As we made our way back down the trail, we stopped by here to find your cache. It was nicely hidden. All nice and dry here. Thank you
I looked for this one a few weeks ago but dnf and decided not to record the dnf as thought was probably just not my day. Looked tonight and saw recent replacement had been made. Was still a little bit tricky as my arrow was pointing me in wrong direction but soon located and signed. Tftc
The second of three caches to be checked today.I spent more time than I should before deciding the cache was gone and dropped a replacement. All good to go again
Nothing after two sets of eyes and much determination. Feels like it may have been muggled
Today we went for a walk in The Grampians. How cool to have this nice nature area so close to home! We carefully planned our route to intersect with as many caches as possible and we found all of them but one. A great score on this lovely sunny winter's day. After hours of hiking and many hills up and down we were happy to be back at the car, carrying all those smiley's in our backpack
Not very busy today, even though it's such a nice sunny winter's day. So no problem to do a little bit of searching and soon enough, whew, found it!

The time was right for a days caching on the Grampians. Muggle activity was minimal so this aided in the search. Saw an item of interest and sure enough there was the cache - Whew!! All in good order here.

Glad I found this as it gave me another slant on how to investigate this type of hide. I was about to give up when I realized what needed to be done. Others more experienced may immediately take the required action, but for me it was a useful learning curve.
Quite a lot of muggle mania at this intersection too so vigilance required, so said muggles don't muggle it!
Thanks to those that placed and replaced this cache.

At the top of this mornings loop run. A pretty quick find if read back a few logs. Couldn’t slide it out so had to lever the hint item a bit.
This one was a bit of a search, we were almost in a mousetrap, but luckily it was in a safer place. tftc
This cache was muggled with innards strewn all about, log soaking. We put in a new log and put about where we think it was originally. You are looking for a stump, tftc.
A A beautiful day and a nice walk (between exercises and supermarket) and a cache. TFTC

I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #627, logbook is a mess and logging not possible, photo proof available on request.
Nearly went past this one. was looking further up the trail. Lucky I spotted It.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Quick find. The log is disintegrating but I forgot to bring any spare log paper on the walk to replace. Hopefully a subsequent finder will oblige. Tftc.

I had an opportunity to go to the South Island and take a week off work and do some caching while Mrs Yeetrees had to go to the ANZEG Conference 2018 which was being held in Nelson.
Day 2. Nelson. We decided to spend the day around Nelson with Mrs Yeetrees going around and checking out the displays and exhibitions around Nelson and I decided that I would go up to the Grampians and pick up a few caches.
After finding GC40XNT - Imposter (Nelson/Marlborough), this was the next cache that I wanted to find on my way around the Grampians. The walk to this cache was just over 450 metres and the walk was almost flat, well there was a couple of zigs and zags spots but nothing too strenuous. I manged to see a few muggles along the way but it was far less than what I was expecting, especially on a Sunday and the weather up here wasnt too bad.
Arriving at GZ, I took a few seconds to have a look around to make sure that there werent too many muggles around, after checking to ensure that the area was clear of muggles it was time to go and search for this cache. After reading the hint it was quite obvious as to where the cache was going to be. After a short search I soon spotted the cache.
Managed to retrieve it without any issues, signed and then replaced it back as found. Thanks bumandworker for placing this cache here, TFTC TNLNSL (13577). Now it is time to check out which cache that I was going to go for next.

