The cache "" .
Just following up on my earlier "Needs Maintenance" log. It is now well over 28 days old and despite a "Find" from the CO, nobody else can find it.
Is it really there?

Hint wasn't much help. Hz seems to be in a high traffic area - pity as there are so many hides along the beach.
We had a damn good look for this, just hoping it hasn't been vandalised or stolen??
Had a very good look for this, and judging from previous finders' photos, the cache has gone. Recent number of DNFs (we did the search on 28th Sept, but I'm writing this on 10th Oct) seem to confirm that the 'lost birdie' is, in fact, a pilfered pigeon, a stolen seagull, a hijacked hawk or a robbed raven. Some swine has swiped the swan. The falcon's been flogged. The albatross has been abducted. The kestrel's been kidnapped...
no luck for us here today. we searched around for a while until a muggled arrived in the area time to go maybe next time.

Showing my Filipina partner the beautiful parts of this ancient section of our country. GeoCaching lends a helping hand to visit unique corners. Searched on two occasions, but could not find the little birdie. If it is still there then Difficulty should be higher than 2.5. Due to the big leaf cover on the ground, I searched mainly chest height and higher - no luck and the force was not with me.
We stopped by this cache while on our way to Cape Tribulation from our current digs in Mossman. We enjoyed a short walk along the beach from the suggested car park.
On arrival at GZ we were astounded at all the big, crunchy leaves covering the ground. I think the rainforest has got it's seasons backwards at the moment....after all it isn't autumn...is it??
There was a small camper van parked nearby in amongst the rainforest but fortunately out of site of GZ
We snap, crackled and popped our way around the area looking for the little lost bird but had no luck at all......I think he has been entombed in a mountain of leaves.
We eventually left and continued on our way to Cape Trib. I read all the previous logs and checked out all the gallery pics on the way so we had a very good idea of what we should be looking for.....we would love to have found it because it definitely looks very cute.
So very frustrating to see so many inexperienced cachers who have found the little cutie but we were obviously not in their league
On our return to Mossman we stopped by again and had another search (no campers this time) knowing exactly what we should be looking for but still our 'foliage follies' left us empty handed
Too good for us I'm afraid TropoBirdo but we enjoyed the area and the search...thanks anyway[^]

spent ages looking for this cache, searched the tree at GZ with no luck, read the hint and expanded my search accordingly, went out in a 15 meter radius but still no luck finding "the little lost bird"
contacted the CO hoping for another hint while in the area but he was not in a generous mood.
will keep a watch and maybe come back another day...

Hi there TropoBirdo,
Your cache "Rocky Point" was last found on 21/04/2015, 112 days ago, and has had 4 DNF's since that time..
Is there any chance you could do a maintenance run to confirm if it is still there - - and replace it if it isn't.
If that's not possible then please archive the cache so that the spot can be freed up for someone else to use.
Regards
Ian & Penny

In Port Douglass for 5 days to the 17th July with my wife and her muggle brother and family.
First and only DNF for the day, heading north to Cape Tribulation, in company of the muggle brother in-law,
This one really needs the CO to check it out. Myself and Sweet had a good look around the GZ to no avail

No luck for me today, I had a good look but chose to move on after a while.
Hopefully it is still there, and very well hidden.

Cairns Dive Trip March 2015. After a shortened first dive drip I decided a day trip out caching would be the way to go. I have been up here a few times, and not looked down this ridge. It seems a great place by the sea, a real pity about all the dangerous sea life around here. Thanks.

Hi all,
Found by Danielc on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Val elected to remain at the car. Danielc went off in search. Spotting something strangely placed made it an easy find. Signed log.

Eine schöne Aussicht wird einem hier geboten. Mein GPS sprang von einem zum nächsten Punkt. Anhand der Logbilder konnte ich das Döschen finden.

Today we explored Mossan and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

Managed to make this one harder than need be by parking further up the road. Enjoyable walk back along the beach though. Neat little hide. Thanks TB for placing this cache to hunt.
I was only able to initial the log sheet. It is very full and needs replacing. I didn't have a spare with me to do that today.
Very pretty beach area and a great place for a cache. Thanks TropoBirdo for yet another great cache and hiding spot.

Found this cache on a beautiful beach in a hide which would as well serve a larger cache.
Went back a second time to find this cache today, on the way back from Cape tribulation. Great location thanks for the cache TropoBirdo. Jimmytherat.
A lost birdie indeed. He seems quite happy and snug in his little secret spot.

Lol we found the little bird. Good spot. Silly people leaving bottles around
We drove up to Daintree today and hiked several boardwalks. Then we wanted a couple of finds to finish the day.

This was one of several caches that I found on the drive back to Cairns. This was another lovely spot to stop and I soon found the cache.
Walked along from the rock wall - got close to gz but bouncing around a bit. Lots of evidence of coconut husking. Surely it's not right next to the walkway? Ventured further afield, spiked by lots of bushes, bitten by a few more mozzies - then back where I started, looked a bit further in, and....ahaaaa! Spotted the pretty bird.

So I roll up and these 2 muggles are carrying wheat bags of coconuts up from down the beach. Man they looked heavy. They were kind enuf to let me take a pic. Think they have a restaurant. Yummy, but not the milk sort.
Thanks to TropoBirdo and clear skies from TeamAstro. Tweety.

not the best weather for the find, but was in a nice hidden away area (found with stooy)
A very cheeky little birdy this one turned out to be. The cloud cover and rain made the compass jump around a bit so just did the usual and searched within the 6 metre range i get when the weather is like this and i find i made. Would be interseted to know if any crocs do inhabit the small pool off the beach.
Found this one this morning with the geodad. Once again he beat me to make the find. I guess i will have to jump and run when we go caching next. TFTC.
A nice place for a quick stop and stretch of the legs. Lovely beach.

It was blowing a gale when we stopped to find this cache.
While the GPS indicated the area where this container was hidden, we also used the co-ordinates provided by the first person to find this cache to assist in narrowing down exactly where the hide was.
It was Clay12 who retrieved the brightly camouflaged container. A bit of work was needed to retrieve the log, so possibly bring a pair of tweezers with you to assist.
Cache and log as in good repair and just waiting for the next finder.
Thanks TropoBirdo for this well placed hide in a lovely part of Far North Queensland.

First of all, all props to Pprime (P`) for making me aware of this cache. He had noticed it some days ago and knew I would be in the area. His thoughtfulness earned me an FTF
I am not much of an FTF hound these days - but I put it on watch - fully expecting it to be gone by the time I get to it.
Unfortunately, I pulled up 180m further away than I needed to. Some muggles were pulling in just as I arrived. Drat But Mr GPSr told me it was not near them - and there was a nice amount of tree cover between me and them.
I hunted around for about 15 minutes before I noticed something. Our little friend had a little fail - but is all good now. The cache itself is in good condition.. and I was very happy to open it and find I got *FTF* at 6.04pm. This cache is my furthest FTF from home - at over 1400km
I have added the co-ordinates that worked for me today.
A very beautiful area. I took some happy snaps in the dying light and then made off. TFTC TropoBirdo
