Spent the night in Toowoomba and had a cracking time at the food and wine festival enjoying the hoodoo gurus and other bands. I had a couple of ours in the morning after a scrumptious breakfast near by to pick up a few caches and work towards a challenge cache I have my eyes on back in Brisbane.

Arrived and parked the motor home in a safe spot and made my way quickly to ground zero. It was not long before the cache was in sight and soon in my hand.

Log signed and returned safely to its hiding place. Now off to the next challenge.

A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.

Cheers

We found the cache with petan. All is ok, relatively dry.

Having been out at the museum there were plenty of choppers out there, none on the sign, Obviously the Bristol Box Kite in the logo, made them all go away. We asked our minion to take a photo in front of the sign, but she failed to include the words.

Help wanted - new social media manager. Gee!!!

Thank you for the cache

Hello Gur, fancy seeing a reference to you all the way up here.

We were up for a bit of a pre-Easter Road trip with today's target being the Army Aviation Museum. Top spot, but then so is Oakey.

Must admit this was a quick park and grab, we failed to notice the stopping bay within walking distance of GZ, and parked just off the side of the road outbound from Oakey. The amount of traffic whizzing by at 4pm was quite extra-ordinary. Would not want to do this inbound.

Thanks for the cache.

Hi there GurTheWanderer, we found your cache Chopper Buster today.

We are returning from a road trip to Dalby. We just had to stop in at this geocache as we have previously DNFd it. Now we’re glad to convert the frownie into a smiley.

Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache 11 metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log are in good shape.

30-Oct-21
A plan was formed recently to camp at Oakey over the October long weekend (due to Ekka being postponed) and tackle the art and a number of fun puzzles in the vicinity. The call went out to a few others we enjoy travelling with and the solving began! Lots of back and forth between members and we finally had a full set a few days out from the trip.

The roads were wet and muddy but that isn't going to stop a group of dedicated geocachers on a mission! The rain held off which we were grateful for however chunks of mud were often shaken off shoes before returning to cars and moving on to the next one.

As is always the case when caching with others there were many laughs and a great time had by all. Always a great sense of achievement when you've been working through a project over a number of weeks.

Thankyou for placing and arranging this series for our enjoyment. The fields and flowers were in bloom. Birds a plenty enjoying the roadside water sources. The scenery was refreshing. Always enjoy a taste of the countryside. Logs signed as Team Grav (as in Gravel assault!)

***COs- still haphazardly trying to catch up on my massive logging backlog stretching back a number of years. It started as a series of unfortunate events and went from there...I'm logging this cache on the day I visited, apologies for the late log.****************************************Beamed myself up here mainly to do the ??SSE series with hatzofff, RoddyC and Imbunda. ??Went star trekking around the countryside finding all of them over 2 days. Star logs replaced in a fair few of them.???????? ?? No Klingons on the starboard bow or anywhere else, just a little mud which I know to avoid like the plague around here. ????????Some of the puzzles were easy?? and others were a steep learning curve?? in some of the tricks of computer technology???? which challenged my dinosaur brain!??????TFTC??

Caching today with RoddyC (designated driver) echocage1 and GS1947 aiming to complete SSE trail and attend the event.

The group had just finished the nearby SSE GeoArt, so while on the way to camp TripleTurmoil was nice enough to stop by so I could grab this one. After a couple of photos of the Oakey sign I wandered over to GZ and had the cache in hand.

Thanks for giving me a reason to stop by.

Today, the plan was to go west for the day and join the Oakey evening event. I ended up catching up with domsky and E_Smiley in Crows Nest where we completed *Whisperings of Crows Nest* Adventure Lab, and we then proceeded to Cooyar finding a variety of geocaches around that town. After having lunch at the Cooyar Hotel, we took a trip out to Muntapa Tunnels, of which we all seemed to enjoy the history of the old railway tunnel. We returned back to Crows Nest where we had a chance to find a few more geocaches, and then parted ways, when I was able to able to squeeze in the *Ye Olde Crows* Adventure Lab. A journey to Oakey was made via a few of the *Gravel's Travel Safari* series, and after attending the event and having a few conversations, it was time to return back to Brisbane.

This was my final geocache find for the day, and in the end, it took way longer than it should have. There were quite a few spider webs between the trees and bushes, and I kept searching around the ground in front of the sign, and various bushes in this sign island. It was a last ditch effort in making one final loop before logging a DNF, and sure enough, I found it very well hidden away. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks GURTHEWANDERER for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

The Geo daughter made the find for this one. Beautiful flowers here today. It seems like we are chasing Beardman across the south west at the moment, making finds a day or two after his visits. TFTC

If the business of Big Cabbage were horses, it would be the pluperfect Platonic ideal of the one-horse town. As it is, this settlement on the Sto Plains, located in between Überwald and Ankh-Morpork, is nothing like as exciting as its sole reason for being is the brassica trade. And it likes to advertise.

Billing itself as the green heart of the plains, Big Cabbage boasts The Biggest Cabbage in the World, which turns out to be a building erected in stressed concrete to look like a hundred-foot high cabbage, in which a multitude of cabbage-related ideas may be wondered at, bought, and taken home as souvenirs of an exciting holiday. Cabbage Beer may be bought, as can cabbage cigars, rolled on the inner thighs of alluring young local maidens.

A week long holiday of driving for the 3 turmoils as we headed to Emerald for the geoart.

This was our first one. First we parked on the wrong side of the highway, thought we could duck across, but it was just too windy and too dicey with children. So, we got back in, went up the road, turned around and then parked right at gz. Much better option. Children quickly had the log signed while I worked out what was next.

Easter trip away (in the hopes of getting into Qld) with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.

Up early to head over the border thanks to the Qld Premier. Headed through Warwick to Toowoomba then onto the Mega site in Dayboro.....a long 14hour day.

Met up with nibletricecakes & GLISS! to do the SSE series and signed logs as MiNiFiG!s to save space.

Nice quick find unless otherwise stated.....lots of orb spiders here!!

23,928. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For this series we also cached with Nibletricecakes and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGS!

With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border and see what happens, while developing a Plan B (Longreach region) and a Plan C (New South Wales counties loop) ! Day 3. With the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some counties and catching up with some caching friends to do the Star Ship Enterprise series, then head to Dayboro to set up camp. This was the next stop for the day. Finally started on the long anticipated Star Ship Enterprise series as Team MiNiFiGS! All finds were made nice and quickly without problems unless otherwise mentioned. We parked nearby this bonus Traditional cache among the series for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks GURTHEWANDERER !! I have flown into and out of Oakey previously !

So many orbs!!!!! Clever hide.

Signed today as MINIFIG! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek and Fitzy_1965 to tackle the SSE. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. Great to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.
