Called past to check this one as I was sure it needed maintenance however I can find nothing in the logs about that. The log book was swimming in its baggie, so we dried the cache and contents and left a new log book in a fresh plastic bag. All good now.

Got our numbers a bit wrong but knew we were close from the previous logs so freestyled and found it. Thankyou

Heading to Bright today, I stopped at a number of caches to break my journey. Once I had the answers, it was off to GZ for the find. I could see it, but wondered how to retrieve it. Then I noticed something and the cache was mine. Many thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

Sir_spectre and I had hoped to join in the fun of the Mega in Canberra but unfortunately life got in the way so we planned a trip for a few weeks later. We might have missed all the great events and catching up with geocaching friends from far and wide but at least we got to find lots of great caches still.Any cache that needed some love got it, if possible. Thanks

This is a new vic LGA for me. Just grabbing a few finds.. Stopped again completed this multi. First multi in vic for the holiday. quick findat gz.Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.

We are on our way to the Canberra mega, taking our time, doing some caching and being tourists as we go. It feels strange not to be bringing our caravan with us, the freedom of not having to be aware of where we can park or if the street we have just turned into is going to big enough to turn the caravan around in. All the caches we have found are in good condition. SL TFTC

TFTC. While spending some time at my second home in Violet Town, my partner and I came across this cache.Beautiful little townUse way points lol.Great cache.

In Violet Town today before I head off and do the North East Silo tour. I like cemetery caches and this was a great little one with lots of history. I gathered the required information and headed for GZ. It kind of looks like a headstone too I guess. I retrieved the container which had hundreds of insects protecting it, but I managed to get it back successfully and off to my next adventure. TFTC

On our road trip (and back) to visit the kids and grandkid for Christmas. We made a few stops along the way to grab the occasional prize. This was one of those stops at a little town we have visited a few times before to collect bits of info.TNLNSLTFTC BettyBoo3747 Smile

It has taken me the best part of 10 years to do your cache here. Quite often stop in lovely violet town for lunch or a coffee.Anyway off to the cemetery where a funeral was in progress. Discreet information gathering and all quiet at gz where the neat hide was found.A favourite point for the experience..

Mingan Sunday trip loved this cache. Love old cemeteries, it's sad how many young children passed in those days. Thank you it was interesting

Dear little Violet. Well that took me way longer than expected. GZ well that had me stumped. Read some previous finds & soon had cache in hands! 641st find! TFTC

I've had most of the coordinates for this one in 2upoj for a little while and figured I'd finish it off today if I could. With the final location keyed in, I was soon at GZ where the nicely hidden stash presented quite quickly at 13:10 to open its account for **2023**.

All worthy of a fave point methinks. Big Grin

TNLNSL, although our Happy New Year to the cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. BettyBoo3747.

After much planning and waiting, the time had come to head south for a few days to attend the Whittlesea Mega.
So, with the car packed, the convoy consisting of us and Rapidlywild hit the road. Our plans for the weekend included grabbing this series as well as others around the area.
The Victorian weather was interesting, definitely agree with the four seasons in a day, but it didn’t dampen our plans too much.

Day 4 of our adventures and today we headed back into Whittlesea to attend The Day After Whittlesea - Market Day before heading home back to reality and work.
Time for a slow journey home picking up caches that had been published since we last ventured this way. All caches stamped with the trusty FFLL and RWLD stamp.

Thanks for the hide BettyBoo3747

21-Nov-22
We have been planning our Whittlesea Mega trip for quite a while now, and then it was postponed, so new plans were made. It was finally time to make our way down with a convoy of myself and the FFLL ladies. We had a big weekend around Whittlesea with the ever-changing weather, fighting some hay fever, and finding a range of cache types. We also managed to catch up with a few cachers we had not seen for a while. We had a great time away, so thanks to all the COs and event hosts. Apologies in advance for the generic logs across the weekend finds, it in no way devalues any of the hides, we just have a lot of logs to write up.

