With Alansee travelling to Canberra to meet up with fellow cachers to complete some caches. Packed a lot of winter woolies! We’d been to Yass before and stopped off to get this one - me being a kiwi!
Thanks for the cache team.wallace

Just passing through Yass for the night and was just enjoying the first coffee for the day out on our motel porch and I decided to check the app.

With a heavy heart we are heading back to reality. Stopped off in Yass for the evening and a few caches after dinner.
Cache was found with Crzymelly, TeamPQS & JustWanderingAbout
After retiring to our accomodation for the evening, this cache was a short stroll away. We wandered over, there were some muggles nearby, but they soon disappeared into their accomodation. The find was made, cache signed and returned as found.

First time staying so close to a GC, we are usually lucky to park this distance from a cache. Have a fav point for being so close to our accommodation.
This was a pretty straightforward retrieve though the grassed area was a swamp after the deluge.
Cache all good.
Thanks team.wallace.

Wasn't to hard to find
But we found in a couple of minutes of getting to the location.

It was our first Geochacing and it was Not that hard to find

The GPSr led us straight to this one for a quick find.
We are ''stickers! When we get onto something we stick'' to it.
With a top temperature of 7 degrees today and the wind chill factor making it feel like 1 degree we rugged up and headed out to tackle a loop north of Yass which we came to call the 'Stick Trail'. It was tough going particularly early on and we considered giving it away until we got into the theme and then things got much better.
Nonetheless we still had a couple of DNFs and we walked away from higher Ts when we couldn't spot them from the ground.
We also cached the AHH letterbox series and collected a few in town on our way back.
In the end a satisfying day, much better than just sitting in the van.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache team.wallace.

After a morning out caching we came back to the van to work out how many different D/T we had found today. We were 10 shy of the 25 we needed for a challenge cache The Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge https://coord.info/GC54RAX. So a list was done and out we went again to complete this challenge. This was one of the cache we needed. Nice quick find. TFTC team.wallace
On a sunny Winter's morning took to the road seemingly less travelled to find a good number of Challenge and Wherigos mixed with the odd traditional here and there.
Things started well with several fast finds, but things quickly turned a tad nasty when a local nutbag pulled up beside me in his large manly white 4wd ute (rego details available on request) and accused me of taking photos of his property. While I had my iPhone in my hand, the closest I came to taking photos of his long grass and piles of dirt, from a PUBLIC ROAD, was that I was actually carrying the iPhone in my hand. After I pretty much ignored him completely, including his questions as to where I was from I did give him a quick explanation about what Geocaching was, as opposed to ones rights from said public road. 'Never heard of it' was his reply, to which I replied 'well you can follow me along the road for the next 2.5 hours and watch me do exactly the same'. A school mini bus then pulled up next to him where they commenced some sort of conversation to which I was not privy to.
As I was finishing off my draft log, including a few details of the conversation they both suddenly left, without even a pleasantry mind you, and the last I saw of either of them was his TWO MASSIVE BLACK AND WHITE SPOTTED GREAT DANES staring straight back at me as he disappeared off down the road.
With the departure of the crazy cropper I continued on my way without further issue. Up and over hill and dale through some wonderful back road scenery. Eventually rejoined the highway where I turned West for a few major road hides. On my return there was further interaction with a local, this time a member of the constabulary. A quick breathalyser test later and I was back on my merry way.
Pulling into Yass I successfully revisited a previous sneaky DNF and quickie a little further down the road. From there it was straight back to the big smoke just in time for school pickup.
A successful day overall, 1 deluded farmer, 1 pleasant law enforcement officer, 40 finds and 1 DNF.
Apologies for the generic log, anything of further interest added at the end of log. TNLNSL TFTC

Finalf29 and I decided to spend a few days getting off the main highway and grabbing a few of these backroad caches. Having a wonderful time with my bestest buddy.

This should have been a quick park n grab, which was made all the harder by my GPS going haywire. As a result, it took me much longer than it should have.
This was a crafty hide, made all the more embarrassing by the junior navigator's 'instructions' being bellowed at me from the car window. However, we conquered in the end.

An assorted selection of urban and out of town caches was on the program to be found, along with ilook4geo. It was a fun day and we enjoyed the caches found. Thanks go to team.wallace for placing this cache.
Another fun caching day with goingplaces2. Signed the log here replaced cache as found. TFTC.

Parked on the other side of the street. But a really quick park and grab. Nice little hide. TFTC
After I checked into the motel time for dinner. I had a rough idea of how many I needed to get the 120, but was not confident and so did a few extra just in case (thankfully I did). Headed to the pub and had dinner and then wandered around some caches in town with a torch and found all except one (D4) - so was happy with that.
This was the closest to the motel and I was a bit worried about the neighbours (think they are tourists though) so was relieved was a quick find in the first place I looked.

Now this is what I call a park and grab! Parked only metres away from GZ, walked over, peered down, and tadah! There it was! Very nice
Signed and replaced whilst trying to be stealthy, the house opposite is a little nerve wrecking!
Thanks !

Okay, so a dnf on a D1, it happens but today I brought reinforcements with two previous finders to ensure success and avenge my previous no find here!
Well, seems I wasn't crazy and the cache was missing last time, phew! The finders right after us are the first finders on the new log... it had been missing after all! Hard to find that!

A muggle was enjoying the sunshine outside his room but did not appear to be interested in what I was doing. A good hide and easy find.

Tankengine and I had two important caches to deal with today. TE had offered to help me replace a cache I dropped down a pipe on the way here and he had a mutli in Yass to do so he could clear the town out once and for all - well until the next cache is published here anyway.
This cache: We parked right near GZ to make the quick find and sign then replaced and onto the next one. Tftc team.wallace!!!

One of the shortest walks to a cache ever! We are staying at the Swaggers Inn right next door.
I got out my phone during breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to see a cache right next door.
An easy find, on a cold morning.

Found 11:03 am. My partner and I stayed in the swaggers motel right next to this cache and as we were now departing Yass I had to grab this find. We had been out to visit family for 50th party in Yass and as usual I wanted to find a cache or two. I had found a number of caches from Yass to Sydney back 2018 but had lost my log entries when my phone was busted (about 150) I’ve been slowly identifying some of these. This cache is relatively new so isn’t one of them. Found the cache after a quick look. Signed the log and then we were on our way. We enjoyed our stay at swaggers motel being quite comfortable and great condition although the spa may have helped the opinion.
Thanks for the cache.

Found with Smittengranny and Gliss! venturing up this way to pick up caches in the area. Beautiful day to be out and about and probably the last good weather for awhile. TFTC

Day 2 in Yass region today, doing some shopping and some caching, even managed to squeeze in a good samaritan by taking a local home to Bowning, it would have been a long walk. Mainly caching around town today, taking it nice and easy. Sweet as Bro, smiley achieved

Today I decided to stay away from PTs so I drove out to Yass to see how many smilies I could add to my tally. I had a fabulous day with no DNFs though at times I came close to walking away from the more difficult finds.
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us all to find. My name has been added to all the logs, though mostly as SG. TNLN.
Thank goodness this is not a 1.5/1.5 they are so common!

I can remember a time when I had found just about all caches that were in the area but now they are everywhere so there are now heaps of green squares that need to turned into smiley faces. Well two this trip hope to find another couple next trip.
Thanks again team.wallace for placing and looking after them like changing the log on this guy.
