Had a bit of time today waiting to pick up my wife, so headed down to the park to visit this location. Found a park and then spent a relaxed time walking around gathering information, now sent to CO. Thanks for the cache JordsAU! best wishes, Wal
Spending a week of the school holidays with my aunt, we had to include some caching and at this GZ, an educational lesson that gave me a souvenir. Answers sent by mizmaz for both of us.
Working on numbers as I approach my next milestone (with a specific cache and rough date in mind), spending a week of the school holidays with my nephew provided a few opportunities plus an earthcache for this weekends souvenir. Answers sent on behalf of myself and T-rex 11.
A very interesting earth cache, took a while to answer all the questions. TFTC
Visited the memorial park on Sunday. Worked out my answers online and submitted today. Can now log my find on the shortest day of the year, to get the geocaching Solstice souvenir. 229 finds to date, this being my second Earthcache. Thank you JordsAU.
Whilst geocaching with geospouse Graubunden one sunny Sunday (yesterday), we recorded our observations here. However we couldn't log a find until we've computed some answers to submit for this Earthcache. Hence I can fulfil my daily streak requirement today. So far, 290 days in a row. Coming from Canberra Mega a few months ago, one is reminded by the reviewers and lackeys that Earthcaches could be simplified in the long run. Only need to show that each geocacher learnt something new. That's it! Not multiple Qs with long essayed answers, as geocaching is meant to be a fun adventure. Still I have to do 7 more Earthcaches to meet another cache's challenge of a minimum EC finds. TFTEC, JordsAU
Thankyou for showing me this memorial. It is certainly worth seeing. Very origanal. TFTC.
Answers sent to CO. Hope they're correct. Lovely walk thru the park. I worked locally and never seemed to have the time to walk down here. No longer work locally so it was a pilgrimage of sorts to return and find this. Thank you for bringing me back here.
Interesting display of rocks. I had to work for this one . Lots of answers. The weather was mixed today, but while here it was sunny and hot. I have messaged my answers. Merry Christmas, and TFTC JordsAU.
Out today with the boys looking for an Earthcache souvenir. Had intended on visiting Macquarie Uni but the Metro was out so headed to Meadowbank for this one. A great alternative, excellent playground and we really enjoyed the Earthcache memorial and country pillars. Boys did a great job of counting over me, requiring recounting a few time and probably still have it wrong lol. Answers sent to CO. Thanks for sharing this location JordsAU #2127
I have sent my answers. Bdp and I really enjoyed our time here. She is from Canada and she told me all about the granite line, where it is and what it is. Thanks for the Earthcache.
Nice one this morning. We walked up and down multiple times counting and inspecting each pillar. Lots of information to gather which has been sent off to the CO.
Thanks for the education and for brining us here. We attempted to do this last evening but we quickly realized we would run out of daylight so opted for the morning. A much better choice.

On International Earthcache day there is an Earth Cache to be found. This was the closest unfound on for me, 30km from home. Luckily the forecasted deluge had not yet arrived in Meadowbank so I had a nice stroll around the park, inspecting the different monument and reading the informative placques.
All answers were found and submitted to the CO.
Thanks JordsAU for the Earthcache.

A beautiful location and a wonderful tribute to some of the brave young men who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. As parents I wish we could have prevented it
Found It!
Quite a collection of rocks here. After a bit of wandering around I had collected all the answers which I have sent to the CO.

I really enjoyed the visit to this earthcache. What an interesting memorial and lovely way to connect with the other countries involved in the various campaigns. It is one of those displays that many people would not stop to notice. Thanks for bringing me here and for the geology lesson. Answers have been sent to the CO.

great little adventure this morning at Meadowbank.
We were saddened to think we had been involved in so many wars but found this a very fitting and different Memorial.

TFTC! Been here before back in 2019 and I come to Sydney every year. But I just moved to AU a week ago and my friend surprised me with Premium so what a gem! This is my first Premium cache!
This was a much needed break from being at home! Never knew this memorial was here even though I've walked/rode past here so many times. Thanks
Visited the Ryde area this morning to collect information for several earthcaches before we headed north to Berowra for some targetted caches. Didn't know this memorial was here - enjoyed our walk along the river. Information collected and answers have been messaged to the CO. Thanks JordsAU for the earthcache.

