Enjoyed a paddle around Googong Dam this morning, taking my new kayak on its second outing.
This was the trickiest cache - not so much because of the hide itself, but rather the combination of an infestation of overgrown blackberries combined with my flimsy boardshorts. My shins are not looking great right now.

Despite the weather forecast predicting showers and wind starting late morning, the water was like glass most of the morning with the wind starting to lift on the way back to the cars. Lots of fun trying to find a suitable landing spots on the islands due to the regrowth and shallow rocking areas and sunken logs. Last time with StarsAlign, we walked out to the islands as the water was so low during the draught. TFTC
SocialClimber and I went for a 'recovery' paddle today in Googong after out more serious efforts at Burrinjuck yesterday. I'd been eyeing these little islands off for a while but was much happier to go with someone else rather than a solo attempt.
A great day with all our caches found - we'll come back for the ones a little further out, with the wind increasing towards lunch it got a bit choppy and I was glad to get back to shore to recover from the recovery paddle!
A random pic from today's adventures attached.
Thanks, Tankengine! A favourite for this cache for a great location!

#3238 Landed at the nearest end of the island on our approach which left us with a bush bash through the armpit high grass and blackberries. I then ended up surrounded while DT skirted around and got within reach. Cache located in good condition, logged and re-hidden. Thanks for the canoeing adventure. Now back to shore and homeward.
A weekend end away with Crash and PPE saw us preparing for a Yak, tree and Goo weekend for some select targets and to escapes Sydney’s wet.
A late night Friday arrival, a good morning feed and then a 8.30am launch ( well for most of us) to first so the new Capital Paddle Molonglo River series.
From there it was a trip south east for another select target.
Clearly we hadn’t done enough paddling or it was the that maybe we didn’t want to bring the yaks down every trip so ignoring tired body parts launched again. The dam was certainly full as the spill way was going and a bit of breeze had come up with some small chop.
If this is a Long Island I’d hate to see a small one.
A dismount to find the cache and complete the signing duties. TFTC

After our adventures on Molongolo River we headed down this way for some paddling on the dam. What a beautiful waterway.

The plans for a caching excursion into the nation's capital had been in the pipeline for some time. The main focus was the Capital Paddle series on the Molonglo. Met up with bella at waggy and purplepeopleater at our accommodation last night and we were keen for an early start. Having completed our paddling by mid afternoon, there was time to choose some more adventures.
After a quick snack in Queanbeyan, we explored the area around White Walls. With yaks still on the roof, we figured we had enough time for more paddling on the nearby Googong Dam. This added 4 more high terrain caches to our day's tally.

What a fantastic start of a Googong Dam adventure. Worth buying inflatable kayaks for this! First stop and found with cjd79 & Dazzpete.
The [SS Aldi](https://coord.info/TB655ER) sails again after a significant period in 'dry dock'. A beautiful day on the dam in the company of Debmex and CJD79 started with this cache.
The paddle out here proved to be rather wayward for the [SS Aldi](https://coord.info/TB655ER) and we soon discovered we had lost a fin. So after signing the log we headed back to our launch point to make a search for it...

