Fun to find took about 20 min to get too

All good here. One of the highlights of my day came once I got back to my car and got on the road. I'd not even gotten to the dam yet when three young guys with their fishing rods were walking in the opposite direction. As I drove past with my windows down, the youngest one, in his high-pitched young-boys' voice, shouted, "GIVE US A LIFT?!" I stopped my car, reversed back up the road to them, and asked them where they were going. They wanted to go back to the foreshore, where I'd just been, so I cleared out the back seat (I had arrived today via Spotlight where yarn was on sale ). The put their fishing rods in the front, leaning through to the back, and jumped into the car. They commented to each other that they would never have wanted to walk so far! I dropped them back at the carpark where I had just been parked for the day, and they headed of to enjoy an afternoon of fishing. Thanks for the cache, Toy Hunters! * * * * *I had a lovely day walking this trail near Googong Dam and completing the Queen series. It was a lovely four-hour walk gathering these and all of the others in the area. I only had one DNF for the day; all other geocaches in the series were in good condition. Then I headed back towards Jerrabomberra to finished off a multi cache that I ran out of time to collect yesterday. I headed home as the sun set, by the light of the waxing gibbous moon.

Sorry about all these generic logs, I left it almost a full week to log these caches, and now they have mostly blended in with each other, and it's become hard to mention anything distinguishable that is of significance. We had a great time finding all these caches, and we were able to complete the walk relatively quickly too (all things considered). Thanks for bringing us out here!

25-Apr-22
The last one of the morning (after 12pm by now) and it was a great series.

I have made a few points on a couple of the caches where they were made more difficult by overgrown shrubbery.

I will say I enjoyed the first half more, even though the larger hills were a tougher walk, there wasn't nearly as much scrambling up the sides as there was in the second half along the waterfront, which I found hard on my knees and ankles. Although I do recognise it was trickier to place them anywhere but a little up the sides.

Overall a really enjoyable walk around, took us 4 hours instead of 2, I do know that I am a little bit slower, and we did stop for a morning tea of cheese and wine half way through.

I loved the theme, Queen being my absolute favourite band since about 1979 when I got 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' on single. I saw Quuen + Adam Lambert just before the Pandemic struck, and I am not ashamed to say I sobbed. I am devastated that I never got a chance to see Freddie live, but boy Adam was brilliant.

All in all a very enjoyable morning, a little challenging at times, which actually was great if not tiring.

Thankyou so much Toy Hunters for a wonderfully maintained series, I can't believe it is almost 10 years old and still complete like that! Thanks again for a wonderful morning.

To prevent the cache from being flooded again in future and to distance this cache from the long, overgrown grass, I've moved GZ slightly. The hint will be updated.

I've also replaced the container and transferred the contents from the old cache. This will hopefully further protect the cache against flooding.

In saying this, the whole area all around the Queen PT in general seems to be overgrown due to recent rain; so be wary of snakes in summer months. Nonetheless, cache on!

I know I was only in Canberra earlier in the week for caching but this time is for another reason… a geo-event! Big Grin (GA19402 & GC8T8JZ) This means that for a couple of us, it turned into two events as I hosted a GCA event about lunch time. My event was nice and small with only a few attendees but still great. Afterwards, I went with some others to find some other nearby caches. Next, it was time to check into my motel and have a rest. I then heard that there was a group of Cachers heading out to find a new WIG cache in Woden before the next event starts. A great walk around the parks and a unique hide. I am now sworn to secrecy…! Then it was time for the second event of the day. It was great fun catching up with many people and talking all things Geo! After a great sleep, I decided that before I headed home, I would attempt the ‘Queen’s greatest hits’ cache trail. It was a nice drive to Googong Dam but before I parked I found a solved puzzle cache. After finding a parking spot, I went for the 2-2.5 hour walk find the Queen caches and a few other ones along the way. It was a great walk with many great views of the lake and Googong. Then it was time to head home but I decided on taking a detour via Young to find the new cache there. A FTF on this one. Big Grin A great couple days away and I hope to get to a couple of the events in ACT during December. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I have found and for allowing them to bring me and others enjoyments. Big Grin TFTE’s & TFTC’s Big Grin

A mild morning made the perfect opportunity to walk this power trail. The western foreshores walk is a bit boring for mine, with glimpses of Googong township mixed with low hills. The return track along the dam is much prettier, although quite overgrown in parts after the recent rain. This was a very well curated and maintained sequence of caches to find - all in very good condition with tailored logs for each cache. Thanks, Toy Hunters!