Last day for us picking up a few caches, attending the markets before getting on the road back to Canberra. We collected a few caches along the way but we were all pretty worn out after a big weekend. This multi has been haunting me for years as it sits so close to the highway but its not on the highway. Everytime we head south for something, I always say "I need to stop and get that, on the way home maybe" but it never happened. This time I asked the FFLL ladies if we could stop and get this one done... sure thing Smile Worked out the coordinate requirements and FFLL#1 made the find, log stamped with our FFLL & RWLD stamp.

Many thanks to all the COs (including the event hosts) and thanks to the FFLL ladies for another funfilled weekend away.

After i got a couple of good freight trains to video i was all chuffed as so i decided to do this Multi with some time still left.

A nice li'l walk around this sodden cemetery... squishy underfoot here Big Grin
The numbers were all gathered. After going back and studying the answer for 'F' twice, i still got a number that would have had me 14.2km away so i assumed it was the one after it and it was Cache In Hand at GZ. A clever way to access the cache Big Grin was performed and i was signing the log at 16:19 on Tuesday 2 August 2022.

The cache and contents are fine and dry.

Finally on our way to Wangaratta for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.
Another clever placement. f.P.

28-Apr-22
I’m having this week off as others at work had the Easter break off so it was my turn and another trip up North to Mildura was planned.
I left Melbourne nice and early on Friday to get a few caches in on the way up to Culgoa.
My main aim of the weekend at Mildura was to finish the Turtle series and to start the Paddle Steamer series so all good on those 2.
So after a great 3 days in Mildura then an over night stop in Boort and then Euroa time to head to Marysville for the weekend to catch up with friends.
I was not taking the most direct route as I wanted to drive through some old towns that are now only dots on the map and I want to take the back roads as well.
7 hours to do what is a 312 kms direct trip then 6 hours to do 211km direct trip I really must be taking the round about way.
Another town I remember travelling through on some of our family holidays before it was bypassed.
Made my way to the cemetery, found little Violet’s resting place and made my way around to collect what was required.
I messed up one of the numbers as GZ could not there there so redid my calculations and soon had what was required.
A nice country town cemetery to have a wander around.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 TFTC.

Finally... a Mega we can attend! So Spiffy- and I headed off to Wangaratta. A plethora of caches to choose from so we targeted a few, but really just happy to get out and about. Cache in good condition.

Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the placement and fun.

16-Jan-22
Got some of the numbers on the way up to the Mega but as a rather large storm was approaching, decided to abort and finish it on the way home. Had to google one of the questions as we could not find the grave. Maybe tired eyes. On the way home, made a quick find. Thanks BettyBoo 3747 a fave of ourse

Found at 1:06 pm.
Well, the Mega time has come and we aren't locked down so today was the day to get 14 different types of cache. Today was our final day to find a couple of local caches and then start heading home with a fair few stops along the way.
We got carried away here and did a few in Violet Town. Nice easy find here in the end.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

16-Jan-22
Started this on the way to the Mega and completed it at the Mega. Then, on the return home discovered the clever hide. The walk around the cemetery was enjoyable except for the storm brewing in the distance. It hit just as we decided to abort and get away from the lightning.
The storm managed to stop us for a while on the highway. Once the downpour lessened we headed off and arrived safely in Wang.
Thanks for the memorable cache here BettyBoo3747

Heading north to Wangaratta to attend our first Mega! Having just watched several episodes of “Back Roads” of which Violet Town was one, we decided to pull in here and take a look around. I can never resist a cemetery cache as I always find them more interesting than ghoulish. I think we found at least 4 ‘Violets’ as we traversed the rows of headstones as we searched for our clues. I say search because did I think to look for waypoints? No, I’m a complete amateur at times, and found myself cursing the CO as to why I’d want to be stumbling blindly around the cemetery looking for names? It still didn’t occur to me to check for waypoints!

So the lesson here players, is CHECK FOR WAYPOINTS. It makes for a much smoother and enjoyable experience. I’m sorry BettyBoo for any cursory mumbles and grumbles; I really did enjoy the cache and the hide in the end!! Thanks for bringing us to this little cemetery, and yes, RIP litttle Violet!!