Found with [@binliner](http://coord.info/PR2XFEC) and [@coybear2000](http://coord.info/PR9547H). We waded across the shallows from Low Island and, once I had my shoes back on headed to GZ. BL already had CIH. Log signed and all replaced and we waded back and then walked across the spit that would normally be underwater and we caught up with GW and DC back near the car park. TFTC.
Out with [@trodectus](http://coord.info/PR8JTE0) and Binliner for a find on the islands with the land bridges accessible. This was the 3rd island find, after wading across T & B made the find after a short search. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Out for an island circuit with Trodectus and Coybear2000. With the dam at its present level, this was just a fairly short and bracing paddle from the nearest island. Confronted with the dreaded blackberries approaching GZ but fortunately the cache was easily accessible. All in good condition and TFTC Tankengine.
Our walk across the island bridges continued. Looking at photographs others have taken recently, it appears they might have had a dry walk to this island too. However today, wading was required to reach this island. 'Refreshing' experience. After drying the feet on the island it was onward to the cache, which was found quickly. Cache and log were good. Then back across the wet channel, shoes on again and we headed back to the 'mainland'. An enjoyable outing. Have a favourite tick. TFTC Tankengine.
A major highlight of my day! I was out doing maintainence on my Queen PT and was not intending to find any caches today but as I approached no. 17, I saw something incredible: I saw a landmass connecting the main land with the closest island! Then I saw a landmass between that island and this island!!! I was later to find out, that there was ALSO a landmass between the closest island and Rabbit Island!!!! It seems that I had visited Googong on a day where the water levels were so low that there was land access to the islands - as someone who does not have my own boat (let alone a car that can withstand roofracks), today lended the best opportunity for me to access these three caches. I steadily walked across the landmasses thinking they mind be boggy, but there were completely dry and way too easy to walk on - it was as if everything was going my way today! This cache, like the others, was an easy find; except it did take a while to navigate the blackberry bushes (classic TE cache things). The views from here were also spectacular - some photos of the view and incredible landmasses are attached. TFTC TE! If you feel as though I haven't found this ethically please feel free to ask me to delete my log because I would totally understand why; however I hope you can appreciate how memorable and unique my experience was today.
Today's target were the caches on the old islands . What better time then now when we can dry paddle all over the place - maybe not all over - but the bits we need to visit to make a clean sweep of the remaining caches in this location.
The islands were fascinating to explore and to see the contents lying, resting, growing on the old lake floor in some locations. It was clear that the recent overnight rains had assisted to raise water levels as the large mud cracks were still visible under the clear crisp waters. There were plenty of flowering plants and lots of noisy insects and birds around. While there was plenty of large animal poo around none were the animals themselves were sighted - maybe around lunch time they are all resting.
Great to see the eastern side of the lake that we had walked around last Thursday during a 6 hour adventure. The return walk from the car today was over 2 hours for 4.38kms for just a total ascent/descent of 110m. There was surprising a large number of boats out on the water today. With the overnight rains we noticed that water at the main boat ramp was just lapping it’s lowest point.
From Lapin Land we dry paddled to Long Island to locate this cache. Interestingly this is the only island that we saw blackberries. Maybe it’s because the blackberries were so thick in and around GZ. Quick and easy find at GZ. As for the other two island caches it too is in good condition.
From here we explored some of the island then headed down to a newly formed island on which the boat beacon is located. TFTC Tankengine.

Out at Googong today with my kayak to get some of the caches that are harder to access. After paddling to the island, it was a quick find after a short walk. Thanks Tankengine.
Since we brought the kayak to the Queanbeyan Mega and the weather was so perfect, Googong Dam was our next choice for cache finding. We packed some food and water and set off paddling in thongs... you can never tell what's on islands to greet your feet but in our experience it's usually not soft. We came to Long Land first and after squelching out in the mud the first thong malfunction occurred. Not too worried, we still had three good ones between us.
We could see where someone had been here recently and took the same route. It saved brushing past a lot of scratchy weeds and was heading straight to GZ. Pleased to find the first island cache so easily, we returned to the kayak and paddled off to C&2M Island. TFTC Tankengine.

Both Happy Uke and myself were down this way for a MEGGGA and on the recommendation of a friend ventured forth in our little boat and got this one.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Finalf29 and I spent the day in the Googong and what an enjoyable day it was. We paddled, walked (with a bit of huffing and puffing), met a lovely geocaching family Team737 and cached most of the Queen series with them... by the end of the day we were knackered, but still had a brilliant time doing it. Thanks to all the cache owners and thanks to Finalf29 and Team737 for wonderful company.
The water was like a mirror... so flat and clear... such a beautiful morning for a paddle. This was Finalf29's first island cache. Thanks

Always up for a paddle and ahomburg's inflatable one worked pretty well. But I think I overheated the air compressor in the process of pumping it??!!. So a half inflated yak was carried down to the water ignoring the sharp ground (should of worn shoes). Once in the Yak my significant muscle mass had the yak looking ok and then I was off. Perfect flat conditions on the water today. Once at the island edge the need for shoes was immediate. S#$t I could of easily had them on and off. So anyway it was slow going to GZ and some cursing along the way with selective foot placement. Found the cache it and admire the views. It was now off to the other cache nearby. The return walk was painful but worth it. In all about about 2 hrs on the water and probably quicker if you have shoes.

