As much as I hate to admit it, Owner maintenance carried out (only because of the missing Good Cache coordinates and in a moment of madness, actually added a small pencil !
With some tree climbing events on today, EthisEthat headed out to grab some caches in between times.Seeing as though we'd parked very close by for reasons unrelated to this cache, we decided to quickly pop by and find this one. While the find was made quickly thanks to EE's memory, the cache was in a pretty gross state - unsignable and lacking bonus coords, as the previous finders mentioned. The unaddressed NM log from April still accurately reflects the state of the cache. Thanks to Agent Basil for placing this cache!
The rusty old mint tin could use a replacemnt. but we added a new logsheet to the mouldy old one which we left in place.HOWEVER there are no coords attached for ( GC4J5X6 ) so it needs some owner intervention.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra in anticipation of ANZAC day. With a cold morning it was a later start than originally planned. Knowing we wanted to be in Kambah by 3pm a list was written heading south today. Of course the list was just too long but we got to a fun event and claimed a few smilies along the way.TFTC Agent Basil
Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache Agent Basil!
Found this during a fantastic weekend away at the Canberra Mega, with gridge98, Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite. The log books were either signed with the name ABP or our individual caching names. Was an excellent Mega, grateful to be part of it!
Found on our journey over the week here. This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Courtneyrose_ Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite as part of our team called: ABP (Alphabet People), the log books were either signed with the name, ABP or our individual caching names.A great weekend away in the capital and a very well organised mega, it was nice to be back in the ACT caching once again over easter with great weather. Thanks for the cache

Found while attending the Mega event in Canberra over Easter.Today I teamed up with FeatherWaite, Team Waldron, gridge98, CourtneyRose and Davidwazza. Logs were signed ABP to save time and space on the logsheets. It was a productive day, focusing mainly on caches of interest, with a variety of cache types. The weather was fine and quite warm, in contrast to some of the other times Ive been in Canberra over Easter. Thanks Agent Basil for the cache.
Found with DDD and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
Quick find on my way home while I was in the area. All as described by previous visitors. TFTC
Got the little brighter! Coordinates were a bit off, the log was damp, the mint tin was in pretty bad shape and there were plenty of weeds around…but plenty of fun was still had by all and crucially, the good cache coordinates were obtained!
Found with Baristayan on the public holiday Monday…thanks for the cache and the clever idea!

TFTC. Although it’s claimed to be a bad cache, in my books it’s a good cache because I found it.
Had a spare logsheet on me, so I've put that in so that I could sign the log. TFTC
A quick park and grab on my way to work. The BAD cache is aptly named for its condition at the moment. The GOOD coordinates are still in place, however.
Well a cache is a cache and this one came with a bonus! Unfortunately, a bad cache is also a bad cache and the log is unsignable, pic attached. TFTC Agent Basil!
#929 Whilst in the area tonight I stopped by this one to pick up one last find before heading home. It was a quick find at GZ which was a good thing given I was worried it wouldn’t be accessible due to current roadworks in the area. I did m best to add my name to the log but it’s definitely seen better days, which is almost the whole point here I was lucky to still be able to pick up the coordinates for good cache, but it’s definitely trying its best to peel away. Thanks Agent Basil for bringing me here tonight
Yeah this cache is bad, boring mint tin, barely hidden, damp, no pen … reminds me of my own caches.
Jokes. Good spot, I was just cycling past today and wondered if there were any caches near here (lol, it’s canberra) and this was quite close, so I decided to log a cache today. TFTC.

Accompanied all7 and easy spot, but log wet as difficult sign in… CO need maintenance …
Looks like this is still the original. Bit of minty history. Cache all in good condition. Tftc
Find #4342
Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to Agent Basil for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

