Today I had the day off work, and so with a new geocaching souvenir for the winter solstice up for grabs, I headed towards Peel. Cache was quickly located, however the container is cracked and will need to be replaced before the log becomes ruined.

The second day of geocaching in the wider area of Bathurst with Team Canary, Brewmaker, Noodles21, ziggiau and Rainbow Spirit.
From our base in Bathurst, we spend the second day driving through the wider area to pick up many of the solved puzzle caches, with a few other caches types in between.

Lots of animals were spotted: roos, blue tongue lizards, shingleback lizards, galahs, lots of sheep and turtles.
Logs were signed with the team name BRINTZ.

On the trip we enountered many animals in our path, Blue toungue lizards, shingleback lizards, roos, bunnies and a lot of sheep!
We finished the loop in time for lunch. afterwards most of us went back out to do another round before heading back to town for a CCE event.

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.

Today we went on a cache collecting loop drive up Sofala Road, then along Pymonts Lane, and returning to Bathurst via Limekilns Road & Marsden Lane. Took a slight detour, off Sofala Road, for an interesting visit to Peel Cemetery. Finished the day with a few finds around the Kelso area. This was the 11th of 30 finds for the day (day 4), and 61st find of the holiday.

Another puzzle solved by the family's chief puzzle solver before leaving home, and a nice quick find at GZ today. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks Alwyn255 & Becon4046 for the puzzle & cache.

Day 2
With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild. Our intention was to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area.
We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure. Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.

Had solved a heap of puzzles prior to our trip up to Bathurst, what else is there to do during lock down. It was nice to be able to finally pick them up.

Thanks for the hide and puzzle Alwyn255 & Becon4046 and thanks Rapidlywild for another great weekend away.

With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.

Solved a heap of puzzles by Becon4046 & Alwyn255 before heading towards Bathurst. Its great to be able to turn a large number of these solved puzzles into smilie faces SmileBig Grin

Thanks for the hide Alwyn255 Big Grin And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others Big Grin

We are enabling our caches as travel is now allowed. Please remember that Covid-19 lives for up to 3 days on plastic surfaces. Keep yourself and others safe by using hand sanitiser or gloves.

31-Mar-20
We are shutting down our caches while the Coronavirus lock-down is in place. We want to protect every finder as current information indicates that the virus can linger on plastic surfaces for up to 9 days. Many caches are near people's homes and we cannot encourage anyone to spread this virus.
Stay safe and heed the doctors advice to stay home if you can.

Day 3 in Mudgee and our last. Today was for picking up the middle sectioon of the TRLT series before moving on to Bathurst. A more enjoyable day as the wind had eased and this section of the road has been graded. A long day as we had to get to Sofala as this will be the end point from Bathurst.

OCW frazerdaze and marj01. House sitting at White Rock for a week has provided an opportunity to do some geocaching runs around Bathurst - mainly TRLT series indispersed with a number of trads and puzzle caches. During the day we saw lovely scenery, lots of sheep and cattle, a few foxes and one deer in the forestry area. We even encountered fire persons doing a burn off which included two of the caches we were chasing. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches and adding to our enjoyment. For expediency all logs were signed OMF.

Coords are spot on. Puzzle was fun. I enjoyed solving a large number of puzzles last week after dinner as I’m only starting to get my puzzle legs happening. A few early rookie errors early on meant I’d avoided them largely until recently. Thankyou for the training opportunity! Off to log some more I’d pre solved!

#1849 I had plans to go somewhere else this morning with the intention of knocking of a few more hide dates & hide months which I had plugged into the GPSr but then the call from alnic39 first for a puzzle to be solved then did I want to come. Always fun with adlib caching. My GPSr came preloaded with caches but they are only trads and the newest logs are from March 2017 so that is much so have to follow alnic39 only a few times did I have coords so I had to follow Al around then at the end had to get a list of the caches we ended up doing.

This was the 17th another solved puzzle from a few nights ago to add to the list of solved caches to get while in the area today. A nice find whike doing the rounds of the area

We signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Alwyn255 & Becon4046

We discovered all those many a couple of days ago.

We have solved all the interesting mysteries before we started our trip to the Mid Western Region of NSW.

