We are visiting from Tauranga and what better way to explore Timaru on our bikes? Great trails, busy today too. Cache is all good. TFTC
#23186. We parked on Conoor Road, and were soon at GZ. Pleased the terrain rating was accurate (I wasn't keen on climbing down under the bridge; thankfully that wasn't necessary). TFTC.
It's Labour Day, and the last day of our long weekend visit to Timaru, so StreetWalkerNZ and I will look for a few more caches in the area before heading back to Christchurch. I can't believe that this cache was hidden 10 years ago and yet we have only just got round to looking for it! SW went on ahead and he found the cache just as I caught up with him. TFTC.
Said hi to the local horse. The book is wet and might need a replacement. The spot is really good.
Great find! The boys were quick to scout out this one and loved that it included swaps!
Leonie, Pat, Bella, Liam and Libby Gresham found this 25th July 2021. An easy find
Great wee hide, was on the side of the path for all to see so I replaced it in the right place so muggles don't find!
That's a real good place for a cache. There were lots of muglars on bikes and walking therefor a long search was not possible. thanks to the hint it was a quick find.
Thank you for the extra motivation to walk this beautiful path besides the creek!

Could easily hide from muggle cyclists
Not so easy to hide from horses but guess they won't talk.

Returned today to the creek area today to try and find the caches along the walkway, this was the only one Geo Jessie and I managed to find. It was in the open, so after signing returned it 'under'. Not sure why we couldn't find the others, but we tried hard, GPS has us wandering all over the place. Will have to come back another day and try again.
Upon returning to the creek with Geomum to pick up a few more caches - this was the only one we could find. Will hopefully return to get the rest of these!

Between Oamaru and Rakaia we had four major stops to find caches. The first stop was at the picknick area by Pukeuri, where we found two caches with some historical aspects, then we stopped at the Glenavy Reserve walkway at Waitaki river bridge.
We moved on to Timaru and did some caches from the Saltwater creek walkway where we met Canadian geocachers and had a nice chat and our last geocaching stop was at Ashbury for a part of the Lake Hood trail.
During this series we met a Canadian geocachers team who were going in the opposite direction.
We had a nice chat on geocaching and went on.

I was intending to have an enjoyable cyclocache ride up the Salt Water Creek Walkway to Centennial Park. Once at GZ I fortunately decided to check previous logs. What, this one is possibly in place? Sure enough, it was.
Out for a stroll. nice wee walkway perfect place for a cache and a walk. found with rayzr2 who had previously found and chiko1 tftc
Found original cache right where it should be ?? Combined both caches into one at the far end of bridge from start
Couldn't find it at first but went back after finding the third cache and found it. TFTC
Enjoying this South Island trip and had a great time touring the area and collecting caches taking us to some remote locations with tmann421.
