I couldn't find this one today. I did enjoy the amazing views though!

No luck for me today, I'm afraid. It was the 'just one more' cache when I should have been heading home, so maybe it was just cache blindness. TFTH sierra1.

The daughter and I had spent the day caching around Palmwoods and I threatened a swim at Kondalilla Falls and when we put the address into the car navigation a windy uphill route appeared. This looks like fun for me so I asked the navigator to keep any eye open for any caches along the way. Half way up the drive I was informed there was one nearby but this road was tight and there was no safe place to park. We rounded the corner and the best cark park on earth appeared. We gots to go for it.

We started our search and I was really going hard. A swim was coming and I needed to work up a sweat. My caching partner was transfixed in one spot for about 5 minutes until she says "have a look at this". Thanks for the heads up. It was definitely odd and a definitely a cache. I unscrewed the lid and grabbed the log. I didn't have a pen on me, so I ran back to the car whilst my daughter kept an eye on the cache in case we lost it. It was such a great hide, it could easily be overlooked. Thats when the problem began. As I was closing the lid, the cache camo disintegrated and I was pushing not pulling. Suddenly I had a cache container in my hand no longer attached. What the?

We tried in vain to reattach it, but the material has given way. It looked like we could temporarily squeeze it back into position, but the next rain shower or wind would just blow it on the ground. In the end we had to wedge it into some branches about 30cm from its original position and message the CO with the bad news. My daughter was feeling guilty but there was nothing we could do except award the favourite point we talked about before "destroying" the cache container. We emerged, saddened to enjoy the view before I had a Mario moment. tftc

Definitely a clever hide! The name of the cache totally makes sense once you find it. This is my first cache for the 2017 with a fantastic view, once you're back in the open. Happy New Year Y'all! TFTC

We both had a couple of days break from work so Dannza and I decided to spend our time catching up while caching. Lovely walks and coffees in the rain in this beautiful area. Fantastic container and we were very careful when opening to sign the log. TFTC and apologies for the late log.

Quick find when I squatted down to look from different angle. Not sure how you made this container but very realistic. TFTC

We looked and looked then just when the smell of bat pooh was getting to me I spotted the cache in the tree and thought of the infestation we had at home of these particular things never guessing it was the cache until I inspected more closely. A fav from us, very clever. TFTC JenneG and Budgy

3:57:00 PM. We were out and about again today to check some of our caches and clean up a few of the ones that have sprung up since we left 20 months ago. Found the parking area and headed bush. After a brief search the better half made the find on a very clever cache. Worth a favourite point from us even if I did walk in human shit while seaching. So just be careful in there. Cleaned off boots on the grass thank goodness. Thanks seirra1 for placing this cache.

Mrs SlowPuncture and I had headed north to do a little caching. We had parked near this one and searched unsuccessfully before heading up the hill to a nearby "Oldest and Finest". On returning to the cars, we decided to do a little CITO at GZ and to have another look for the cache. We searched unsuccessfully for a while. Then Mrs SlowPuncture spotted this very clever cache. Definitely worth a FP! I would give it more than one, if I could. Thanks for this great cache. Oh, and by the way, we left GZ with a bit less rubbish laying around than when we arrived.

Tuesday. Kerry from Slow Puncture took off from her domestic duties (LOL) for a quick drive up to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to pick up a few caches.

What an excellent cache hide. Very well constructed and deserving of a FP. Co-ords are spot on with this cache but it still took a bit of meticulous searching to claim this smiley. Easy to see why 3 of the last four vists were DNFs Surprised

This was the 2nd of 5 caches found on this trip.

Thanks [Blue]seirra1[/Blue], for showing us this place. Favourite point awarded.

*sigh* This one's tricky! We successfully managed to avoid several car loads of tourists and the mower men while we were here. Tried to think out of the box with this one, but it didn't help much. Will have to return another day. Thanks.

I heard about an old cache around the camp fire last night at Dunethin Rock which had me very interested. Early this morning I dragged K8'n'Co out of his tent kicking and screaming but once he found out what the plan was he was happy to ride shotgun. I noticed this ripper was just down the hill from the oldie and the CO just happened to be camping with us this weekend, well it was his event. So before we left I went looking for him to inquire whether or not this one was still in play. What I got back was "oh yeah it'll still be there". Mmm, to me that sounded like trouble but I didn't let on to K 8 until we were half way through our search.
So fast forward to GZ and we spent ages wandering around in circles. We were there that long two car loads of sight seers came and went. We tried deciphering the cache name but that got us no where. We checked every tree 4 dozen times and even consulted previous logs but all produced nothing. At the very least K 8 was taking home a souvenir from some of the things left behind for another one of his creations but at the 11th hour luck kicked in. Are you friggin kidding me? OMG. That is bloody amazing.
"oh yeah it'll still be there", now I understand. Love ya work seirra1, I have no problems handing over a favorite point for this one. Glad we stopped by and extremely happy we didn't give up a minute earlier.
Thanx again seirra1

Cache is back in place and the way is clear. There are some slight hold-ups with roadworks. Happy caching.

