Cool little hide! I've driven past this one a couple of times and thought it was finally time to find it. I'm glad I did
Well not sure we want to come across any trucks crossing on this narrow and twisty road, although we did meet another campervan- fortunately we saw it coming and waited in a wider spot.
We left a pet rock - a wombat
Thanks for putting this cache in a great place with plenty of parking

Nice hiding spot for a cache and a favorite point from us for the efforts extra efforts here with the container
Heading down the hill and wanted to pull over for a drink of water, this pull-in beckoned. After a short search the cache was found and another FP for this cache is well deserved.
Day 2 and a trip up to the top was what we had planned. We covered plenty of kms, some 'interesting' driving along unsealed roads, high towering ups and seaside downs - nice. Just a dozen caches but all were good and enjoyed.
Our last visit to the Coromandel was over 12 years ago so it was good to be back in the area after all of that time. We had spent Christmas away in Northland, and a quiet New Year at home before a 4 day/3 night stay in Coromandel town. We explored up the West of the peninsula up to Fletchers Camp, through the middle and across to the East coast of Whitianga and Whangamata, before heading back home 'via' Waihi Beach, where sadly that lady was killed by a shark whilst swimming, RIP. We found all available TMGT options, a few Earthcaches and saw some great sites and sights. Thanks to all COs for their caches here. We didn't do nearly as many as the Seagnoid and TB dragon whose steps we followed in on some days.

Out exploring Coromandel during the holiday season.Love the camo. A fav from me. TFTC.
Heading back from Fletchers Bay stopped of here to check out the trucks. This one had us searching for a while. But finally TS found a sneeky tunnel with a fun cache inside. Left our calling card here. Cheers. Fav from me.
Day 3 - Fantail Bay - Fletchers Bay - Coromandel Walkway to lookout - and back to Paritu Bay.
Another great day but very hot up this way.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

After the hikoi out to the lookout, the dragon and I are making our way slowly back to our hosts. Stopped off herer along the way. Nice to see the hide is in theme, and for that a favourite. Also nice that the CO organised some shade to sit under while signing the log. Thanks! Dropped in a path tag too.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs, 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk and lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Coromandel weekend Day 1. Found it on the way to Fletcher Bay. Last cache for today. Almost there! I like your containers. Much appreciated. TFTC
Find number 5928. I had always wanted to venture to the top of Coromandel on a caching trip. So when Boges offered to be my driver a plan was hatched. We spent the night along the coast and then cached our way up the west side to Fletcher Bay. I then walked the track thru to Stoney Bay while he drove around to meet me. A few more caches as we made our way back to our accommodation. I was able to clear most of the caches and ended the day with 37 finds out of 39 (2 DNF). I signed it the 7th but was actually found on the 8th. (Too early out of bed this morning).
I took the long way to this cache but I got there in the end. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement.

[#1252 | 11:30] What a beautiful piece of earth! So glad we decided to explore Coromandel all the way up to the Fletchers bay. Thanks & greetings from the Czechs!
A bit of drizzle so concentrating on the park and grab. This cache container for this one was rather appropriate. TFTC
good stopping place. not found at gz but widened the search area and cool cache revealed. tftc
Wow I wasn't expecting that. Waded through the long grass and found a cool cache hiding away here. TFTC
Tftc ! Follow more the hint than the gps ! For me it’s a big container not small
A group of us were heading up to Port Jackson for a bit of a gathering so in the company of Alpenmilch80, HKCB & 11HPG11 this was our first stop on the trip north with an aim at some truly memorable caches and lots of laughs. All Logs signed as "HOAC" to save on space
I ended the weekend with a total of 50 caches, a FTF, and approx 10 years of lonely caches (predominantly all located above Coromandel township). A 600km round trip and back home in 42 hours, so not a bad little haul, of course remembering that the first casualty of a well laid plan is "The Plan". We also located a great number of caches that had supposedly been DNF'ed over the last several visits, so that is always a bonus and a great thing to be able to let the various CO's know.
As we were foiled at the nearby ford we had to walk in from down near to Jacksons Bay, up and along the road for an added 7km's to the journey in before even getting to the Muriwai Track which we had planned on walking. It was nice to get to this spot and to know that we were now much closer to Fletcher Bay than we were 40 minutes previousley. THe rewards of the stunning views out were enough reward but the cache was the added bonus.
Thanks for brining us to this spot for without the cache we may have just passed on by.

