Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. The wet weather over the last few days had dampened things down nicely and made for pleasant walking conditions today. I was surprised at the number of MTB'ers seen today, being as it was a Friday. .. According to Strava, I did 9.2km walking today with an elevation gain of 308m with 100% finds, so was pleased with that.Took quite awhile here without any luck. I finally read logs and Davidwazza's hint of between, saw a quick find. Aarrgghh, how could I have missed that.?? TFTC
An enjoyable morning walk of 8km finding 15 caches and one DNF, with my non-Premium friend sausage3. After walking the southern section, we drove to Gate 5 and walked to the final four caches in this area. We looked in the obvious places but when I turned around, I saw it in an unexpected spot. Coordinates were good. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Tftc
Thanks for reinstating this cache.Forgot my biro, will return to sign correctly. ITMT...this will "bags" my spot
Regarding our visit to Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area, baby Cottontail and I set out on this walk from West Mount Cotton Road at 11:30 hr. We ended up walking a total distance of 2.7 km across an elevation of 55 m, with a moving time of 0:45 hr and elapsed time of 1:20 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/11342607248). A few MTB-ers were utilising the trails, but otherwise, it was a reasonably quiet area walking up/down the terrain.Whilst walking the area, we followed the *Upper Main Trail* to then arrive at the posted coordinates. I noted the string of DNFs and knew it would be a tough cache to find, and we probably spent about 20 min searching around the logs and area. I messaged the CO previously to get some help for where this cache should have been, and in addition to concentrating our search around that spot, I suspect a backburn has taken this cache out. In saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if the cache(s) may still be here, but perhaps a lot harder than intended, as there is lots of bark fallen off and burnt areas around the stump.Having sought permission to replace the cache on behalf of the CO with approval, I replaced the cache in an area that hopefully is less likely to be impacted by ongoing log degradation and falling off bark strips. As a hint, look in between the two main logs. I found it interesting that georode previously found the original cache, so there may still be the original cache container here somewhere. Thanks DeFCoN_6 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This morning, baby Cottontail and I travelled south to Mount Cotton to do a couple of short bushland walks. After visiting the Karingal Scout area, our first loop in the Sandy Creek Conservation Area was from the aptly named Warren Street, followed by a loop in the Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area from West Mount Cotton Road. It was then time to head home for the lunch / early afternoon nap via Gundagai Drive Park playground, and we completed the [Belmont Tramway](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f16b4486-c0ce-4373-a6e3-56ed30d6061c) Adventure Lab and learned of its history between Norman Park and Carindale.
Searched high and low. Over and under. In and out. Previous log showed the view from GZ and we searched everything within a radius from there. Fear it may be gone.
Lovely bush land. Quick find as it was fully exposed. Left a pen. TFTC DeFCoN_6
Had help to find this one so that there was no longer a frowny. Glad to have found this one. It was the last one in the area that I needed and I helped find something else for the others that I was with. The area has changed/updated since last I was in the area which was nice.
Was able to see why and how I missed this one. Thanks for the hide.

Last cache here for Muggle65 and l today. It was totally exposed so we gave it a bit of cover. Thank you for placing this cache
It was closing in on 3pm & we were waining after a power bar we found an uphill slog to close in on the GZ. Easily found reasonably exposed , so after signing we returned it & placed some bark over the top to better conceal it
Lovely area for a walk but maybe not from the 7th to 9th May. Not sure if I found the cache where it’s meant to be but I signed the log and replaced as found. TFTC.
It’s funny how when you are walking through the bush everything becomes irrelevant. Taxes, alimony, bra sizes and Santa Claus giving out charcoal are all things you don’t waste your time thinking about. Although some kids just need a good smack instead of getting something that can ruin the environment. Damn you Santa!
On this part of the track everything seemed flat and my wife and I thought life was grand. We knew there was a climb in front of us but when Santa brings you charcoal and caches we were up for the assault. tftc

For a hike up here today to enjoy the forest. Found the container after some searching around. The last log is from 27/08/2017, so not sure if the other logbook is missing or 2 containers in the game.