22-Apr-15
Been to the area of GZ today, but due to works on the road it will be a couple of more weeks before i can re-enable the cache.

26-Mar-15
Access is still restricted in the area.

23-Jan-15
Road work camp still hindering access to GZ. Will enable the cache as soon as possible.

02-Jan-15
The roadworks campsite is still in close proximity to the cache location and will cause problems with accessing the cache. I have removed the cache from the location until works are finished.

30-Oct-14
Cache has been damaged and there is a work camp close by which will cause problems accessing the area.

Very cool. Thanks to a helpful hint it didn't take too long. Smile favorite from us.

We are based at Landsborough with the caravan at the scout camp which is a good location to head out in different directions to find caches. Since it was such a beautiful clear day we decided to do the 3 M towns up in the highlands and enjoy the gorgeous views. What an evil and creative cache this one was. Luckily Bruce spotted the cache fairly quickly, we did do one similar near Bundaberg a couple of years ago. Fav point alloc. The terrain rating - well yes we found the hard way in and the easy way out WinkBig Grin. Thanks to seirra1.

Awesome camo!! It took us a while found with Falzie and fifimarrie

09-Mar-14
Well this is rather embarrassing - we just could not find this cache. We climbed all through the bush which didn't make sense as the terrain is only 1.5! We must be missing something here, but the rain was heading towards us so we admitted defeat and headed off.

Teamed up with Bushbashr @ 5am! Damn it's raining, that changes the plan of mountain hiking! Quick change of plans and here we come Nambour to Maleny to Palmwoods! Out early for a good days adventure! Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful area and for hiding a cache here! Even on a cloudy wet day! 25th one for the day! GPS was bouncing terribly, Bushbashr spotted it as I was about to give up! That's a very unique container, I like it, a favorite from me!

06-Feb-14
This cache started to do our heads in. GPS bounced around more than a person Bungyjumping. Mountainman82 and I were about to walk out and then I spotted the little Blighter. Love the cache container, I have never seen one like this before VERY clever. TFTC

01-Feb-14
Well this one is nearly a drive-by but it's worth spending a few minutes enjoying the view which is pretty good. Parked close to GZ and proceeded to the area I thought looked it might hold a seirra1 cache. I had a fair idea of what to look for but spent a few minutes checking out all the wrong spots first before finding the treasure. Great cache! Not your usual cache this one but it does deserve a favourite. Thanks for the cache seirra1!

23-Jan-14
Nicest camo I have seen while traveling up from vic thanks guys this one had us stumped almost refused to look thinking it was some 8 legged creatures nest

23-Jan-14
Hmmm... not the usual micro

24-Dec-13
I spent about 15 minutes searching the area with my young niece & nephew, without spotting anything unusual or matching the hint. They were starting to tire so had to abandon the search, but not before a white ute pulled up, sat there for a while, then pulled out - probably just a local getting suspicious as to why this area gets so much attention!

16-Dec-13
That’s one more find for me! Thanks so much for hiding this geocache.

01-Dec-13
Really like this one. Thank you

30-Nov-13
Nice windy road to get to this one.
A bit muddy today as there was so much rain.
Eyes everywhere (21 pairs), still took a while to find. Once I got close enough to have a good look after hearing all the wow's I was also amazed.

Well deserved favourite point.

Part of the MEG#10 mob. Made it thru the day with no leaches, ticks, scratches and best of all no DNF’s. Once again thanks to Bulldozer72 for chauffeuring all day.
Lucky enough to be a part of this great game and for P’ to include us all in one of his Missions for 2013.

With the lead of Mr pPrime for a MEG day, we arrived at this one trying to stay as dry as we could, but brushing past lots of plants foiled that plan

There was a shout of "found it" and we all admired this very clever cache container

Thanks seirra1, Favourite from me.

Mobbed by MEG 10. What is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches I've not already found in an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every micro, every mystery, every mountain and everything in between. This is the tenth such group trip, and we aren't quite done yet.

We were into the day by now, and the rain just kept pelting down. Funny how many places we almost come back to as the year progresses. Been just up the road from here a few MEGs ago when this bit of road failed to exist. Good to see it open. Group hunt (yes, pouring rain and there were 21 of us) and we were a little bit spread out, but general GPSr consensus kept coming back to a smallish radius ... when finally someone read the hint (sheesh I know) ... and a really cool little find. Nice work.

