We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to Critter2 for the generation of this nice cache Takarakka Look Out (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Quick find thanks to great hint and directions. Have left notepaper as a temporary replacement log in baggie. Great view but a shame its smoky and a bit cloudy . Thanks for bringing us here
Lovely spot to visit on our holiday, unfortunately cache was open and logbook missing. TFTC
Found cache container opened and contents spread wide, no sign of log anywhere. Put cache back together and rehid. Sorry didnt have anything to replace log with.
My legs were burning after this little trek uphill but the view was well worth it. TFTC
Stopped here at Carnarvon Gorge for a couple of days on our way to Cape York. After completing a 12km walk into the gorge yesterday, today, we started the day with the short but steep walk to the lookout to locate this cache. After checking in to the caravan park as a visitor and parking in their visitor carpark we made our way to the lookout. After a short search it was Mrs. Pooky who made the find. TF placing the cache for us to find on our travels and bringing us to this spot which we would not have known about had it not been for caching.
Carnarvon Gorge has been on my radar for a while and we are so glad we came out here. Legs were tied after a huge walk yesterday, but I needed to grab the only local cache. TFTC
I was staying in the Van park for a few nights and took the stroll up the hill to enjoy the views sitting on the bench provided before looking for the cache, easily found, log signed and returned as found, thanks for placing andTFTC
#5710 [11:59] long weekend ahead, lucky coincidence allowed me to join crookedpete to his carnarvon trip. this is where we started our mission and enjoyed first gorge views. still full of energy after long drive, keen to do a bit of exercise thanks for bringing us to this nice lookout!
I love squeezing every last second out of public holidays which usually combine with RDO's at work. So, with a 4 day long weekend in the offing , a few weeks ago I reviewed my adventure wish list and decided that a solo hike Carnarvon Gorge and specifically Battleship Spur would fit the bill.Viko Cz subsequently messaged me to say he was back in Australia for business for a few weeks and had some weekends free for a geocaching adventure, and was also keen to visit Carnarvon.Today, after a late-ish start (too late for the 4.30 am dawn service anyway), we set about cleaning up the balance of the local Roma caches, before grabbing some breakfast and heading north to Carnarvon. This was another poor lonely cache that deserved some attention. I am always uncomfortable entering these places when not staying there, so we parked near the gate and then walked up the fire trail on the ridge line past the water tanks. It was a nice quick find at GZ. We briefly enjoyed the view. On the return journey, there were workers at the tanks, so we headed down the hill into the camp ground and then walked to the entry gate. At the gate, we were bailed up by a worker who asked what we were up to. It turns out that the camp ground doesn't mind visitors - they just want them to register at the office before entering. Many thanks Critter2Lest we forget.Pete#7,857
What an awesome evening view here tonight. We weren't quite sure how to access the cache, but went into the park and all good to walk up to the lookout. TFTC
I called by Carnarvon Gorge to check out the area and find a couple of the caches after the QOGM events around Longreach. This was the first time Ive been here. Quite a spectacular and obviously very popular area..I left Adelaide about 10 days ago and travelled up to Longreach via Broken Hill, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Blackall and Barcaldine, finding caches of interest along the way. The plan is to return via Carnarvon Gorge, Brisbane, then more or less down the NSW coast to Sydney, then back to Adelaide over the next 2 1/2 weeks, hopefully picking up a few more target caches. But who knows where Ill end up!So far Ive had good weather, although it was a bit hot during the QOGM events. I am hoping it continues, albeit a little cooler, for the remainder of the trip. Today the weather was just about perfect, although perhaps just a tad warm for me to be walking too far. Thanks Critter2 for the cache, which has contributed to an interesting and enjoyable trip.
After the nice hikes in the Carnarvon Gorge I came here to catch the only tradi in the Gorge. Nice viewpoint and easy find.