In between work standby, SES callouts and a need for some caching I managed to get up to Sydney today with the intent of getting to the celebration event. Along the way I had a few caches in mind but as usual they consumed more of my time than expected so I only bagged a handful of finds.
An interesting location with lots to see and take in, walked up and down the pathway a few times collecting the data. Answers sent to CO.

TFTC! I've never done an Earth Cache before and enjoyed it a lot. Sending my answers in is a bit nerve-wracking, reminds me of high school but the experience of wandering around looking at everything was so fun
International Geocaching Day brings me here to grab the weekend souvenior. Thanks JordsAU for the cache here.
With a sea of yellow smiley faces on this section of my geomap I never notice this Earthcache symbol, until I used the filters and there it was.
Until I started my carer job I used to walk my dog around the river walk through Meadowbank every couple of weeks. That was before Geocaching days but not before the Meadowbank Memorial Park's Remembrance Walk was installed, so I have actually looked at the monuments before but not with any specific geological perspective, more a historical bent.
Well I haven't been here for years and years so this morning I leashed up geodog and we headed here for our geology lesson and a walk along the river.
Things have changed a lot since I was last here!
The river/land edge has been stabilised, the fences separating the walk from the fields have been removed, there's exercise stations all along the track and seats too.
There used to be lots of birds here and today there were basically none, but maybe that's the season and was there an anchor in the bay not far from the bridge??
Thanks, JordsAU for bringing me back here and showing me this historical spot in a different light. Its a great walk. Geodog and I will be back!

I needed to drop my son off at school very early, so decided to find a cache rather than go straight to work. I caught the train down to Meadowbank and then walked down to GZ. It was drizzling, which was fine for me and also kept the muggles away. I appreciated the feature, and the effort that has gone into it, so thank you for bringing me here! Afterwards I went to get the details of the nearby multi, although didn't go for the find as it was a bit too far away. I had intended to catch the ferry into the city, but decided it would take too long so got back onto the train. TFTEC

A walk in Kosciusko National Park was planned many months ago for the first week of January, before the now infamous fires were but a spark. As Christmas came and went, and the fires grew worse, I was not aware that fires were also starting in Kosi National Park. A day before we were to fly out the park was closed for a few days due to nearby fires, so with the chance of still going, we headed to Sydney. We waited and waited for the warnings to clear, but sadly this was not to be, and in fact, it has gotten much worse and the closures continued. We were not going to Kosi . While this was an inconvenience for us, our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much worse than us in this devastating event.
We decided to stay around Sydney and Newcastle for the week, and salvage as much as we could of our holiday. We had some great walks, cliff faces, beaches, swims and rocky crags. It was a fantastic time all around. Thanks to all the CO’s for the work they have put into these caches.
Group answers were sent for the Bromance (Seffnjarah. CrookedPete, JeznDez and myself). Thanks for the cache

Over the the past few years, the Bromance (comprising CrookedPete, Seffnjarah, SwellerFungus and most recently JezNDez) have enjoyed road trips, bushwalking, overnight hikes, mountain climbing, kayaking and other adventures in search of some elusive caches. The first planned adventure for the brand new decade was a multi day hike in Kosciusko National Park bagging Australia's highest dozen peaks and all nearby caches.
Enroute to our adventure, Australia's bush fire crisis unfolded, and with the Kosciusko region on fire and closed, our plans gradually morphed to a caching road trip back to Queensland, collecting unusual and rarer caches along the way.
Along our travels we Cito any recyclable containers we come across. With our coffers overflowing, we stopped at a TOMRA recycling centre not far away and took the opportunity to resupply our drinks and snacks. This nearby earthcache seemed like a good spot to stop enroute to Wolloongong on a stinking hot day. No breeze from the River unfortunately. Took a while to collect the answers, which have beens sen to the CO.
Thanks JordsAu

My family and I travelled down from Brisbane to Vincentia and Canberra to spend the Christmas/New Year period with relatives. Yesterday my fellow geocaching team members from The Bromance (Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and JezNDez) arrived in Sydney to join me for a planned hike in Kosciusko National Park (ultimately cancelled due to closures by bush fires). The plan was to head to Canberra after collecting them from the airport but the smoke was so bad in Canberra that we decided to spend a few days caching in Sydney to see if conditions improved.
Because of the late change of plans we did not have an organised list of caches to find, instead we identified caches to target on the fly. This was one of the caches we managed to visit.
On a hot day it was a nice shady area to go for a walk, with the added bonus of some interesting examples of rock. TFTC