Third find for the day. This cache was quite tricky to find, with so many possible places, and it not being in one of the more likely holes. Actually, the hiding place is a bit flimsy and it might transpire that in the future the cache will drop to the ground and need a new housing spot. It was also made difficult because our coordinates were a bit out, too, but then the forest played havoc with the GPS all day.
Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache.

Wednesday afternoon, back in the general area for the second day in a row.
Another bushwalk to collect some caches.
Perfect weather for the walk.
Found a few meters from my zero, it is all about the angle

Headed south to the Redlands to track down a few older caches, it seems this area is blessed with quite a few we have yet to visit.
Found while out in the trails.

Monday. Today was a day of MTBing with Que Sera targeting some great caches in this area. Only a couple more caches to go now and we will have cleaned out this area. We came upon the area and spotted the cache just sitting there. It wasn’t out in the open, but wasn’t far from being so. We signed the log and replaced as found. Quick spotting this cache.
This was the 17th of 19 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***DeFCoN_6***, for showing us this place.

Mrs slow puncture and I decided to take our bikes to find 19 caches along these tracks. We started at Charlie and finished at giddy up It took us 5 hours and there were lots of times we needed to walk our bikes but other times it was a nice breezy ride. We were able to ride most of the way from the last cache and the little uphill walks by now my legs were starting to run out of energy so it was a brave from me to stop to find this cache. Thanks for the fun
Cache found at 8.35 am. 2nd for the morning. Lovely place for a walk.
I have been meaning to start on this series of caches and happy now i have a few under my belt.

Looked all around GZ for this one for about 15 minutes. Just as I was beginning to think this would be a DNF, there it was almost out in the open.

On the way home i decided to detour to find the 17 caches in the Mount Cotton reserve. It was completely dark now but i had my torch. Thanks DefCon
Out with E_smiley and geogirl today tidying up the area and collecting old caches. This loop was a really nice walk! This find had us going around in circles but a previous log took us right to the hiding place! Thanks for the cache
Another enjoyable day today with geobuddies. We collected caches in the area.

After finding Charlie, I backtracked a little to Alpha but, unable to find it, I headed back past Charlie to come and find this. Crossing onto the fire trail where the two tracks almost meet, I soon found myself at GZ and headed up the hill as indicated by the GPSr. However, I couldn't find anything and headed back to the base to the log to begin my search again. This time, I made a quick find on the other side of the log.
While I was signing the log, I thought I could hear voices. Looking up, I realised that there were a couple of mountain bike riders at the top of the hill. That must be where the other track goes. They were just standing there talking but they had their backs to me so I don't think they knew that I was there. By the time I was done with the cache they had moved on.
Thanks for the cache.

Nearly 18 mths ago I logged a DNF but I needed a Traditional for today as noted this one is back in play so off I went. The days are short so as soon as I got home from work I headed off as this cache being only 9 or 10 Klms from home. Back at the same place that i couldn't find the cache at last time and it getting dark I was almost going to give up and a bit of a scratch here and there I spied what was giving me grief, quickly retrieved the cache and signed the log then replaced all as found and out before its got too dark. TFTC
31/7/18 Out for a couple of quick caches after work. A reasonably quick find in a logical spot. TFTC
I would like to thank Eatmorchikn for replacing this cache on my behalf as I no longer live in Queensland and was unable to replace this cache myself. Apologies to all that DNFd!! Please continue to enjoy this complete series in such a nice area
This cache has now been replaced by Eatmorchikn many thanks to you! With me being interstate and all my geo friends no longer in the area it has been hard getting someone to replace this one!
This cache was replaced by us during our walk on the Mt Cotton circuit which took us up to the top of the mountain, starting from the quarry. We ducked across and replaced the cache on our way around the loop. It was our intention to not log this cache as found until we did the other caches in the smaller loop starting from down the road. Well the circuit and summit walk took much less time than we anticipated so we decided when we got back to the car to duck in and do the four caches on the loop down the road. So we ended up walking up to this cache and signing our name in the log - it was an easy find Ha Ha. Our third cache in this smaller loop. TFTC.
On behalf of DeFCoN_6, and with their authorisation, we replaced this cache. We were walking the Mt Cotton circuit and did a detour across to this location so this one can be back in the game.
Good Day,
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

