We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went on a cache collecting loop drive up Sofala Road, then along Pymonts Lane, and returning to Bathurst via Limekilns Road & Marsden Lane. Took a slight detour, off Sofala Road, for an interesting visit to Peel Cemetery. Finished the day with a few finds around the Kelso area. This was the 18th of 30 finds for the day (day 4), and 68th find of the holiday.
Another puzzle solved by the family's chief puzzle solver before leaving home, and a nice quick find at GZ today. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks Alwyn255 & Becon4046 for the puzzle & cache.

The start of a fabulous adventure. Kicking off a NSW Discovery holiday with nibletricecakes and k8tybee by starting with a group invasion with kittykatch, joolay, smittengranny, barb2e, and onieferret around Bathurst tackling many puzzles and some strands of the TRLT trail. We are enabling our caches as travel is now allowed. Please remember that Covid-19 lives for up to 3 days on plastic surfaces. Keep yourself and others safe by using hand sanitiser or gloves.
We are shutting down our caches while the Coronavirus lock-down is in place. We want to protect every finder as current information indicates that the virus can linger on plastic surfaces for up to 9 days. Many caches are near people's homes and we cannot encourage anyone to spread this virus.
Stay safe and heed the doctors advice to stay home if you can.

Day 3 in Mudgee and our last. Today was for picking up the middle sectioon of the TRLT series before moving on to Bathurst. A more enjoyable day as the wind had eased and this section of the road has been graded. A long day as we had to get to Sofala as this will be the end point from Bathurst.

I was in two minds about finding this cache [:o]
One mind said "find the cache"
The other said "you've got zero chance"
The ones had lined up though,
and I zeroed in on the cache

OCW frazerdaze and marj01. House sitting at White Rock for a week has provided an opportunity to do some geocaching runs around Bathurst - mainly TRLT series indispersed with a number of trads and puzzle caches. During the day we saw lovely scenery, lots of sheep and cattle, a few foxes and one deer in the forestry area. We even encountered fire persons doing a burn off which included two of the caches we were chasing. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches and adding to our enjoyment. For expediency all logs were signed OMF.
On a big weekend caching with oldmorty and Frazeydaze and logs have signed OMF.
Would like to thank all cache owners, for making and maintaining the caches.

Loved these puzzles in the area. Worked out as many as we could but doubt we will have time to look for them all but we will do our best. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Half of the team doesn't know much about codes so did well to work this out on her own. Thanks for the cache.
Day Two of my Bathurst run. Collecting some pre solved puzzles and traditionals on the route. Gorgeous fresh morning! signed log as S15
#1852 I had plans to go somewhere else this morning with the intention of knocking of a few more hide dates & hide months which I had plugged into the GPSr but then the call from alnic39 first for a puzzle to be solved then did I want to come. Always fun with adlib caching. My GPSr came preloaded with caches but they are only trads and the newest logs are from March 2017 so that is much so have to follow alnic39 only a few times did I have coords so I had to follow Al around then at the end had to get a list of the caches we ended up doing.
This was the 20th find for the day & it was another solved the puzzle from a few nights ago to add to the list of solved caches to get while in the area today. A nice quick discovery. It was interesting using the AN39 app for solving puzzles for a while
We signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Alwyn255 & Becon4046

Spent the day outdoors collecting puzzle caches that I had previously solved. Great weather for it as I made my way in and around my new town. A range of interesting puzzles out there to be solved and I'm looking forward to hiding some of my own. The caches I found today were easy enough with the help of my partner. Thanks for the caches

Found as part of a weekend away with Hoojar. We headed up towards Gulgong the first night and camped near the start/ end of TRLT (@ -5 degrees ). The next day we made it through some nice historic places and great rolling countryside to finish up at Sunny Corner after a feed in Bathurst. The next day a few more finds before we headed home. Plenty of roadkill spotted, not many cars and not too much trouble at each cache. Thanks to all those cache hiders .
The opportunity finally arose that Steeba and I both had a free weekend to go caching. We quickly settled upon the northern half of The Road Less Traveled series. We drove to Gulgong via Mudgee after work on Friday, camping just before midnight at the suggested TSR nearby.
Saturday we made our way via the caching trail, and the odd additional cache, to Bathurst for dinner, then back onto the trail to Sunny Corner where we again camped for the evening.
Sunday we turned our heads for home, via a few additional cache stops in Portland and Wallerawang.
A fantastic weekend away, with excellent country to be seen and company to be had. We enjoyed the caches that we found.
Thank you to all of the cache owners, and sorry for the boiler-plate logs!

