Awesome rock pool! However both The Garbageman and I had a real good look around and couldn't find the cache. A great place to come to, however this was the first DNF in our '25 cache list'
The copy and pasted bit: Today The Garbageman and I had an attempt at qualifying for the The Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge (GC54RAX), 25 caches in a day with unique DT ratings. It was so much fun, even though we didn’t make the 25. The Garbageman is a great bloke who did the driving, and took me to a lot of lovely places. We had so many laughs, it was awesome. My stats for the day: 23 finds, 22 unique DTs, 4 DNFs, 2 trackables involved, 2 ticks.

Riokun and I had an extended look for this today as part of our quest for the d:t challenge. We think we found where it was meant to be but nothing in there. Might be worth checking?
So, sometimes we overuse the word 'great', but I can honestly say that today was right up there. 9 hours kid free (fathers Day gift), spent with an old friend (Riokun), running around trying for 25 unique combo caches. And while we ultimately fell short (soooo close - 21?) we had some wonderful experiences (including a perilous and unnecessary cliff climb, tick removal of a monster from riokun's neck, a new swimming spot for the kids, some tree climbs, and a lot of fun times). We also learnt to take more food and water, allow more time for challenges, and remember that failing is simply a learning experience which frees us up to try again!

Might have gone walkabouts, and with the talk of perhaps upgrading this area in the future, it may not come back, but we will see
Going taylor fishing for a few hours I thought I would check for caches near by whole waiting on the tide. Thankyou for the cache
Took a bit of finding. So much rubbish left by (I assume) fisherman. Nice little spot on a rather bleak day.
Reperio at 1420.
This was a perfect day to go for a wander down to the water, but as I approached GZ, I spotted two fisherman about 20m away. Thinking I may have to bail out, I walked over to the cache, and found I could still retrieve it without drawing their attention. A nice spot.
Gratias djboa.

GeoWife1 and I spent the week camping at Swansea Gardens Holiday Park and had a wonderful time enjoying the local sights and of course doing a few caches while there.
The rain had eased off a little so it was a nice short walk up over the sand track and down into the pool. The tide was low so no problem accessing GZ.

Just checked on this one is all good...... Had a clue change.... Some people just aren't aware what another name for alcatraz is
Was looking for alcatraz looking spots to hide thingd but saw no resemblance to an island or.a jail where the cache was
Found with AZZA213 on an afternoon hunt. Found the previous cache here also, love coming back. TFTC.
What a great little spot this is.
Currently low tide, im sure its a fine spot for granny or the kids to putter about indeed. Im sorry I missed the archived cache in this area. A visit here is way overdue for this special spot. Giving it Fav purely for aesthetic reasons, its a must visit spot.
Incidentlly, muggles can be standing fishing 5ft from the hide, so it just be worth a geocache lesson , else the hide wont last.
[green] - Found It on Tuesday ... at 1:21 PM ...

I'm sure I have been here before looking for a cache and just like last time I came around on the eastern side of the pool and got wet shoes getting to GZ! I added a tiny bit of camo to the container as it was exposed. Thanks.
A pity my kids weren't here to have a swim, that is one great little pool.

Found this one yesterday with dltirner, amglenn and nlharwood. Quick easy find nice walk along the beach.
At blacksmiths for a wedding tomorrow. Thought we could get some caches while waiting. TFTC
Initially took the wrong track in, found it was high tide and double-backed to take the other trail. All our GPSrs were playing up today but we used the hint and found it. Happy to have some quick easy ones this week. Again a beautiful spot. The water is a beautiful blue...who needs Forster when you've got this in your backyard! SLTN TFTC
Arrived in Newcastle today & set up camp in the caravan park. After a quick lunch we set off with Liz and Bruce to do a few caches in the area.
A short walk along the waters edge led to the cache. Today was not hot enough to go for a swim
Thanks for placing this cache djboa

Having arrived in the Belmont area today with Di Morgan and husband Bill it was off to do some caching. We underestimated the difficulty of finding some of the well hidden caches but long searches revealed the cache in most instances. We enjoyed the beautiful location and spent time admiring the gorgeous views. A big thanks to djboa
This cache did indeed go missing, the local flora in this area has proceeded to die no doubt due to the recent high temperatures, made the hiding spot easy for muggles. New replacement cache in same location.
For some reason we could not find this cache. Gave it a good look around but left empty-handed
I rang Jfindit come with me drive to Belmont for geocaching today and Beautiful day .... Thank

Nice clue, Chris grabbed this one, then we had a spot of lunch,
Thanks for the cache djboa.
The biggest trip that Cccritter7 and I had ever attempted started early. We had over 50 caches planned, spanning from the Fernleigh Track to Belmont, Swansea and Caves Beach. We started by cleaning up a few of the Fernleigh Track caches, then headed to Belmont Lagoon to grab a couple. Then it was back to the Pacific Highway, ad onto a nearby cache where we met the one and only Colleda, the owner of the majority of the caches we were searching for today. After a quick chat, we were off to Pelican to grab a few before Bison Migration Trail. This wasn't as a fruitful series as we hoped, but fun was still had. After reaching the end, we hadn't found enough caches to solve the final, so we headed out to Galgabba Point to grab a couple, before heading back into Swansea. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to attempt any out Caves Beach way. But in Swansea, we grabbed some fuel from Woolies, ate it overlooking the water, and then headed back into Belmont. We powered up the Fernleigh, before splitting up at the end of a mammoth day of caching. In the end, I only had one flat! A record! 80km's in the end. Lots of fun.

