Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. The wet weather over the last few days had dampened things down nicely and made for pleasant walking conditions today. I was surprised at the number of MTB'ers seen today, being as it was a Friday. .. According to Strava, I did 9.2km walking today with an elevation gain of 308m with 100% finds, so was pleased with that.Even though it was such a remote location, made a nice quick find here. TFTC
An enjoyable morning walk of 8km finding 15 caches and one DNF, with my non-Premium friend sausage3. A fun cache but the container was full of mushy logsheets. We found one which wasnt too bad, dried it out a bit and placed in plastic bag after signing. Tftc
29/03/2024 - 11:28Didnt know what to expect but when we got there it all made sense! As others have noted, the logbook was very wet and damp but successfully managed to get a scribble on the sheet without it disintegrating. Returned as found.marcussjd9#211TFTC
Shame TV wasnt included. The cache needs attention, its wet and hard to log on. Thanks for the find!
Didnt have a piece of paper on me, next person can they replace the log. Found a little piece that was dry to sign. TFTC!
Found @ 1523 with Gumboot_Adventurer and Squirel_joe - Logbook Wet and needs replacing. Quick find, but I didn't find the location remotely funny. TFTH
Today was a beautiful day for caching but the going was tough for the first two finds. I was caching with Hatzoff and GrannySmith1947 .
These last few were much easier to get to as it was down hill now.
Cache found and log signed before replacing as found. TFTC

Beautiful day after the big fog. No school holidays. Not a weekend. So we thought it safe to venture into these crazy bike tracks. The going was tough for us injured gals but we were soon moving up and town and over the tracks.
We only met 2 bikes on our way around these half dozen caches.
Another up. Boy have the bikes cleared this area of vegetation.
Caching and travelling with Imbunda and grannysmith1947.

This morning, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I planned to take baby Warren on a walk up to Mount Cotton. We took the direct main route up to the summit, and then proceeded to take a loop around the area via the *What Goes Up Must Come Down* (WGUMCD) series. To replenish our energy, we then detoured past Capalaba for a lunch, before proceeding home.
In the late afternoon, it was an errand at Clontarf that allowed me to drive north and visit a few more of the *Witch's Hat* series.
We set out on this walk departing from the trailhead at 09:20 hr, and we walked a total distance of 6.9 km across an elevation of 232 m, with a moving time of 1:40 hr. Despite that, we ended up getting back to our cars just after 12:00 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/7443275065). A few nice-looking mountain biking trails that I'd love to come back to. It must have been a long walk for baby Warren as she took a short nap during the last kilometre.
As we descended from the summit and made a loop around the area, we made a stop at this cache. After a short search, we managed to find the object first, before then locating the container. A nicely themed geocache, and I had always wondered how these go missing at home (perhaps they prefer to be geocaching in the outdoors also?). The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks DeFCoN_6 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Today was the first ruzzelz ride event for 2022. With a hard core ride planned for today only two victims came along for the torture test. TaxisVW and DrPam had serious mechanical issues before the ride started ( air in tyres is essential as are sound tubes), stealth seeker was ready to role and so it was that we took on the challenge of clearing out most ( but not all of the caches in this area.
I have ridden these trails several times before. However my usual MTB friends are not geocachers so stopping to cache has not been an option.
Thanks to the various cachers for placing caches along the trails.

After climbing Mt Cotton I still had plenty of time left to do more caches so I did a loop around here. What a fabulous place. Me, a few walkers and only a few MTB riders.
Nice pun. You can have a FP just for the pun. Log was damp but made a mark on there. TFTC DeFCoN_6

It’s almost 6pm & we’ve been side tracked to this cache, keen to nail them before the sun goes down nice hide
This morning we hadn’t caught up with much wildlife apart from two old hacks walking around looking for caches. Just before we reached this cache we finally saw a goanna and had to stop for an obligatory photo (we did ask it’s permission).
My wife didn’t have any problems getting close to it for a photo, but when we had to leave the trail to head into the bush and walk right by it things became tense. Suddenly she had to keep her eyes on it lest it made a dash towards her and ultimately her phone. Even when we were 40 metres passed it, she still had to stop and turn around to make sure she wasn’t being followed. tftc

Today I met a friend on the south side of town for an early bike ride and once this was done it was too early to go back north. Traffic was terrible. So I decided to explore this beautiful forest for 2 hours and find plenty of caches. All in great conditions. I had a great time!

I must be getting tired now... this took much longer than it should have... GPS was actually pretty spot on, I just didn’t look in the right spot...

After the experience at the previous cache, we decided to both trek in and look this time. Finding a cache in the bush with no clue is no easy feat, so we took the bikes in part of the way and left them while we walked on to search for the cache. Poor GPS signal, combined with the fact that three times we appeared to be very close while beside a particular log, led us to spend way too long searching for this one. We eventually found the cache a good 8 metres from where the GPS told us to look, exhausted and relieved to finally sign the 15th and last log book for the day.
In total, the trip up the mountain and back took us nearly 5 hours! We hadn't hurried and we spent too long looking for some of the caches that didn't have hints. We were relieved that most of the caches hadn't been found in weeks, but the final four already had a signature from today, and we used up most of our alcohol hand wash over the course of fifteen caches. Thank you for placing and maintaining this remotely interesting cache for our entertainment!

