Found by Mary & David at 1540. Glad we had the GeoPrado today, as it had to get down and dirty to get us close to this cache. We don't know this area, so were surprised to see how many cars were at the end of Beach Road, with at least one driver set up with a camera and a huge telephoto lens. At GZ, another complication was a high tide, but we found a way through and located the cache in a logical spot. Our thanks to TR!.
The road? To this is a challenge for my vehicle but made it safely. A quick find but the container is missing its lid and the contents could fall out one way or get wet the other TFTC TR!
The road was rough into this area so it was slow going but there were a number of others out today fishing and enjoying the area. A quick find and off we went further down the road. tftc
Found whilst out caching with OutRangerous in the Avalon area. The road looked too wet and wild to take the station wagon down so opted for a walk instead. A very popular area and nice views. TFTC
Out for a day's geocaching with Chakram. battling the flies and sunburn. location that i have never been to because i never knew one could.
Another great find on a geocaching trip around the area.

Interesting spot with all the shell remains. Not a beach for swimming but good for looking for shells. The road in is fun and rough!

Out caching with Bazinga01 and Posho6. Had to leave the car at the boat ramp and pile 8 people in Bazinga's car to get down the track to the cache. The drive to the cache was more fun that finding the cache.
Quickly established that our big old 2WD bus was not going down this track! We all rugged up, as it is a cool day and the wind was biting down here, and set off for a walk down here. The kids loved jumping over all the muddy puddles along the way - I'm somewhat amazed, and very glad that none of them ended up IN one of them, and we all enjoyed the abundant bird life we saw along the way. Saw a guy near gz poking around the place, but he seemed very focussed on his own business and unconcerned by ours. The cache was found quickly and quietly, while the younger kiddos hunted for shells and explored the water's edge - they can be great cover sometimes! Thanks to TR!
Beautiful spot for a cache. Lived in Melbourne all my life and geocaching never ceases to amaze me in the amount I learn about this great place. Will be back with for a walk some time very soon.

This is a horrible road even though I have an X-trail it still was not enjoyable. Lucky too that it was bone dry, might have been a bit harder otherwise.

Nice quick find here today.
Fortunately no-one in site.
Last time I came down here a guy was entertaining his wife (or maybe it was the other way round) on the bonnet!!
So I thought I'd wait to return.
Today was all fine.
You don't realise how close the penisula is till you come down here.

Well, since we're already out to the end of road, we might as get this one too. This was the 5th cache of the morning while out with MrsBlackDuck. Very cool shell dunes. Would have loved to come at low tide and beach combed!

Cache run with Mrs Blue Duck, we have to do all if these we may never get this far again! TFTC.
Wasn't able to find this cache today as there were too many muggles around to search properly.
Collected this one on the way back from finding Star - Trekkin. Had a bit of a search around, checked low first then had a think about 'the usual way' and came up with the goods. Mini heart attack when I opened the container and saw what looked like spiders legs. It was just the black ring things from the notebook. Paranoid much?
Thanks TR! for bringing me out this way, somewhere I'd never have been without caching.

After finding the cache at the boat ramp, headed down the "road" for this one. Well that was an experience, huge potholes, bumps and mud -this would be impassable even in a 4wd after any rain! But it was dry today so it was just a slow trip with carefully selected lines. Finally got to a suitable parking spot and had the cache in hand very quickly. Now to head back up that road - maybe I was meant to walk! Thanks to TR for this one, and interesting part of the bay I haven't seen before.
Found during the Cito event. A nice little spot that I have never visited before.
Grabbed this one while taking part in the CITO at Kirks point.

Picked up this little beauty while attending the "Oscar's Waste Collection" CITO event. I like the placement of this one well done and thanks for the hide!
Quick find here today whilst out for todays CITO. Thanks TR! For another cache in a spot that is new to me in Geelong.
Picked up whilst combing the beach for rubbish at CITO Event "Oscar's Waste Collection". Just happened to be collecting with the CO at the time but he didn't give me too much help really TN, left a pathtag. TFTC TR!, it was nice to meet you

Out in the area caching today, as usual had a great day and enjoyed the hunt. The find gave a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Many thanks TR! for placing this cache.
Mrs Crackers joined Alansee, Mrs Coffee and Micaparamedic for a days caching adventure around northern Geelong.
After a dnf at Kirk's Point we were hoping for a better result here. The road was quite rough but we took it slowly and were soon at gz where the cache was found quickly and all our names were added to the log.
Thanks again for the cache.

After birding here many times I am familiar with the area but I don't recall this road being so bad! Fortunately the X-Trail took it in its stride and all was well and the hide soon to hand.

My main objective of this trip was the WWFM IX event in Geelong at ridiculous o'clock. After caching near the city after the event, it was time to make my way toward home... but I had plenty of that time still in hand.
I've a certain fondness for this area, courtesy of a couple of memorable hides, one of which gained me a year's worth of unloved days when I visited the Point and walked to the bird hide. Since then, a whole new slew of caches has been published, so it was time to return.
Apart from the scenic stroll down the track (I've driven down here before, but didn't want to deal with the slalom course this time), what made this cache most noteworthy was the accompaniment of the container belonging to the nearby What is Kirk's Point??? hide, as I'd been muggled from putting it back in place. Not the first time I've taken a cache on a side trip, and probably not the last.
Thanks again, TR!

