Flying back from a long weekend in the Manawatu and the chance to grab a few caches to keep me going through the week before I head back ove the hill. Even though it was nice in Palmy today someone turned the hose on in Nelson and after a cloudy misty flight into the airport (the turbulence wasn't as bad as I thought it might be) I got back to the car and the rain started and pretty much rained on and off for a few hours. I managed a couple more Streak caches, two puzzles and some in and around the Stoke area so quite pleased to get double figures (and get drenched)
First of the 2 streaks and a nice easy find here. I'm starting to get the hang of some of the Nelson cachers now and look a little harder

6654. Our last full day in Nelson and a long drive home tomorrow so decided to take it easy, not go too far or do much geocaching. Ended up doing some biking and walking and found twelve caches. This was cache number four for the day. A quick and easy find in a secluded spot after a short walk. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.

For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.

Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!

So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!

Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Consec caching day # 706

TFTC!! Smile

Approached from the wrong side of the stream so a crossing was necessary. Junior was keen to taken on the make-shift bridge. Cooler heads prevailed. Once at GZ, cache was quickly in hand. Thanks Sidewaze!

20-Sep-14
Nice quick find. Not good timing, the rain had stopped and muggles were everywhere, TFTC

09-Sep-14
Having come from Humble Beginnings (no, seriously I did : http://coord.info/GC5C5RK) I wanted to get this one struck off as I had been muggled a few times in trying to find it be it by school kids, walkers and other ne'er-do-wells!.

I disturbed several spiders in my quest only to soon realise I had over-shot the GZ by a few metres. Approaching from the other direction and I had the cache spotted.

Thanks

#7968. It seemed like a good day to polish off some caches Troodles had already found while streaking. Took me a little while to manoeuvre into a position from which I could see the cache. TFTC.

Sussed out an access point to make this cache a near drive-by, just 70m from where I had parked the car. If I had used OpenStreetMap instead of Google maps, I would have noticed the stream that was separating the parking spot from GZ [B)], which meant a longer walk than anticipated to the nearest bridge. Then I spotted the walkway from Byron Pl so just a short detour from Main St was required, instead of the meandering detour that I did take. Thank goodness I did find the cache Cool. Surprised to be just the second finder in 6 months.

Many thanks for another streak cache to augment my streak. Day #97 today, woot woot.

No longer officially streaking but just slowly mopping up the remainder of the recently published caches that I haven't gotten to yet. Although my GPS seemed to want me to look about 6m away, I checked the logical spot first and there was the cache. TFTC, Biggles.

Today's find was made just before the rain and cold came in, which was lucky for me as I didn't have any wet weather gear with me. I love this part of Stoke and can often be found biking nearby. TFTC

Re containers: I happened to let it be known how useful eclipse tins were and then started getting them from all directions. So many in fact that I've had to say Help! No More!!!! Big Grin

13-Aug-13
Thanks Sidewaze for keeping us going. Mr Unichel found this one today to maintain our streak. TFTC

12-Aug-13
Out to Stoke for dinner with my parents. Dinner wasn't ready when I arrived so did what what any other cacher would do when there is a cache only 373 meters away ... go for a walk. Misjudged what side of the creek it was on but a quick rock hop solved that and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for keeping the Streak alive.

Break in the day - break in the weather - so a chance to do a Streak cache on the right date. Autorouting should have been ignored, but in fact turned the trip into a nice loop walk into familiar then less familiar territory. Not called Ethel so was allowed to look - but not for long. The FTF logs were up when Mrs left home so not surprised to be third to sign.
Thanks.

12-Aug-13
Wandered down for an FDF this afternoon to keep the streak going.

Great to be able to start bagging TCITS. Should have looked at the map a bit more carefully would have saved going around in circles, jumped the creek on the way back.
