Logs
I'ts been a while and as other plans had been disrupted due to rain it was time to catch up on all those logs, this being but one of about 250 of them.
Another trip in the company of HKCB and we were over this way after having to change our previous plans for a big days tramping so better to be close to town clearing out a few we hadn't got before. Working through the caches around Welcome Bay so that another clear spot appears on the map. Must say we are enjoying the darkness in the morning so that we can get into the area while others are still asleep
A nice and quiet spot as we continued our journey along the Mount before working our way down to Papamoa before we head back home
Thanks for the cache thanks for the placement

The construction in the area has made this placement inaccessible so will archive and place a new cache in the area.
Zara, Etherlord and I are at last on our way home from the Turangi Mega. The trip back to Plamerston North will take three days!
The area was fenced off - someone had captured a digger and caged it off in here, till a paddy wagon comes to take it away. It seemed to be asleep, so I snuck in and retieved the cache. It did leave me a bit exposed to muggles, but they did not seem to be watching.

It took the Seagnoid and I three days to drive the ~250KM from Palmerston North to Turangi for the Mega.
I wonder how long it'll take us to drive home given that our post-Mega road trip will be via Tauranga to collect the North Island's only remaining Webcam Cache!
This one had some access issues. Someone has installed a sea-side zoo here where the star attraction is a digger. the Seagnoid managed to creep into its enclosure and find the cache without waking the beast.

This area is currently fenced off for construction. The cache will probably need checking when the construction is finished.
Quick find on a sunny day. Lots of disinterested muggles!!
Beautiful place!

Quick trip down to the Strand to tick of a few DNF from when we had first started geocaching! With a lot more experience the cache was quickly in hand! TFTC
Out n about with My.Precious. Had been here before a couple of times looking for cache, but the number of muggles pasting by inhibit a decent search. This afternoon, the weather didn't encourage the usual amount of foot traffic that occur along the Strand. Now having found it I can see why we missed it. Great camo. Signed with our joint monogram TT2M.P
Out n about today with Tigatat2 and took the allowed 5 minute stop to hopefully get this one at last.
We had been here before to try and get the smiley face but had always been foiled by the number of muggles passing by. The weather today deterred the usual amount of foot traffic but there were still plenty of tourists about.
Followed the hints and clues so the find was made by Tiga in the allotted time with me giving directions.
Didn't need to unhook as the log container wasn't attached as described. Great camo that blends well. Signed with our joint monogram of TT2M.P

Went for a walk around central Tauranga after lunch today on one of my rare visits here. Found this one pretty quickly in the second place checked. Signed log, TFTC.
I had eyeballed this one earlier in the day but there were muggles sitting nearby so i decided to put it off until night time. I had two muggle friends with me who were interested in seeing some geocaches, so they helped me to find this one. Our second find of the night and they were pretty stoked. Off we went to find another cache. Tftc.
Great find for Master 8 while I kept Master Five busy watching the birds nearby. TFTC
Picked this one up as we wandered along the waterfront to the train bridge. TFTC
Yeah found it..sometimes the simple can frustrate you...took a serious look to find this sucker but good to put a smilie on it thanks for the cache
Searched for this a while ago but too many muggles. Quick find this morning while watching kahawai leap out of the water nearby. I wasn't the only one who couldn't believe what I saw. Thanks for the cache
After looking for it in the dark on Friday. .....found it today in daylight. ...nice one. ....
Needed some searching but then - after reading some previous notes - we found it. TFTC
We sat on the edge to let the muggles go past and then grabbed the cache. TFTC
Found this one after my failed (second) attempt at Fisherman's Rest. I had some time to spare, but ended up spending a good 15-20 mins searching for this one due to conflicting hints and clues from the info page and previous logs. Either way, I found it. TFTC. Greetings from Auckland!
#3233 - Had to sit on the edge to find this one, loads of people here today!
Traveling in Aus and NZ, this was one of the caches we logged on our journey, TFTC

After breakfast, we had a short bike ride around the Mount where we found a couple of caches, then we returned to base for a coffee and to plan the rest of the day. As we had yet to visit central Tauranga, that was the main objective, together with some solved puzzles and the web cam at Sulphur Point.
It didn't take long to sniff out this cache. The waterfront here is a wonderful asset to the area, and we enjoyed our walk here. And of course, the caches made it that much more fun! TFTC.

#11842. I went over the edge, and Troodles stayed on the edge, and she found the cache. TFTC.
An awesome wee find after visiting the Hairy McCleary statue. Introduced my grandparents to geocaching!
Not in the bush but it is a good place to start. Added a piece of paper. We seem to be doing that a lot.

