Apologies for the late log - semi retirement is busy!! lolWe're staying in Point Lonsdale for a few days and today is our Anniversary We spent the morning doing some caching then came back to the holiday house for a late lunch. The weather was looking a bit dicy so we stayed put for a while then it cleared up so we set off again to this new estate at Point Lonsdale. This cache was a nice easy find and we enjoyed the views here and even determined that if this lovely estate with its water ways was on the Eastern side of Melbourne we would consider moving there, but with having to negotiate the Westgate Bridge or any West to East traversion every time we would want to come back to visit family or friends, we couldnt really bring ourselves to make that choice lol. The houses are probably worth twice as much as ours anyway lol Thanks for bringing us to this pretty place! TFTC Phetlern - GJMMelb
A quick find here today. Jumping in and out of the car avoiding the rain
Found it with some friends at the national footy carnival Ollie is so bad it was right in front of his eyes and he couldnt find it
Found it... Of course I was looking in all the wrong spots and just as I was about to give up it popped out and says here I am.. got very busy with muggles looking at me weirdly, but that's what makes this activity fun.
Filled in a few hours doing a few caches locally and stopped in the way back to find this one.

Snuck out without the kids, so what else does one do with the daughter, but pick up a few caches. This is one on our radar and after swapping sides, the cache was soon in hand
*Found on the 17 Dec 2022 @ 12:41 pm.*
*Cache find # 13831.*
Down Geelong way for a day of Christmas events, so in between event I jumped into the spiffy-
mobile and we headed to Queencliffe for a few caches.
I have found most of the caches over this way but this one I had not, so off we went to find this one.
We got to GZ then picked a side and the cache was soon found.
**Thanks to Phetlern for placing this cache.**

Today was my first visit to Geelong for the Xmas events day and I managed 3 out of the 4 and a lot of fun was had. I joined up with stemicmitsar after the CITO and before the lunch and headed to Queenscliff to complete my 20 caches in this LGA for a challenge that I will one day finish.
This was one stemicmitsar hadn't actually found so we targetted it. He took one side and I took the other, he won.
Thanks Phetlern for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Staying with friends for the HOSG regatta. This was a nice addition to my morning. Thanks
Staying with friends in Point lonsdale for a short holiday and found this cache on a walk yesterday but had no pen. Returned today and logged the cache on my birthday. Cache is in good order and log is dry. TFTC.
Out on the rail trail today, heading from Geelong down to Queenscliff looking forward to a swim at the end. There was a strong head wind to take on but I was prepared to soldier on against it. It was nice to have the breaks every now and then to grab a cache. A short detour on a new path that has sprung up from the lakes took me right through the point and right to GZ. I searched for this on Monday when we were down in Queenscliff however I didn't have time to wait around for the muggles who had sat themselves down right on GZ. Today was quite a different case and I was left to my own to locate the cache. It didn't take me long and I was soon signing the logbook. Thanks for the hide Phetlern

We were on our way home from Ocean Grove and decided to go the long way.. we took a few minutes to find a parking spot as they are not thick on the ground in this area. We assume they playground is walked to by most people. We looked around where the GPS was showing us to go and it was giving us a 5-10m area to look in. After looking for around ten minutes we sat down and had a bit of a read and a look around. Whilst sitting and thinking another potential hiding spot came to mind. A quick check and BINGO we had the cache in hand. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you Phetlern for this cache.
Another attempt at this one and did the headless chook routine for a while, before deciding a seat under cover would provide opportunity to look at previous logs. Read far enough back in them to find 2 significant clues (which I won't disclose here). Found the cache readily after the research, and did a re-search, which quickly proved effective. Enjoyed this one and enjoyed the sit-down. Tarried a while, trying to do a draft, but that action crashed, so it's timely that headquarters is working on this element of the Great Game.
After having no luck twice last summer, geoboy 12 put his hands on this one immediately this morning! So glad to finally have a smilie for this one. Thanks for bringing us to this area, it’s really pretty and peaceful.
A very interesting log: April/02/2020

I couldn't really consider this one as a DNF, Navigation had me heading towards a Public Seating Area that has been closed of due to COVID-19. CO might need to Disable the Cache if it's in this area for the time being.
Phew, second year, third visit, this time success. Needed to PAF to verify I was in the correct area which left me FEELING better about caching.
Tricky spot with muggles often arriving.
Thanks Phetlern for the hide and maintenance.