Had to laugh at the hide, having tackled a few b&w caches now I was confident in what to expect but at the GZ there were lots of the normal concealers and as it turned out the cache was hidden without one, cache all nice and dry and in good condition. TFTC
Took longer than it should have even with paddle chicks help as she couldn't remember where it was .Thanks for the cache bumandworker
Whew was right - always pleased to have a wee stop after a steep bit. Thanks bumandworker for the cache
Found this after missing some on the way up. TFTC and also to the moderators as they have lots to keep up with. Totally enjoy getting on some new tracks. Took slushy snow ⛄ travel bug
Found on the way down after a good 5 minute search. The reviewers do a great job so hats off to them. Nice hide too. Cheers B&W.
Yay found it. Just been up to the summit and on my way back. Can a possum somewhere here very close. Lol grab tb and left one tftc
Whew is right. Walked up from the Collingwood st entrance. Still got the summit to do. Left a TB that I have had for too long. Thanks for the cache.
Its a Merit Badge weekend
And The Seagnoid is after it no end
Geocache HQ have set the position
The Seagnoid has taken up the mission
A cache with 10 favorites is what is needed
Wgtn, Chch or Nelson?? where will be seek it?
'The Grampians' confirms The Seagnoid
"OK' says TB Dragon "lets go to this void"
There is a choc fish wager, on wet or dry weather
So lets go a hunting and bugger the weather.
The Seagnoid has his badge, still no rain so lets keep going UP of course. Another easy find for The Seagnoid. some great views on the way. Cheers

I was not planning on caching today, but GC HQ put out a not saying that an agent was in trouble at the Muggle Republic Embassy. I identified the agent and his location, so... so much for not caching today. TaybeeDragon and I set off to Nelson to climb the Grampians and and rescue our erstwhile agent. George is now save, but the Dargon and I are still on the Grampians and it is no where near lunchtime yet. Okay - lets keep walking! After yet more uphill we get here for an easy find. Clouds starting to come in. The Dragon bets me that it is going to rain. I bet it won't. Later I find I am down one chocolate fish [:-(]. At least it didn't rain too bad while we were still out walking.
Today we decided it was time for another wander up the Grampians.
Before leaving the car on our walk this morning we made sure we had a pen since discovering when we arrived at ZigZag a few weeks ago that neither of us did. We also stopped and signed that log on the way past today.
I was saying whew long before we got to this point, in fact found it a bit easier to here after puffing my way to "Investigate". After signing the log here we decided to plod a bit further interspersed with many more "whews" to the lookout.
We certainly do appreciate the work our volunteer reviewers do for us. Three cheers for them!
Thank you bumandworker.

We started at Collingwood Street and were ready for a breather. It had been to long since we cached on the Grampians and a crisp winter's day was just what the doctor ordered. So, yes, it was "whew" we made it this far up but no further comment because the streak was over long time and we did bring a pen Thank you bumandworker
Found with NZDi. Due to other family commitments, geocaching has been placed on the back burner for over a month. Now those duties have been fulfilled, today was the start of our geocaching catch up. During the week I had been exploring a couple of options for todays effort and settled on either a trip up Mount Duppa or head into the Grampians behind Nelson. We have previously been up Mount Duppa, but that was in the years BC (Before Geocaching) and as with a lot of walks in the area, this is another trip that we are going to have to do again. However we had a little shopping to do in Nelson before-hand and as we came through the Collin's Valley, we saw low cloud rolling over the top of the hills. On cresting the top of Gentle Annie on the way into Nelson, we were greeted with a beautiful 'blue sky day' which settled our plan to cache the Grampians, Nelson 's version of the Wither Hills Farm Park that we have in Blenheim, a veritable mecca of caches.
While formulating my plan to cache the Grampians I discovered a handy map produced by the Nelson City Council highlighting all the tracks. Using my desktop publishing skills, I overlaid all the caches located on the tracks, then formed a systematic plan to get them all. As it turned out, this was not going to be a one day effort, but I hop to clear them all out after my next visit.
I guess most cachers will be going Whew if they attempted this one from the bottom, however we came up to the top from the other side so it was downhill for us from here. I had not been overtaken by the obsession that is geocaching when this cache was listed along with a bunch of others entitled the streak, but I am benefitting from that little exercise now, with the plethora of caches around the Nelson area, so thanks to the CO's and the reviewers.
A QEF here at GZ.

