[green] Drove down Friday night for a three day wages to petrol extravaganza. Doing the Blenheim - Greytown - Westport Blenheim loop. Drove to Reefton Friday night so I could grab some empty log books early the next morning. That done its on with the main mission. An awesome three day experience, only about 30 caches per day, but two badge upgrades, wekas, seals and penguins, an awesome coast road and coastal walk. Wonderful.
Last cache for the day while I look for somewhere to spend the night.
I must say I am not impressed with the CO here. I have no problem with a challenging hide, but present a diff 2.5 cache and then only reward me with a rating of 1.5? I was stomping off back to the car after about 20m searching muttering something about can't be bothered about 1.5 caches that are this hard to find when I found it!
You should re-think the difficulty rating here, Ariestiger.

6780. Out for the day geocaching from Kumara to Greymouth..... (and Cobden) ..... And to do some shopping. The weather was not good, with rain throughout the day, but that doesn't mean no geocaching! This was cache find number eight of nineteen for the day. Found after lot of searching. So many possible sites! Amazed at all the camper vans parked along the shore. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. Counldn't see the wood for the well... wood!
Stormy beach today.....
Found this cache during our NZ holiday in 2015.
Thanks for hiding the cache and showing us the place.

I spent ages looking in all the wrong places before Chelzea joined the search and found within a few seconds. My excuse was all the wood about I just wanted to build something... or it must have been another man look hour. TFTC
Stayed in Greymouth directly at the beach (next to this geocache) for the night and had a nice waking up. We collected coffee and breakfast to enjoy this at the beach. TFTC
Found it a few metres out from gps. Until that moment we shifted through a lot of drift wood! Found a beautiful big native gecko which was a real highlight. Tftc!
Back in NZ now and time for some caches!!...Down here to watch the nephew play in the semi finals of his Rugby League..now in the Finals next week...but we'll be up watching the All Blacks..bad timing!! Anyway as we arrived we started counting down towards a car that was parked right on top of the GZ with it's boot up...as we got there they were just coming up the beach loaded with wood!! Are you allowed to do that?? Apparently you are!! We had a quick look around but they were watching us thinking that we were probably going to steal their car!!...who would steal that??...We didn't spend too much time there...just enough to keep them watching!!..so we watched the game and by the time the game had finished they had gone..so a nice QEF.

Ten pm and the place was packed with camper vans and busses. A quick stop and grab without getting anyone suspicious. Cheers
Yes I wood, but it was dark so didn't see the sea. A quick find even with all the campers nearby. Found on a weekend trip to the Coast with Kiwi Moose. Thanks for the hide.
Decided to make this the last one today as the rain kept coming down. Admired the spirit of the lone surfer out there. A quick find fortunately.
On the Westcoast for a family weekend adventure. This cache has an exciting story.
Came out here last night....a few campervans parked up...and what I thought to be a bonfire ~100m away in the driftwood between hightide and the tussock dunes (I was keeping low, careful with the torch, as there had been Stockcar racing in the evening and I presumed this to be a drunken bonfire)....but as I was searching for the cache a young foriegn couple approached me from their campervan - concerned about the fire & they said no one was around. Hmmm. Ok. let's go have a look. Hmm. They were right. No one around. Ooops. A fire. 20m2, so not huge yet. Phoned 111, and with GPS in hand I could tell them where I was! (never easy when you are in an unknown town!) & the brigade were on site within a couple minutes of me ending the call. Fast response! Fire out in next to no time.
When I told the wee dudes about my exciting night they wanted to come back for a look. So we wandered back to see the scorched area this morning and then we wandered back and found the cache.
Nice one - but I think the I wouldn't like a view like that given there seems to be a high risk of being set on fire!....
Cheers.

Lots of camper vans parked along the sea front but not near gz. We thought this WOOD end on a DNF but then I struck gold.

Found this morning after a short search - there's plenty of the title stuff around so lots of places to search. Signed log, TFTC
[blue]Day 16 of our 31 Days of Caching Challenge. [/blue] We arrived here just before the sun was setting. It looked like it was gonna be a great sunset if it wasnt for the clouds. Lots of options here so thankfully the cache was in the obvious spot and it was in the first place we looked. Again, it was spitting so we didnt stick around. Thanks for the cache Sis.
A quick visit to town ended up much longer than planned...could not resist a few caches. Another spot there was a cache nearby. Normally busy here, WOOD you believe it, not a soul in sight. Cheers