Joined in on the fun with 11HPG11 and Cats&Dragons on a overnighter at Port Jackson. Kiwis69 also joined the crew on the Saturday to find a few caches. The whole weekend was a blast, and a lot of fun was had. The logs were all signed as "HOAC" to save space on the logbook.
Over the two days we ended up have a whirlwind tour of the upper half of the Coromandel, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. A big thanks to all the CO's for being our tour guide/s over the weekend. A truly unforgettable trip.
Joined by Alpenmilch80, 11HPG11 and Cats and Dragons on a walk over the Coromandel Walkway. With all the rain we had overnight we were forced to park the car at the fiord a few kms from Fletcher Bay. This just added to the adventure, a bonus was we managed to locate all the caches along here as a few had had some DNF's of late. Thanks for the great walk.

After a fun evening followed by a very wet night at Port Jackson the group assembled slowly for some breakfast in the morning. We all geared up to drive out to Fletcher Bay for a morning tramp. We were stopped at the first flooded river with our plans. We tried multiple other ways losing some of our members in the process. A smaller group including 11hpg11, HKCB, Cats&Dragons decided to leave the car at the river and cross it by foot walking the additional km to Fletcher Bay. Loved the great views along the walk. TFTC
A few of us were heading to Port Jackson for a spot of 'summer' camping. So an early morning start meant we could collect some caches on the way up. Our group today consisted of HKCB, Cats&Dragons, Alpenmilch80 and myself and logs were signed with Team Snappy or HOAC
All up we had a whirlwind tour of the Coromandel and saw some amazing sights. Plus a few boxes here and there of course. It was interesting to see how the storm and king tides had changed certain spots and we were treated to some spectacular thunder storms rolling in from Great Barrier. The camping was an experience, wet, full of laughs, and a great time. Thanks to the cache owners for showing us round the Coromandel and giving us a reason to get out and about.
No trucks today, only fabulous views. Soon had the cache in hand and it was back to plodding along that long never ending gravel road

We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cached overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
A good find here, and great views.. TFTC.

Team BOP were heading to the Coromandel west coast to knock off as many caches as we can.
I was really excited to get to the northern coast, as I have never been here, yet knew how beautiful it was.
It was great to find a cache out of the norm and worthy of a fav point.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Looked around under all the rollables ... but most of them had fallenl apart. Maybe next time I will find it.
Te Ides of March!
Turned over lots of things, but finally found Coromandel Gold.
Thanks Paritu Pirate. One day we will meet you and your buddy No Fixed Aboder.
Cheers.

A very cool one, ideal for kids as not along cliffs. Be aware there is a ford on the road to come. Beautiful spot, TFTC

Thankfully, there were no trucks heading in the opposite direction, wouldn’t have known it was an old quarry site had it not been for the cache, many thanks.
We too initially looked a little low, but soon found the garage, which has been a bit crushed in a small landslip. We still managed to extricate the cache, then returned to our car, where the tyre we noticed was looking a bit flat when we stopped was now completely flat. We were kindly assisted by a man who was working on repairing the road nearby, and interestingly told us how he had found the letterbox cache on the 309 road, and taken it away, but once he discovered what it was, he took it back again. TFTC
Took us awhile to find this one, as we left Fletcher Bay. We were looking too low, before eventually finding this one parked in its garage. Another nicely themed cache container. Swapped the cat trackable that was there for another.
Found this one having a few days away from Whangamata and staying at Coromandel
nice and sunny here today. We were lucky and did not have to roll to many to find it TFTC

We found this cache during our wonderful journey through New Zealand. Thank you for the cache and the great time in your country! Greetings from Germany.
Found, took a little while and a few roll me over and roll me back, till We found it, awesome container and hide, left as found
Had us going for a while as gps jumping around. Cool hide in a remote spot. Plenty of neat swaps so kids were well pleased.
187 km round trip to get this one and what a trip very high winds were making the water look great tftc
A poxy plague on you Paritu Pirate. Every time we go up to Coromandel and clean up the caches you plant another one after we have gone, but thanks for another reason to go fishing.
A scenic drive to the top of the Coromandel Peninsula keeping a watchful eye out for the trucks crossing. After enjoying the panoramic view from the cache location it was time to hunt out the cache. Excellent themed cache which earned a faourite. A FTF for me. Thanks for the placement
