Stuart's Pass5.0/3.5 Regular Traditional Cache Terrific day with Bug and Co targeting Stuart's Pass to complete my 12th Loop! Went to Glen Helen Gorge as well, even though I've already done the cache there, but it was closed due to wildfires. Also learnt from American adventurers that Redbank Gorge we met at Glen Helen's entrance had a closed sign too. We went as far as Mt Sonder Lookout then back and tried Ormiston Gorge. Visited Serpentine Dam and Gorge and the Lookout while in the area.Thank you for the cache griffs90. Was wondering what a pully was until Bug found it and I was on top of it and I was on gz! Read some logs, I'm glad I didn't have to go much higher! Please check if this is indeed Stuart's Pass. Info Board says Reedy Hole Waterhole.Great d/t. 12th Loop and according to Bug my 1st Traditional Loop! Which qualifies me for another challenge cache! Happy dance! A Favourite!
Target cache for the whole day. This one required for Es 12th loop and Trad Loop.Great location.I wish I took the time to cross the river and look at the other side of the river/pulley .Cheers
A lull in my workload meant we could head out to see some sights today. With a desirable (to us) D/T geocache along this track, we decided to head all the way to Birthday Waterhole and work our way back to the bitumen road picking up caches as we went.
With this cache being our primary goal, I wasn't going to give up easily. I climbed up to above the hint point and left M to do some reading of previous logs. With his guidance, I soon had the cache in hand. Another step toward our 5th fizzy!
Thanks for find #4738

Travelling with iluvtrekking from Perth to Darwin along the west coast and back home through the Centre and the Nullabor, picking up caches along our route. After visiting Standley Chasm, we decided to try some 4x4 caches. It was a bumpy track but we love this type of caching and the stunning scenery. Must admit this was a scary one to find after scaling the rock from around the back, but thanks to good co-ords we were soon adding our names to the log. Thanks for the hide.

A fantastic 4WD drive up the river to pick up this little group of caches. Thanks griffs90.

We rode our bikes in from close to the road to visit Hugh gorge and the birthday waterhole. It was a bit bumpy in places but we made it.
This was going to be challenging as it had not been found in awhile but given its location I was sure it was there. I strategically avoided the date it was last found to my partner as being nearly three years since found just adds a bit of doubt. The pully didn't help me get up there but I decided I would work methodically from that point until I came across it. I was surprised I found it so fast I wouldn't say a quick find but a bit quicker than expected.
Thanks for putting this cache here.

@Davidwazza and I travelled to the Northern Territory from Adelaide for a 2.5 weeks road trip holiday in the infamous black jeep. We took a route through Port Augusta, Woomera, Roxby Downs, Andamooka, and then drove the Oodnadatta Track via Coward Springs, William Creek (including a Lake Eyre scenic flight), Oodnadatta, and Marla. It was then onwards to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuṯa (Olgas), Kings Canyon, and then drove the Red Centre Way aka. Mereenie Loop Road to see the Tjoritja (West MacDonell Ranges), calling in to see the various highlights. We then stayed a few nights in Alice Springs, and included a day trip to see the East MacDonell Ranges, before heading home in a more direct route through Palm Valley, Owen Springs Reserve, Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia, and finally Coober Pedy.
Today, we set off from Glen Helen Gorge, exploring the West MacDonells as we made our way to Alice Springs.

We are travelling from Adelaide on a 4wd trip to Alice Springs. We have enjoyed the 4wd tracks in the NT. A great drive in here. We found this mountain goat style! Thanks
When every rock looks like it shouldn’t be there, it’s hard to find! Thanks to the clue, Team_Crumble locates this one. Thanks for placing the cache griffs90.
After spending four days travelling up on my own from Adelaide, I met up with FeatherWaite in Alice Springs for a few days of travelling around and caching.
We visited various places in the West Macdonnells, including Hugh Gorge, then went out to Kings Canyon, up the Finke Gorge track to Hermansburg, into Palm Valley, then back to Adelaide, taking a week in all. We saw, and camped in some fantastic places, although the late September weather was a little warm!
We decided to travel into Birthday Waterhole to camp for the night before visiting Hugh Gorge the next day, and grabbed this one on the way in. Nice location. Still wondering what the pulley was for though!
Thanks griffs90 for the cache. A favourite point from me.

