After having solved this years ago, it felt great to finally drop by to make the find and see that smiley. Tftc!

Having had this puzzle solved for a while, given our familiarity with the subject matter from our younger days, we ventured here today to collect the final.

With recent logs in mind we came prepared and have put a temporary addition and log to the hide to better protect it. We will return with a more permanent solution should the CO wish.

Thanks for the fun puzzle and adventure at GZ.

24-May-21
The eldest GeoKid had this solved within minutes, so I popped off to GZ for a quick and easy find.

Unfortunately as others have noted the cache is in very poor condition and the log is unable to be signed - see pic.

I worked through this puzzle with some assistance from DeadThief and came up with coordinates that unfortunately didn't work on the checker. After finding another cache nearby I thought that it was still worth a look with what I had worked out.
Got to the GZ and checked a few spots that may have corresponded with the coordinates and realised maybe I was simply wrong. Looked a bit wider and checked one more spot. On approach I could see some plastic and was soon greeted by a container. It was however in extremely bad condition. I was lucky enough to be able to fill in the log but on replacing the cache it all but crumbled in my hands. It would be unfortunate to see this cache archived as the effort to prepare the puzzle would well outweigh the maintenance but that is out of my hands. After reviewing previous logs it appears the container has been damaged for quite some time.
Either way thanks for preparing and placing this cache. I hope you are in a position to keep it operational.

Container is brittle and broken and needs replacing. Contents are damp.

Solved the series many moons ago. And I'm pretty sure I've already collected one or two. Added this to the set on a sunny autumn Canberra afternoon. The remnants of this cache are in poor shape. Needs urgent attention.

20-Nov-19
I had solved this one and today I decided to head out for the find. I parked some distance away so that I could get a bit of a walk. Approaching GZ and I found the log book on the ground, plastic bag nearby and the remains of a container. Book was dry and I was able to leave my sig on a page, but all previous sigs were a mess. I gathered the bits together and placed them in the container remains and put some bits of bark over it, hope it lasts until it's replaced. TFTC.

Out for unusually early cache with Gliss! Sunshine and warm weather - such a surprise! Loved this puzzle -right up my ally and achievable to solve! A fav from me. Cache was full of water and moss, so we weren’t able to sign, but Gliss! Will attach a photo. thanks for the cache!

With us both having plans for tonight, Nibletricecakes & I started the day off with a cache find. What unique concept - doing our daily in daylight. I picked this one because a) not far from home and b) logs indicated that the container was damaged so it could get archived. . I do like pyzzles that even I can solve. The damaged container was found at the co-ords but it was full of water so I did not sign the log. TFT puzzle.

Stopped for this one on a rainy day, which might not have been such a smart idea. Container in a very poor state, didnt attempt a sign

Was catching up with dty73 tonight but also needed to find a few caches so we headed out for just the two I needed. I have had this one sitting solved for quite a while but it had been that kind of day that using a close to home cache was just what was called for! In the dark we searched a couple of close by places before spotting in by torchlight. Was in really bad condition, the lid is brittle and broken and full of water, log soaked and all needs completely replacing. I thought my kids were done with this game but discovered one of them playing this the other day, yay for headphones, although it makes their commentary somewhat more bizarre!

Out for the second day of our Canberra blitz picking up puzzle caches that have been worked out for quite some time - some of them so long ago they've even been forgotten by this time. Anyway, this go around we flitted from suburb to suburb picking up park 'n grabs (or very nearly so) clustered around the northern end of the ACT. By no means a power trail as most were scattered here and there higgledy piggledy which turned into a slow moving day in terms of overall numbers but we were thorough and painstaking enough so that at the end of the long day we still managed to scratch our way past the sixty-cache threshold, which was about ten better than we'd hoped to do. A few finds turned out more challenging than we wanted but overall everything was found in short order and without major difficulty. Well done to the CO's on that score. Apologies for the copy n' paste logs - most puzzles deserve a few more words than this - but gathering in a couple hundred puzzles in a short span of time amounts very much to binging the area leaving little time to reflect on what brought us here. Not to worry, tho, everything has been well worth the effort, and will bring us back several more days before we're done. TFTC.

20-Feb-19
Another day spent ticking off solved Mystery caches in Canberra with 154Crows. It's been very rewarding to convert hours of puzzle solving into finds. This time around, we tackled the NW section of the ACT. Again, we had another big day - 61 Mystery caches (10% of remaining) with 0 DNF's!! Thanks to all CO's for their puzzles and hides (apologies for the generic logs).

This cache was cracked, filled with (blue) water, and the log is soggy/pulpy.
This cache will need maintenance as soon as possible.

20-Feb-19
As described in my log -

Lid was cracked, which has allowed for water to fill the cache. The water has saturated the logbook to the point of a few pages of pulpy mess and the rest were not writable.