This cache was a straightforward find at GZ. Although the container was full of water, the log itself was dry and snug in its bag.

After eating my lunch in my car, I set off and decided to travel this track in a clock wise direction, which meant that I did the caches largest number to smallest. I was so glad I did as it meant that I walked the ridge in sunlight late in the afternoon and ended the walk with a downhill to #1.

Thanks for all the initial hard word work and congratulations on the maintenance - it was lovely to sign some new logs. I was bitterly disappointed that I couldn't do the tour at ClearWaters but my volunteering duties prohibited it. It would have been a lot more fun I am sure.

I will repeat this note at number 1 and only very, very brief notes at each of the others if I can remember anything to say.

The contents inside the cache were soaked, so I've replaced the container and contents and have also altered the size of the rocks covering the hide. Many thanks to Silvereyes for the makeship log - very much appreciated and apologies for finding such a soaked cache. Happy caching!

Log absolutely unusable, sopping wet and mouldy. Thought it would fall to pieces if I tried to unfold it so I put a fresh slip of paper into a tiny plastic bag and we signed that. First cache of the day!

Silvereyes and I did the series starting at no 20 today. This one a nice little climb up the hill. Log was far too wet to sign so Silvereyes used a new log she had. Thank you Toy Hunters for taking us on this journey. Lovely winters day.

What a glorious day for a winter stroll around Googong Dam with the oldest two geokids (5 and 7) while the wife and youngest have coffee back in town. It may have only been 11 degrees but we still got a sweat up at times and the youngest was looking for a ‘bus’ to come pick her up by the end Smile

No DNFs the whole way was great - thanks for great coords and recent maintenance on a few. Sorry for a somewhat generic log on these.

This was another quick find. FP awarded to this one to say thanks for the effort on the series and for taking us on a lovely walk in a pretty spot with my girls. Genuinely appreciated by all of us. TNLN TFTC

So very much enjoyed this tour and very glad that Jo from chooknchunk talked me into it! Did the tour with her and TG4theWin (as well as many others!) Toyhunters did an amazing job of leading us through the tour - his love of Queen made the walk! TFTC!

*Bohemian Rhapsody*, one of the greatest songs of all time. In the Netherlands around Christmas people vote for the Top 2000 of songs. Ever since this Top 2000 started about 20 years this song has been the unchallenged #1 song.
For the occasion, four of our team members posed in true Queen style.

Many thanks to toy hunters for this Power Trail and to Scott for being our host for today.
Definitely a favourite point!

I am really enjoying reading the paragraph of the history of each song on this Queen Tour. Thanks for taking the time to write individually about each song and adding it to the story of Queen.
Out enjoying a most wonderful autumn day and taking the walk with the CO of these Queen caches - toy hunters, and our great little group tour. Caches were found with no problem while we enjoyed listening to the various Queen songs on our way to each geocache. Many thanks toy hunters for taking the time out of your own geocaching time while we are all here for the big MEGA event. We had a wonderful time and appreciate your efforts in placing and maintaining these geocaches.
Cheers and happy caching!

Day 2 of our Clear Waters event and Queanbeyan/ACT adventures started off with a delightfully sunny and fresh morning which allowed us to find plenty of well placed caches. We spent the morning in Googong before heading back into Queanbeyan to explore the city centre.

The Queen PT had been one of our goals for this trip and we were rewarded with a most pleasant walk beside the dam. Team MavEtJu and I were joined by a lovely group of cachers who ended up signing as MEEL KB. Hope the date stamp helped all that followed that day. I finally got a bit more singing participation from my fellow cachers with some classic call and response “gallelio” action. In just over 2 hours we completed the series and it was both fun to sing along to the caches name sakes, and to have the pleasant surprise of the gorgeous landscapes. So nice when you have no expectations and then you’re rewarded with these views. I’m sure I had a much better work out then I would have at parkrun.