Being down in Nelson with our local rep today meant an early start to get to the airport to get down here, thankfully i managed to pretty much sleep all the way down here.
So after the early start and spending the day in Blenhiem it was time to get out and walk the Grampian Hills before going back to the Motel and carrying on with a few more hours of work.
As I continue in the uphill direction I was surprised today that there were not more people or dogs about, in total for my entire journey I only came across two trail runners which surprised me for such a brillient late afternoon to be out walking.
It has been so long since I had located a b&w cache it felt like destiny to also get one on this trip. A nice quick find and muggle free to boot.
thanks for the placement

No "Whew's" about it !!
I was heading downhill now
And missed out on the madness of whatever cache-hiding mania happened here.
It happened back in OZ too apparently
Geocaching.com have only themselves to blame !!
They started it with the August 2013, 31 days of caching mania
So Whew !! I found this cache

Whew time for a break and to enjoy the view. I'm headed up to get the Earthcache at the lookout for international earth cache day and get the bonus of a few traditionals along the way. A good spot here, I had to wait briefly in the shade for a couple of people to move along and then the coast was clear for the find, which was where I expected it would be. T F T C

With mrs capperz and occasional cacher nightowl19 declaring their wish to head over the hill for some retail therapy in the mighty Nelson C B D, a plan was required to find some caches and also keep Tally the dog entertained as she was to come for the big day out too. So, upon looking at previous caches found, and potential walks that could entertain me and my canine shadow, I settled on a different part of the Grampians walkway that I did on a visit in March this year.
Also got in touch with b of b&w fame for some advice and he suggested a couple of options for a few hour walk so we settled on this loop and he came along for the walk too which was great, along with cache the dog.....yes, really. So, with snow on the mountain tops and single figure temperatures a blue sky overhead and we entered the track at Tukuka Road end. Grabbed nine caches in a 2 hour walk, great views, caches and company.

Up at the top and b told me the background to this hide. Some great views up here that a cellphone camera just won't do justice to, sadly

Whew! Times this visit to perfection as I met a dozen people going up as I was going down but not a soul near the GZ. A quick find, as promised and now off down the The Brook

Previous Geocachers trails sent me off in the wrong direction a little, but got there in the end. TFTC
This cache and one other up here have been annoying me for quite a while. Being averse to hills, particularly ones that I have already climbed I try and make only annual visits up here. It turns out that it has actually been 18 months. No wonder the green icons have been annoying me!
I walked up the Mahoe track and then down from the lookout. Quite pleasant. The Whew moment came when I had to walk back up to the lookout.
I heartily agree with the CO's sentiments regarding our Reviewers. They can never be given enough praise for spending the time and energy to help make this recreation so enjoyable. Especially SQ who has to put up with B&W submitting caches to him on most days

We came in from the Fairfield side to access the earth cache and to do a few other caches enroute. We followed the single foot track only to find it kept splitting so we were not sure we were on the right track. We got to a point and decide we were not high enough so went up a steep vehicle track and then spotted a steeper foot track which soon had us at a picnic table set and a trig. From there we picked up some nice hides in which the horses helped at one and onto the earth cache at the look out and to enjoy the great views. All signing duties completed and hides replaced. TFTC

I go past here most days with the dog so thought it was about time I logged this one. The only muggles in the vicinity were the rabbits from the warren a few metres away. That kept the dog rather interested ... TFTC - J & dog.
TFTC! I love it up here!!! Nice long walk for me on this nice sunny day!! I also dropped off a trackable in here-Goldie - The Golden Kiwi However i only went and said on here i have put it in Imposter. Im so sorry guys can the person who finds the goldie Kiwi please correct this for me! Many thanks

Heys guys Im so sorry I actually dropped of a TB in here today The Golden Kiwi but i went and logged it as placing it in Imposter, which is not far from here at all. Can the next person that finds the Tb please correct it for me. Thanks once again
Glad to reach this point after walking up from the brook, good walk for geo mutt ... Thanx4tc
We were a bit underwhelmed by last years August souvenirs, and didn't attempt to get a cache each day, this years challenge was more to our taste. But we do appreciate the work that the reviewers put in, and also the kudos to the geocachers who put out so many great hides for our enjoyment.
A quick find for me while StreetWalker was searching elsewhere (usually it's the other way around ), then onwards and upwards to the next cache. TFTC.