We were very fortunate in that having met GoingPlaces2 on arriving at the campground for the Clearwaters Mega yesterday, they very kindly offered to lend us their canoe so that we could come and search for the caches on this beautiful lake, and so first thing this morning we set off together to the boat ramp where our adventures began. This was the first cache we searched for, which was soon located once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for a great fun cache to get to. Greetings from Zimbabwe
It was time for Big Blue to float again! The water was a bit warmer than my last sail (returned 19 Jan) and the waves were a bit smaller, 12 mm rather than 12 m. A fabulous day on the water. We should do this more often .
With the profusion of blackberries here we decided to make this our lunch stop. We ate blackberries from the brambles and then polished off our brought snacks and refilled the container with more blackberries for later. The cache was an easy find. I like the cairn being created too. Thanks TE

I was out with the CO to pick up a cache he didn't have and to do a little maintenance run on some of his, this being one of them.
We had a great day and being out on the water was nice and cool. So much so that I didn't realise how hot the day was until we got out of the kayaks and onto the islands.
This island was a fun surprise for both of us. We got off at a little cove we were hoping was going to be more stable under our feet than the other islands with silt lined banks that act like quicksand, however this was only marginal in comparison. But we still got out ok and up on the island.
As we approached the top we were surprised to see all the blackberry bushes that had sprouted and starting covering the top. As we walked around the shore to GZ we were happy to see there were only a few fingers of blackberries clawing its way to the cache. Signed and replaced, we then decided to have a sit down under the only tree that seemed to have shade and have the packed lunch he had brought (yummy!).
We admired the pelicans and other birdlife around as we ate, then it was home time so we got back in our kayaks and headed for shore. Its a nice easy paddle to all the caches and I was surprised at how quicklly we finished them. The hardest part is getting in and out of the muddy shores. Thanks for a fun day and of course Tftc Tankengine!!!

#3169 On this windy weekend, Green-martian and I headed out in our kayaks. Heading back was not so easy. The water level was very low. A quick find. TFTC Tankengine.
The hunt was on today for those caches on islands in the Googong Dam area. We set off at a reasonably early start, hoping to achieve our goal before the wind got too much.
The canoe was launched from the boat ramp and the paddle started with little wind, so the going was fairly easy. We successfully found the three caches on our list and each one only involved a short walk on each island. For us this was a successful expedition, as we are really only new to this paddling activity.
Thankfully we had started early, as the wind was getting stronger and we were heading into it by the time we returned. That was harder paddling.
Many thanks to Tankengine for this cache placement and we were happy that we accepted the challenge of this activity.
Favourite point given for the fun cache.

Paddled along with goingplaces2 on the Googong Dam to pick up a couple of caches. Had a fun time. TFTC.
With GreyHams we ventured out toward goofing this morning, a targeted cache out on the islands would see me complete my DT grid and I was quite keen to fill that last spot but always like to head out for a paddle as well. Stopped off first to finish a multi that we had started collecting the information but needed to be completed, a puzzle that had 2 years of unlove and another puzzle that could do with a find as well.
The dam levels are very low, although I never have seen them high its clear where the water has been and its no where near that. Just means we had to walk the kayaks down the ramp a bit further but nothing so far from our entry point. All ready to set off, a nice sunny day with a slight head wind into our direction but calm enough. A little tricky to get in with the mud and slope but GreyHams was all over it and managed a memorable entry, all poise... guffaw, chuckle!
Still, not to let it get in the way soldier on he did, despite the broken now one sided paddle he channeled his inner Pocahontas and bravely paddled onward, into the head wind and towards our targeted cache of the day, certainly not easy going. The low water levels had us some distance away from the cache and exiting into sinking gloopy mud, it was something over the three island caches we had to be aware of, it looked good until feet down and meant searching the best location to get out of the kayaks.
All three caches were located easily just required longer walks to get to once out on the islands, and all in good condition. The wind settled soon after and ended up being a lovely day out on the water and an enjoyable day, of course! Thanks for the cache Tankengine, a memorable day... there are just some things you can not un see, chuckle!

