Just over 2 years unloved on a cache where we are responsible for its existence. In 2013 we came through here just after starting this game. We discussed the concept with the manager who thought it sounded good and that they might hide one. And not too ling after that they did!
And 10 years later here we are again and here it is
Brad and Janet are on another epic journey.
This time it involves many of Len Beadell’s 6500km of roads including the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sue, the Heather, the Neale, the Gun Barrel Highway, the Gary, the Talawana Track, the Gary Junction Rd and more.
And of course a 2 day visit to Maralinga which Len also located, surveyed and largely built as he had with Woomera and Emu. An amazing man.
If you don’t know of him he wrote some wonderful books. Laconic with a dry sense of wit, they are an excellent read. They are also available as audiobooks as is a recording of his brilliant after dinner talk one evening in Shepparton. Worth a listen.

No joy locating the cache here. We were on a time limit with fuel availability and mail plane arriving. Road in from Tjuntjunjara was pleasant compared to Anne Beadell Hway heading west - horrendous corregations. Connie Sue Hway north of Neale Junction pretty well overgrown with vegetation and zero track maintenance.
A double disappointment here today , Cache could not be located.. And I discovered that my vehicle had a broken rear spring..
So camp was set up, and the drama began,
Next morning the others headed towards Coober Pedy, while I may some make shift repairs, that took couple days and headed to Laverton, and finally Kalgoorlie .
(the campground facilities where top shelf . a loo, a donkey operated hot shower. and a fee Telstra phone box plus some very helpful staff at the roadhouse,)
Thanks markndee

Found with FeatherWaite on a trip across the Anne Beadell Highway from Coober Pedy.
Fantastic country around here. And the road condition is like a highway compared to the SA side of the border.
Thanks markndee for the cache.

Early morning search. Very nice to make a find on a rarely visited cache, with just 12 previous finds in almost 8 years and none for the last almost 2 years. Thanks for the cache markndee!
Easy find under the watchful eye of the relief caretaker who had been there previously and knew all about the cache! A welcome stop and a bit of lunch in the very tidy camping area! TFTC markndee
Found with Gogo Go. New shop manager has now been enlightened about geocaching. TFTC
Found on very cold wet day . Filled up wit fuel ... $300 dollar later!
Thanks
Thanks
Another long time between finds, but i can confirm all is well. The manager, Phil, has been here for 18 months and knew nothing about the cache, or the activity in general. He is now a custodian for its safe keeping.
Having had a ball driving the Len Beadell roads, now that I am back in Alice comes the challenge of logging all the caches as I really can't stand trying to do it on my phone. This was a beauty. As there were plenty of mugglers over in the camp area decided to sneak across and look for this one whilst the shop was closed. (It was a Sunday.) I am glad I did as Robyn opened up later in the afternoon and there were mugglers everywhere. TFTC markndee SL
Found while continuing along the Anne Beadell in a easterly direction. We were most grateful to the owner of the service station who waited around for several hours for us to arrive while her husband was waiting on the side of the road to be picked up having left hospital after a car accident. A lovely hostess, and a fantastic facility, with a cache the added bonus! Without this fuel we would have been delayed. Thanks markndee for placing the cache.
Great to see someone has found this cache
It was set up after we passed through a few months ago and chatted to Robyn and Graham at the Ilkurlka Roadhouse about geocaching. Nice people and a great stop! We were about to go to look for the cache a bit further down the road at the plane wreck - the burnt remains of which we found

First to find, amazing little spot on to find on the Anne Beadell Highway. Stopped in here for lunch and a chat with the managers, lovely people. They were so happy to know that some one had found the cache finally. It was nice to actually see another person after a few lonely days on the highway. Tftc MarknDee.