Will attach photos tomorrow.

I'm surprised this cache has been unloved for so long. When I first looked at this puzzle, I enlisted the help of my older son. He gave me back information but only for the south coords. He didn't realise there was a second page. Oh well. Then I forgot about this puzzle for a while until tonight. So I quickly redid the south coords and uncovered the east coords. All that was left to do was to go find the cache.

It was a coolish night with a change in the weather. It's back to jackets on again. I parked in a safe place nearby and walked the 200-300m to go find it. I tried to be discreet so as to not attract the attention of the passing cars with my torchlight. The cache was found in reasonable condition although the container is cracked and becoming brittle. The log and contents however are safe inside their plastic bag. I was surprised by the number of newish looking swaps in here.

This my daily cache #159.

And another one of these down. They are slowly disappearing so better get them now. With this one too after spending quite some time with Dino on the puzzle the answer ended up somewhat in the middle of the road so I asked a previous finder for a hint. Learned my mistake and could come out to make a quick find.

Thank you gecko1968 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

F(H)ound It! #1870 - @12:20 PM

Been up this way to attend an event and I'm still a little early for my next appointment so I've got a bit of time to find (just one more) cache.
I used to play a lot of arcade and computer games which didn't help me at all with this puzzle...Thanks for the cache, gecko1968

These puzzles have very interesting GZ's! On initial look it doesn't look like the puzzle has been solved correctly so thanks for the Geocheckers which confirmed my solutions!

I solved these ages ago but I was hesitant about picking them up, saw they had geocheckers the other day (I swear they didn't before...?) and every one was spot on the money! That's a surprise!

Thanks for the cache, quick find once at GZ

After my previous failure on this one, I gave it another go, starting from scratch. This time I got the tick from the geochecker. So with a son willing to go for a driving lesson, I took the opportunity to drop by this cache. Quickly found. TFTC.

I wasn't going to go caching today, but after spending the morning solving this series, I just had to go out and get them. I attempted to solve some during the week, but none satisfied the geochecker. This morning I rechecked the 4 I'd attempted and completed the other 2. I managed to get 3 to succeed. One didn't have a checker and another (based on the logs) was probably right, so I assumed the last one may also be right, after checking and rechecking my answers. Unfortunately, it wasn't right so its back to the drawing board on this one.

It was a gloriously sunny Winter day today, so we took The Woofer for a nice long caching hike in and around Pinnacle Nature Reserve. Saw some amazing views and found all the caches on our list, which is always a bonus!

Chris solved this one a while ago, so it was added to today's list and we made the muddy walk from the previous cache. A nice quick find. TFTC!

The only find of the day. June now and there are a fresh set of gaps in the calendar to fill. Today was one of those days and I decided to finally tick off a puzzle I had solved quite a long time ago. Despite solving it so long ago, I hadn't collected it even though I had collected caches that were close by previously. Luckily, this meant I had a nice easy grab this afternoon after school.

I parked close to GZ and then headed up to GZ to begin the search. After checking a few spots first, I eventually located the cache. Log signed and cache replaced, I think that is my last one of the series. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC gecko1968, I really should be more proactive in collecting all these puzzles I have solved over the years!

Found on another nice day out geocaching. It was probably not the best idea to park on the side of the road for this one, but whatever - we survived! After a short walk, it was another quick find. Such a cool puzzle ONCE AGAIN! TNLNSL. TFTC gecko1968!

Had to duck out to get a nearby cache, as I miscounted my cache collecting this morning, and was only up to #498. I had planned to collect Canberra's oldest cache tonight with JLT and HH, so needed to make sure my numbers were right!

I had solved this one in the last week or so - no hassles with getting the numbers, but just disappointed that HypoHippo did not help me - he is the minecraft expert! Stopped by the GZ with Geoman and we climbed the bank to find the cache almost bang on target! Not sure what the other cars thought as they whizzed past, but it was not too busy this time of the afternoon. I should also point out that there was grass at the GZ TALLER THAN ME! And I am not a short person! Can't wait for it all to die down and be seedless again.

Thanks gecko1968 for this cache, and all the others I have collected on my way to this milestone! This also marks around 130 days of caching in a row - I am racking up the stats now!

We decided to mine for some more answers this evening and revisit this interesting world. Having the resources we needed it didn't take too long to work out the combinations...there really is a lot to this world that's for sure. Surpised to see it located not to far off the road so perfect park and grab for us at the perfect time of day (or should we say night) .Thanks gecko1968, we are almost through the series now.

This series has been haunting me for far too long, so I set out to crack your codes. I was far from smooth and I had to call in quite a bit of help, but eventually I had numbers for all six, so today was the day to go and get them. Happily it was not too busy today, but I did feel a bit exposed here. It is good it did not take too long. Thanks.