Flew up to Alice Springs for a conference, then met up with e.gregory1 for an epic road trip through the West MacDonnell Ranges, Mereenie Loop Rd, Kings Canyon, Luritja Rd, Ernest Giles Rd, Finke Gorge NP, Hermannsberg, Larapinta Drive, back to the Alice then down the Stuart Hwy to Adelaide, with awesome sights and great caches along the way. Thanks for the cache griffs90!
WHOOPS! I'm logging about 100-200 or so caches like 3 months after the trip that we found them on! Completely forgot to log these but I did not forget the trip! Found this cache along with many others on an adventure around the red centre. Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

Today we explored the West MacDonnell National Park using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. We engaged four wheel drive and headed in on the scenic trek. This tooksome time but Mrs "T" came up with the goods!

I took the drive along the Hugh River today
The scenery out the back is spectacular.
This is where the 'big mountains' live
It was a very warm and humid day today,
and constantly spitting rain
So good not to be walking anywhere too strenuous
I faced a short scramble up the rocks here.
I had spotted the 'clue' from below,
but up top had difficulty seeing where it went
At last I scrambled down to the right place,
and could see the 'clue' again.
A slow scramble back up and it wasn't long before I found the well hidden cache
Could be a toughie to find if you ain't comfortable being near cliff edges
TFTC !!

As we continued to enjoy The Red Centre Experience this weekend, DOC-WHO and I headed out of town to find a few caches. We had spotted this one on the GPS but wasn't sure whether we would get out here for it or not. In the end, we found ourselves out this side of town, so thought 'why not'. With the dry weather, the road in was much better than I had anticipated, and the river crossings were more of a stone crossing. We got near to GZ when we arrived at a spot we thought our limited clearance would have some trouble getting over, so we parked and enjoyed the short walk in to where we were greeted by a man and his kids camping for the night in the middle of the dry river bed. As he saw us make the climb for the cache he came over and introduced himself, and found out that he was a ornithologist. We were given a wonderful lesson on the species in the area, and their movements before deciding we had better get back to town before it got too late. Some really beautiful countryside out here.

We had come out this way to spend the day 4wding with DazzPete and checking out the Gorge, and as this was on the way in we pulled the who,e circus up here for a bit of a look. Everyone jumped out and scrambled up the rocks to start looking for it, and in no time at all GeoP came up with the goods and we all signed our lives away, then we jumped back into the air conditioning and continued out to the gorges.
Thanks griffs90 for the cache in a cool spot.

Found whilst attending the NT Mega.
Found with Marcus Vitruvius.
What an adventure coming out here, many thanks to Warren and his 4x4, no way my Ute was getting in here with it's dry sandy creek crossings etc.
At GZ we met a photographer who told us about Owls, Snakes, even frogs!
The things you learn!
We also trekked the last several hundred metres on foot, as we missed the easy track in

Spending the afternoon 4wding with Skullracing as part of the Red Centre Experience event. This cache has a D/T combination we haven't achieved before so this provided an excuse to come this way; the views and experience were simply the cream on the top.

Headed off westwards after the event this morning with 3 other 4WDs to get a few "out of the way" caches. The tracks were pretty easy, but we got to see some areas that were well worth seeing. I was struggling at GZ, a lot slower than the others, who had the cache in their hands, when I was still 12 feet away. Great Morning, great spot, great views, thanks to griffs90 for the hide.
Met up this morning with some old friends and lots of new to make a group assault on this cache. After a bumpy but easy drive in, we scrambled up to locate this cache. Quickly found, signed, returned and the obligatory photos taken. Great view from GZ. Thanks for bringing us out here and thanks for the cache.
Huge thanks to McLookers for letting us tag along to collect this cache. Met some great new cachers whilst looking for a great cache in an awesome area. What more could you want! Thanks so much for the cache and bringing us here.
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

We had noticed this one in the past but with only a last minute ability to attend the event for a short period of time we did not think we would get out to this one. However that all changed when we met McLookers, Just a Triffle and powellbruce at the Closing The Gap Event the night before and was luckily enough to grab a seat in the Cruiser. By next morning the group had grown to 4 cars so we had a convoy. More the merrier.
Out we headed until it was time to go off road. Generally the track was ok with a couple of soft spots and one drop off which another route round was found.
We all gathered below GZ and said it looks like up there. We lead a group up and got to a spot to start search and as luck would have it we pretty much uncovered and pulled it out of the first spot we looked in. The log was passed around for signing before heading back. TFTC.

