Made it to the island. Big effort from mumma bear. But no cache found. Muggled or washed away?
We could see it but not able to cross. Not keen to get wet when we have only started!
Mr EMC found some branches that he could lay down and tip toe across. Thankfully they held his very slight weight. He then walked up, down and across. He traversed here and there but was unable to find the cache. None of the rest of us were game to go across and help. Mrs EMC had already slipped over on the slope on the dry side so didn't fancy slipping into the water. Another time perhaps! Thanks anyway.
After stupidly following my GPSr found my way into the right road, should have known better since I drive this main road every morning. After finding my way in close to the GZ, muttered a curse about the evil Ms Wig and shed my shoes, thankfully. Didn’t save me as I tried to ford the improvised draw bridge unsuccessfully and promptly up to my thighs. Thank goodness I was on my way home as cold wet pants late on chilly winters afternoon is not the best. Thanks for the unscheduled adventure and hide.
Found it, poor little geocacher got wet and yes I should have listened to geo husband. Fun adventure place, thanks
Quick couple after work - I said -won’t be out longer than an hour - I said. Picked up a couple on the way. Stopped for petrol. Now this last one. Bit of a walk from the road. Searched a bit. Then I realise see where it is. By now it’s dark. Lucky I had my tool with me. Made it to the location and duly signed - in the dark. Now to make my way back. Thanks for hiding.
This was an easy one for me as I I wasn’t the one to go over. Krcamber put in all the hard work on the other hand, lots of laughs were had but maybe not for Krcamber who will now have to finish caching trip with wet feet.
Well that was fun! After a lovely walk around the lake we headed towards GZ. Made it over no problems but the way back was a different story. After one foot went in, of course the other one did too! Reezielou was loving it while watching me and losing it with laughter from the bank. Can’t wait to spend the rest of the day with wet feet. TFTC and the fun times!
Well that was a fun adventure! After wandering around the lake enjoying the peace and quiet on my stroll, I soon found myself near where I needed to be. A slight detour and I was getting closer, but then the name made sense. After taking matters in hand, I was soon on the island and finding this nicely sized container - I always love finding these in the wild.
Thanks to Pigwig2 for placing this cache and for the fun.

Hahaha! Awesome, thanks heaps, Peanut sent me on over, , took shoes off just in case. No spills and a great hide! Thanks so much. Peanut n Turtle
Caching today with The X-Trailers. Must admit we came to where we had to cross dome water. Gwen said no way. I took s stick and dug into bank and it sank about 30cm. No nit walking through so crawled across some logs a kind person had left. Cache and log quickly found and in good condition. Showed the cache to Gwen who said a nice container. Now to venture back without falling off the logs. Definitely my favourite cache for the day for the adventure. TFTC
Well this was a fun cache to do
Tried one way to gz realised yep it was over there the other way
Liz my twin sister was caching with us today
We walked as close as we could get to gz before deciding who was going to attempt the water crossing
As ,as when we were children I was able to talk her around to attempting the crossing
While i held gps and phones she crawled across a few spindly tree branches to get to the otherside
While I walked with gps directing her from the otherside
Had not wanted gps to fall in the water
It was pretty obvious from where I stood where the cache should be
Yep I was right THIS TIME
Now for liz to crawl back again ,hopefully not falling in
Had my camera ready just incase to get a good shot
She made it back JUST
Definately a favourite today
Thanks for taking us back to our childhood

I had a bit of free time before work so drove up here to find this cache. It was really peaceful around here today, and I had the place to myself. I crossed some water to find myself on an island but still 20m away so had to find a different route. I had brought my wellies so attempted a crossing with them but the water was pretty deep and murky so instead I did a balancing act and made my way across. From there the cache was quickly found.
Thanks for the adventure, Pigwig.

