Out in Fremantle for the morning, the wife was at a training course and I am still off work, so why not wander around. Nice to start the day with this multi.

I'm not sure why I put this one off for so long but after getting a green light on the coords and seeing that the final was on one of my running circuits as was WP 2 I set out today to get to the final.
I should say that after all the running I have done around the Coogee area I had no idea there was a bike path where WP 2 is. Somewhere else to go now when I want to put a hill in my run.
I parked to the east for this one and followed the path through the bush. Some of the the tracks were quite sandy.
Arrived at GZ and soon located the cache. I had read the previous logs about the lock being seized so I came armed with the WD40 and my multi-tool. After a bit of TLC I soon had the wheels spinning and the lock opened.

A long time has passed since we got the coords at stage 1. Today we headed off and after the diversion and a tough wander through the bush, we found it. TFTC. Quite a difficult one for us.
Haha; a long walk indeed. Once we had realized that Place 2 was a fair way we used Shank's Pony to get back to geomobile and aren't we glad we did as Place 3 would have been quite a hike indeed. A bit of fiddling around to get the closest access possible but eventually made it to GZ and signed the log. As previously noted, things have seized here (rather like my hips). Contents all in great nick and thanks for getting us to build up a decent thirst
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.
The lock is seized and needs replacing.

This is a fantastic multi!
I have had my eye on it for so long now. Initially gathering the info at the posted coordinates almost two years ago and again about eight months ago after losing the first lot.
Today I finally sat down to work out the final way-point. Gathering my young boys into the car we set off for the lock code, arriving we had a pleasant walk and soon were on our way to GZ.
Noticing straight away a sign stating to stick to the paths due to unexploded ordinance just added to the excitement, especially when we left the path to walk to GZ
Arriving at GZ we found the cache and went to unlock it, unfortunately the lock is seized and the dials wouldn't turn (i think was hinted at by the previous finders but not logged for maintenance),
Regardless of that and with the thought of carrying a 3yr old all the way back to GZ I soon found a way to add our names to the log.
On our way back to the path we found the remains of an RC aircraft crash!! (see photo)
Thanks for the fantastic multi Krabiboy, I have added a favorite point and if you would like help replacing the lock PM me and i will get it done soon.

This was an epic event for us. We found the information without too much trouble and worked out the necessary details to locate the cache. On the way down south, we stopped over to get the code information and proceeded to the gz. We couldn't figure the best way to get to gz with minimum bush bashing and took the wrong trail. Had to double back and was able to navigate a much better route with minimum bushland to cover. Arrived at gz and was able to locate the cache but had no luck opening the cache due to diallock. Signed a makeshift log and tried to get it into the cache in order to claim as a find. Have contacted the CO for permission to log under these circumstances. Great multi..great for exercise cause we got a lot of that today. TFTC, KrabiBoy.
It is appropriate for PP1 & I to find #5000 together. It really is our first milestone as an Independent Team. I gave him the choice of cache & this is the one he selected. We started in the sunshine in Freo & were intrigued by the information we gleaned from the structure. The coordinates were then calculated without problems & the code collected for the lock. Then off to find our Prize. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk up & around & around & through the Bush to GZ. Relieved to get down at dusk & watch the sun dip into the sea. Thanks to Krabiboy for our afternoon's entertainment, and for a great #5000.
I got the coords for this one a few weeks ago and came back today to get my name in the book . It was a nice cool morning for the walk to GZ and I made a quick find once there .
I am on a bit of a caching mission this month and am hoping to rack up some large numbers . A trip to power trail heaven, Adelaide, later this month should help with my plans . I decided to head to this area today and grab the smileys on offer, a big thanks to KrabiBoy for placing this container out here for us to find [^].
KrabiBoy - jinta29 found your cache A Bush Wanderer's Tribute on 17/4/17, 8:40 am. This is my find #6502 and find #1 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for bringing us to this location and adding to the wonderful spirit of this game!