Well this certainly took us awhile to complete, luckily not to far from home.
Started this last summer but had to stop due to humidity and getting eaten alive by mozzies, we were a bit bored last night so thought we would take advantage of the nice spring night and finally knock this over. Joint effort with Ash_Kate. Finally happy to add a smiley here TFTC answers sent to CO

Those silly ones among us who collect all kinds of badges and belts on their caching journey, come up with all sorts of weird ideas. Like me for this weekend: I need an earth cache.
After living in Sydney for a while now, this park I have been through a few times but only now I stopped to do the cache. About time, you might say...
I was surprised to see many countries I had not expected at all. The rock samples were really varied which added extra depth to the task at hand. We probably had all kinds of colours there apart from purple and green and textures were really different, too.
The information collected and sent across to the CO. Thanks for bringing us here, JordsAU!

I was looking for caches with favourite points for the current souvenir challenge, this one looked interesting. What a great spot, really good to see all the different rocks, and thrilled that there was one from my home, Northern Ireland. answers sent to CO. What a great memorial.

Visiting Meadowbank to catch up with my son who is in the Navy and especially with a new addition to the family. Waiting for the ferry back to the city this one was just a couple of hundred metres from the wharf so with a good bit of time to spare had a leisurely poke around here. An amazing amount of work gone into this place.

Crossed over the river after work aiming for the nice little collection of caches at Putney but ended up on the Meadowbank side as the traffic was cray cray along Concord Road. Happy with my choice as it lead me to this EC which allowed me to meander at my own pace along the walkway rather than rushing from cache to cache. I had ridden my bike through this park before but this time I was able to stop at each pillar for a look/touch. Some I couldn't get as close to as I'd like as the rosemary is going wild and the spiders setup webs between the plants, right in front of the pillars. An enjoyable walk and nice to have a different style of EC. Photo to follow. Thanks JordsAU.
First time being here, what a great project to honour the countries in WW2 and Australia’s involvement in WW1. I really enjoyed this place. Answers have been sent to CO.
I was last in this park January 2017 collecting the nearby trad and multi, but had to give this one a pass due to time constraints! In Sydney again seeing some family who live in West Ryde, so decided this would be a good little walk to find today!
Wow - I never got a good look at this memorial before but I was thoroughly impressed! It is pretty cool to see all these pillars with different types of rock. Good to see it's all in good condition and the public have respected it Spent quite some time here looking at each pillar and collecting my answers which I have sent to the CO!
I have also attached a photo of me at the obelisk memorial as the optional requirement.
Many thanks to JordsAU for this interesting Earthcache, highly reccommend checking it out!

We had to go to Ikea today to get my daughter a new bed. I still wanted to get the souvenir for today so stopped for this cache on the way home. Luckily the rain held of long enough for us to walk around. My daughters really loved looking at and feeling all the rocks, They picked the countries for one of the answers and really enjoyed the walk. I will send the answers to the CO asap . Thanks for the cache JordsAU
In the area with Trodectus, this was an interesting one that fitted in with my interest in military history. Arrived GZ and wandered up and down a few times looking at the pillars and then getting the infomation. Was an interesting visit. TFTC
I was in the area with Coybear2000 and we decided to go for this one. Thankfully it wasn't raining at the time. We walked up and down a few times getting all the necessary info. TFTC.
Sent in answers recently. Had to use Google to find more information about the rock types. I chose obscure countries for one of the questions so I could learn more and possibly give the CO a break from ones other cache finders might have answered.
Thanks for the earth cache.

We were heading back home today after a night cache last night. We decided to follow a course from Earthcache to Earthcache, and found three this morning.
This one was a surprise - I wasn't expecting such a cool memorial. The rain let up for us long enough to walk and walk and count the pillars. The kids, who love rocks, were enthralled by what was on offer. One already wants some charoite samples from eBay! TFTC JordsAU

Found with EverestHigh some time ago. An interesting journey around the park getting all the info. Answers sent to CO via EH. TFTEC JordsAU.
Not an easy earthcache but most interesting to research. I spent a lot of time looking at the pillars and rocks and chose some of the rocks in relation to our family members and where they were in the world. Some other rocks were chosen to remind us of our own experience at looking at geology.
Thank you for bringing me here, a humbling place for one to reflect and pay homage to the sacrifice of others.
Thank you JordsAU, a favourite point.