After geo friends and myself tackled Gilligan's Island cache earlier today we decided we would try and find this one. Although it was a much smaller 'island' then the one we were recently on we still had our work cut out for us to get across. Of course we made the mistake of crossing the wrong island first and after some fierce searching we realised we had to try the nearby one. Once achieved without falling in the drink, as we were heading to GZ, the prize was spotted rather quickly.
Thanks Pigwig2 for the good little adventure, a favorite point from me and TFTC

Doing a bit of island hopping with our caching adventures today - thankfully this was our last and so pleased that it was such a quick find once we arrived at GZ. Thanks Pigwig2.
Ha ha - well this was a lot of fun! Worthy of a favourite point for the interesting location and the fun we had getting there. I'm fast running out of favourite points but I'm glad to give this cache one. First of all we tried the island we'd seen when we came here previously but it was on the point of dark and the water looked uninviting that time. This time we came on a beautiful winter's day that was most enjoyable to be out and about in the sunshine. Nothing could have looked dreary or uninviting today. Having traversed to island one we discovered we were in the wrong place as GZ was still about 12 metres away. Trekking through the forest we felt like real adventurers and we came upon a location where we thought, or at least hoped, we could get to GZ and be safe from any crocodiles, Nessie's or monsters of the deep. Using a hand and a stick for balance we crouched across to GZ and made the find of the great container here. At last!! This has bothered me for a while and I'm so glad we were here today to get our smilie on this great cache. Thanks Pigwig2 for a great caching experience today. Cheers and happy caching!
Out and about today with geobuddies. This was one on the list.
All of us hasn't found this cache so it took awhile for us to find it. The place looks familiar though, I must have set this aside the last time I was in this area as pigwig2 caches are always hard to find (for me at least). However the satisfaction when we finally signed the log is well worth the effort. I guess it depends on the group effort. Sometimes some members just don't exert as much energy as this team does. Anyway, whingeing aside, finding this one was fun! TFTC pigwig2. A fav pt from me.

Already had wet shoes and socks from the Swamp Monster caches down at Helensvale so we decided to grab this one on the way home. We had already sussed thIs one out but the day we did so we were on our way to some one's house...or was that Psum Wahn? Lol. Anyway, tonight it was dark, I forgot my torch, the kids and adults were all grumpy and super itchy, but Humbug and I made it over to GZ anyway, through the stinky smelly waters
We did a quick recce on this last Monday...well, I had a laugh as Akasha and kids went to find this one while I stood back with a smirk on my face.
"Leave it for another day, when we are prepared to get wet"
Before we knew 900 mm of water was going to hit the Gold Coast mind you.
We already had wet shoes from playing with herbs caches up in the swamp at Helensvale so it made sense to come grab this one on the way back up the mountain.
Unbelievable, but the logbook was dry as a bone, and the cache made a good find to finish on for the afternoon.
We struggled to get gas at the servo at Binstead Way, but we were able to drive through Byrds Road back up to the mountain...the maintenance crew had finished doing whatever they had to do after 'the big wet'
Thanks Pigwig, been meaning to get to this one for a long long time...and Akasha had a good introduction to some real geocaching today .

I was in the vicinity of this cache today shooting some video and decided to find it. Being a nice, big ammo box, how hard could it be? Well, it wasn't that hard to find, but getting to GZ was somewhat of a problem. The cache name suggests it could involve water and while I'm okay with that ... most times ... it's the kind of water that creates the problem. After today's rain, it may be an even bigger (deeper) problem. I won't say any more, but can I suggest you be prepared to give the carpets in your car a clean when you get home ? Maybe yourself too, if you're not careful. Thank you 'Pigwig2' for the adventure. Apart from that one 'problem', it's a very nice area to stroll around. SL/TN/LN
I honestly didn't think the motor would be so deep. But luckily I only got mostly wet. Once I have arrived at GZ the cache was obvious. TFTC
A lovely day to drive south with Genyo and clear up a cluster of caches and a few strays along the way.
We arrived here with hope in our hearts that no one was getting wet. Well, it looks like someone has to Genyo peeled off his boots and socks and gaiters and went in for the plunge. That's the second time this week a geo-buddy has waded thru water to log a cache for me I have the best friends!
Back at the car it was clean up time and Genyo decided to go bare foot. Obviously this had repercussions for later caches as I was sent in to retrieve anything that was off trail. I carry spare socks so maybe we should have given this more thought before diving in
On we rolled...
TFTC Pigwig2!