I’m beginning to think this isn’t the hobby for a arachnophobe. Couldn’t find after bouncing from tree to tree for 20 minutes.
Although I hadn't logged this cache as a DNF before, I had looked for it once without success. This morning it was just so quick a find that I don't understand how I missed it last time. TFTC Agent Basil SL TNLPt
A quick find tonight, found fairly quickly for a micro in the cold and dark. TFTC
Thanks Agent Basil for this lesson on caches. It would appear that I have found a number of bad caches. Many in much worse condition that this. With the GPS bouncing around a bit it did take me a little while to find but finally came up with the goods. Coordinates taken and looking forward to having a look for your good cache in the near future. Cheers!
Enjoyed a Wednesday night out with onieferret while we headed out for a little adventure. TFTC
3rd cache of the night with k8tybee and quirkyraven. Nice and easy find by k8tybee. Thank you
Found the little biter and grabbed the coordinates for the good cache as a bonus, as I was only seeking one cache to maintain our 2021 streak of caching days. Now I have a puzzle cache to search for for tomorrow . TFTC
Used to ride past here day after day back in the 80s and never paid it much attention. I think the trees were newly planted at that time. Took a few minutes but not too hard to locate.
In recognition of the condition of the container the trinket I swapped in was a Coles collectible leek. Thanks for the sliding narrative on this one.
Nice one. Thanks for the cache. Found with Katie and Wild or A & A or Ashley or Jonafer and Jenathon.
A quick find on a very hot afternoon on our way home from the Yarralumla Nursery. TFTC
Quick pick up today as my cache for the day. All still intact and good to go. Not such a bad cache as its a pretty colour. TFTC Agent Basil
Once at GZ a quick find was made. Great day to be out doors, cool wind makes it very pleasant. TFTC
The joy of finding this cache was in doing so before my 2% of battery ran out!! Quick!!! Find the GZ!! Quick!!! Take a photo before it dies! Crap! Not enough battery to use the flash! Damn! Run over to the light!! Quick happy snap....phone dies. Great success! ️ TFTC!!
Now, now.... personally I find nothing wrong with a mint tin, a handy sized receptacle repurposed... in fact my first ever geocache hide is a mint tin, inspired by the mint tin that I found near TankEngine's hide Track Trauma down Captain's Flat way... and knowing how much TE dislikes the trusty Eclipse tin, my signature theme was born... although, I do like to give them a bit of love with a camo treatment. Though not camoed, your mint tin does have worthy additions, which will be sought out another day. TFTC Agent Basil
TFTC from the Viking.
What a "bad, bad" cache and hide. . . I am sure the next will be a "good, better, best" standard.
Neat idea. All good cheers

End of another busy day but at least there was fun and interesting things this afternoon with the geosons in a film shoot at a certain science centre followed by bump in for a weekend brick show nearby. So I was in need of a quick park and grab on the way home for my daily cache #335. We had tried another trad nearby but failed so this was the "fingers crossed, I hope we find this one" cache. So I totally didn't mind that it was a mint tin. The find was a relief. Now it was time to get out of this freezing cold. TFTC
We were on our way to do a power trail along Uriarra Road and we took a turn off we shouldn't have. Mr Shifter said ' This is near the Mint' and we had determined the next WP for a multi was in this area so we located it, determined the GZ for that one and realised that it was close to this one so we had to do this one also, we had not read the description before hand and when we located the container we realised that it had a clue for a puzzle so we took note of it.
You are correct in the fact that this is a bad cache, but a find is a find.
Thanks for the hide Agent Basil.

OCW with Mrs A today. With the Mega finished we did more caching today. A straight forward find. We also grab the info for the good cache. TFTC Agent Basil.
Nice one, thanks Basil! Made a quick find here on a quiet public holiday. Off to find the good cache!
Enjoying the Mega and increasing our cache count. Thanks Signed log as T.I.N.S
Fairly quick find on the way home from the shops with the help of my teenage son (who had been poking it with a stick for a couple of minutes, not realising it was the actual cache!).
And given the location of the cache, I assumed a “mint tin” was some sort of tin from the Mint, not a tin of mints. Oops!
Now off to find that good cache tomorrow!

I've ridden past here hundreds of times on my way home from work, and often thought about stopping and picking up this cache.
Until today, that is. Today I stopped and found the cache.
Unfortunately, whilst I had read the description and knew there wouldn't be a pen in the cache, I did expect to find one in my bag. That was a mistake. So, instead, I submit this picture of a mint tin, but not the bit with the interesting information on it.
Thanks for the cache Basil, now I've got a good cache to go find.

I was in the area collecting clues for another multi so figured I'd pick this one up while I was here. I searched the spot where that co-ords took me to without luck so expanded my search. Cache location was soon found 17m away from where my gps said it should be - perhaps the tree coverage was playing with my gps. Tftc.
Once again it's late at night & I'm out getting my daily. This one took a bit of finding by torchlight, but I got it & the co-ords. TFTC, Basil!
Down from Brisbane to help out while the in-laws are medically out of action & picking up a few smilies as we go.
Plenty of parking nearby.
Nice quick find where all is in good order.
Noted the coordinates for GC4J5X6.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

I stumbled around through the trees with no likely prospects on the search and then my phone went flat. Destiny ? So I headed back to the car. I thought of the cache name, turned took a last look at the trees and saw something, unconnected with the cache name, that I thought look worthy. A little prod and there was the ancient mint tin. Tftc.
Found Sunday morning in the minus conditions .
Nicely hidden and no one around .
Many thanks for the hide.