In a 4WD convoy we came in to claim this cache. We were the only ones in a car that the Chief isn't used to driving. Hmm, the suspension on the hire car, while not completely terrible did threaten to dislodge the dash and console. We wondered if there was anything in the lease agreement about having to give the car back in one piece and had visions of standing at the counter saying "here's the dash, oh and the console but everything else is fine, trust me! No, no we didn't take it off-road, we were on a road the whole time!" After a brief stop for a couple bladders that went into shock after so much shaking we made it to GZ and the race was on to see who could get up there and touch the cache first! Much whooping and cheering followed, then photographs (because without a photo it didn't happen!) of cachers up a hill and of the gorgeous surroundings. So glad we came with the group, the road wasn't as bad as we were expecting, sand not too deep so we didn't need to let down tyres at all. Beautiful part of the world, TFTC
A convoy of vehicles made an attack on this one.

After an early event, a convoy of vehicles travelled to this very picturesque spot. The drive in was much less of a problem than we initially expected.....an experienced driver makes all the difference! Once safely at GZ, bella@waggy was at GZ the quickest and made the find. Thanks griffs90 for a fabulous adventure today.
Another day of caching in Alice Springs, starting off with the Donerstag Event. We had a varied day caching with powellbruce, McLookers, bella at waggy and Zuse07 at various times during the day
Most of the caches were relatively easy to find and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you griffs90 for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

We had this cache picked to find before we left home three weeks ago to attend the Red Centre Experience Event. Arriving in Alice Springs yesterday, we couldn't wait to get out and look for it. First thing today we were on our way. Some great scenery out here, especially at Stuart's Pass. Looking up at GZ we were wondering how many hundreds of places there could be to hide a cache but with the hint in mind we continued to the spot.....actually the exact right spot! Found the cache in the first place we looked. [^] A lot of fun, TFTC griffs90 - fav point!
Doing some drive by caching on my way from Owen Springs back to Alice Springs Airport. Couldn't resist a bit of an adventure and a chance to get another entry in the D/T grid. A most invigorating 4WD drive, coupled with a bit of rock scrambling to grab the container. Is definitely still there and in the place suggested by the hint. Awesome adventure. Definite FP! TFTC.
Making our way back out, stopped off here and parked on the nice grassy patch ! Looked up and yes that matches the hint .
Left the GPS in the geomobile as I figured I wouldn't need it and made my way to the GZ - Oh it's not exactly where I figured MMMM further looking around and there it was .
Signed logbook 3/09/2016 4pm and replaced all as found.
2 x TB Visited = Aussie 2016 & DieDreiLandeier.

I was hoping the GPS was correct where it was showing, nope then I read the hint & it all came to me – so now I went up we went – the problem was when I was up near GZ I could hear something in the rocks I didn’t look there & looked everywhere else – laugh as you would cache was in those rocks- it was great to complete this 1 – a favourite - TFTC / TFTH / SL
This was a quite challenging looking cache on the computer and we accepted the challenge! We are so glad we did as it was achieved successfully and fills in an empty space on our D/T chart. One team member made the ascent to the right level, while the other had to stay at ground level (to take a photo, of course). The log was signed and the descent was managed without any problem and we were very happy to have made the effort to achieve this one. It gets a favourite point from us for being a challenge.
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends before flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. We then drove up to Cape Tribulation before we turned south to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels. Having picked up our 4x4 camper we are now on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
We had hoped to camp here last night, but by the time we reached the river it was already dark and so it was difficult to judge just how deep the river crossing was, and so being in a hire vehicle where the rules are no river crossings (even though we hired a 4WD!!!) we figured we'd better play safe rather than risk our insurance being invalidated, and so we camped up for the night on the other side of the river. This morning we could see there was a second easier place to cross and so over we went, parking up where we would love to have spent last night. My Klipspringer geo husband typically took the hardest possible way up, and the triumphant "Found It" call rang out while I was still making my way up the least difficult way! Brilliant! - with this find we have filled in a missing D/T on our grid and so now have just 5 left to go before we complete it. Thanks so much for the cache and definitely please have a favourite point!

After we spent a night at the Birthday waterhole and had a look at the Spencer Gorge we came back along here and stopped for the cache. Took me about 20 minutes of searching... But finally I found this one. On the way down I lost balance and fell down a bit but just some scratches! thanks for the cache!
This is a really nice spot to set up camp [^], but could be a bit busy with traffic going past to get deeper into the park.
All quiet here on our visit today and we spent quite awhile searching and re-searching the rocky outcrop . What is that 'feature' doing here anyway [?].
Eventually turned it up. TNLNSL.

I hadn't been back this way in some time. Camped quite often closer to the highway. I forgot how rough the last few km's can be, slow going. I got to GZ, which looked to be another fantastic camping spot. Anyway, it took me longer to get in then I thought it would, so could only search for 5 min as I had to get back to town for an appointment. wondered around a bit, and looked at the hint. that was no help to me at all lol. Will pm to get a better hint for next time!