Monday. Today was a day of MTBing with Que Sera targeting some great caches in this area. I loved this whole area. There is a great variety of caches. We started off at the parking co-ords just off the main road and we headed in, all kitted out for a great bike ride. Loving the cache names and ideas with this series. Had a good laugh when we found this cache container. Found the cache container in good condition in a logical spot.
This was the 3rd of 19 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***DeFCoN_6***, for showing us this place.

Mrs slow puncture and I decided to take our bikes to find 19 caches along these tracks. It took us 5 hours and there were lots of times we needed to walk our bikes but other times it was a nice breezy ride. We were able to ride most of the way to this cache and this one was a quick find and we both had a laugh at the co sense of humor. I would like to give a fp to alot of these caches for all the laughs. Thanks for the fun
Yet another neat cache found in this reserve.
A bit of a hike off the path but rewarding when you spot it. After signing log and replacing cache as found I deliberated on the next one...would have been a hike through the bush or follow the path, which would have been longer. In the end I decided to leave the remaining few for another day.

Out finding caches on a rainy afternoon in this bit of bush...This was the 5th find.
A light, enjoyable bush bash to get to GZ followed by a moment of confusion before it all made sense. That's worth a favourite point!

On the way home i decided to detour to find the 17 caches in the Mount Cotton reserve. Thanks DefCon
With all the antennae overhead on Mt Cotton, expected the reception to be a lot better here. Tried the remote but it appears the batteries are flat and I was all out of fresh ones. Was really looking to enjoy some evangelism on the big screen this sunday morning. Maybe next time. Thanks for maintaining this hide DeFCoN_6.
Heading clockwise around the loop from the quarry, I am making good time and again made a quick find here. At this rate, I will be back at the car within the hour.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
On the trail we continued as we headed toward no. 5 for the day. It certainly had us at a very remote location indeed; ha ha. Saw a small plane fly overhead, wonder if they could see us below! Another very quick find. We are certainly starting to warm up now. TFTC.
See a number of caches along the trails that are not rated 1.5/1.5 plus with a few select targets like the letter box at the top and Alpha we decided to head off. We decided to head straight up and take the loop on the way back which seemed a good decision so picked off caches along the way. A few Roos spotted and a nice bit of bush and some views at times. We completed the signing suitors and re hid. TFTC.
Out for a day of caching with stortigirls and out'n'about. On our way back to the geomobiles, we decided to detour to find a few more caches. Another quick find here, before moving on to the next one. TFTC
We were able to access the remote location and sign the log today, by channelling our caching efforts Tftc DeFCoN_6

This one was easy to spot, as it had fallen out of its hiding hole. We signed the log and hid it well again.
We are loving our walk through this area, the sound of the birds is beautiful.

A day of solo caching just doesn's seem to happen often enough, but soehow today ended up as just that. I was surprised how warm it was, and as I set off at 7am I was in t-shirt and shorts. Mt Cotton was the main plan for today and a really pleasant walk it was. What a magical place.
Ahh the joke caches are coming thick and fast now! haha.
A quick find, and a nice laugh. Thanks for the cache. All is well with this one.

A walk around the trails and collecting this serieswith the geodog. The start of the trail led me to the caches just off the trails and had me looking in several spots for many of them. The a couple I went off bush to reach the next to make short work of the distances between. All in all, it was a good workout for me up and down gullys and through the trees. No DNF's and a lovely day for a walk. TFTC DeFConN_6

Sorry for the generic log on these few. I was back today to finish of the series along this West Mount Cotton Road caches
I started at E.T. and worked my way around to Charcoal Charlie. All the caches today were found in a reasonable amount of time. I think one I had to search around for a bit, I just can't remember which one it was now [?] Most were in plain view once you got into the right position
All log sheets were dutifully extracted and signed and dated. Then all caches were replaced as I'd found them, all are in readiness for the next geocaching visitor to trek in here and find them for themselves [8d]
The weather was pretty dodgy for me today, with raining falling at times and me arriving back at my car afterwards in a quite soaked state Should have brought along a raincoat!
Thanks for the cache DeFCoN_6

Came down to Bris from Toowoomba with Eskies5 to try and grab some caches and tick a few more boxes. Found this one laying out in open after making the find we added more camo. Great hide and TFTC DeFCon 6
We are heading toward a milestone event, so we decided to set ourselves a challenge to achieve a few milestones all at once. To manage this however, we have found ourselves on the dark side of town where there is an abundance of caches not too far apart ... perfect for our requirements.
Fortunately, all the caches we found today seemed to be pretty straight forward and we managed to add our name to the log book without any difficulty. We certainly enjoyed our day out exploring this little area of bush land.
Thank you DeFCoN_6 for having placed the series and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy
