Today we headed east from the west coast. Past high mountains and wide valleys. The river meanders through the wide valley. From time to time we stop to learn more about the history of the area or to explore special natural phenomena. The mines in the valley and their events and the special nature of the hot springs are very interesting. The traditionals let us stretch our legs and are a welcome change. Many thanks to all the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi
Been here a couple of times but success today after expanding the search area. Cache all good. TFTC
We parked up very close to here, to have a cuppa and cook up some of the delicious black pudding we'd just got from Blackball, with some bacon and eggs - Yum!!!We thought we'd found it, but no! Then we definitely found it Thanks for putting this here
Rattll and I are on a three week road trip around the South Island. Today, we started in Blackball in drizzly rain, and we've made our way to Wakefield tonight. No real targets for the day, although adlabs are always good, but somehow we've picked up some goodies for the day.We stopped in Reefton for a late breakfast, walking around the town afterwards to get some caches and adlabs. A cunning hide here. Like others before us, we'd been distracted by the natural camo, and not looked further on first sweep. Only found when we went back. All well. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
I tried for this one ladt time we were in the South Island & was unsuccessful - found it this time.TFTC
Dismal failure to spot it despite being pretty sure what sort of thing I was looking for.
Not many people around which made this a quick find. Nice to see historic places here. TFTC!
Today it was forecasted that the weather would turn a tad nasty this afternoon so I thought I would locate and sign off the caches in Reefton.I think I was one of the previous DNFers but not today.Cheers for the cache, bumandworker.
I dnf'd this one multiple times, including earlier today. After reading and re-reading the logs, I realised that I will need to reach in, so I did, although it felt very wrong. I would have been better placed in the tree where the coordinates point. TFTC
Reefton was Just supposed to be a short stopover on our journey from Punakaiki to Kaikoura, but we really liked this place and would have liked to stay longer. We will come back some time in future!
Down for a motorcycle gathering a quick look n find whilst waiting for breackfast TFTC LOKKY1
(# 7582) Day 2 of the West Coast trip primarily to go to the Wild Food Festival in Hokitika. Today we traveled from Nelson to Hokitika and grabbed a few caches on the way. A quick find in its hiding space. Thanks for bringing me here.
Day 2 of caching adventure to the wildfoods festival. Today is Nelson to Hoki. Travelling with Mr McGoo and Justlooking00. After massive ferry cancellations, we have not been sure this trip was going to happen, so are making the most of it.
Nice find by Mr MGoo here as we were doing the AL. Nice hiding spot. TFTC.

Heading on a wee family summers holiday.
In Reefton for a couple nights (and then on to Westport for a few nights).
Came out for an evening family bikeride around town to complete the Adlab - much cooler than the 30degree day! Grabbed this cache along the way. Thanks, a cool wee spot.

On our Stopp in the nice Reeftown we visited the church and logged this one.

While Andy was on one of the tracks on the edge of town collecting some caches, I was picking up AD Lab points. There just happened to be a cache at this one and after a bit of hunting I was shown the light. tftc
Anzac Day morning and we just missed the service here. While busy here there was no one in sight when we discovered the cache. Put in new log as everything full. Good cache, thanks.
It wasn't where the GPS was pointing too so widened our search. It is a sneaky hide. Thanks for the cache.
After sampling the pubs fare we came to find this cache. Very sneaky indeed. Thanks for bringing us here bumandworker
Eventually located..clever hide..I said a few prayers then all was revealed C.O. may need checking as they are not as sharp as yours usually are thanks B&W
Found with Juju54 nice area, not quite where we thought it would be - TFTC
A very sneaky place for a hide but after a short search aha! Found with Campmotherandken TFTC
GPS took us a little further away from the go rhan we expected but we widened our search and came up with the goods. Lovely spot. Just stood on the corner and could see the heaps. TFTC
Searched at some different spots and came back to the first when I eventually made the find. Met some lovely people in front of the church! Signed one of the 5 pieces of paper in the cache.
How blessed I am to find it

