found where the hint was hiding and then I found the cache. Woo hoo! I left some scribble and then replaced the container back where it had come from.

Thanks for the cache JedWilko Big Grin

Yes this one does blend in well. Didn't make sense of the hint but it was an easy enough hide when I looked up and spotted it.
Cheers

09-Aug-18
Well we tried again and followed the gps. Nothing. Getting frustrated. Stood at GZ and looked about and spied the cache. Coordinates are 6 to 7 m out. TFTC.

Hint was very belpful tftc

07-May-18
Yet another DNF in this town. Spotted a likely clue item about 100ft away from where the GPS wanted me, but no sign of a cache there. Extended the search to around where the GPS was and again, no clue item, no cache. After a good 15 minutes of looking, I had to settle for yet another DNF.

12-Mar-18
I had finished my time in Melbourne and was now heading back north via the Monaro region. I spotted this hide near the road as I was travelling past. Read the hint, which was quite specific. A great view of the famous Snowy River from near here. Then it was onto the next cache. TFTH Wink

16-Feb-18
I almost missed this one. The gps had me about 6 meters away. I searched around and looked up and spied the cache. Very effective camo, cant believe I did not see it sooner

27-Jan-18
GPS was all over the place, but eventually I saw this one. Don’t know how I missed it! Great spot to view the river, but left the geokiddies in the car - too many vehicles driving past for the Littlies Smile tftc.

20-Jan-18
Took a bit of searching, clue didn't help at all. Tftc

17-Jan-18
Stopped to collect a cache in Orbost and used the hint. That didn't help at all but did find the sneaky cache after a little search here.
Parked where it was recommended and was glad to be off the busy road.