Should’ve checked the previous logs before coming to this one. Could’ve saved walking time
We thought of finding this one as we were in the area. We spent 25 minutes at GZ, and the GPSr was saying we were 1 meter away from GZ. After searching for a while for this cache we left on a DNF
after looking up and down in the usual places. Can the CO please confirm whether or not the cache has survived the recent extreme weather event.

Spent quite a while looking for this cache but had to surrender when it started getting dark. Will return for another look even though the last entry was a DNF. Maybe next time.
I spent about half an hour looking here for this one, with no joy unfortunately
I am disappointed I couldn't find a 200ml sistema that description says "should be pretty easy to find for everyone". Well all I can say is the last person must have camo'd the cache pretty good lol
I'll have to put this one on my watch list, and next person that finds it can expect a message asking for a hint on where exactly you found it. So take a pic to send me please

After a work meeting and voting yesterday, I decided to do these caches. A nicely hidden cache. TFTC and this great little series! Now off to the next cache (but not in the series).
There was a few folks with a few reasons wanting a group geocaching excursion. Some keen on getting outside or collecting a few finds to boost numbers for milestones later this year. A plan was made to collect this bunch around Mount Cotton. I've been straight up the mountain before, but not these two series' to the north. So I was in for the day's adventure, no matter how hot it's going to get. Net88 and I left from the northside and even though I made a mistake of the agreed meeting time and we were two hours late, we stopped for an archived find, then headed south quick-like. We met up with Pprime, Fangsoki and Dosshell in the bush as they were half way around the circuit.
Oh wow, the walk to this from Charlie was hilly, in the sun and generally awfully hot. We could walk slowly though as Dosshell and Pprime had detoured to grab another geocache farther north that Fangsoki, Net and I had already found. When we neared GZ, Fangsoki, having already found this one, stayed on the track as Net and I went bush. Such a complex mess of who's found what! We began looking about and after a couple minutes Fangsoki was calling out extra hints. Maybe he was getting impatient
Eventually we found it - not quite where we expected, but the geocache all the same! A funny little spot here, between the trails. We did what we had to do, rejoined the track and slowly wandered to the next geocache south while the others caught up. Thanks for this geocache, DeFCoN_6

Out for a walk with Dosshell and Fangsoki, and decided today was time for the big "V" that makes up West Mt Cotton. A quick find in a nice spot. Not the most obvious spot, but nice.
Thanks for placing this cache, DeFCoN_6. Found in good condition.

Captain Terror and I had planned to meet up with Fangsoki, Pprime and Dosshell to grab a few caches in the area. We were about to leave home at the arranged time when we realised the Captain had a message saying the start time was two hours earlier... whoops. By the time we caught up to them they had made it halfway around the track. Dosshell and Prime headed up to grab Giddy Up and left Fangsoki to walk with us back to Bravo.
It was so hot today, walking up the small hill in the sun towards this cache was horrible. Captain Terror and I left Fangsoki on the path and headed down towards GZ. We must have been taking too long because Fang was shouting out directions for us to search in. Eventually we found it and with our names in the logbook it was time to meet back up with Prime and Dosshell. Thanks for the cache DeFCoN 6

Pprime Dosshell, and I were in the area grabbing some caches.
It was mooted whether we get these ones - or just continue back along the loop. It was decided we'll go for them all.
We descended down the hill and poked around in various areas before Pprime revealed the beast. It was in good condition. TFTC DeFCoN_6

On a little daytime walk to clear my thoughts, break the routine and get outdoors for a change. After doing a nearby older cache my trek took me here.
The fire trail leading here was graded with a bulldozer or something, it was very level most parts of it, like having been prepared for paving. Easy walk, for sure. Perhaps it was for the emergency services to have an easy passage and fast travels here in case there's a bush fire.
At the GZ I started the search by looking through different nooks and grannies. And what did I find there in one corner: a "gentlemen's magazine". Well, did not sign that one...
Continuing the search went through more options and one of them suddenly made sense - and a container was presented. Yes, now this makes sense here!
Given there is apparently muggle activity in this particular area, perhaps a stash note in the container might be useful. Possibly something the CO can add when doing his next maintenance run.
All good here. TFTC, DeFCoN 6!