Thanks for placing this cache, seirra1. Mobbed in good condition.

I was part of Pprime's MEG#10 today, and although it rained pretty much most of the day, I had a grand time. I was able to tag along in ruzzelz's car along with Hiltonclan.

Many spots to search here, and it was a sneaky hide, but Pprime eventually laid hand to it. Love the camo. TFTC, seirra1.

Part of the MEG 10 group today out and about soaking up the rain. The ground was starting to get really muddy so we gently searched here and there and tried not to slip over. After several minutes the call went up and we all took turns to have a look at the clever container. TFTC

30-Nov-13
We joined some crazy cachers for MEG #10 - Cleaning up the dregs, led as always by Mr pPrime for a day of fun and caches.

Dashed across the parking area trying to avoid the ever growing puddles to congregate with the others in the rain, eventually someone withe very sharp eyes spied this very very clever cache container.

Last day of November found me with a group of MEG #10 geocachers led by the impressive Pprime and chauffered by Crew153. Thanks so much to both of you for a fantastic and fun day.
Thank you too, seirra1 for placing this innovative and fun cache for us to find today. Even though it was pouring with rain none of us wished to be anywhere else. [^]

30-Nov-13
Found as part of MEG#10 in the pouring rain... so many eyes looking and it still took longer than I would have liked to locate this little fellow.... I was nowhere near it so it was not me who actually found the little fellow... but very clever indeed, first I have seen of this kind!

Very very clever!
The rain was getting slightly annoying by now. But I'd just about given up on staying dry.

Found while out on the MEG #10 trip

30-Nov-13
With the MEG#10 group. Very well hidden. Pprime found it eventually and even after he noticed it, most of us thought that couldn't be it. TFTC!

30-Nov-13
MEG#10

It was raining and I found a tree to stand under where I was a little less cold and wet. I had this exact thought run through my head as everyone searched around me "Wouldn't it be funny if it was actually really close to me?!" Turns out I was guarding it and as soon as I moved away and there was room for more experienced cachers it was found.

I feel like I am a little more educated after seeing this cache. And Even though I think its cruel that anyone would make such a thing.. I think it deserves a favourite because I will always remember this one!

30-Nov-13
That was a classy hide! Perhaps less enjoyable in the rain than it would have been with fewer cascades running down one's neck, but it was so good that the weather didn't matter Smile. A favourite point from me. TFTC, seirra1. =^.^=

Found on an epic caching trip with the MEG#10 group, conveniently organised during my visit [^] Excellent combination of various caches, some for the body and some for the mind, all contributing to a great day. Thanks to all CO's for placing the caches, great company of cachers, and to P' for organising at such a convenient time - even arranged for suitable weather to make me feel home! Razz

Aussie Liahona and I had joined Pprime (P') with a group of other cachers on his Final (#10) Mission Empty Glass attack on caches in the area. There we up to 20 of us at times. And we had a great time despite the rain.

We were trailing behind the pack and caught up with them again at this cache. It had been located before we arrived and we all stood in the shelter while the log was being signed for the group.

If I hadn't had read a bunch of previous logs here, I would have never known this road has been closed forever and a day. My GPSr said to take this route off the Maleny plateau and I sailed the Rolla down with not another thought of it. There was no other traffic so I had a good time driving down, looking at the view, driving like a noddy at times, including getting to this cache. I managed to find the least 'driveway-like' patch to drive over. Good thing my car is half 4WD. I parked and left it to look at the view while I went to look at a cache.

In my usual style, I managed to take the most difficult route into GZ. But hey, all roads.. right? I started looking around having a grand old failing time at locating a cache. I had to resort to some previous logs and was surprised I was a day behind a bunch of friends this far from home. When I headed the 'better' way out towards my car a few metres I spotted the cache. It blends in mighty well, but I guess having seen one or two before I instantly registered what I was looking at. All in good condition and now with my name uponst the logbook. A nice find on the way from wherever I was to whatever place I was headed - the journey is more important isn't it? TFTC sierra1, hope you enjoy my month late log Smile

Nearly gave up in this one. Saw something and went for a closer look. Wow! Very clever! Thanks for the cache seirra1. Smile

Ladies day out with Lady membsec, Net88 and Angela minus Dave. After a successful FTF mission we started back down the mountain. Angela pulled the red rocket safely of the windy road and we headed for GZ. Seeing as Net88 had already found the cache she gave a small hint when she knew we had gone to far. I came back closer to where she was standing and noticed something that always takes my interest, but then hang on..... That is a bit odd. Ooohhh! Haha! What a great cache Smile I made sure to treat the cache with respect and carefully retrieved the log.