Last week I came down to Lara caching with Biggles Bear. There were many caches we ignored as they had already done them, so today I decided I would try to clean up the area. It's nice to come out this way This was a quick find. Thanks to TR! for the cache.
Not much more here that I didn't see at Kirks point. Same view, different trash at GZ.
Weather was quite clement for 8amish, coordinates were reliable.
Thanks for the cache and the view today.

What do you do when you have a good weather forecast for Saturday? You plan a day caching out in and around Lara . Square Pegs, GazaC and I left Melbourne at sunrise this morning, stopping here to have a look for this cache which was found with accurate co-ords and in good condition.
This was an even better drive with lots of ruts, bumps and mud. Great fun.
Thanks TR! for making this an enjoyable day exploring.

Find number ten for the day and I imagine Teamranger! will have quite a number of my logs to read this evening ! Needing some exercise and being unsure of the condition of the track I elected to leave the Geo6E and walk in and looking at some of the lumps and bumps, this was probably a sensible choice.
As I approached GZ I noticed a likely search site and was soon proven correct.
Signed the log, admired the view which was remarkably free of any form of water-borne vessel today, then headed on to the next.
Thanks Teamranger! for showing me sights I hadn't seen before !

The Adventure:
Travelled the rough road, I would imagine it would be interesting in wet weather
When I arrived at the GZ, I just looked around the area in sad dismay, similar to the launching ramp, this area was full of rubbish, it is a sad blight on society when we can't keep area nice. I would imagine that this area to would look nice without the rubbish.
The arrow of my gps told me where to go, and within a few minutes I had located the cache, signed and returned it.

Found with Trailrunning on another Monday caching adventure, We were both had time off work so this gave us the opportunity for a big cache run, we headed out to the You Yangs and then headed towards Geelong, a good time was had with some interesting places visited. Thanks Teamranger! for the cache.
The hardest part of this and two other caches in the area was negotiating the roads. The first road in was badly corrugated and the road to the last two caches had many deep holes which took quite some negotiating in our low clearance Ford Focus. Again accurate coordinates and limited hiding locations in the area of GZ led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. TFTC Teamranger!
Having taken the day off I'd planned to grab some caches in the Geelong North area, and was happy to hear that Rebel had also taken half a day off. Meeting at the end of the Eastern Freeway we headed over the Bolte and Westgate to gain access to the rich rewards of an un-visted and un-plundered area. We had a great day of caching with my tally 60 Finds / 2 DNF's. We will be back next week to do it all over again, as I've solved all the puzzles in the Geelong area and it's not time to collect. The roads a bit bumpy, but an easy find. Thanks

Muggle enjoyed the view so we drove to another cache. Quick find on return. Was he a muggle or a cacher? Latest written log was 2 days ago so likely a muggle.
A van was parked near GZ, but maybe they were sleeping. Quickly found the cache, retreated to the car to remove and sign the log, and then replaced. A part of the bay I had never visited before, but no ships passing. TFTC
MMMM some guy and his partner were doing as better job than rabbit's on the bonnet of his car here.

Found! Was a beautiful day out, a few boats around & people fishing. #496 for us, creeping ever closer to the magic 500 at Whyndam Lights later on.
I had decided to head all the way out to the Captain Kirk's Trek cache and grab this one on the way back.
When I arrived at GZ, there was only one likely spot and sure enough there it was. Dumped rubbish was in evidence here too, which is really disappointing, as sites like this (minus the rubbish of course) have a bleak kind of attraction and make you feel like you're a long way from civilisation. The rubbish though, brings you right back down to earth.
Thanks for the cache Teamranger and another place I have often wondered about with a view to fishing. Not today though, with the strong onshore making it cold and choppy.

I decided to find all the caches in Point Wilson this afternoon.
This was #4 of 6.
Decided that with several large potholes and just such a short distance from Kirk's Point, I would be better off running and cycling in, so no car-bogged-down worries for me!
A quick find, but it's a pity some people come litter such a natural environment.

Suscoe's second find of the afternoon on a Lara area run.
Having the Silver vehicle today the clearance got the better of us so the car was left for an enjoyable walk to GZ.
Along the way we enjoyed the scenery but it is often off putting to see the rear end of a thin creature disappearing into long grass as you walk past, suppose it is better than the double pointy end.
Anyway with q quickened step the trip took a little less time than expected only to meet the scavenging muggle near GZ. so waiting for the looking the other way moment a quick grab was done, signed and returned as he sorted rubbish.
Walk back was fun working out where the slithery fellow could be.
Thanks to Teamranger! for bringing us out here again.

Our second find for the day. Some skilful driving was required to get around the potholes on the road into this cache. (It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some cachers can be, is it that hard to place logbooks such as these in the cache pages first so the next cacher doesn't have to nearly destroy the log book getting it out, hmmm. I have caches similar to these and find the same results). Having got that off my chest I did enjoy the views and the very high tide today. SL TFTC

Only joking as I read you log on our face book page and I have to agree with you but there is nothing you can do to make a finder make some remarks.
My week on duty at the Fire Brigade and after checking the trucks etc this morning Ozbob and the ageing Bushfire decided to grab a cache or two and this was the first.
On arrival and noticing where we needed to go it was into 4x4 but you can negotiate this track because we saw two young girls in a BMW coupe well down this track.
The white beast had no problems but any vehicle with a bit of clearance will get you to this location but after heavy rain that could all change.
I have been down this way a couple of years ago to find the next cache and we did find it today but I already have a smiley but ozbob grabbed this one while we were in the area.
Low tide today but still lots of bird life around so with the log signed it was back to the boat ramp and seek out the next cache.
Thanks to Teamranger for placing this cache.
