Brilliant - from the story in the description to the well thought out and executed cache, this was simply brilliant and well worth the pain in the calves and the burn in the chest from tackling the terrain Love it! 10 fav points from me

#5.575Let the roadtrip through New Zealand officially begin! This was our first along the way and we are very happy that this one marks the beginning. A stunning view around, a nice handy work and a first hike after a bit of driving. It's a fav from us.TFTC says team mastba from Hamburg/Germany
We arrived quite early and there was a layer of fog over the area with limited visibility so it was very eerie and atmospheric walking around the rocks.. There was hardly anyone around and we enjoyed having the area mostly to ourselves.
We weren’t sure what to expect with this one but had a few thoughts and were definitely not disappointed with our expectations being very much exceeded.
What an awesome and clever cache. We imagine muggles must come across it accidentally from time to time and wonder what they think they have found.
We signed the log and apologised for the interruption before departing and restoring privacy to the occupant.
A definite favourite point from us and a great start to our walk.

Think John might have been shifted - been advised the current co-ordinates are at S 43° 13.923' E 171° 43.017. When I get a chance to go check I will be looking at shifting it back to original co-ordinates of S 43° 13.926 E 171° 43.047.

On our way back through Arthur’s Pass today we called in at Castle Hill, with the aim of finding a couple more caches here. This one had been recommended to us and the number of faves meant we were really keen to find it. Unfortunately a search of up to 10m from the coords brought us no joy. Once back on the road, Mrs nzk read the previous finders log which mentioned the coords were 30m out for them, so we assume we just weren’t looking in the right place. Feeling gutted as we don’t know when we’ll be back in the area.
Awesome spot, good scramble. GPS had me a good 30m away, but spied what i was looking for. Out with PirateLinda on a trip across to the west coast.
Trouvée I often have the feeling that I look like I am going to the loo when bush geocaching. Love this !

Great spot for a cache like this, gave us a chuckle after the climb! Thanks for a cool spot to check out the rocks!
Wow,to je pecka, přeji ať dlouho vydrží protože tohle je skvost mezi keškama a důvod proč to miluji, taky bych si ulevila na takovém krásném místě,ale vzhledem k tomu že to není etické tak aspoň přidávám
Gotta hike to this one of the track a bit. Worth the hike fun cache!
Thanks for the hunt, Jessie and Alex

I really enjoyed my time here today. There were a lot of people walking around. But it wasn't too difficult to escape the crowds. A magic place. That was a lot of fun. TFTC

Visited again on a beautiful day. Dropped a TB who wants to travel the world. I hope someone takes Kereru overseas! Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache!
Due to the the COVID-19 pandemic it has been four years since we last made the long trip from California to New Zealand to visit our kiwi kin. In addition to enjoying our time together we are enjoying finding some geocaches, too.
Today we are visiting “The rocks” and doing some scrambling and caching. Thanks for the giggles.

Do I have to climb up there yes you do!!!
Ok its hot, my legs are a little sore from all the walking I have done over the last 10days, and I have a plane to catch!
So here I am looking here, then over there, hmm what is this? OMG funny, very funny, although I think he needs to see a Doctor, he might have a big problem
A fun find, can see why earning the fav points.
Thanks MacPacMum & sharkiefan for the hide, very creative, and also gives me a chance to look at the rock formations from a different angle

Great little chance to try out my new tramping boots! Had a bit of a fright at the end tho - I’m sure you know why!
What a brilliant cache. Much like the weather today, Lucypear nearly precipitated herself.