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC BettyBoo3747

spent a drizzly but warm summer's morning in Violet Town and toured the cemetery to find the answers to this one. The GZ was spookier than the cemetery with lots of bugs and insects as we retrieved the box to sign! TFTC

12-Nov-21
We stopped in Violet Town on our way through to Wangaratta. We never cancelled our booking for the cancelled Mega event which was scheduled for this weekend.
The forecast is for 4 days of rain with winds, and flooding predicted for Gippsland and The North East. Just as well the Mega Event has been postponed till January next Year.
We frequently drive up and down the Hume Freeway past these 2 multis remaining on our geocaching Map, seemingly too busy to stop. Well today we have timel
We started to meander around the cemetery in very fine misty rain which ramped up by the time we got the final.
The final was a surprise as there was a fat long dead snake below the cache. Surface to say that the maggots were doing their job.
This didn’t interfere with our access to the cache.
We don’t mind exploring cemeterys, it was just a shame about the rain and the poor old snake.

Thank you BettyBoo3747, this is a great cache. I wandered about collecting the clues, then when I came to the last waypoint I thought - oh they (CO) can't be bothered finding more graves, lets just get this done. When I arrived at the last grave and realised the tragedy that had become this family my opinion changed. Thanks for taking me here and sharing Violet Town's history. Once the final co-ords were known - a quick walk to GZ - but to my horror - spiders galore! BettyBoo3747 had calculated that this might happen, and the solution is perfect Thanks!

With the long weekend in Vic it meant more caching time so plans were mate with Omegaman1971 to head to North East Victoria, most of our effort was spent in Wangaratta with a trip to Beetchworth, out to Gtreta to do the NKH series and a small trip up to Cowra NSW, We had a great time finding caches, learning history, exploring the area and catching up with mates.

This is one of the caches we found on our travels. more history to learn at this one.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

On our way to Rushworth yesterday. Did not log the three I did, as we had no reception at the campsite. This multi did not disappoint. It was interesting walking around gathering the info needed. Thanks to BB for providing and maintaining this cache.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.

Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.

Multis are usually not my thing, so it wasn't surprising to me to find a lot in my found database that hadn't been logged.

Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

Thanks BettyBoo3747 (F=18497 H=498) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

We are slowly wending our way back to metro Melbourne after a brief mini break in Yarrawonga with friends in geocaching whom we have missed during lockdown. On the way home we kept following BeckNmonts off the main road so she could pick up some multis she has had her eye on....something to do with a challenge...and more eyes being better than one pair and we had nowhere better to be...or maybe we were trying to avoid going home! Anyway...poor Violet and William & Mary....these kinds of inscriptions always break your heart!

09-Dec-20
Continuing our trip home, another detour into violet Town was needed for a few multis. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them, everybody likes a cemetery cache! Thanks for placing the cache BettyBoo3747 and for making it a multi

TFTC. It was a quick trip up to Albury yesterday for an appointment and an overnight stay with friends. We had all day today to get back to Maryborough. We left Albury at around 10am and the four hour trip back took us about 9 hours. We did stop a couple of times for they odd (well 17) cache and a break to eat and play tourist. A great day with many caches and interesting spots. We called into Violet Town specifically to have a bite to eat. While here we may as well attempt a multi or two to edge toward a challenge. A nice walk around the cemetery.

Searched the whole cemetery (multiple times) and still couldn't find one of the clues so decided to wing it with inaccurate info. Success anyway.
There were so many young deaths back a century ago its sad.

Heading up the highway once more in readiness for a great weekend caching up north with anikano with plenty of presolved puzzles to pick up and our ultimate aim the St Arnaud Mega, 5 months lead up event in Wangaratta.
Another well executed BettyBoo cemetery multi, which are always interesting if not sad, but the history we glean from cemetery caches is always appreciated.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the multi cache.

Heading to Ballarat and this was the first stop. Looked at this one a number of times and decided today was the day to finally get it. Great cache

14-May-17
Our second multi for the day and a pretty straight forward one with only 1 question being a bit iffy for us. This gave us 2 GZ possibilities but the one we opted to check first proved to be the right one.
Had some issues with retrieving the container until the obvious was spotted.
Unlike the other cemetery we visited caching today this one was empty. Guess the graves in the section we were caching in were too old to be getting 'Mother's Day' visitors. Thanks.