I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. A nice time to stop on the walk ad grab another cache. TFTC
A very relaxed evening walk with the son & hound - easy enough for Mr 11 to hunt this cache out.
A pre dinner walk with the whole family. Ellie made the find once close. Second local cache today so not good for my streaking but an enjoyable walk with no whining so all good.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

First warm and windless day for a while. Feeling quite virtuous making it to the top today
Found on a Sunday afternoon walk but forgot our pen so unable to sign log today . Will add names on our next venture up the hill.
Found quickly by Gorgeous Goose but no pen to sign the log. A good excuse for another walk up the hill .
Easy find. Thanks BW for making me get off my backside and hike up here!!! I don't do it often enough which is a shame because we are blessed with glorious countryside right on our doorstep. TFTC!!
Whew... was SoBad's response when we stopped streaking - well having a trip away was too tempting to not continue.
Whew... was Mrs SoBad's response when it was a quick and muggle free find.
Whew... this was as far as she was going
This was meant to have been found Much earlier but needed a caching buddy free to enjoy the walk with. Lots of chat about Canada with Sidewaze - and a couple of caches - and a neat day for it all.
The patient work of the reviewers is Highly appreciated. Especially when Mrs SoBad makes one of her mistakes in the listing - in one of a surprisingly high number of ways.
Thanks for the tribute cache.

It's only recently I've started exploring the Grampians, but now, for some reason I seem to come up here quite often. I'm really getting to know my way around. It's a good workout, amazing views, and when there's lots of conversation one hardly notices the whew - - exertion - - puff - - whew - - sweat. Thanks to bum for the hide, to SQ the reviewer - - always so patient and supportive - - and to Mrs SoBad for "being there" .
It wasnt actually that exhausting, because I was on my way back

Fourth Cache of the day. Time to choose, Up or Down. Up it was to the top. TFTC
Finally got round to this one on the way home from checking our rat and possum traps on Kahikatea track - taking the long way home today! TFTC
After a week out of town for work a walk up this hill was the perfect way to unwind. A nice walk up and great views at the top. GPS took me straight to a likely hiding place and there was the cache. Dropped in a couple of trackables that should enjoy the view too. TFTC, Biggles.
So here's the worst thing about trying to maintain a streak. You get to slog it up the Grampians in your lunch break to make your find for the day and have to walk past other caches that are going begging in order to save them for another day. Just as well the views are so wonderful and it beats going to the gym. Nice quick find on this one ... whew! TFTC
Seems there was no queue this morning. Even after a late start. Still the blank log to greet me. Thanks
Woke up at the new normal AUG streak time of 5:30 driffed back of to sleep only to be waken by the phone with a new cache release at 6:30 and being the first day of spring I sprung out of bed at 9:00am dressed had some breakfast and off the the race for the first to find "yer right" was surprised to find I was only the second to sign the log still a most enjoyable walk around the hills and graped a few of the new to me caches up their, dropped of a couple of TB/geocoins.
Many thanks to Status Quo for all his hard work and making this silly game we play posable he has allways been good to me even if he has turned down a few caches but helpful in finding ways around placements, it nice to know he is keeping a eye on the area as it seem to me a massive job to track all our efforts to see we have separations from all these unsolved ??????? ones

And so it continues! Had done the washing, cooking, gardening and cleaning so thought I had earned myself a slog up the hill. Not quite the primo plaza but near enough. Just signing the log when Eder-Ents turned up which provided another opportunity to discuss the joys of the previous 31 days and some other caching tales. TFTC #5064
Well after being totally preoccupied in the last month, it was a day to give the garage a good dung out. That finished, there was time to climb a hill and knock off a few caches that I'd avoided over the last month and claim this celebratory one.
What a surprise to find Isis58 sat in the sun at GZ. Maybe the mini-events will continue. Had a good old natter before mustering the energy to head to the top.