#2386 - 21:05; Out on the nightly cachiong run with MrDamage, but this one was a little different as we sought out different caches on tonight's run. MrD had done this cache and I had done the first in the series, so we decided to do the swap over tonight and then work our way through the rest of the series over coming weeks. Parked pretty close to GZ and wandered up and down the embankment before literally tripping over the hide. log signed and cache replaced it was off to fulfil MrD's part of the mission. As a fellow Minecraft player (FTB pack FTW) i had a good idea on most of this series. Had some time yesterday to work out all the coordinates and had this planned for a run today. Once i arrived and searched the location i was somewhat confused with the clue. After widening my search i came up with a few possibles however they turned up to be red herrings Razz

After 20 or so minute when i was about to head off i spotted something that looked a bit suspicious and lo and behold i had the container. A stealthy sign and return to position between cars and off for some more caching.

Ah, I should've done this one way back when it was launched...
Not to worry though!

Now that I have a few days off, I had a little more time to solve these! I think this one was the hardest in the series! In the end, I couldn't build the recipes, so I took your advice! I got my daughter to fire up the game, and build them for me Smile. After that, it was easy. Thanks for the cache gecko1968.

With the weather being a bit kinder today I went for a wander for some caches. This was the second find - solved earlier and a quick and easy find after parking nearby and walking in. Three to go !

We enjoyed our research for the Minecraft series of caches. We learnt a little about the characters and objects in the game but certainly nothing about strategy. Today we were in the appropriate part of Canberra again and after a short hunt, the cache was located. The cache and it's contents were in good condition. TFTC gecko1968.

DogBoyOz was keen to solve this when it first came out and he got some pointers at the Puzzles and Coffee event. The following day he just about had it nutted out and with a little assistance the coordinates were confirmed. The on Friday he asked if I could take him to find it. Being on the other side if town I decided we'd better solve them all. So this afternoon we sat down and did 2, 3 and 4 together but then his attention span ran out and I did 5 and 6 quickly.

After that we set out to find the whole lot in one afternoon. No flies here, or any grass seeds, but a precarious clumb up from the road side.

Thanks gecko1969.

Melbourne cup had just been ran and Mr_roo decided to jump out of the gates and go for this cache. After getting a good barrier draw, the gates opened and he was off. All was looking good as he galloped past the 500 meter point. The 250 meter mark came up and he had a road crossing, so off his mount he got and walked his bike over the road. Finally He got to the post and hoooray the winner of the cache cup was mr_roo.

A quick easy find and enjoyed solving the cache TFTC

Solved after a long evening of googling, scrolling and trolling for answers (and enlisting the help of willing.... youths ....can't really call them kids anymore considering they're not even teenagers anymore). After much head-scratching I found a good crafting table website that made the penny drop and after a bit of deduction a solution presented itself. After a great day all over and around the Pinnacles I was nearly about to head off thinking I had finished the series when I noticed I had missed picking up this one. Quick drive to a close-by street soon had the cache in hand and NOW I think it's time to go home.

This was solved by FFLL no 1 when it came out. As we had to head around the area tonight, we decided to collect it along the way. After completing Bored (in Forde) with specimenX, we were about to depart and head home when my phone went off.

Hmm new puzzle. I had a quick look and was like ummmm no idea so we continued chatting.

When I got home, I had another look. Then did some searching and bingo, I knew what this was all about.

I managed to put together some numbers that looked relatively good, so the decision was, DO I or DONT I??

Well I did. There were no finds posted on the cache so I decided to risk it. Off I went in the geomobile.

Arrived at the GZ for a quick retireval (coords are good on this one thanks Big Grin) opened the log................ and I was beaten hahaha. Agh well, I am satisfied with a STF on a puzzle about a game I have no idea about lol

Dropped a TB for the next finder.

Thanks for the puzzle gecko1968 and I hope to see some more coming from the geokids as this one was fun to solve Big Grin

Uuuuuh, it was cold and windy tonight!
I still have no idea about this game. But if you continue with this kind of puzzle, I will become an expert eventually. Big Grin Some of my numbers were wrong. But the numbers after the decimal point were obviously right. Smile I thought the hiding place would be similar to puzzle #1. That's why my search took a bit longer. But thanks to precise coordinates I found the box after some minutes. I took the TB.
TFTC and the puzzle, gecko1968!

Well... I tried to, At the GZ I started the search and then saw the log of STF a quick look and I saw a car sitting road side with what looked like a GPS screen display but they left shortly after I noticed them... went back to searching and then...

A SIREN and some BLUE and RED lights... Oh this will be good fun. I began the explanation to the two officers, the younger of the two seemed interested but the older didn't seem to like the idea and told me I should be on my way. I didn't feel like an arguement with them so I left.

I will come back to this one some other time... hopefully without the interuption