After a couple of very big days, today we took it easy and settled for this nice short walk up to the lookout. Great to have a trad to log. Tftc
Found with D on an early morning walk. Didn’t have a pen, so just logging find here. Great spot at sunrise. TFTC
Love this National Park. Thanks for hiding a normal cache for us to put a smiley face on an awesome spot on the map!
TFTC a quick walk up the hill with Algae to spy the views, great views. Log found and soon signed with a couple of beers. Cheers
Thank goodness for a normal cache where I don’t have to answer questions I’m not interested in,and then I get here and join the lot with no pen,so photo of me with the cache.TFTC
Thanks for placing a cache in such an awesome location. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our days here in Carnarvon Gorge. Great location at this lookout and a very easy path to the top.
The Carnarvon Gorge is surely outstanding, something unique. Amazing landsscape, beautiful nature and some relicts of ancient Aborigines culture. We enjoyed our hiking tour via Moss Garden, the Amphitheatre, Wards Canyon, the Art Gallery, and Cathedral Cave. We not did any of the Earthcache there because of the effort in answering all question of these caches. We're on a road trip and in between there' should be at least some moments to perceive a feeling a vacation. You surely know what we mean. Nevertheless, we did 3 off the Earthcaches there and the traditional, Takarakka Look Out on sunset. Amazing day we say thanks you for setting up all these Eartcaches and as always TFTC, MumDad2000
Set up camp below and walked up here for a find with Peppa, davinells and BM75
The sun had just set as we arrived
Find number 29581 for me.

After a big drive to the area with Peppa, karicka and Beardman75, we set up camp and headed up the hill just after sunset. There was still a glow just above the cliffs as we found the cache.

After setting up camp (words I never thought I’d use) our group made the short trek up to this lookout… and as a bonus there was a cache too…
Thanks Critter2

Nice easy find on a lovely morning.
Came up last night for the cache and sunset but there were far too many muggles waiting for the sunset.

As most of the tracks are closed. We cane to the campground to check it out and see what the news was regarding the road flooding. A quick little walk up to the lookout and we soon had the cache.

Thanks for the great cache. Stayed nearby at the caravan park, and took a walk to fi d.
Thanks for bringing us to this lovely lookout. We enjoyed the view as much as finding the cache.
We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.
We are camped in Carnarvon Gorge for a couple of days - a spot everyone says we have to visit. Mr Morris headed off for the day to visit the gorge and many of the side trips - all in all a pretty spectacular but tiring day. Meanwhile Lady Morris strolled up the 153 meters from her camp to the lookout.
Thanks for contributing to the fun Critter2

An afternoon crawl up this hill after walking as far as the art gallery this morning. Now for some rest. Tftc
I’m off on my annual 6 week adventure and it is back to Outback Queensland to finish off what I started last time but got interrupted along the way.
It is nice and quiet on the roads this morning and I’m now in NSW and the weather can only get better to what Melbourne is at the moment.
It was time to leave Injune and head to my next destination which is Carnarvon Gorge for 4 nights.
It rained all yesterday and a couple of people turned up at the Injune caravan park last night and told me that the road in to the caravan park at the gorge was closed due to flooding.
I called them up and the told me it had reopened as the water level has dropped.
I got to the gorge and all of the walking tracks were now closed due to flooding at the creek where most of the walks start.
So I thought I might as well do this one then sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery.
A nice view up the top of the area.
One of the easier walks of the gorge area as well.
Thanks Critter2 TFTFC

TFTC Beautiful day, got flooded in and took some Muggles for a walk. They loved it.
I'm staying nearby for a couple of nights.
Made the trip up the hill for a look. It was a bit overcast and misty.
I found your cache and signed the log.

Came up here with __Cat__ at the end of one of our days hiking at the Gorge. We were very tired after the hike, but it was well worth the extra effort. Didn't have a pen with me, so photo log attached. It was a fairly straightforward find, so I don't think this provides any spoilers. TFTC!
Needs maintenance looks like the jar or bottle it was in has been smashed unfortunately we didn’t have any materials with us to fix it
Went up up before the sunset crowd. No muggles up there, in fact no one.
Great park and a lovely walk after a swim in the swimming hole.

On our last morning here at Canarvon gorge, we took the short walk to the top of this hill for some spectacular views. We have loved visiting this place and will remember it forever.
So lovely to find a traditional place here.

Geocaching always leads us to some fascinating regional towns. It’s nice to be able to explore and camp in unfamiliar areas as we travel through the state. While taking a detour around the flooded areas of qld we decided to stay overnight at Carnarvon Gorge. Such a gem of a place to visit.
After this afternoon’s storm it cooled off a bit to enjoy this lovely walk to gz. The views were great from the top.
We enjoyed finding your cache today as part of our memorable road trip beyond Victoria. Thanks so much for the cache.

An epic 3 week roadtrip up to Longreach/Winton and back to Brissy. ??????????
We finally made it to Winton and now were on the homerun back to Brisbane! We arrived at the Takarakka Accomadation to spend the next few days exploring Carnarvon Gorge. What a beautiful part of the world this place is!
This was a quick find for us. Replaced as found and away we went to explore more of the town.

