Nice little hide Smile TFTC

We were out and about doing the Dinosaur series and just had to grab this cache from YOF Smile

MrGravel and I decided that today we would take the drive out to Kingaroy and collect a few more caches. Then I saw that there was this Dinosaurs series and the decision was made - let's do it.
We have enjoyed the different views, sights, sounds and scratchy trees and bushes not to mention the slippery red dirt LOL
We had started at the bottom and just parked in a nice little nook off the dirt road so were able to collect quite a few on our way to the lookout.

Then we were rewarded with a couple of Youngoldfella's caches. Smile

Wow, who knew Kingaroy was holding a little secret with that Explorers Restaurant, that place was gold. Last night after a full day of caching we stayed the night at Burke and Wills and had a dinner stretched over a couple of hours at Explorers. We know where we are staying again just for the food!

Even with all the wine we knocked back last night, we were still keen to grab a few more caches today. We took the drive out to try and pick up a certain cache that we had solved but that came up busted so we decided to pick up a few others out here.

On these dirt roads we can’t believe that the speed limit is 100, we were doing about 40 as it was so early there were roos bouncing over the road everywhere we looked…

#7784 Cache Found

After being idle and tied up with household chores over the last few weeks, It didn't take to much prodding to decide a mini road trip was in order.
After consulting the trusty map decided that a little adventure North through Yarraman, Narango and Kingaroy. And because youngoldfella places his caches along some great country roads the marjority of attempts would be on his caches, With a few others thrown in for good measure Nice cache thanks for bringing me here and for the adventure.

Thanks for the great cache and adventure youngoldfellaSmileSmile

This Day in History
Monday, August 10, 1874. : American President Herbert Hoover, who worked for some time in Australia as a mining engineer, is born.
Herbert Clark Hoover was born on 10 August 1874, in West Branch, Iowa, USA, into a Quaker family. Hoover went on to become the 31st President of the United States. However, as a young man, he spent a year working for Bewick Moreing Company as a mining inspector, overseeing its Western Australian gold mines. In 1897, he arrived at Coolgardie, a remote town in Western Australia, on the tail end of the WA goldrush. As a mining engineer, his job was to select the mines which had the best prospects. A manager's house was built for him at Leonora, about 830km east of Perth. He was promoted before it was finished, however, and shipped off to China to oversee the coal mines.
In 1902, Hoover returned to Australia with his young bride, as Director of Bewick Moreing, and Manager of their Western Australian operations. He did not stay in Australia, but continued to travel, using his mining expertise around the world. In 1907, he finally inhabited the house built for him at Leonora, but it was not long before he returned permanently to the US.

When working on a list of caches for today between Murgon and Kingaroy I noticed these 2 out this way. I knew that as soon as Mr Beetle saw the Dam sign we'd be coming out here for a look so grabbed them ready.
This one was a nice little hide and gets a favourite point from us. It's good to have one along the way to a cache and place you want to visit anyway.

We decided to head off for a couple of days in the caravan and do some caching while our non geocaching friends were red clawing on the Bjelke Peterson Dam. We loved the rural countryside we encountered and while we were on our rounds we did maintenance as we went given that we were there at gz and sometimes it is not so easy for the owner to attend. Thanks to youngoldfella for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the location. CoolCool

This was one of the very few DNF's we had all week in this District. You are all very vigilant on your cache maintenance and we are very impressed. We see this one was replaced the same day we were out there but unfortunately for us it must have been after we were here. One for another time. Cheers!

06-Dec-15
Replaced and this one is ready to go again.

04-Dec-15
DNF at 4:40pm on 4th December 2015.

I have noted the DNF but due to our event on Saturday I will not have time tomorrow to get out there but will check on it on Monday the 6th December.

Out and about with one half of The Drovers from the South Burnett to Gympie areas for a couple of days caching. We found a variety of caches and containers along the way and plenty of different hides to keep us on our toes along the way and this was one of them.

Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches along the way.