I won't post a DNF because we didn't even get a chance to look. Having spent the day 'up the mountain', and the day was now disappearing rapidly, we searched in the car and caching bags for a torch only to find not a one with us. We scurried along the path hoping we might be lucky, and then, we came across the reason why this cache has this name. In the now nearly dark, with the water looking very dark and uninviting, and it starting to get quite cool, we realized we had to leave it for another day. Fear not! This is a Pigwig2 cache and must be found. We'll be back in daylight!
What a moat! After the recent heavy rains only the bravest\foolheardy could have conquered this one. Beautiful spot though and "I'll be back"!
We went out to Lips Swimming Hole. What a fun day collecting caches with friends! It was very funny to watch my Mum wade across the moat!
Found with krazykrissy lisylou and missussan and geokids i gave this a favourite a lot of fun watching misssusan retrieve this one lol tftc
We had alot of fun here, well I did anyway! The other 7 sat and took photos of me wading and sink stepping my way across. When I found the cache I called across "so I've signed myself in, are you all coming across to sign in too". I was then reminded that I was relying on them for a lift home and thought I'd better sign us all in as it's a very long walk back to Ipswich! Thanks for the fun and the refreshing cool off on a hot day!
Hmmm as we neared gz, it must be over there, how do we get there, misssusan was up for a bit of an adventure so she made the retrieval, we all had a good laugh at her slipping and sliding around a great cache. Tftc
The name and location of the cache said it all and we were right to go. The first navigation wasn't too difficult but on the second there was an almighty crack under MrG and that's when it was decided by MrsG that he goes it alone from here on in...and just let me know if there's no pen and I'll toss one! Cache found, retraced our steps and almost back at the end of the path we came across teenagers doing what teenagers do?....like getting their gear off while their mates take photos. Lots of laughs from the clothed ones when they saw us and a sudden dive behind a concrete wall by the male model. Whatever floats your boat at Moat is all we can say. TFTC Pigwig2.
Ok so when we got to this one we all went nah can't be.... But yes it is so mr gullivers travel 54 takes first step and sinks up to his knees, soon back tracked extremely quickly. So I took my shoes off and took up the challenge, very slowly I edge my way across the branch, as each step I shuffled the branch cracked a little bit more. Got over signed the log for us, now how to get back across without going for a swim. Thank god mr gullivers travel 54 was holding the branch steady. TFTC
cache find #1837. Out caching with Rusty85 and Diamonjs for the weekend. When we all approached the moat we ummmed and arr'd about how to get where we wanted to be, as the GPS was telling us we needed to get closer to GZ. We strolled on around the path and then made our way in closer. Mr GT54 thought he could walk in water and soon found himself knee deep in water, and made a quick exit and then Rusty85 went in and made her way across the fallen tree with Mr GT54 holding the tree steady. With the deed done, it was time for Rusty85 to do the return trip to home ground. Nicely done Rusty85. TFTC.
It has to be, no it can't be, hmm yes it is, Rusty85 decided to do the deed for us golden oldies, wish I had videoed it, what a laugh. One went over but it took two to come back, we did warn she would have to sit on the roof if she fell in. Great cache fav from me also. TFTC
Is it really over there?haha yeah it is,also stop and had a BBQ and enjoyed the peace and quite along with other things this place had to offer TFTC
Arriving at almost GZ we realised Anths footwear was not suitable and Sal's legs were probably too short. It was much easier for Anth to lose the shoes than it was for Sal to grow a bit so Anth was sent barefoot to find and sign the log. The smell after getting to GZ was oh so pleasant, so it was with luck that after returning to the car and driving to the BBQ just down the road there was a tap.. Yay. Always expect the unexpected with Pigwig.. Or just read the Title of the cache a bit better. Thanks Pigwig2, for placing the 467th cache we've found so far!
Well from some experience with this CO's caches I have learnt to expect two things. The name of the cache will give you some idea of what you are getting yourself into, but always expect the unexpected.
I had been for a little trip with IolantheK, Brother Colin and Griffo to get a not too far away challenge cache. This popped up on my way home. The challenge cache meant that I was suitably prepared for this one.
I arrived near GZ and walked over for a look. I was quite impressed by the den nearby and the system that had been set up to transfer goods to it.
Hmmm, back to the car for some needed equipment. Now I am ready
As stated in the description a nice easy find once you get close ;-P
I did get a giggle from previous logs, especially BC's. I would have loved to have seen how he got to GZ in (or possibly out of) his work clothes. LOL
I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Out and about after work today because I have never found a cache on the 20th Jan.
Well I have a couple now.
I really should check out who hides the caches I am going to.
Anyway, I am dressed for work...office work (leather shoes, black pants etc. )
And a nice little walk along a bush track.....so far, so good....I need to venture off the track ....mmmmm, ok....then I get to a spot where I can see the cache but......[B)] If you want a smilie, sometimes you got to earn it.
I hope your ears were burning there for a short time Ms Wig.
Thanks for the cache.