I headed into the bush, with the radio in hand...I got a few strange looks hanging around the beach with a UHF radio in hand and bike gear. I loved the hint, very well executed and a lovely spot, one i would not know of if geocaching hadn't of taken me here.

A short search and cache was in hand. Left toy and key ring, took TB. TNSL TFTC
Did one here when the cashman had one nearby, but found this one easier tho.
Thanks djboa for keeping granny's pool alive.

A day out with Yella Belly who was kind enough to invite me on board the mighty Yella Belly 2 to cruise the lake for the Sand Islands series, TFTC djboa!!
Such a nice day, so just went around checking some of my caches were all good. Dropped Sister in Pink Trackable in here too.
Woke up early this fairly late this morning wandering what I was going to do for the rest of the day, Stuck my head out the window to check the weather average day very windy though. What was the great master plan I came up with Caching of course what else, Travelled North towards Swansea, Belmont. Past desolation Row at Catherine Hill Bay. They should have saved the Garage and burnt the prawn. Hoping to pick up a few caches. And the new series at Swansea. Found in company of the xPhenoms, Great cache. Great location. TFTC
never visited this side of the entrance channel before.
we spent more time looking at the kite surfers ,and the amazing out running tide, that hunting for the cache.
thanks for another good hide.

Final cache for the day. We had done a cache here several years ago and hadn't realised it was gone and then replaced.
This is a great little spot but unfortunately as it was low tide there was no water in Granny's Pool.
One of the geogirls located this one after a short search.
Thanks for the hide djboa

Finding this cache was such an achievement as the clue didn't help us all that much because we dont know much about it! TFTC
Came down after work for a swim at blacksmiths and also to come and find this cache. Had a fair idea where it would be. We found it pretty easily. Great little spot we have coming to for years. I would recommend bug repellant if you come here on sundown. I didnt wear any today and got belted by sandflys the whole time we were here. Thanks
No dollar signs to guide me like in its previous incarnation but found it despite the high tide and the two mums protecting their broods from the strange man muttering to himself. The grand brat would enjoy this pool.
We were staying at the nearby Blacksmiths Caravan Park for the weekend so this one was a huge team effort! This was found by my muggle brother in law.
Great spot too.
Thanks for the cache djboa.

I came here a week ago but had no coordinates, so could not have a proper look. Today the GPS was ready and I found the cache after a good look around, hidden in a simple but effective way. Thanks for a good hide in a great location.
My geobuddies first cache, and thought I may as well knock it off the list!
Lovely area and well hidden,
Found trackable from colleda, will definitely move it on as we geo 2,3 or 4 times a week!!

Nothing of interest on the tube tonight so I thought I'd check emails and found this had just been published. I seem to remember a Cashman cache here a while back. We'd been feeling pretty poorly this last week with bad head colds and tossed up whether to venture out. Mrs C said 'You go'.
Took off in the geovan and noticed my Etrex wasn't on. Stopped, hit the start button - nothing. Flat battery! Luckily I had my caching tool bag with me and rummaged around in it to find only one battery left, I needed two. Anyway I put it in and it had enough power to get me on track again.
Arrived at the Granny's pool car park and noticed it seemed pitch black tonight. Wasn't too sure about leaving the geovan here on its own but there is a house close by with lights on so thought it should be OK.
Heading down the track to the pool I could here the sound of young revelers having a party close by but well away from GZ. No need to worry about the tide tonight as we'd been having very low tides this week. Sometimes you can't get to GZ without getting wet when there's a big tide.
Got to GZ and started looking - not used to night caching, I think this may have been second time only.
GPS kept bringing me back to the same spot but each time I couldn't see anything matching the hint. After about five or six minutes I finally nabbed it, well hidden and spot on co-ords. Found a blank log too. SLLN. Thanks for the little bit of fun that was better than watching TV vote counting, you get my vote tonight djboa.

Pipped at the post again. Thinking back, while driving in I think I saw a van heading out. Got to car park, heard the party goes nearby, thought maybe it was a bunch of people looking. Never been here before but made my way to GZ in the dark. Same story as colleda, kept comming back to one spot with no luck. Actually looked around then face palmed myself. Opened the cache to write FTF, found out I was about 20min late! Ahhhhhh! Oh well, maybe next time. SL. TNLN. TFTC.