An awesome Earthcache. The large collection of commemorative stones from over 40 countries is amazing enough, but even more noteworthy is the contribution of all these nations and their connection to our country, which is well portrayed by this memorial park. TFTEC JordsAu
Arrived around midday, started to sleuth out the answers and made several trips back and forth gathering what I needed. Became distracted when a friend from New York called and then when my four new caches were published. Everything was happening all at once! Ended up taking me two hours to gather all the information, email the CO and then write this log and still make it on time for my weekly visit to my Baba. Many thanks JordsAU, this is a great area. I used to cycle all the time through here back in the 90s and early 00s. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
Went to do this one and found had already done it in 2015 with dlturner and roz65.
I met up with marj01 earlier in the day and it was decided to check out this earth cache. We did the counting, felt the rocks, discussed the rock types and found out that we didn't know much about geology. However, we felt we had gathered information to make a submission to the CO, which I've now done. TFTC JordsAU it was fun.

Out for a fun and long day on the ferries, trains and buses to collect some old and some interesting caches. Ended up also walking a little over eight miles as well.
Nice spot for a memorial park ... would never have found it if not for this hobby. Interesting idea about each country choosing a different stone ... will need to google as to how those choices were made. TFTEC

Inbound to Ryde after touching down from Brisbane, this E/C looked interesting. I arrived to find a great memorial site and set about gathering the answers... [^]
Up and down a couple of times to confirm answers, I was done and picked my favourite rocks to focus on. With everything sorted, I headed over to the nearby trad before continuing my journey.
Cheers JordsAU.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has got to be the king of the castle of Earthcaches. At least for me. So many awesome bits of different rocks to drool over. I've had to email my answers to the CO, as they seemed to overwhelm the Message Centre and vanished... Hopefully this was due to verbosity, not suppression because my answers were illegal, immoral, worryingly weird or just so so very very wrong!
Anyway, thank you Jordsau.

Today we headed over to Meadowbank to do a variety of caches, a Multi, an EarthCache, a couple of Wherigos, and a few Traditionals. This was our 3rd of 8 finds for the day.
After finding "Shepherds Bay" we left the geomobile parked in the parking area under the railway bridge and then walked into the Memorial Park, following the pathway all the way to the posted coords of this EarthCache.
We had a pleasant stroll along the "stoney" memorial walkway and to the impressive towering obelisk. The required information was gathered, questions answered, and photos taken.
Thanks JordsAU for the interesting Earthcahe. Our answers to the questions have been sent.

Thanks for bringing me here & showing me this memorial. This is the hardest I have ever had to work to get an earthcache. TFTC
Wow cool park and tribute here!! I made the short walk around today while in the area from Florida. I counted all and checked out the difference on top of each pillar. Many thanks for bringing me here!! Attached pic is from the obelisk but not a spoiler.
Tftc, I finished work late and realised it was Earthcache Day. I wouldn't have time to find a csche today so I headed down here on my way home. The area was quite well lit.
I have been in this area before but never to this area with the memorial. There was even a memorial for the victims of the Armenia Genocide, something that doesn't get much notice.
Thanks again for another great cache in the Ryde area.

Absolutely loved this park, the history side of it and the entertainment side for the kids. Thanks JordsAU for setting up this cache
This was a fun day with Bluewattle, Bluewattle Junior and Bluewattle Mini gathering all the required information and choosing our favorite stones. We all admired how very well done the entrance to the Remembrance walkway down past all the pillars of the numerous countries was and it certainly has been a absolute pleasure to have visited here. Thanks JordsAU for the great experience of coming here, if it wasn't for your efforts I would not have known about this Park, a favorite point from me. (Messaged answers to CO prior to log entry)