Today, was a day where Aquilus1 and I came out here to get the hides ON Googong (or Goofing for auto correct software). Before we started that we cleaned up a few leftover caches, including this one, before heading out onto the water. Of course, hilarity ensued with me needing to learn a better kayak entry technique.... and I now owe Aquilus1 a paddle.
Not to be deterred, I continued on... Pocahontas style with a one ended paddle, if I knew the lyrics of the songs I would have been belting them out.
Last one on the water for us today.... back to the car!
Anyway, at the end of the day we had all caches found, one placed , and safely back at home with my blanket, which didnt get wet luckily enough due to last minute change of plans.

A beautiful day for a paddle on near mirror smooth water. A balmy 25º too. Cache good, Thanks. This one the first of three.
A very warm day for paddling to claim yet another smiley with Jersey04. TFTC !
I'm spreading my wings by paddling a bit, graduating from Point Hut Pond to Lake Tuggeranong to Lake Burley Griffin and, today, to Googong Dam. Marmaduke Rothschild holds my hand. Lovely morning on the water. TFTC TE.
A short paddle with JohnnyBoyACT this morning to the islands around Googong Dam. Great weather warm and no wind. TFTC.
Out for a paddle with KoukaLou. Thought we would grab some caches too. Grabbed a good handful of blackberries. Yum
Nothing like finding an excuse to get out the kayak and go for a little caching adventure. Trusty geobuddy StrangeTrousers had a lot of fun island hoping whilst I got some of the finds. What was very special apparat from the fud getting to GZ, first kayak on Googong, the view from the top - the blackberries. They were ripe and just a treat.
Thank you Tankengine for putting the caches out in places like this.

My last island for the day. I pulled up at the other end and walked down to the GZ. This is a lovely little island complete with its own beach, well sandy spot. I glad I didn’t make the decision to go through the guts as there were some blackberry bushes just waiting to grab unsuspecting cachers.
Enjoying a nice day fishing, nothing of note yet. Just a few small Redfin. Nice surprise that there was a cache here too! Thanks!
My first terrain 5 cache! Nice to visit caches that have not been visited in a while. Quiet day on the lake. Just me and the rangers. TFTC.
Took the kayaks out to googong dam to get the caches on the islands and do a bit of fishing with Jim1213. Tftc
What an exciting morning! Fox in Jox offered to lend myself and TikvaNZ a hobie that he has access to, so we (as well as ZQX) headed out early to Googong Dam with the hobie and an inflatable kayak in tow. Fox helped us set up the hobie then headed off on a run. Tikva and I suited ourselves up and headed off to the three islands in the middle of the dam to collect the three caches. We spent about an hour pedalling around in near perfect conditions, with the wind just picking up as we parked the hobie back at the boat ramp. We collected all three, while ZQX only had two to collect.
Last cache on the dam after pedalling over from Lapin Land with Tikva. A nice quick landing - on the wrong end of the isle, and then a very short tramp through the long grass to the cache, which Tikva found. It was only then I realised it was a TE cache - you must have bought a whole batch of these excellent containers!
Then a relaxed pedal/ paddle back to the boat ramp - the hobie was a great idea, and made the collection of the caches nice and easy. But love another T5 being added to my gradually expanding list.
Thanks Tankengine for the cache, Tikva and ZQX for the company, and Fox for the loan of the hobi - I gotta get me one of them! A fav point for the placement and the very enjoyable morning "messing around with boats" (points for the quote)

An early morning mini adventure on Googong Dam with ZQX and AngelG27, thanks to Fox in Jox for his provision of a Hobie. We chose the right time. The journey out to the islands was calm but just as we returned a tail breeze sprung up. An hour later and the mission would have been a lot harder. This was the third of the three island caches we visited. The cache was quickly found after a short stroll from the other end of the island. It was such a glorious morning to be on the lake and reminded me of past kayaking adventures. (Ruing not bringing my kayak across from NZ). TFTC.