Day 1

We started the day in Meadow Flat, followed by Sunny Corner and Dark Corner past Palmers Oakley.
We loved the hilly nature along many peaceful Gravel roads. Many smilies were forming on our map.
We finished the day in Bathurst.

Day 2

We started all fresh again in the morning. Leaving Bathurst, we were able to get going about faster along the sealed road.
We reached Sofala at around lunch time. We couldn't believe that about 40,000 used to live here. It really seemed that the city stopped developing in around the 1850's..
We continued towards Hills End and Windeyer through dry grassy land in 47 degrees heat.
We spend such a beautiful night here in Windeyer in the caravan park. We booked one of the train accomodation where you got to stay in the train back in time. What a great experience. We really liked Windeyer as it seemed so far away from all the city rush. Te locals were very welcoming and were happy to see us in the pub next door for dinner.
What a great community living were it seems like everyone knows everyone.

Day 3

We left Windeyer after a big breakfast. We travelled along Hills End Road until we reached the turn towards another Gravel road. There wer many animals to watch and it got even hotter and hotter.
This day ended in Mudgee.

Day 4

We took a look at Mudgee city today were we searched for a couple of caches and ten continued towards Rylstone.
After we continued to the Wollemi National Park which a good friend recommended us to go. Here we climbed on the top of the mountain and simply enjoyed the stunning view and the tranquil nature.
After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.

We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.

Thanks

Out today with Paul the Hippy. Thanks hippy for driving me around grabbing these caches. We had a great day, even when I got a little grumpy at the end of the day. Woke up after spending the night at medow flats. Had a lovely time finding the ones towards Sunny corner. we even went for a walk and grabbed a few which werent on the series. Got to sunny corner and checked out the old tennis court and dance hall.
After sunny corner we continued to dark corner (great with names out here). Visited acouple of cemeteries and continued down the road until it turned dirt. This was our favourite section oof the series as no cars and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.
Past Mount horrible we went, thinking why is this called horrible and then onto the tar again. Completed a few puzzles and then back on the series.
Following the black top we went, here the pull offs were better then the second section of the series. Loved the town of Peel, where we grabbed a puzzle and acouple in this series. Got to wattle flat and was exhausted. Had fun with the blackberries in the dead center (NOT). Finally made our way to sofala. Lots of history here and visited another cemetery for a puzzle. Thanks for all the caches, lots of hard work went into these and really enjoyed them. Cheers mr_roo

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there Alwyn255. We found your cache "B Group" at 10:26:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 11976.
[Blue]
Today was "Puzzle Day" With all the rain lately we have spent lots of time in the caravan solving puzzles. As this was our last day in Bathurst we just had to go out and log all the ones we have solved - - we have been up and down this road so many times in the last week the car almost knows where to stop all on its own. Wink

Today we ended up logging 18 and (DNF'd 3), although not all the finds were puzzles.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards

With Rats and the mini rats wanting to use the upcoming Mega as a significant milestone we were starting to look around for some quick numbers when this powertrail popped up. The timing couldn’t have been better and plans were soon hatched for a trip out west.

Teaming up with Mizmaz we had a comfortable 2 day drive through some spectacular countryside and under perfect weather we found this cache and many of the other caches that neighbour this new powertrail.

Thanks for the cache Smile

The mini rats have officially completed our first powertrail. Helping Mizmaz and the Rats we went in search of some quick numbers. We had a lot of fun finding the caches and camping along the way, except for the cold overnight temps in Sofala.

We didn’t sign all the logs as we are using the Melbourne Mega as our 1000th find, but we did enjoy the experience and the beautiful country side. Thanks for the caches and to everyone that hid them. Big GrinRazz

We decided to find some caches on our way back home after visiting the zoo in Dubbo.
Geodad and I solved the puzzles last night. I was the acted as the "geo-checker" and solved them myself to make sure he didn't make a mistake.
Took a detour in Bathurst to pick them up before going back to Sydney.

I took a little longer than geodad as I didn't know what I was looking for at the beginning.
Quick find.

Thanks Alwyn255 & Becon4046 for creating puzzles that all of us enjoyed solving.