No luck for us, tried a couple of times with muggles around both times. Will have another go when we’re down next.
Find #2332 for me. Found at 10:46 am while visiting the area from Bendigo. My kids didn't want to join me on this adventure so I'd left them back at the holiday unit with Mum. Without them I felt a little uncomfortable poking around here as a single man in full view of the surrounding houses, and even more so when another family pulled up and their kids made a beeline for the nearby playground. After this new arrival I changed tack by sitting down on a seat under the shelter and reading through some previous logs. One of these helped focus the search and I was able to lay my hand on the very well-hidden treasure shortly after. Just as well since after I left the other family made their way to the sheltered picnic area where I'd just been so my success here this morning was largely due to lucky timing! Thanks so much for bringing me to a part of Point Lonsdale I'd never seen before today Phetlern, and thanks for the cache!

Pulled up and started looking and found nothing. Looked for hints - the coords are good - nothing new there. Then I saw who owned it and I HAD to get it then! Looked a bit more and thought hmmm..... there it is. This place is sure changing.
Tonight I ended up with a job that had me in Queenscliff and I was still yet to find a cache to satisfy my cache a day streak. This one seemed like a likely target to hopefully grab a quick find between jobs and before a busy evening ended my streak.
At GZ I was hunting around in what I thought was likely spots but wasn't getting very far it wasn't until I was given a hint form a PAF that pointed me in the right direction to somewhere I had initially discounted.
Thank you Phetlern for the hide

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Phetlern for an enjoyable cache.
Wasn't going to let this one defeat me .. Came back again today .Took the little guy down the playground and this time located the cache and signed off and sure enough Mogni was the last to sign
20 mins , high and low and all around , still baffled , will be back some later stage
Out with my brother and his 2 kids checking out the sights and of course grabbing a few caches. Such a lovely part of Australia.
Thanks to Phetlern from mogni

Well you know the story about this one and thanks for the cuppa even if it was the wrong house.
A perfect spot to have a picnic on a beautiful spring or summer's day.
Nicely hidden here thank you.

Found this one in about 10 minutes. GPS was going crazy, so I wouldn't have found it without Chan 5456's comment about the strong magnet. TFTC
Grabbing a few caches while pootling back to our accommodation in Geelong, thanks Phetlern.
We had briefly searched for this one a few days earlier but due to a party across the road we cut the search short. Today we returned and area was relatively quiet. Our GPSs took a little while to settle down and were not consistent with each other. So we ended up searching in a number of locations before we finally found the container. Tftc
Staying on after the Surf Coast Event we explored this area using geocaching as a guide. Today we tackled this series and enjoyed the variety of hides and the challenge of finding them. We enjoyed the walk along the Bellarine Rail Trail today finding some more of these G2Q series.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Day 3 of our geoholiday in Victoria and today we are tackling the other half of this bike track, we started at G2Q Curlewis: End of the Line and finished at Queenscliff, after finishing the bike track we drove around grabbing a few of the other caches in the area before heading back to camp for a well deserved nights sleep, a huge Thank you to all the COs that placed these caches for us to find. Found at 2:28 PM GAFF5.
For a difficulty of 1.5, we weren't going there [B)] We checked all around and stuck our hands in places that we could not see which always makes c-pprass a bit squeamish.
BTW - looks like thomo31 on 29 June didn't think much of your request to not write abbreviations in logs
Thanks Phetlern.

Christmas day is a good time to cache except when it is really windy. So windy in fact that my sunglasses blew right off my head in the picnic shelter. I was the only one about as featherdown sat quietly in the car and the neighbours here were not at home.
Merry Xmas Phetlern!
Merry Xmas Phetlern!
Had to take the car for a test drive, so why not past this spot that I have never seen before. The cache did take some time to find as the GPS wasn't thinking straight! Once the GPS stopped and had a think and used a more logical approach, the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for placing this cache at this location. Now I have another spot to bring the family for a BBQ.
Eventually found with OutRangerous. For once our GPS were accurate but initially had a case of cache blindness. A nice area and also enjoyed a lovely sunset. TFTC
great hide. gps had us going around and around looking everywhere, only to find it where we had checked a few times already.
spent 20 mins looking in wrong areas! after being on hands and knees looking under everything i was about to leave and thought oh i may as well look over there but i doubt it.. but it was lucky
We were on our way to lunch with Linearzz and they graciously allowed us a slight detour to look for this cache. A quick find. TFTC
Found 3:11:00 PM, in the company of Muzza on our first joint outting for 2015