Awesome day for a paddle and then dodged the spiders to find the GZ. Thanks TE!
ACTchil and I met Sitehound at the boat ramp with our Kayak and canoe to grab these 4 caches on the dam. This was our last one on the water to grab and we were quite surprised at how it didn't take as long as we thought, so off we went to the next island. We had to find a good spot to set the kayak and canoe and then a space in between the spider webs again. Another easy find and back to the ramp to find a couple more. tftc Tankengine
Darzee Di, Sitehound and I went out in our kayaks to find a few island caches out on Gouging Dam. great day out. tftc Tankengine
My fitness, or lack there of, was starting to show by the time Darzee Di, ACTchil and myself came to this island. The wind kept spinning me around and it was a right struggle to keep my kayak going straight ahead.
We quickly found the cache, SL and headed back to the boat ramp for lunch. I was surprised at how quickly we knocked off the 4 caches we did on the dam.
Thanks again for another good cache TE.

Found while touring the archipelago. This was easily the hardest one to get to, thanks to the distance to shore and the headwind that also whipped up some modest waves that were enough to make kayaking a little bit hairy today . TFTC Tankengine.
Ooops, I found this back on 31 May, and thought I had logged it ... but just noticed there is no smiley on the map ... and no log from me in here ... oops?!

As I was on my way down to Victoria this weekend, I decided to make a small detour to the ACT for a couple of chosen caches. I arrived early here and paddled out to the two nearby caches, and stopped by here on the return journey back to the car. By now what little wind there was had disappeared, and so it was smooth sailing for the rest of the trip. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly spotted. A great way to start a two week southern geocaching tour.

# 1764 Champs decided to go for a paddle this morning and collect some caches while he was at it. Wind picked up while he was out there making the return trip somewhat choppy.
Only took 10 minutes to paddle out here and thankfully the cache contained a pencil because only realised that the pen was still in the car once on the island.
Cache was found in the first place I looked.

#1370 1 of 2 today.
Found on a nice relaxing ACT public holiday Monday. A slow, easy paddle to recover from the exertions of yesterday was in order. Just these two caches planned for today. I launched from the public boat ramp with the rocks across it. Not sure what that's all about. Several other kayaks were out today & with good reason. Warm calm conditions, although one other kayaker told me the fish were on holidays too. I gently paddled out towards Long Island (I can't imagine why it is called that). I made good time & was there a lot sooner than I thought. Now just to find the cache. I half expected the island to be covered with nesting birds, but I saw nothing like that. I beached the craft & once I was happy it would not float away I made my way to gz for a quick find.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine.

Came prepared for everything today, so the canoe was loaded in the car as well.Set off from the boatramp and thought I was in for a long paddle, but only 10 minutes later I was at shore again. Tricky to find a good landing spot (if you don't want to get wet). Did a little discovery tour around the island and then got back to the canoe for the next leg. Great little adventure!

Found 10:24 am with LuckyL10n. We had decided to go out today and grab the water bound caches at Googong as a minimum. I took my double kayak and we headed out from the boat ramp. Before setting off I parked the car up at the top car park after bring warned rangers fined people off parking near the boat ramp. After parking the ranger showed up but he was a stand in and didn't really care and said he didn't have the equipment with him. We paddled out to the island and it took only a short time to find the cache although LuckyL10n was doing it barefoot. I was wearing my crocs. The log was signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache.
#3137 - 10:25; After breakfast with the stars in Kingston, MrDamage and I headed off to Googong for a paddle out to a few caches which are girt by sea. Unloaded the kayak at the boat ramp before MrD did the right thing and took the geomobile up to the carpark, following a warning about parking from some fellow cachers at breakfast. As he was headed back down, we encountered one of the rangers, who didn't seem too concerned about the 'No Parking' signs as long as people didn't block others in. It would seem from our earlier warning that not all of the rangers are so accommodating. It was then out onto the water and this was our first stop. Followed a bit of a geotrail to GZ for a quick find. This made a nice milestone for my 100th Tankengine find and I must say, apart from the paddle, was quite a bit easier to locate than some of the others. TFTC Tankengine
The distance flies over the water when you're busy taking in the scenery... Then again, maybe that headwind that "sprang up" for the return journey was there all along?
An absolutely perfect day - warm, clear water to paddle in and rewarded by loads of (conveniently co-located) juicy blackberries on finding the cache!
TFTC Tankengine - that was fun