So this adventure started a few weeks ago with Wombles and Co talking about doing her 25differentD/T challenge. 1/2 of Scattsmadhouse asked to come along for the day as well to pick up some caches. So this morning (early) we started our day, along with mumma (barbbowman).
Happy to say we completed the 25D/T's and were home just as the sun was starting to go down.

A few weeks ago some fellow cacher friends were talking about doing 25 caches in a day to meet the needs for a challenge for one of the group. Finding an area with 25 unfound caches were soon compiled and the plan was in motion. Today we ( barbbowman, bubba and wombles and co) were all up and on the road before dawn , eager to find caches and help wombles get her 25 caches.

Bubba89 had been awesome enough to work out a list for me for the 25 D/T challenge so we planned a whole day out with an early start! The 4 of us (Bubba, Barbbowman, Ree of Scattsmadhouse and I) met up before the sun was up and set off for the day.
This one was a quick find then we spent some time figuring out the best way to get to the next one!

Encomium to DeFCoN for finding a great piece of camouflage. Panegyric accolades for the Queensland bush. Laudation for Geocaching - such a wonderful game. Oh, and we found the cache at 3.25pm on 17th July 2015. TFTC.
We were all over the place with this one. First we diverted of the trail too early and once at gz we overlooked this cache. Whilst we were never giving this took us a little bit to narrow down with so many good options. Tftc. A clever hide.
Approached from the top of the rise and came down the side of the fallen tree. Smartphone was spot on today and soon had this one in hand. Clever use of natural camo. Signed and replaced as found. TFTC.
After the fun at Alpha and Charlie I headed for Bravo. I didn't know what to expect but knew it would be worth the walk! It did take me a while and I did a few circles before finally spiralling in to the correct GZ. I was surprised again by another cunning hide - so simple yet so effective. Well done again DeFCoN_6 and thanks.
Omg we were nearly ready to give up on this one. But I insisted on one more look around the fallen tree.
Lol. Found it!!!!! The GPS took me straight to it. But I just didn't look properly! Look for the obvious!

I was offered the opportunity to accompany the less attractive half of Couchmen on a bit of a bush walk to find, not only caches, but also the summit of Mount Cotton today.
We are good to go!
Once again we had a situation where our co-ords were at odds.
After a little toing & froing we narrowed it down to a triangular area which we then began to search systematically.
It wasn't long before Couchmen turned up the cache. Signed & replaced.
Looks like this is a playground for possum at night!

Mr Linden/6 & I (Mr Couchmen) decided on a more difficult day today so Mrs's Linden & Couchmen decided to just let us go by ourselves.
It was hot but with the cloud cover, a nice breeze and an occasional sprinkle of rain it was actually quite pleasant!!
Boy there are just so many places you can hide things in the bush!!! And a wavering GPS doesn't help!!
We searched in many separate locations then worked our way back and then I spotted something a little out of place and sure enough I had the prize in hand soon after!!
Thanks Defcon 6 TFTC SL TNLN

Out for a day of caching around the Mt Cotton area. An early start to the morning and a lovely day to be out in the bush. Spent a rather long time hunting for this one and was getting more and more frustrated as reading the recent logs indicated this should be an easy find. Had to answer a call of nature and after returning to the search had it spotted withing 15 seconds. Grrr! Tftc
Nice easy find and thanks for bringing us to this lovey old girl who still shone brightly on the ground tftc