14065. Found with specimenX during another run around finding the southern half of the TRLT series plus any others as we could squeeze in.
Another big day out with Caching Wench Number 1 starting with an early departure from Canberra, with perfect weather for our ramble along those country roads for many many finds. We found all the caches to be good sized containers and nice hides. Next find of the day. Quick find at GZ with the torch as the sun had gone by now. I had DNF'd this one last month so it was nice to make the find this time. Signed the log, returned the cache, and we headed off to the next one.

Sure, this is supposed to be a mystery cache, but having found the cache on the way north with Canary, it's even a bigger mystery to us, now.
Toriaz and I looked for the cache not too long ago. Admittedly, we looked at night time with flash lights. However, there aren't too many places to hide a cache on this structure, not even a nano, and we both gave it a thorough look, as well as using our hands to feel. Nothing. Toriaz wrote our DNF log. We wondered whether it was gone. But then there were more finds. What did we miss?
We were heading north with Canary today to find another cache. But we decided to stop here again. Canary said the find was easy and even gave us the colour of the nano. He waited in the car while Toriaz and I went to look again. We both found the cache instantly.
Now, when I say, "We both found the cache", that is not to say that we both spotted the same cache at the same time. What happened, instead, was that we both said "I found it" in the same instant, within two seconds of reaching the spot again, but we had each found a different nano. I found the nano of the colour Canary described while Toriaz found another, about a foot apart.
So having been unable to find anything after an extensive search, we now instantly found two caches without even trying. That's the true mystery of binary for us: two caches for a binary cache. Maybe not so mysterious!
We decided to sign the logs of both caches and added Canary's name to the one he hadn't signed, just to cover ourselves. Thanks

This was a very strange find, as bikerbuddy has described. Was the universe trying to tell us something, by making us miss what should have been an easy find here last time, but compensating with two containers to find this time.
We wrote our name in both containers, and added Canary's name to the one he hadn't signed the previous day, so we're covered. Unless containers keep multipying around here
Thanks

Certainly binary! I'd done the numbers back home before this western jaunt. We searched for a while before finding a cache and then found its darker predecessor a metre away. Signed both to make sure. Thanks again becon4046.

Another quick solve and find.

Another quick solve and find.
TFTC.
We discovered all those many a couple of days ago.
We have solved all the interesting mysteries before we started our trip to the Mid Western Region of NSW.
Day 1
We started the day in Meadow Flat, followed by Sunny Corner and Dark Corner past Palmers Oakley.
We loved the hilly nature along many peaceful Gravel roads. Many smilies were forming on our map.
We finished the day in Bathurst.
Day 2
We started all fresh again in the morning. Leaving Bathurst, we were able to get going about faster along the sealed road.
We reached Sofala at around lunch time. We couldn't believe that about 40,000 used to live here. It really seemed that the city stopped developing in around the 1850's..
We continued towards Hills End and Windeyer through dry grassy land in 47 degrees heat.
We spend such a beautiful night here in Windeyer in the caravan park. We booked one of the train accomodation where you got to stay in the train back in time. What a great experience. We really liked Windeyer as it seemed so far away from all the city rush. Te locals were very welcoming and were happy to see us in the pub next door for dinner.
What a great community living were it seems like everyone knows everyone.
Day 3
We left Windeyer after a big breakfast. We travelled along Hills End Road until we reached the turn towards another Gravel road. There wer many animals to watch and it got even hotter and hotter.
This day ended in Mudgee.
Day 4
We took a look at Mudgee city today were we searched for a couple of caches and ten continued towards Rylstone.
After we continued to the Wollemi National Park which a good friend recommended us to go. Here we climbed on the top of the mountain and simply enjoyed the stunning view and the tranquil nature.
After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.
We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.
Thanks

After, we traveled towards Kandos, Capertee, Cullen Bullen, Portland and Wallerawang back home to Sydney.
We hereby would like to thank all owners for this great interesting tour. We got to see many historical places and sometimes felt like as if we were living back in the the 1850's, which is a good thing.
Thanks