Thanks toy hunters for placing and maintaining this cache. A fave point for the series.

This morning I was fortunate to be invited along on a caching quest by the Ziggsta and Mavman. I wasn't the only stray they picked up with ozmilo joining too. Haha. Deciding to use real first names instead of geocaching ones, we came up with the team name of MEEL. We also met up with others on the Queen trail and logged the caches as MEELBK.

I had a great time walking around a number of traditional, multi and mystery caches in the dam area and getting to know our new friend MiloMike. Having sent a little lonely (definitely not alone though) the last 5 days, it was great to hang out with old friends and let my hair down a bit, singing along to Queen songs and chatting up a storm with the Ziggsta. Haha

Perfect weather. Best company. Beautiful location. Great caches.

Thanks for placing this series of caches. I enjoyed the walk, the songs and the fun facts. Fave point added here for the series.

Visiting Canberra for the Mega Event and having a wonderful time touring the city with my host and sister Tealby, finding many caches in the process.
This Queen series was done in the company of a group other caches as one of the tours provided by the Mega, and very kindly led by the cache's CO, playing Queen music as we walked along.
Many thanks for a great day out, the guidance and all the caches, toy hunters and am giving this one a FP but it is really for the whole series as I don't have enough points to give one to each.

Headed down to Googong Dam to do the Queen trail and surrounding caches with some new caching friends Ziggiau, NoTomorrow and Mavetju. As we started the trail, we joined forces with Bulldozer72 and Kaos. To save room in the logbooks, we logged as MEEL KB.

The vast majority of caches were found quickly - one or two needed a bit more time. Thoroughly enjoyed caches and the beautiful scenery.

Thanks for the cache.

Finalf29 and I spent the day in the Googong and what an enjoyable day it was. We paddled, walked (with a bit of huffing and puffing), met a lovely geocaching family Team737 and cached most of the Queen series with them... by the end of the day we were knackered, but still had a brilliant time doing it. Thanks to all the cache owners and thanks to Finalf29 and Team737 for wonderful company.

When planning a family activity for a day at the mega, I noted this little trail, and being a big Queen fan for many years, coincidentally starting when I lived in Canberra for two years in the early 90's, this was a great choice. So the four of us watered and booted up for the 6km hike and hit the (well worn!) trail. With our 6 year old we managed to complete the circuit in under 3 hours, with no DNFs. We met HappyUke and Finalf29 along the way and walked together for most of the trek - a great afternoon - thanks!
And the classic..... what a great note to finish on! Another FP here....

Attending the Queanbeyan Clear Waters mega event, this was a day packed with hikes and power trails. Our team "LUCKY9" started off the day walking around Googong Dam targeting the Queen geocache trail, before then heading south through Royalla and visiting Michelago, and then heading north via Burra. A massive day caching indeed in great weather.

This geocache didn't take long to find, and the cache and contents were in good shape. Thanks toy hunters.

Found as part of Queen Tour #1 - a morning full of great fun, friends, music and caches.
Oh no - its the end already! This tour has been so much fun.
However we finished with a fitting grand finale, accompanied by this classic Queen masterpiece rocking the valley. Four of the group re-created the classic Rhapsody pose (attached pic as taken by our Tour Guide / CO). Then the whole group released their inner Bohemian (or should that be Bogan) as we all headbanged to the heavy rock section "Waynes World style".
Thank you so much to toy hunters for the tour, the caches and the fun. It was one of the highlights of the Mega. A favourite point from us.

A leisurely start today as I decided to wander out to Googong Foreshore as it looked a very interesting and scenic place to find a few caches while enjoying the solitude. As I was feeling tired it was nice to have caches that didn’t strain my powers of observation although I can’t say the same for the terrain which on several caches tested my ability. All over a great 'royal' series and I found all 20. Thanks for a fun walk in a great location toy hunters