Stopping in Carnavon for a day or two, this cache was definitely on the agenda. So, early in the morning my mate and I went for a walk up the path to find it. Simply phenomenal views at GZ, FP worthy for sure! It wasn't too long before we found a likely hiding place and spotted the cache. Brought some TBs along, thanks for the cache!

We wanted to visit this place after QOGM 2018 at Barcaldine. Now we're on our way to QOGM 2021 at Cunnamulla, we can't afford to miss it! Thanks to Car∅ for organising our trip. Had a very enjoyable and wonderful time with the Carnavon Crew (Car∅, Snickersallan, Kestal and Ruzzelz).
This was our second cache of the day in Carnavon Gorge.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here Critter2.
We stayed at the Carnavon Gorge Camp Site. It's good to know there's a shop and a bar nearby. We managed to join the happy hour after walking 28 km, 10 hours on our 3rd day.

Gotcha! Day 1 at Carnarvon Gorge. Lots walking ahead. This was just a warm up. TFTC
Our 2nd day here at Takarakka. What an amazing place to stay.
After a morning of short walks, followed by lunch and a walk along the creek to spot the platypus (who was very active) we climbed up to the lookout with our nibbles and camera.
Sadly it was overcast, so an amazing sunset was not on offer, but it was still nice to sit and watch the cockatoos fly past to roost for the night.
We found the GZ quite quickly on our way up and signed the log.
All is good with the cache.
I think a favourite point is applicable here.

Thank you Critter2 for bringing me up to the roof of Takarakka. Enjoyable walk followed by solitary time to take a moment to sit and enjoy the view. Here for the QLD Outback Masters Golf 2021. TFTC.
We went up here on our first afternoon but completely forgot to find the cache! So today we returned complete with wine and wine glasses to watch the sun go down. After the last of the pretty colours had receded we turned on our torches and comenced our search. We found the likely spot but couldn't find anything so we expanded our search area but still no luck. Returning to the likely spot, Mrs. Herbz had another look. This time she got down a little lower and looked in further, this time she was successful and made the find. TFTC.
Easy find, but we have to wait until all muggles, who came for the sunset, were gone.

First of all the signs put me off. Security cameras! Guests only? After consulting a local I decided to give it another go. The local also told me about the platypus. After waiting an hour I finally i spied the platypus. It was almost dark so i could not take a snap of the shy critter. In the fadding light i then rushed up to the lookout and found the cache by the light of the new moon. TFTC
Having a rest day today after slogging up the gorge yesterday. What to do after breakfast? I know, let's climb another hill and find a cache . Quick find and lots of little birds to keep Mrs Lat&Long happy while I signed the log.
Bit tricky at first but finally found it in the company of Jo247. Forgot ink so did not sign log. TFTC
My husband and I spent 2 days at Takaraka camp site thankfully in air conditioned cabin as it reached 40 degrees on both days . The first day we went to this cache, carnarovon cliffs and A matter of time and the second day we walked to cathedral cave and did all the off shoots bar bulimba bluff. We waited until it was cooler and it was a 1 stubby walk to gz where thanks to the hint we soon spotted this cache and then enjoyed the view. Thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
Came up on my own after a big day hiking the gorge with the family. I just missed the sunset but then I just missed all the muggles too. Found the spot quickly and went and sat down to sign and admire what was left of the view. Decided I'd better left while I had the last bit of dusk light. Didn't want to do that in the dark with legs that were already wobbly. TFTC here. We did platypus viewing on night one and this lookout on night two.
After meeting Ambersparks at the happy hour, knowing it was up here, I took a quick walk with an ice cream and Fitzengrubenwifey in tow.
Quick find, quick log. The gorge has been a wonderful adventure for us for the last three days. TFTC

Went out spotlighting for furry creatures at the lookout tonight and come up empty handed.managed to sneak a glimpse of the platypus swimming about. Funny thing is that I got back to camp after spotlighting for an hour and found an echidna in our camp. Have put in a new log sheet as old one is starting to get full.
I came up on the 2nd to watch the full moon rise(amazing view) but forgot my pen. Tftc at this wonderful location.

Tftc. I rode my bike up here at 4 am on the morning of out departure. Keen for the ride back out.
Yesterday was high muggle traffic at sunset. Picked a less popular time of day and after a few looks in the wrong direction, good find.