Took me a while to find it due to hint and logs quite different... Little hint: You don't have to pay much attention to the foliage log must be replaced !
November in Europe, the dark month, neighter autumn nor winter: short days, rain, fog. Everywhere unlucky people.
But now we are in NZ. Early sunrise, mighty green and flowers everywhere. Happy cows and sheeps also. We delight look forward to such lovely challenge. Thank you NZ. Greetings from Germany, from the mountains of Harz. TFTC

Not in its original place but easy enough to find. It's not on the tree so don't break any more twigs.
We checked on this recently and it's not in it's original position. We've updated the hint until we can do some maintenance, so please don't damage the tree while looking!
Had a good look. Plenty of mugglers but didn't take any notice of us. Several broken twigs on tree. But no sign of cache.
New bike, lovely sunny day; no-brainer really.
Well, we checked every leaf on this tree whilst nonchalantly munching an apple, but eventually the apple was gone and we had to really think outside the edge clue - where else it could possibly be? Check. tick. Yup, life is full of surprises. TFTC

Out on an epic caching adventure with HKCB, iammrwalker and 11hpg11 as an honourary guest and the 'K' in signature 1HIK or HIK1 to make a dent in the caches of Tauranga.
This cache had the others crawling all over the only spot. I went in for the kill in a spot they searched previously and came up trumps. Woohoo! I see nzkites has updated the hint which is great to see! Definitely no need to break anything.

Another big mission for our little Hamilton team. Maybe this time we can clean out Tauranga and the surrounding areas. Our team consisted of HKCB, Iammrwalker, Kyb3r and myself. We signed the logs as HIK1 (or 1HIK as the day went on!) Another 4am wakeup and we were on the road by 5am. Back home by 11pm I think it was, it was all kind of a blur by then! We were fueled by Sour Patch Kids, B.K., Caffeine and quite a few painkillers. We had a great day with a large variety of cache types, sizes and difficulty! Thanks to all the cache owners for their hard work on giving us some great quality caches to find. We had a few milestones hit today and I think we all had a great time. Looks like we might be back again some time in the future!
We had tried another cache a bit futher down but some muggles were planted firmly on top so we moved down to this one while we waited. A bit of a hunt here as we were following the hint, but we should have checked the last log for a more up to date hint. Thanks for the cache

This is the 3rd mission over to Tauranga in recent months with 11HPG11 and iammrwalker to turn the place into a bunch of similes, but this time Kyb3r joined in on the fun also. An early start from Hamilton meant we were greeted by a fantastic sunrise of Tauranga as we made our way down from the Kaimai's, and by the time we had decided we had had enough the sun had well and truly gone to bed, but we did see it disappear while halfway up the Mount.
We found some great caches throughout the day and had some very memorable moments, and I even hit a major milestone, my 5000th cache find. We signed the logs 1HIK (an acronym of our caching names) or some combination of these letters to save room on the logs. A big thanks to everyone for all of the great cache hides.
After having to give up on one further down the walkway due to muggles we were hoping to get a nice quick find on this cache, especially as we had a previous finder with us. No such luck today, but with four sets of eyes looking we eventually located it, once we found the new hint in a previous log.

#7144. A nice stroll along Tauranga's Harbour edge after dinner this evening. Fortunately, GZ itself was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search, but not in the type of hiding place expected from reading the geocache description. Despite no longer being hooked, the cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Replaced as found.

Nice hike today from 13th Ave to The Mount. 26 finds in total. But just nice to be out on such a nice day!
Easy one and a nice 5min break.
Love the new Hairy Maclary installation!
TFTC and greetings from Hong Kong!

Well named cache, knew just where to look thanks to previous logs. Thank you nzkites for providing us with an entertaining afternoon at the waterfront
A lovely day to be out on the waterfront, had to come and see the new sculptures and find a few caches near by. mugs everywhere but waited for the strategic moment for a quick find, sign and replace. Great spot. TFTC
Great camo! Many places it could have been but just took a few moments to spot. Sat nearby and soaked in the views while signing the log TFTC
This camo blends in really well thanks nzkites ! In plain view but tricky to see unless you have the correct angle and focus ! Thanks for the challenge !
Also interesting to see the Margaret Mahy Animal dog Statues nearby !

Busy day here with a new attraction in the park but everyone was busy with other activities so a quick grab once spotted. Tftc
I'm in the Tauranga/Mt Maunganui area to get a few of additions to my new caravan and so while they are working on that I am going to work on getting my numbers a bit bigger.
This one is very nicely hidden.
Cheers for the cache.

Lovely morning for a walk in such a beautiful place! Sat on the rocks and there it was TFTC
Was around 11.30pm last night and was still not feeling tired at all after work, and with Wednesday being a big day with the All Blacks game, work then State of Origin final was worried might run out of time for my daily cache, so a midnight cache trip was in order. Chucked on a beanie and jacket and first stop was the old post office after a hint from CO, must be loosing my knack as even after a hint couldnt find it, being this time at night thought this one down the waterfront would be muggle free. Shot down here and this one took quite awhile. Very good camo work on this one NZKites was quite a challenge but found in the end now must be getting tired as a second mission to try find where to attach the cache back lol got there in the end and good to keep the streak going and can now kind of have a day off and enjoy the games. TFTC
Visiting NZ from the US and spending the day in Tauranga with a friend. Picked up a few caches around town. TFTH!
Made friends with a seal while we were at it. Nice easy find if you're a ninja
In town for meeting this afternoon having dinner at Macau grabbed this on my way to dinner.
Stopped down here for a walk and grab a few caches while here. Wandered along the waterfront and figured where the cache would be as we approached GZ.
Got over the edge and there it was - signed the log and returned to it's spot.
Liked this cache, the simplicity in a high muggle area and virtually in plain sight. Gets a FP. Thanks for placement nzkites.