First earthcache! Nice combination of earth history & human history. Been ages since I've been to this park, glad to see it better kept & more interesting than back in the day. Only looked up the computer for 1 thing - promise - as I'd never heard of Ocean Is. Now I know a bit more about the Japanese pacific campaign Got a photo with the geohubby as suggested & about to send in my answers (written up over an ale at Ryedales up the road). Thank you!
I have always had a bit of a passion for geology, and this site is like a geological museum in the local park. Thanks for bringing me here. The dog enjoyed running around in the park while I went about writing down the answers.
Since I'm a good dad, and because it gave me a chance to do some caching in virgin territory for me, I drove my daughter down from the Central Coast this afternoon for an appointment she had at Meadowbank TAFE College.
What I enjoyed about this earthcache was that it offered much more than just the geology lesson I had expected. I was particularly taken that the memorial draws to attention to all the countries in which Australians fought (though I think the cache listing should probably have said served, not fought) during the Second World War ... indeed, I am intrigued enough that once I am done with the ALRs for this earthcache, I'll be researching how Australians came to be fighting in countries like Canada and Iceland during WW2. Since I didn't read through all the questions beforehand, it took a couple of laps of the place and a little while to gather the required info ... but not as long as it is going to take to answer all the questions, which I will hopefully get to tomorrow.
Thanks for bringing me here, JordAU, to what would be my 'cache of the day'.

Wow what a wonderful designed memorial. I have visited a lot of memorials in NSW, while I was volunteering for the NSW memorial registry. I never come here. But so glad I have visited now. I have a special connection with all memorial. Wraacie my caching name stands for the Women's Royal Australian Army Corps. Of which I serviced for over 10 years. Thank you for bring me here. For Cache 400.
Today in sunny weather we took a tour with the every along the parramatta river.
Our first stop was Meadowbank followed by Cackatoo island and Greenwich point.
All caches took us to beautiful special view points.
Thanks for sharing

Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.
We picked the wrong day to do this. Part of the Team was recovering from surgery and I thought this would be a nice distraction however it was very hot here today so we had to rush a bit. Will return to do a photo for posting as the only photos I took today were of the stones which would be a bit of a spoiler.
Thanks JordsAU. A great little history and geology lesson.

Happy International Earthcache Day! I knew I had been saving this one for a reason... A stop on the way to geoboyfriend' family do on this gorgeous spring morning, hopefully I'll get there in time for Bathurst to start (Go Holden!)... Plenty of bird life around which made a lovely soundtrack. Wow "lots" of pillars, and the alphabetical listing was not as difficult as I suspected. Wandered down to the pillar to see some respectful yarn bombing - with knitted poppies on the ground around the base (I can't post that picture as it will show the pillar!). I'm still tossing up in my mind one of the questions, JordsAU you will laugh at my answer which is coming later today - gotta rush so I don't miss the start of the big race!! Thanks for the earthcache JordsAU.
This was a lovely park to walk through. It was an interesting earth cache to do. TFTC.
We were on a mission on International Earthcache Day and found ourselves at this very creative and interesting Memorial Park. Really enjoyed walking back and forth to collect the required information and select our favourites. At the obelisk there were some beautiful little crocheted poppies scattered on the ground in front of it.
A hot day but worth the visit. Have sent our responses off and attached a photo. Thanks for a thoughtful earthcache, JordsAU. TFTEC Cheers... Gaztek

Found this interesting earthcache and wandered around to find the answers to the questions. It was an interesting idea to have stones representing each country. Thanks for bringing us to this location by the river. TFTC.
This cache was far more interesting than I had expected on my little geocaching wander this afternoon. Although I thought I would recognise a lot more of the rocks on display. Obviously I need to learn some more geology. A lovely memorial. TFTEC JordsAU (I will send an e-mail, maybe not tonight though as a fair bit of typing is involved).
Well - this was an amazing little cache - my first official Earth Cache, but having a geology degree, this was not just any cache, but quite a bit of fun.
It was also a great tribute to those who have fought in foreign lands and have fallen on these rocks in battle.
RIP.
Thanks for the cache here - a well worth while time spent.

Came by this one today to pick up the souvenir.
Great location, really enjoyed walking through and checking out the history.
Have mailed CO with the relevant answers.
Took my time and really checked out every stone. Some interesting history and geology here for certain.

This was the fourth of seven finds for today. After finding ‘Water Fountain’, I headed towards the Memorial Park to complete this EarthCache as part of my challenge. Luckily it was a weekday and school had resumed as parking was plentiful. I quickly found the start of the walkway and starting collecting the required information. I took photos of the countries’ pillars which mean something to me. I walked down to the obelisk, recorded the information and took a photo of my GPS in front of the obelisk. TFTE.
