So glad we stopped for this cache. Quick find once we were on the right track. TFTC
Injeanious and I travelled over to greymouth for Easter weekend. We had fun picking up lots of different caches, and had a few dnfs as well. No need to cross the road for this one, found by the walking track. Tftc!
We thought this cache was on the opposite side of the road judging by the map location and looking at the gps. But nope it was in a sensible place down by the path and the gps eventually agreed. Tftc.
Went looking for this one while visiting Brunner site. I looked and looked and nearly gave up but I had one more look and there it was. TFTC
On a stroll around the Brunner Mine today, I followed one of the trails to GZ
The GPS insisted that GZ was across the road, which seemed like a silly spot for the cache to be, so I looked elsewhere
Elsewhere was where I found the cache

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

FIN (laalaa, janahola, temyllyl, kapeka) holiday in New Zealand. Marvelous country and nice landscape. Today we are going to Christchurch.

Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.
Eighth day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. Heading to Christchurch Mega event. Todays route took us through Arthurs Pass and some spectacular views by mountains.
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today we drove from Greymouth to Christchurch. Of course some caching on the way. Our plan was to get there in time to Twilight Picnic event. And we did it. This took some time to find. TFTC!

Trees and hills must have been playing with the iPhone because it was sending us across the road, fortunately the GPS was more reliable. An interesting site to visit and a cachey walk to finish. TFTC Ariestiger.
Another great find touring around the South Island while making my way to the Mega. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of this trip.
Found after a short search.

It's the final day of NZDi's and my Blenheim - Christchurch - Greymouth - Blenheim triangular caching trip. The plan for the day was to pick up souvenir pack of cards from the coast, by the Wet Coast weather is living up to its name and if it keeps up like this I think we will be heading straight home. The weather report for the Nelson region looks a bit better with no rain, so I have loaded some caches along that route into my mobile just incase we decide to go that way home. Our logs were annotated Kiwimykl and NZDi, KM & ND or variations there of.
As we were approaching this location, I noticed 3 or 4 caches and as it was only drizzling at this stage we decided to stop and have a look. We have visited this area in the time BC (before caching) and thought the displays were well presented, although it does have a somber note to it, almost the same as the Arizona Memorial which we visited a couple of months ago in Hawaii.
We approached this cache along the road from the Memorial site and c:geo was indicating a GZ in the middle of the road. After looking on both sides of the road rather skeptically, we noticed the track leading back down they hill and the light bulb illuminated. The cache was found soon after.

Tried the lower level 4 months ago, nothing for me
Tried the upper level today, nothing again except a spinning G P S.
Nemesis cache!

Well, this cache was a surprise. The track start point was not near the cache - obvious, perhaps. But it helps if we knew where it was - could the CO add a trailhead waypoint please? The next surprise was that the coordinates were quite some way oput - quite some way for the CO that is. His (he?) coordinates are usually bank on. Okay, there is trees and a big bank blocking half the sattelites, but still.
Alas, we could only spend 10 minutes searching. Given that it could be almost anywhere, and the difficult is way more than the cache description suggests, we'll leave this for another day, hopefully the coords will have been corrected by then. As it is it was 9:30 when we got home!

We were feeling too antsy to stay home on this rainy weekend so decided to be brave, put on our wet weather gear and go caching anyway. In a break in the weather we ran down to this one only to realise we'd left the pen in the car! Someone was walking the track behind us so we rehid it and hurried back. Turns out the "someone" was actually a fellow cacher too, who signed the log by the time we'd returned. Good to see we weren't the only ones braving the elements.
6808. Very wet and rough weather today so, after going to church in Greymouth, we went out to lunch at a lovely cafe upstairs near the railway station. Then decided we would risk driving up through Taylorville, across through Moana, out through Inchbonnie and back to Kumara, geocaching all the way. This was cache find number two of twenty for the afternoon. The weather stayed horrible the whole time! Thanks for the simple cache and the pleasant little walk in the rain. Rodney and Iris.k
What a nice and interesting stop on our way from Greymouth to Nelson Lakes. This is the last one before lunch because Reznik is getting grumpy.

This one took a while. Our gps was way out with this one. Happy to find as last one for the day. TFTC Ariestiger
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. A quick easy find on our way past.
On an epic caching mission with Surveybase to North canterbury, Waipara, Culverdon, Springs Junction, Reefton, Greymouth, Arthurs Pass and back to Rangiora over two days. Final count for the weekend was Saturday 124 caches, Sunday 80 caches. not a bad weekends work. sorry for the cut and paste but it would take forever to log them all. Took a bit to find as GPS was all over the place. Eventually found in a spot that matched the diff/terr. TFTC.
Heading homeward after a weekend in the area, we decided to take the alternative route to Ikamatua and grab the caches along this road. We have previously wandered around the Brunner Site but had missed seeing this track here and that there was a cache on it, until today that is. Thank you Ariestiger.
Returning home from Greymouth we decided to stay on "the other side" of the river till Ikimatua and do some caches on the way. The GPS got us at what looked like a good spot. No luck though. We would have thought of another place so went for a lookie and soon had the log to sign. We've visited the historic site a few times but it was a first for this lovely short track. Thank you Ariestiger for placing this cache.
Had previously done the Brunner walk, but not this delightful short bush track. Thanks for bringing me here. The container took a while to spot from the direction I approached but it's not too hard really. TFTC.
Well that took a lot longer than it should have. Hmm. Could it be because your ground level is my shin level? A nice wee walk and find. Thanks.
Heading In to greymouth for the days caching with geodoggies Coco and Milo and Nosynel too. Had to stop and grab this one was a lovely walk. Cheers.
Found after a stroll round the Brunner mine site. Strong smell of sulphur around here! Tftc
Found it nice wee hiding place that girls enjoyed looking for - glad not on that busy road!
Original thought this was road side then discovered the more likely spot - much better with the small ones! TFTC
Wow, there's room for another Brunner cache. I thought all the spots were taken.
It was great to revisit an old favourite location. The cache took a while to find. TFTc

Parked up and stretched the legs at this cache. A short stroll and sign before the earthcache and whereigo. Cheers

I had been wanting to come over caching to Greymouth for a while, since I had never yet been caching further than the West Coast CANZ cache!!
Spur of the moment, a trip was planned, and I decided to head off on Friday after work. However realised we had monthly after work drinks! Ah, stayed for that then, and then left.
Got after the wherigo after stopping at the car to grab a banana... mmm I love bananas.
Easy find

Walked along the walkway to here after collecting the info for the earthcache at the mine. Could almost be a park and grab. Congratulations to gracie7 + mum on achieving the 31 day challenge - I hope they had a lot of fun doing it.
A quick visit to town ended up much longer than planned...could not resist a few caches. The last cache here had disappeared when we came hunting. So, thanks for this one.

What an awesome surprise, Thanks Sis. It came at just the right time aswell, We have been struggling to make a find each day. After looking at Google Earth I kinda new where it would be but we didnt turn the GPS on until we got out here and due to either clouds or bush the GPS never went under 9m of accuracy and was quite out at GZ. It was still a fast find as there arnt many places to hide it and the rock on top was quite obvious. Thanks for the cache