So a big day planned to clear the area of caches focusing on the Queen Themed caches and do a bit of island hoping on my board to grab those further out. Had all the intentions to grab as many as I could on the foreshore utilizing my paddle board and then continue with the rest by foot, that WAS the plan. As soon as I got my board into the water the wind started to pick up which was fine heading downwind but quite a struggle to head back. Upon return to the car park I realised that the morning paddle had taken it out of me, which is a good thing I guess as it gave me a reason to head back here at a later stage.
This one was a bit tricky. My you-beaut GPS was telling me it was in a particular location and looking at the site, was convinced that is where it would be. However a little un-nerving due to the copious spiders and webs in the area (I'm not a fan!!). I then looked at the clue just to make sure and yep, still think I'm looking at the right spot but nothing could be found. I then decided to try it with my phone GPS which directed me to a completely different part of the area and , funny enough there it was ?!?!?!
At the end of the day the cache was found and the log signed.
Another good cache by Tank engine.

Out to christen the new toy and this was my first stop. No problems getting here....I think the tail wind helped...which could mean trouble for the return trip, but that's a problem for a little later.
Arrived/beached myself at a good spot and the followed the trail to GZ....a quick look in the area and the cache was safely in hand. Log signed, cache replaced and then back to the kayak, managing to get in without tipping it......and it was off to the next one.
Thanks TE....agree....not a long island at all.

We headed out early with mnjontour this morning for a bit of a paddle on Googong and to collect this trio of Tankengine caches (plus maybe a bonus one or two) . The weather was perfect and the area was surprising quiet. The kayaks were soon in the water and the all important food and water was loading onto the "supply Kayak" and we headed off. The mnjontour team decided to tackle the Queen power trail while we were out on the water. The plan route was decided and after a few calibration strokes we were off towards Long Island
Was a very enjoyable paddle out and we soon made land on this little island and first one for our jouney today. We spotted a nice cacher trail to GZ where Miss Stormcatcher made the find and distrubed a couple of large cockroaches living under the cache. Names were on the log at 9:19 and we headed back to the "ships" . We should have brought a bottle of Zero as we could have been responsible for the eradication of blackberries from these lands, but I'm sure the CO wouldn't want that !
Thanks Tankengine for places these caches, was a lot of fun and a great day out.

A breezy morning was ideal to give the geokayak a much needed wash. Years of dust were washed away by the waves. Thats 99 and counting. TFTC
The blackberries got me! I was only in shorts and t-shirt because the weather was so perfect, so I had little protection. And it turns out I didn't need to go near the blackberries in the first place. A cache guardian scurried away as I uncovered the prize.
Saw some green eggs in a little nest on this cay.
The paddle out and back was easy because there was zero wind the whole time. I was keen to get the other two nearby but my companions wanted to get back. Next time!

Tks TE!

We hadn't taken the canoe with three kids in it before, and we decided that today was the day to try a solution. We had planned it all week, and on the morning the rain started. It was only light, and a little windy, so we just crossed our fingers, got the gear ready and headed out to Googong. It was still raining a bit when we arrived, but it was clearing... So we had an early lunch, and by the end of it the sky had cleared into a nice day. The kids loved being in the boats for a couple of hours, and they all enjoyed a turn in the 1 person inflatable we were towing behind the canoe and practising rowing with the oars. It was fun parking on each island and having a wander around. Thanks for placing the caches here!!
We got the canoe out and brought an inflatable boat and set off. it would have looked odd, a family of five off canoeing from island to island, four in the canoe and towing a boat behind us! I have to say this was such a great trip and if we can do it with a 2yr old anyone can!!! Thank you Tankengine this was such a great series!!!!!! loved it!!!
7651. [green]After doing the COs land based caches in the area with Mrs Winglen I swore I would come back and explore a bit more on the water. After doing that it was back to the business at hand and to pick up 3 caches at the end of a 11.8km paddle. I parked at the other end of the island to the cache as there was a better landing spot. I last came here when the water level was much lower. [/green]

