I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. Second time lucky, but even then had to search for a while. Took a bit of feeling around to get there. TFTC
Find #: 2,567
Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Grey autumn morning
Cache condition: Good
I ran the new parkrun at Whalan Reserve and then decided to find some nearby caches to add to the experience. I parked on the other side of the railway line (next to the cache there) and then walked across, which turned out to be longer than expected if still better than driving around. Once at GZ I made a quick find - TNLNSL TFTC

Looked for a bit but seeing as the past five people before us didn’t find it we weren’t really confident it was there
Had to be in Rooty Hill for a emergency meeting and left straight after work to be there very eartly. Ended up so early that some time for caching was left. Randomly picked a direction and started picking up caches. Ended up doing six which I tought was not a bad effort for an unknown area. This one was found quick and easy as well.

Went bike riding with a friend and checked to see if any caches were around. Quick and easy find.

No luck today. Spoke with a previous finder... not sure if it's moved or not here anymore
What is about this series that I struggle with so much? I think you have most of my DNFs Blundo! I found said hint in the logs and still couldn’t figure it out. Next time I’m back in the area I’ll give it another go. For now, it’s starting to rain!

Found it but not sure it was in the intended hide spot (although it did meet hint criteria). Needed this one to keep run going after a DNF in the morning. Took panorama and managed to time well enough to get train in shot. TFTC
Out with Trodectus. We walked to GZ and started searching. After some fruitless minutes, started reading some previous logs. We changed tactics and soon spotted the hide. TFTC.

#3652 (7 of 7 today)
The Geowife has other plans - that don't require me - and I finally have a day on which I have no other responsibilities.
So decided to head west to pick up some new caches - and maybe avenge the odd DNF.
Even better, managed to snaffle a First2Find - but needed a 25km round trip to snag it from where I was being muggled out.
In the end bagged seven. I'll take that.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
My second previously DNFed
cache, but unlike the other this one had always been here,
Parked and walked to GZ. Like last time, no sign of...
Oh. Embarrassing I missed it the last time if it was in the same spot. Embarrassing I didn't spot it immediately this time.
Grabbed and completed signing duties, then replaced.
DNF expunged. time for home.

Out for the morning for a couple of puzzles and some we had missed on past runs. Quick find TFTC
I had been here twice previously for no success. This time after another reading of previous logs I saw it as I drove up to its location.

Found it! Was about to give up as well, one previous comment in particular helped, nice hide.
Found it while for my car to be cleaned at Westfield,
Nice little walk for the arvo
Nice little walk for the arvo
Visiting family and I decided to go for an afternoon walk. I saw this one was on a couple of K's away so headed off and enjoyed some old memories on the way. As I walked over the footbridge I remembered the old station many years ago and the shops haven't changed that much, just a bit of a culture change to a few of them.
I continued my walk and it wasn't long and I was approaching GZ. As I was using a phone I didn't know how accurate it would be but GZ was only .5 of a metre out for me and the cache was an easy find.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

Too hard for me today. I returned home and read previous logs but believe I searched a lot of those places mentioned. I'll keep watch.
So with the streak at 366 days it isn't over yet - it's not going on forever though.
As I left the house I checked the post. In the mailbox were my three new Geocoins - *3000 Finds*, *365 Days* and *48 Caches in 24 Hours*.
So they came with me on today's finds. Got 3 but a DNF snuck in there as well.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
And here was the DNF.
Parked near an entry spot and walked to GZ. There is work going on near here and there are barricades up - luckily I could walk around them to my target.
Checked quite a few logical spots - and probably a few non-logical ones, but after 15 minutes and spreading my search out a bit I had nothing.
Knowing the CO's hides it's probably there, but it beat me today.

IT could have been a quick find but for workers mowing the lawn! Waited for a while then got the opportunity. Blank cache in good condition. SL TFTC
Removed old cache container which wasn't in original position. The new one was yet to be found/signed.
Still definitely needs a cover as the paper looks all waterlogged. Could not take it out or sign. TFTC though. Even spotted a train
Found this one this afternoon and have to agree with previous logs...it definitely needs a lid. The log looked a bit mushy and I didn't want to pull it out. I would not have been able to sign it and I would not have been able to put it back in.
15/09/15. 10:54. Cache #2994. Streak day #450.
1st of 6 finds from Minchinbury up to Riverstone today.
After "Paint, Tools and BBQ's", I came here. Last time I cached through Mt Druitt, back in July I was muggled out at this one, but today I had the area to myself. I tried several typical BB areas and came up empty handed. Walked away, read a few logs, came back. Expanded my search, still empty handed.
I started walking away and read a few more logs. Hmm, perhaps I could try there...went back and made the find! Log was tatty but signable. I went to replace it and realised that I had dropped the lid. I searched everywhere for it but couldn't find it, so had to put it back without a lid (sorry!). Off to Hebersham next to look for "The Grass is Greener.........NSW". TFTC.

Tried to look for my first ever cache, no luck. Probably didn't help that I started late in the afternoon so it got dark quickly.

#326 - Garmin eTrex 30
This was the only find for today. It appears many people have a love/hate relationship with train spotter caches. Either you find them straight away or it takes ages to find a supposedly easy cache. I parked near the open grass area near GZ and walked, thanking whoever is responsible for keeping the grass mown. The Garmin had me right at GZ and I started to look. I moved some things around and checked a few likely places but nothing was showing up. I checked through some past logs and one comment stood out. I then decided to walk a little back from the fence line and then realised where the cache could be hidden. SL. TFTC.

We walked between the houses and across the grass to the cache location, and had a fairly good idea where to look, since we had found another Train Spotter that does something similar. Found, signed and all good. Thanks to BB from bb
#2924- Out on a bit of a caching expedition in this area with bikerbuddy today. Once we found our way in, I spotted it quickly and bikerbuddy retrieved it. Thanks.
After some perseverance (and some help from previous logs), this cache was finally in my hand and I can breathe a sigh of relief that the streak lives on.
A few trains went past but that didn't deter this determined cookie.
It was good to grab a cache for the day before the rain came. Headed over to the local McDonalds straight after to wait for the rain to start and pass.
Thank you Blundo Busters.

A clever hide indeed it took a few minutes to locate but I soon had CIH, cache is in good condition but log is damp, TFTC

Been meaning to do this cache for some time now as it was the closes unfounded to home. As I approached GZ, I could see where I meant to look and had the CIH the third place I looked. TFTCM

I don't know why I couldn't find this one before. Yet the area doesn't look familiar to me. Maybe I missed it the other times.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Was looking again but spotted a railcorp car coming towards the work area.
Will have to try another time

Haven't had much luck with train spotter series. Wasn't sure if I was just looking in the wrong place as gps on phone kept pointing me to an area which was fenced off and the original fence and surroundings have been ripped out.
Finding the cache was step one, trying to open it then get the log out was a harder step. There is a " tool " near by to help onen it.TFTC
We found this pretty tricky. But very clever. It was pretty muddy today so we drove right up to it and still got our feet covered in mud.
