Logs
looked but couldn't find, read the logs and wasn't sure what was right or wrong, had another look and as i was about to give up i found it, i was looking for a small and found a small pill bottle that was well hidden, tftc
Very quick find even in the wind and rain. Lw cackled very nicely !! TFTC and the fun!!
This was a very quick find and I have to confess to having a wee chuckle about the previous DNF. There is a story behind my chuckling
Tufty and I decided to go travel out to Port Chalmers in the cachemobile signing off those of the Albatross series and other mystery and other types of caches that we hadn't each signed off earlier. Just as I began to search a farmer chugged up the hill on his old tractor and stopped for a chat. He asked if I was one of those 'queer' people looking for treasure! Unfortunately I didn't find the treasure here. Even Tufty couldn't re-find it either! So sadly it's a DNF from me.
In my opinion, the difficulty should be higher because the terrain it not well-maintained. We needed 2 visits to find it. However, the view from here is beautiful and the place is very peaceful. Thanks for the cache!
It is time to sign off a few of the Albatross series of puzzle caches. This isn't one of the above but got in the way so just had to sign it off.Cheers for the cache, Hall-way.
Saved heaps of cash not paying to find this easy cache. The pillcan is a bit dewy but ok. TFTC mate
Pleased to pick up this cache today. Finding a few caches around Dunedin today to help with some challenges I am working on. Thanks Hall-way for the cache.
On a walk up from an allocated park at the Uni, no one needed towed today. Stepped off the North rd to pick up the wet box found not that hidden in the spot. A ripped damp logslip in a wet glad baggy was signed, chucking one of our pink RITR logslips *(that get's removed from our found caches by anti-cacheri)* in a minigrip; watch out for cows. You will need a **good pen** should you actually be signing the logs. Dried the cache out and grabbed the goods in a new baggy. Checked over the swag, TNLN and returned the cache more hidden than when found. Cito'd a bottle from the neighbours hedge for fundraising at the hospice. Noice pastoral views on a clear day but I bet that wind is cold in the Winter. *Labyrinth **15pt** trad **190pt***. TFTC
I was here on a wet day, which made looking for the cache in the long grass quite a messy business. Didn't take too long to find, but there was water inside the cache container. The inner plastic bag doesn't zip up, but fortunately the log paper is rite in rain, so I was able to sign. Rolled the bag up before placing it back inside, to help keep the rain out. TFTC.
When we stopped the car my 5 year old popped out and grabbed it. Very exciting
Relatively easy find once I eliminated the other possibilities. As per previous logs there was about 2 cm of water in the cache. Logbook soaked but surprisingly writable. Dried out container and bag. Tftc
Nearly a year after the last find, so same comments apply. Contents, especially logbook, soaked, so added a sheet from my note book to sign.
It was clear this hadn't been found in a while. It was fully over grown and required me to stick my arm way under to reach it and then basically dig it out. It's a in obvious location but requires some gardening. TFTC
An attempt was made, but no sign of a cache around the likely and less likely hides.
We too had a good look here today but no sign of this one, it may need the CO to investigate.
Well hidden. Avoided the electric fence but stood in a thistle instead! Cache wet.
Funny story, this one. We were on the way to Port Chalmers when my Sister took a wrong turn. The GPS insisted that there was a way forward (and it wasn’t wrong). We drove past the cache and I insisted that I go look for it. Found it and had to run uphill back to the car. The view here is excellent, by the way. TFTC!
After a fun day of caching and trekking around Mt Cargill and Orokonui it was time to head home with a couple of stops along the way. Nice quick P&G and an audience watching me very closely! TFTC
Apologies for logging late, but we found this one as the rain well and truly set in - still, the views were worth it. Found by the youngest member of the group. Cheers
Heading north out of Dunedin this afternoon and I decided to take the old scenic route via Mt Cargill. Plugged my destination into the vehicle GPS and got taken on an even older route which was single lane for a lot of the way, I'm guessing this must once have been the main road out of Dunedin! Plenty of space to park near GZ and an instant find in the first place checked - in the lower North Island we have hundreds of these sorts of hides. Signed log, TFTC
Biked out to Forrester Park and then walked up to earn a smilie before spending 20 minutes in Forrester Park looking for an elusive new one.
Out and about with vdh56 crew with Mrs V doing the driving while I do a "miss driving daisy" act we found this one without any problems.
A quick park and grab with Sirbennis while we are out and about getting a few caches before the snow starts to fall again. TFTC
Looking through some caches to do and realised We had done this one when was out and about with Cressy75 and never logged it sorry must had no data tftc
Found this one out in the open. Placed back a little more carefully so it wasn't seen. TFTC
Another cache found in the rain with tmann421 on a fun geocaching trip away.
Thanks for encouraging us to visit this area - good drive around!

Another good find while in the area with Just-Lookin.
Weather was against us again today with rain showers and strong wind.
We found this cache fairly quickly.

Out for a drive to Waitati and back today. An easy find, once I saw where the coordinates were pointing me towards - and what a view! Glad I came up here today despite the cloudy grey weather that was threatening pretty much all afternoon. Cheers!

[xx(][xx(][xx(] BE AWARE - THAT IS AN ELECTRIC FENCE! [xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(]
OUCH!
(Oh, yes I found the cache after throwing stones at it to check it wasn't the actual cache that zapped me)

Very grateful for the good parking here. Enjoyed the view from here too. TFTC #7931
Tftc. Hay fever playing up in the long grass thankfully it was a quick and easy find
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
We decided to try and get a few around Dunedin head north up the Leith and Waitati valleys and back into town over Mt Cargill. We stopped in Waitati for a great lunch. The weather played nicely too. We stuck around town to grab the ones in town before it got too busy. Quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Heading southwards towards signal hill. A quick find along the way. Cheers.

A quick find thanks.
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Quickly found after us both doing a mad rush for the suspicious rock but a quick look around soon had it in hand TFTC
hehehe. The rock fooled us both, but not for long. Found with PC Sniff on a lovely winter's day. Thanks for placing the cache
Be aware, 3rd wire down is electric. Log is full, squeezed Misspod & my name in. Tftc
Have been saving this one for an appropriate occasion - today was the day. Cache check at Orokonui needed: a bike ride , short detour, admire view and onward into the humid head wind.
Logsheet full- needs replacing. Cache in good condition.

A quick find in the obvious place, no electric fences present today. No TB in the cache either. TFTC
Found the cache after a brief search. Took time to reminisce of earlier days when the nearby Brown House restaurant was the place to be. Sadly it has all gone.
The November DNF put me off having a go at this during my 31 day challenge as I wasn't really needing a wasted trip up this way - there were no other unfounds for me close by and there was never going to be a way to combine this with an errand or something similar. The recent finds were enough of an impetus to come and have a look. A quick easy find, co-ords spot on. The bottom rung of the nearby fency thing is dislodged (hopefully this isn't cacher damage). A thoroughly inclement evening for caching. No wind at home but gusting with wind and driving rain. TFTC - 48 consecutive days of caching and now that I'm close to a significant number I suppose I must go on a go for the 50.
