A week of caching and golf with bogonghazy and Littleboss 2 in and around Mildura and of course any smileys we can pick up on the way.Thought this one would be up higher due to the monkey reference. BH called the magic words
Up to Mildura for a week with Littleboss2, Sorceysal and Geo the puppy. We'd solved a few puzzles between us, (Ss about 97% of them) and this was the week to grab as many as we could, as well as the multiple labs, multis and trads, and really enjoy this stunning area. After a wild night, we really felt the heat and humidity that happens post rain, but it's all a part of what Australia's diverse zones bring on board. Plenty of sharp bindis added to the fun. Is that what gaiters are for? Our thanks for placing this one, cute little dudes here
Caching in Mildura for the week with Bogonghazy, sorceysal and Geo dog. Nice quick find. Thanks for placing the geocache
We found your cache today 7 May 2024 12:47pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC TheVersteegs
Our journey to North Queensland will take us through many different towns.
Here's one to find today. Thank you for placing the cache TheVersteegs.

Found the hook, but sadly the cache was gone so performed a little community maintenance on this one.
Having finished the Paddlesteamer (and many other great caches) it was time for some of our crew to start the trek back home. Caching today with a smaller crew - Joolay, KittyKatch, Albida33 and GLISS! Continue to by impressed by the vast open scenery and beautiful waterways. Thanks for all the hard work from COs make and maintain these caches. Thanks for a great weekend everyone. Thanks for the cache.

Tankengine, Youban and I came to Mildura for the weekend for a bit of caching with a bunch of other Canberrans (signed caches we did together as - MMA. Which I think stood for Mildura May Adventurers. It’s so hard coming up with group names).
We had an awesome time and ate at some great places, met a whole bunch of lovely people and found some great caches. Thanks to all the COs for their placements and my caching friends for their help and great company.
This cache: Nope. We think we knew where it might be, but there was a creature with big eyes who made us walk away. Thanks anyway.

Quite overgrown. Looking at watermarks on trees wasn't sure whether cache was washed away from GZ?
It was a little bit of an effort to get to GZ and the GPSr device was a little all over the place. But finally I managed to spot the container. Nice hide. Thanks to TheVersteegs for the cache.
Found It!
Spotted the cache after a bit of searching around. Nice little place.

After a full day of celebrating international geocaching day, attending 4 events with the inbetweens finding a cache or two with Mattycat and Perfect DI, collecting info on some multis along the way, into the evening after dropping off our partners it was time for some evening torchlight finds, after working through the new lab cache in town we decided to check out a few of the local ones, much easier at this time of night all muggle free, quick find for us tonight

Wandered off with Purrfect Di [:X] , and met up with the Froghoppin duo [^] [^] and a whole bunch of other crazy cachers around the place too. Saw some sights, cached three states, and ate a whole lot of pub and cafe meals! Found far fewer mint tins than usual - gold star to Vic and NSW for that one!!!
Happy Geocaching Day weekend!
And we felt like monkeys pushing through the jungle late at night.
Much thanks to TheVersteegs for locating and maintaining this cache on our VIC geo-map

Wandering the countryside - searching, spotting strange items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Caution! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Truly fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Appreciate you reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.
Spending a few days in Mildura, joined by the rest of the Goldy clan for a family getaway.
We've been coming here since our first visit in 2008, it's a Goldy family favourite so I'm excited for the opportunity to find a few geocaches here and in some of the surrounding towns.
I'm also looking forward to experiencing some different hides in another state, as all my finds so far have been in South Australia.
I won't be able to get to all the caches due to having other plans with family, family always comes first.
So a high majority of caches on the "to be found" list are ones where I can learn local history and ones that are relatively quick and easy.
I've been primarily eyeing off the turtle series geoart and adventure labs.
Spent a few minutes searching around before I found where the cache was hidden.
Put my signature in the log book and returned the cache to its hiding spot.
Signed as "P.Goldy"
Thanks to TheVersteegs for this cache.

Thank goodness for a quick find and lots of places to hide here from muggles on houseboats. This one gets a favourite from me because it's a beautiful spot and I didn't have to climb any trees for the find. TFTC.
Couldn't find at night the first time, but during the daylight was pretty good. Good hide!
In Mildura for a day, hit the Mildura Brewery last night, parkrun this morning, followed by breaky, then out for a hike to find some cache. Blitz some of the puzzles in the week, wasn’t sure how many we would have time to find, especially with all the trads in the area too. Ended up jogging and hiking 28km today in total. TFTC.
A few hours of caching in the area to try and clean it up. Mixed results but found some. After a couple of DNFs, finished with a success. TFTC
Gz had me near, so I started looking, but then I saw this one, so a quick find was had. Tftc.

It's my first time in Mildura, being here with cachers who have been here a few times meant some caches were much easier than others too! Whilst we were finding the caches in the nearby geoart, we got a little distracted. Thanks for the cache TheVersteegs.

There were some nice houseboat along the river today. Found after a short search.
Thanks TheVersteegs for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.
