Another cache gone. I guess this is to be expected with the unpredictability with Christchurch's building and demolition schedule. I have had reports of a whole pile of rubbish in the area which is possibly unsafe to be putting your hands. Thanks for those who found this and sorry to those who didnt. Kind regards. sharkiefan

I spent some time here looking for the cache although my GPSr didn't get nearer than 7m. I checked every place I'd put one and came up empty handed. There was a lot of rubbish in the area. As it hasn't been found since Feb it may still be there but it would be nice if a finder dropped by and verified that this is in fact still in place.

Nice to get on the bike after a week of walking around crooked with a bad back. After we logged this, we stood and watched the workingman shove around some massive chunks of concrete with his massive piece of machinery.

Wee loop home to collect a few caches, that's what you do when you have a spare hour Big Grin
After visiting a nearby cache I had to zig and zag via a variety of detours due to poo pipe repairs or road repairs. I have played a few games of pool at these clubs in the past. Only half left. I wonder if that's it or there'll be more demo. A quick find and photo. I used to live up the road on Alexandra Street. My high school years were spent in and out of this neighbourhood. I remember walking across the Barbadoes cemetery in the early hours of quite a few mornings come home from town. Those misty nights were the 'best'.
Number 8 of 11.
Thanks for the cache.

No TB. TFTC

The rain has stopped, so we are off caching. Spotted from the back, otherwise no idea where to look. Thanks for the hide.

Being shown around some of the devastation today and we passed this facility. It does not seem long ago I was attending a function here, certainly can't now!
The scale of the devestation is depressing and to see sites that I can't remember what was there is frustrating, I hope someone has recorded this.
I asked if the vehicle could stop for a minute and made a walk to where the needle was pointing in the rain and voila! all was revealed.
Thanks

It is always amusing to hear what muggles think you are doing and finding this cache adds to the experience. There I was GPSr in hand but it didn't want to cooperate, so out comes I-phone to get a second opinion. Was standing by GZ where there are two black letterboxes. All of a sudden, bolts clank back and the local muggle resident appears quickly to get to his letterbox and quickly sizes me up! A couple of gidday's were exchanged but you can see his interest is high. He looks at the GPSr, sees the arrow etc and says "So, you reading my electricity?" So, I can add that to a ground hydrometer, a laser measuring gadget and a few other things. Oh yes.....once muggle had gone, I very quietly found the box, signed in truck and very quietly returned. Do, you think I should send him a power bill? Dot day knocked off.

11-Sep-13
I was dressed in my Canterbury working class clobber so I looked pretty good as a water care worker tending a water meter when muggles passed. Big Grin TFTC

5396. Went out early this morning to find a cache to continue our streak. Had a busy morning ahead so got this out of the way first! Didn't use a GPS, map or description - just the cache name and hint. A very quick find. Now off to an appointment. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.

Out and about at night and passing directly by. Rude not to stop. Took longer than it should have (without torch as a few people wandering around) - found quickly when I flicked the torch on. Weird drunk people yelling louding and exuberantly in the nearby playground. Onwards.

I know the area well as I spent some time here with the crews digging up the nearby road. I had seen the caches were published and drove over straight away. Arrived to find the 2wombles scratching their head as to where the cache might be. But soon it was in hand. Cheers sharkiefan!

One of 3 new caches published near to my house this morning, so decided to get up as I was bound to get at least one FTF

Got to GZ after finding two previous caches. Hmmm, deserted...surely someone must have found the cache already? GPS was pointing to inside a fenced off area...hmmm...hint....was on the wrong track at first for this one, but just as L4TB arrived, I spotted the hide. And greeted with a blank logbook.

My 3rd of 3 FTF's this morning

I tried to log the cache found as a courtesy to other FTF'ers who may be racing here, but log didn't go through. Finally managed to log 2 hours later.

Thanks for the cache