I initially found myself searching around the wrong feature. I was eventually rewarded when my attention was directed to another feature. Thanks for placing and looking after the cache.
One more Reefton cache before hitting the road again towards Punakaiki...
Some exterior decorating work in progress nearby but no sign of any actual work being done at the moment.
A little search around the general area yielded nothing but then I received some divine inspiration and my prayers were soon answered.
Thanks b&w

No caches for us between Greymouth and Reefton. But this is the first in this town.
It took two goes at it - first time I searched two wrong locations, but the Ad Lab brought us back here and I thought, why not look over here? Quick find after that.
Not always the best idea caching on church grounds on a Sunday, but it was quiet when we were here.
All good then, TFTC B&W.
Our last day of our South Island trip today, and it’s the home stretch from Hokitika to Nelson.
Not many goals today, but I noticed I was only a couple of longitude minutes off qualifying for a challenge cache, so with limited opportunities on the way home that would add to that, we stopped for some caches there.
The other goal was to spend a bit of time in Reefton, as I had never done this. So we timed that stop for lunch and had a good look around, ticking off a few caches and doing the Adventure Lab.
Apart from that the aim was to get home ASAP, pick up the fur babies from the cattery, and relax and debrief on what has been a full on 16 days.

Day 17 & the last day of our South & Stewart Islands roadie. Agenda today is Hoki to my home in Brightwater. No walks to do today, just stopping in Reefton for lunch, a look around & the adventure lab to complete
Will be good to see my furbabies, Mummy has missed them
Had a couple cracks at this one until we sorted it. Not ideal looking around the church grounds on a Sunday morning lol

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.
Was sidelined by a Irish muggle here looking for his ancestors. Managed to turn him around while Ruru_NZ located and signed log. He then went into church and we took off.

Day 8 - Labour weekend extended road trip with Kiwicampnut - relocated to stay south of the ditch.
Not a place I would have looked first, and the more devout may hesitate to look even more than me.
Kiwicampnut ran interference with a local while I finally found it where I'd looked before but found something else.
No single log book, just a series of postage stamp pieces of paper - and with the muggle am not going back at add something a bit more permanent.
Thanks for the cache bumandworker

I clearly remember coming here and looking for this cache in 2019, but I dont remember if I actually found it or signed the log. Antways, here Im, today in this crazy weather standing in front of this beautiful church praying to the Almighty for the good of someone.
Cache is all good here. TFTC.

Day 8 of three weeks winter motorhoming in the upper half of the South Island. In Reefton today. Completed the local Adventure Lab, then found another 11 caches during the rest of the day. Took a brief moment to locate this one. Is it hidden there “with permission”? If not, a wee bit questionable perhaps? #4087. TFTC.
This tied in nicely with doing the Adventure Lab. I was rather surprised to find it where I did. But it seems to work. TFTC
We had come to Reefton in the pursuit of the PWGT cache. Once that was sorted we were heading for the bustling township but found the main street so busy we could not get a park. We discovered it had been show weekend in Reefton so maybe that accounts for all of the people around. We have never seen it so busy.
So we ended up parking fairly close to this gz, and of course when we are parked so close it is only right to go and have a look for the cache.
GK made the find of this clever cache, not sure that I would have looked there as quickly as he did.
We often like to look in churches as we pass them, especially if they have lead light windows. We only got into the foyer of this one as there were people inside and we did not want to interrupt them.
Our last cache for today, now to head for home to unpack and for GK to load up the van and trailer as he gets ready for work tomorrow.
Thanks for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley

We had gin and ice-cream, then went for a walk. This took a while as there were a couple of muggles across the road. They eventually lost interest in us, and I could sneakily snaffle it. FTC.
Found during a lunch stop in Reefton.
Great camo, had me fooled for a few moments.

Ignored the obvious spot until we had looked in other places. Went back and there it was safe and sheltered for an easy find. TFTC
On a road trip to Reefton with busy paws, lyttteltonwitch and Geomum007 we are signing logs as Hawks Harem. This is a cute cache well protected. Thanks for the cache bumandworker.

Thanks

Cache is on private property. If it was placed with permission, then that information needs to be added to the cache writeup. If it wasn't placed with permission, then ask permission. If can't be bothered asking for permission, then archiving and removing the cache would be the proper thing to do.