Out today with Paul the Hippy. Thanks hippy for driving me around grabbing these caches. We had a great day, even when I got a little grumpy at the end of the day. Woke up after spending the night at medow flats. Had a lovely time finding the ones towards Sunny corner. we even went for a walk and grabbed a few which werent on the series. Got to sunny corner and checked out the old tennis court and dance hall.
After sunny corner we continued to dark corner (great with names out here). Visited acouple of cemeteries and continued down the road until it turned dirt. This was our favourite section oof the series as no cars and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.
Past Mount horrible we went, thinking why is this called horrible and then onto the tar again. Completed a few puzzles and then back on the series.
Following the black top we went, here the pull offs were better then the second section of the series. Loved the town of Peel, where we grabbed a puzzle and acouple in this series. Got to wattle flat and was exhausted. Had fun with the blackberries in the dead center (NOT). Finally made our way to sofala. Lots of history here and visited another cemetery for a puzzle. Thanks for all the caches, lots of hard work went into these and really enjoyed them. Cheers mr_roo

A find made with Mr Roo, on a days travelling through the area doing a few caches on a series known as the road less travelled, which soon became a busy highway of a lot of traffic. TFTC TNLN
Hi there becon4046. We found your cache "Binary" at 10:52:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 11981.

Today was "Puzzle Day" With all the rain lately we have spent lots of time in the caravan solving puzzles. As this was our last day in Bathurst we just had to go out and log all the ones we have solved - - we have been up and down this road so many times in the last week the car almost knows where to stop all on its own.
Today we ended up logging 18 and (DNF'd 3), although not all the finds were puzzles.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

After being so happy to finally find Ben Chifley, and to them discover that out solution to Bathurst Blues was also correct (another find$, we were brought back down to earth with a DNF here. I've since checked my solution, and don't think I made made a mistake, so maybe we just didn't spot it in the dark.
Another puzzle that was fun to do and resulted in finding the cache and getting a smiley. TFTC.
Today was the day to complete my biggest cache run to date. From Mudgee to Gulgong and then follow The Road Less Traveled series and the surrounding caches. I started nice and early at 7:30am, and didn't finish until 11 at night! On the way I saw plenty of lizards, the first snake of the season and smelt many rotting road kill during the day, and at night I had the live kangaroos, wombats, possums and probably all the flying insects banging into my head when I had the torch on.
Over all the experience was worth it and great big thank you to the CO's who put all of the caches out there.
The binary bit was easy to solve, but then I figured something else had to change to give a good gz.

As I was staying at Mount Victoria for the weekend, I had one day free to do a spot of caching. It was suggested by more than one person (my wife included) that I should visit the TRLT series...so I made a plan to try and find as many of them as I could today. This was another puzzle solved on the side of the road today, and managed to pick it up en route to the next cache in the series.
Gratias becon4046.

With Rats and the mini rats wanting to use the upcoming Mega as a significant milestone we were starting to look around for some quick numbers when this powertrail popped up. The timing couldn’t have been better and plans were soon hatched for a trip out west.
Teaming up with Mizmaz we had a comfortable 2 day drive through some spectacular countryside and under perfect weather we found this cache and many of the other caches that neighbour this new powertrail.
Thanks for the cache

The mini rats have officially completed our first powertrail. Helping Mizmaz and the Rats we went in search of some quick numbers. We had a lot of fun finding the caches and camping along the way, except for the cold overnight temps in Sofala.
We didn’t sign all the logs as we are using the Melbourne Mega as our 1000th find, but we did enjoy the experience and the beautiful country side. Thanks for the caches and to everyone that hid them.

Bonus detour drive-by while doing the TRLT powertrail. Normally don’t include puzzles while on roadtrips with a specific agenda but these were easy enough to do at home and come prepared. Will include a few more in the series when I head to Bathurst end of next month. Lucky to spot this tiny container which was almost lost in the long grass when I dropped the lid.
Winter weekend in Bathurst and Surrounds with Sol de Lune. With the puzzles solved we headed out along the B road to collect them. This was the last puzzle for us so we grabbed this one and moved on.
Thanks.