TFTC seirra1 Big Grin

Heading out for ladies caching day, it was Nyssaflutterby, Membsec and Net88 with me heading towards the sunny coast on a not so sunny day!!

Putting the nose of the Red Rocket north once again, we see a new cache up ahead, on a road that has been closed for quite some time. I remember coming this way once before and being diverted.

We pull the rocket over to side of the road and up as close to the cache as we could. Out we bound and off into the bush! Net88 had previously found this one and stood back to laugh at us! "Do you want me to tell you guys when you've gone too far?" 'Um, yes?' "Ok, you've gone too far!" lol

Nyssa spots something unusual and on closer inspection, it's the cache!! Wow!! Q. How do we get it open!? A. With great care!! We're lucky Net had a bobby pin as the log was a little wedged in there! Need to remember to put some tweezers in the rocket!!

While we were signing the log, a ute pulled off the road and parked beside the rocket, sat there for a minute, then reversed out and got back onto the road!! Ok.... It is Halloween!! Wink

TFTC!

Out and about with the girls, Nyssaflutterby, net88 and Angela minus Dave! We had planned a trip to the Sunny Coast but after a detour for a ftf this cache was next. Net88 had already logged this one so it was good to have someone there to guide to the cache when we followed the GPS too far. Oh that way, but the GPS says that way. Believe me says Net and sure enough Nyssa soon cried out that she had found the well cammoed cache. Very well done but how do we open it? Very carefully Nyssa opened the cache so we all could sign the log.

TFTC seirra1 and a favourite point for the cammo!

1492. Spent a far amount of time here walking - well tripping in circles around where Garmin says ground Zero was, then I read the hint - that narrowed my angle of search, still another 5 minutes still nothing then I turned around, What's that ? Oh that's OK - Well Bugger Me It's The Cache.
Excellent cameo Mr Sierra1, signed log and replaced as found .
Sierra1 - TFTC. and a fav point

Was about to give up when changed angles I looked straight at it, couldn't stop laughing, amazing hide

04-Sep-13
I pulled up to look at the view and hopped out to go searching for the cache nearby.
Round and round I went looking for the CO's usual type of cache and couldn't find it.
It must be here somewhere I am at ground zero.
All of a sudden I spotted something and started to laugh.
Really.
Had to get a tool to extract log.

Have to admit I went to this one to do some homework on another one... really nice cache Sierra1, and how nice is the view from this spot?Everyone needs to stop and have a look at this one.

While out on our drive today, we couldn't go past this one. Arriving at GZ we started the search and knew this could be tricky Surprised
After scratching our heads for a little while I decided to move away from where our Garmin wanted GZ to be and viola, spotted the beast. Cool little hide there seirra1 Big Grin
Mr Parko ducked back to the car to get the correct tools to extract and we had it signed and tucked back away in no time. Great little spot here, would love to see it at night. Thanks seirra1, a well deserved favourite point Big Grin

Driving home with fangsoki and sweet bee and we had to get a few caches first. We jumped out of the mighty paj and headed over to GZ. After about ten minutes I spotted the container and got the others to come in for extraction. Thanks for the cache sierra1.

31-Aug-13
Net88, Sweet_bee, and I were in the area looking in on the well-being of a nearby cache when we saw this a few hundred metres down the road.

Wow - it seems like forever that I have been able to drive down (or up!) this road. Glad it's open at last.

We all piled out of the mighty Paj and made our way to GZ. We looked about for about 10 minutes before Net88 spotted the elusive beast.

A very clever hide that is done quite well, Mr Seirra1 Smile We eventually got the log and signed our lives away. We made sure to put it back carefully.

I have posted up my version of the co-ords that worked for me today. Though everyone else has found the cache with no problems - and truth be told - they are not that different. But mine are there - just in case Smile

TFTC seirra1 Smile

31-Aug-13
I would love to say this was a nice quick find...But I can't. I must have walked past it several times, before finally spotting a well camoed cache.

Co-ords had me spot on, but it must have been the worst case of cache blindness I've had in a while.

Log extracted and signed.

TFTC and a favourite from me.

It was great to revisit this area since the road was damaged so long ago. The views were hazy today but this is a nice vantage point. I went below the described parking spot and found a suitably safe place to stop.

Once I walked back up the top I found a little geotrail between the revegetation. The GPSr took a while to home in on the position and in the meantime I let a few cyclists go past. I soon spotted a familiar object and then realised that I had found it!

This is a superb geocache and a wonderful celebration of the reopening of a well loved road. A favourite point well earned, thanks sierra1!