Out with Captain Tomato today and due to the temperature we thought we would do some water caches. After a quick drop into kmart to grab a $15 inflatable rowing boat we made our way out to here. After a short bike ride from the carpark. We chained up the bikes and pumped up the boats. I couldnt manger to work out how to paddle with two paddles but I got there. Once at the island the cache was quickly founded. Always a laugh grabbing caches like this TFTC
Mr Roo and I had a lot of fun doing this cache and the other nearby water caches. Had to keep a good lookout for submerged snags that might puncture the boat and severely hamper our onward journey, but all was well and we really enjoyed the challenge. TFTC
Awesome morning at googong and a awesome adventure. Been doing some water geo's
after the inflatable boat gathering dust in the shed was exhumed. Water was very calm for
this trip and thanks to clue had cache in hand shortly after:-) Cheers.

Baja15 and I weren't sure what we were going to do today, so suggestion came up and why not go and to the caches at Googong dam! Why not, packed the kayak and bikes and here we come. Perfect day, there were several other fisher men launching their kayaks, the slight breeze was welcoming and hoping that the weather didn't change. A short paddle and we were at GZ, that wasn't too and duties done, off to the next one. TFTC Tankengine
Shared this adventure with J+J.au today on a beautiful spring day. Enjoyed the paddle around the dam and found the three island caches well hidden within this scenic location. Thanks tankengine for the challenge and thanks for the company 'J'. SLTN..TFTC
2431. Well I have nothing more to add really. A nice *FTF* with a great crew. Just a shame the weather wasn't as great.
Thanks TE for another great adventure.

After seeing the opportunity still existed to collect some different first to finds, a plan was hatched with boot65 to meet at the gate at the wee hours of 7.30am and it was suggested that others may wish to join this merry adventure. Rapidlywild decided to take up this offer and tagged along. So FFLL no 1 decided to take a well deserved day off to spend a productive day caching. The crew met up and headed off to 'Gilligan's Island', the tune playing in FFLL no 1 head along the way. The early morning breeze kept the temps down and so it was a chilly adventure for the skipper and his female crew. Arrived to be greeted with a blank log, so it was worth the early morning outing for a joint *FTF* with boot65 & Rapidlywild. TFTC and the adventure Tankengine. Thanks for supplying the watercraft again boot65 and thanks for the all the crew for the company.
Found with boot65 and FurfacesLL for a Joint *FTF* at 0823
Last night I recieved a text message from FurfacesLL "What time are you working tomorrow?". Well this was the start of the plans for me. FurfacesLL asked if I felt like hitting the 3 Googong islands caches for an attempt at FTF. COUNT ME IN was the response.
So after some family car issues this morning, I managed to get out to the boat push off location at around 8am this morning. The air was nice and chilly however we had a task at hand.
FurfacesLL #1 went into the boat, I went into the boat then boot65 followed. FurfacesLL #2 couldnt join us on this one as she was working. Off we went on the Googong Dam, faces could definately feel those cold winds blowing across them.
The trip didnt take too long and we were all discussing caching ideas and experiences. We headed in the direction of Low Land to begin with then changed bearings to Long Land as it was the closest to the boat ramp.
We soon approached the island and boot65 found an appropriate location to bank the boat. We wandered onto the island and made the find rather quickly. Now it was time to check the log book.
Opened the book to a nice crisp blank log book. WOOT WOOT we got the FTF on this one. Log book signed and cache returned to orignal hiding location.
It was now time to head over to Low Land to claim the next FTF.
Thanks for the experience Tankengine, thanks to boot65 for the boat and driving and thanks FurfacesLL for the invite to come along. I enjoyed it for sure