after completing the required sections on our last trip to Fremantle today was the day to find this Multi. a short walk had cache in hand. TFTH TFTC
Nice quick find with cravo10 after he did all the hard work sorting this multi out. Thanks Krabi boy.
So we finished the previous Krabi multi and decide it's time to head home, we get to the T junction but the allure of completing the next multi and the last of KrabiBoys caches in this area won over and we head into Freo to get the co ords.
The kids ran to the park whilst we brushed up on our history. And then sat down to work the co ords out. Alas we had no paper. No worries, the back of a thong worked just fine! LOL
After punching our details in the geo checker we did a double take - really? No. yes it was right. So we head off again. Grab the 3 digit code and then off to the GZ.
It was a long sandy walk with the kids but we had fun:) we walked a little further than necessary but it enabled us to take a less prickly route to the cache and we came out scratch free and with one big fat smiley on the map!
After all this - it was time for KFC and the much deserved couch. We had an awesome afternoon doing your caches Krabiboy:) thanks heaps!

I have replaced the badly burnt container with a new cache and lock mechanism. Listing has been updated to reflect the changes at the second waypoint. This one is good to go again.
I have the parts required and will be heading out to replace the container and update the listing in the next two weeks. A bit hard to maintain any sooner as I work FIFO.
I hope to get this one back up and running in the next few weeks. A nice multi, could only do my part and let it live on.
I was heading out to Fremantle to catch some pokemon and find a few caches, but the servers went down while I was on the way.
I decided to stop off and find some of the caches in the area that have previously escaped me.
I have had the solved location for this one for a few months now, but wasn't able to get the code for the lock. I decoded to come and spend some time running through each of the possible combinations. When I arrived at GZ though, it became apparent that even if I had the code, I wasn't going to be able to access the contents. A fire has been through the area which this is hidden, and the ammo can has copped a direct hit. The lock mechanism has completely melted and the can has buckled.
I really enjoyed this multi, hopefully the CO can make some repairs, and get this one back running again. For now, it needs to be disabled and repaired.
Email sent to CO with photos. I am happy to adopt this listing if needed to ensure this great cache can stay in play.
TFTC Aushiker.
Aushiker, I found your cache A Bush Wanderer's Tribute on 13/07/2016.

The first stage of this multi was completed some time ago, today was the day to finish it off. The surrounding scrub was very hard for us to negotiate but, in due course the log was found and we were pushing our way back out again. Thanks for a very interesting multi Aushiker.
Back in Fremantle again for another week. Jump Pilot and I figured the GZ for this one yesterday before driving and walking to GZ this morning. Thanks Aushiker
Great multi, simple straight forward design, & I like the use of visual elements that already exist in the community.
Lock in working order, cache in position as intended.

Came out for a drive with the better half and Mistraluna doing caches around the area.
Had visited the listed coordinates some time ago and worked out where to go but hadn't gone to the code coordinates so left it for another time. Today we came and got the code and then went onto the final GZ and had a pleasant walk to the cache.
Thanks Aushiker for the cache.

My companion had done the clue collecting in Freo some time back, but hadn't got around to going to the next waypoint or final gz. We were in the right area today, so stopped and found what we hoped were the right numbers to help us claim our smileys once at gz. Like Skulduggery, we approached gz via a very hazardous and prickly route, but it was all worth it once we heard the click as the lock opened for us. Very well put together multi Aushiker.
PS The direct route from the beach side takes you through some areas where there are warning signs about unexploded ordinance (found the signs on the way back). Maybe future finders should consider approaching from the south or south east, just to be on the safe side.

I got the first waypoint alright but the combination code location lead me to a building site! Please check, thanks!
Unless the bridge over the railway line has been replaced by a building those coordinates are correct. I note that finder found it okay just two days before.
What an adventure! First a nice bit of clue collecting in nice part of Freo. Then a fun night time clue collect at WP2 though my torch and eyes weren't quite up to the job. Then the bush bash which I am sure I managed from the worst access point possible. I hid my bike and was not dressed appropriately for the scratchy bushes. So relieved when the cache opened and I then knew I had got the numbers correct. All in all a great multi. Thanks Aushiker.
Oh... but when cycling away realised I had left my sunnies at GZ (cheapies). Oh well. Not going back.