29-Jan-17
Suscoe was heading home today and so we got an early start to fit a few caches into our travels.
It promised to be a very hot day until we crossed the dividing range south of Seymour and it proved to be right. The temperature read up to 37 degrees during the day and dropped to around 27 when we got to the Ring Road in Melbourne.

The sunshine was bright and the traffic was constant and at times very heavy.
We stopped in a range of spots and enjoyed the scenery, the caches and the little towns where we passed through.

Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for this cache.
It was pretty hot out here today.
Infact it was the hottest part of the day and almost no wind, 37 degrees as we wandered around.
Little Voilet is a sad story and we thank you for bringing us here to see some of this local history.

Cache is back in action, all dry, plus we dropped *Drop Bear* TB. Come git!

03-Oct-16
We teamed up with the local granny novo muggles to assemble *supreme team novo* today to tackle this multi. We arrived at the cemetery to find some out-of-towners looking for the grave of a recent deceased as they were apparently unable to make the funeral. The local novos made a quick call to the family #smalltown and were able to point these folks to the right spot. Caching saves the day again lol.

At GZ we experienced a fantastic but very wet hide and sure enough the container was badly waterlogged after that much rain that granny novos claim even they have never seen it so wet here. We decided to take it all home to dry out as we are just a few hundred meters away. Hope you don't mind BettyBoo3747 we will replace before day's end and log a note once the work is done. Thanks for the local VT cache and I think we may have converted the granny muggles, we'll see!

Did this one back a week or two. Been a bit slow with my my log. Tried to get around it using only my phone which was more than difficult, then without having all the answers my offsider started hunting likely spots and lo and behold, found it. Was very wet as the last log testifies but apparently that has been fixed.
Took home a few freesias from here which smelt lovely in the truck and Jen is currently trying to propagate one of them which had a partial bulb attached.
Thanks BB

I love cemetery multis. So tragic a tale some tombs read. How young they married and gave birth then died equally as young. Enjoyed it thoroughly tftc and adventure

21-Jul-16
When we come this way we always try to include a cemetery multi or two as the CO always takes us to interesting places and on an interesting walk. This was no exception. Data collection was straightforward. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a very well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for another very enjoyable caching experience.

Found with the geo-crew during the early stages of a Melbourne to Sydney drive. This cache has been on the list to do for the last couple of HUme Highway trips and today was the day. Geo-son and I collected the data and we were glad that the intermediate waypoints were given otherwise it would have been a mighty long search.

A well hidden cache awaited us a GZ and we grabbed the TB to travel with us for a week or two. Many thanks BettyBoo3747, a favourite point from us.

Found by Mary & David, in convoy with The Coffees, at 1530. Another FP before Mary even got out of the car. Sheer bliss for her to be able to wander around and admire so much - the craft of the stone mason, the message in the carved symbols, and the social history in the inscriptions. Dear little Violet didn't even have a surname but is still remembered by family visitors. Pretty sure that it is lily of the valley carved on the cross, indicating purity. Our thanks to BettyBoo3747.

Drove down to check on this cache as a cacher said he couldn't retrieve it but put a "Found" log on it. The log has been deleted by me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cache or its ability to be retrieved. Today I cleaned out some rubbish, added a packet of envelopes, a pathtag and some other swag.

I don't have much luck with cemetery multis, must be the way I think or just get too distracted reading all the unnecessary headstones. I thought at one stage I was going to become a resident when a rabbit bolted from under a broken grave cover. Adrenalin really does get the heart beating!
So, alas, along with Wangaratta, this is another one to be attempted again

Still chasing windmills so I'm in the area. Some good old graves. Well maintained. Usually I can't read the old ones but even 120 year old ones seem in good nick. Tftc

Found on the trip back home. Had no problems navigating to each WP and collecting the required numbers. Soon located GZ and found the cache. Thanks for a great multi.

Another great cemetery cache. Some lovely old gravestones here, and lots of family plots that if I had the time would spend looking and weaving old family histories. A slight misreading of the numbers I'd written down had us in a paddock for GZ, and so we doubled back and a quick find was made. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

We always love walking through these littler out of the way cemeteries, and this one was very close to me, having a "little Violet" of my own.
We took our time walking around and read many of the stones along the way. At GZ we found the cache in good order.