I had couple of things to do in Freo today, then stopped by at the first waypoint to grab the details and work out the coordinates for this cache, which has been on my to-do list since it was published. When I plugged the coords into my GPSr and saw the distance and bearing, I realised that it wasn't far from home and in an area that I am reasonably familiar with, so decided to take a detour and complete the cache. Stopped off to grab the combination details, then headed for GZ.
I arrived at a car-park at Henderson Cliffs and found that my GZ was some 400 metres off-shore ... Hmmm, that doesn't match the description ... but was a bonus for a TB I'm looking after that likes going to the beach.
A quick check and found that I had missed a subtraction in my calculations and my GZ was due West of the real GZ. So I went to a different car-park and found a way into GZ from there to make a quick find on arrival.
Signed the log. Thanks for the hide Aushikers ... a fav for this one for the effort that went into it.

Well...that was caching on an epic scale. I've been working on completing my D/T matrix and did a search and found that doing this would knock one off I didn't have. Additionally I'm trying to get more multi's in...as an owner of one I know they have trouble attracting cachers.
Anyway, down to Freon first thing in the morning to check the statue for the right info. Back home and work out the coordinates...run the geo-checker and get a Green light. Do a projection to get an idea of the final location and had a WTF! Moment. Thank heavens there is a geo checker or I would have rejected it.
Off with geo daughter to find the combo clue and had a bit of a walk there...passed by a Freo Docker on a walk as well. Got the clue and drive down to the final and park up and realise I've got a he'll of a walk with a 5 years old in tow. So she's up on my shoulders doing our bush wandering tribute back and forth to the cache on the hottest day of summer so far.
Thankfully we found it right where the coordinates indicated. Then I had to work out the combination. You might want to change the clue to the "Sum of the three signs" not a combination of the three signs as that could be a range of things.
Thankfully I can tick this one off. It's way more difficult than 1 1/2 stars too...but worth remembering so have a favourite point from me.

We collected the information at w/p1 last weekend while in Fremantle and got the 'green light' for gz . Dropped by w/p2 today to get the numbers required for the lock and headed to gz. Sure glad there was a geo-checker included or we would have thought we'd made an enormous blunder. Found we had the area to ourselves this morning, so after parking the geo-Patrol, strolled to gz to make a quick find. The combination worked so we were soon recording our visit and collecting another smiley. Thanks Aushiker.
FTF@10:55 Epic cache adventure! This had everything...puzzles, wind, rain, immense suffering, inappropriate footwear, killer mosquito cache guardians...I did it in the wrong order in that I completed the puzzle aspect from home so I had only to go to the Lock Code waypoint and then on to the final GZ. In sympathy with the early bush wanderers I made it harder by parking at the first waypoint and riding to the GZ, and let's just say that's further than I expected it to be when I set off. Some huge downpours and howling winds coming off the sea, combined with the aforementioned inappropriate footwear, made this a tough ride out and back. The last k was on boggy sand which the rain hadn't packed down well enough to make it all rideable, so there was a bit of hike-a-bike required, coming in from the east. There is a hard surface path running north south which was very handy. There were two quick finds at the GZ - me finding the cache, and the killer mosquito cache guardians finding my lower legs. I wrestled with about 10 of them while unlocking and locking the cache. I was thoroughly soaked all over by the time I got back to the car. I decided to head back into Freo to finish what I should have started with, and give the memorial a proper look over. The two inscriptions really do make you think about how history is written by the winners, although there weren't many of those back in the mid-1800's. The next time we bring the kids to play down here we will all be having a proper read and hopefully it will prompt some good debate. Thanks for this excellent cache (and a well-sized cache container) which is on a truly epic scale, and well worth a fave point.