We were visiting this area a couple of weeks ago to meet up with someone at lunchtime. We were running a bit early so I decided to scope this one out with young Blake in tow. I made it so far carrying a toddler and then decided to return him to mum in the car and try again by myself. I made it within about 10 meters then realised that my wife wouldn't be impressed by me returning to the car soaking wet (or whatever) given that we were about to rock up to someone's house....... so I put it off until today.
I was a bit more prepared today (and Blake was at home asleep) and had some more appropriate footwear and the waterproof Garmin Etrex 10 just in case.
The only concern was finding a snake skin hanging off a branch and then looking accross the "moat" to see something rustling around in the grass.
The last 10 meters to the cache was definitely a challenge and I nearly donated a shoe to the cause.
Thanks for the cache pigwig. Cheers!!

Out checking out some of Ms Wigs latest hides. This one proved to have one of her favourite attributes!! Oh!! and a lot of it too!!!
After some carfull navigation, the cache was soon to hand without too much of a mishap!
Nasty Wiggy! Nasty!!

We had planed to head over to Macintosh Island for my belated birthday lunch but at last minute we thought with all the Gold Coast 600 works going on it my be a bad idea. So we need somewhere that has a BBQ, table, play area and a lake with ducks, Mmmm, I've got it. So with text messages sent out we all headed for Burley Griffin Dr.
After lunch my sister says "so how come we came here?". Before I could answer she then says "don't tell me theres one of those geothingys around here". Ahh maybe. So with that I headed for the car, reverse it up and dropped in my boat. I had already taken a wander around with my little one before and worked out where I needed to be but thought what the heck I didn't tow the old girl down here for nothing. Wading across just seemed to easy. So with everyone standing on terraferma laughing at me I made my way to the deserted island of Pigwig.
I dragged my boat ashore, then realised I forgot my phone and a pen, Doh. Oh well, with a bit of a wander around I soon found what I was here for and thankfully there was a pencil inside. Signed my name and grabbed the TB.
Heading back I noticed my boat had broke free from it's mooring and was a drift but thankfully the lilies stopped it from going to far. Back aboard for the return journey and what do you know I've sprung a leak, so I got wet anyway. All in good fun though.
Thanks for a great cache location Pigwig. Worth a favorite for sure.

T'was a fair and pleasant afternoon when brave Sir Herbz-alot didst venture forth on his sacred quest to find the haunted Moat of Maudsland and hold aloft the Holy Ammo Can of PigWig Isle.
With stout heart and damp underpants didst he plunge into the murky depths, fearless of the Kraken, mermaids and water sprites said to lie waiting for the unworthy hunter.
Fair maiden Lady Herbz-alittle swooned in the midday sun, overcome by her brave Knight's valiant battle to cross the Stinking Swamp of Burley Griffin. Jousting ghouls, goblins and foul smelling gasses, dry ground was gallantly attained. Forthwith, the prize was lifted verily on high...and there was much rejoicing.

The whole team out today doing some of our favourite game.
We had seen this one pop up but it was way too late, by the time we saw it, to consider attacking it.
We had just picked up "MadHouse Transport" (which was the girls choice for our 1000TH find !!!!!) just up the road so why not give it a go.
We parked at what we thought was the best approach to GZ.
It was a pleasant afternoon walk along the path then the clear track circumnavigating the lake with plenty of water birds in residence.
We approached GZ and considered where the cache could be, then we made the wrong decision first up but only light Geo Girl headed across so nothing went wrong.
All back together we headed further around and came in from the other direction and were then sure of the cache location.
Yep another typical sneaky Pigwig hide that involved her favourite medium (as all who know Ms Wig will understand) and it stood between us and our prize.
We considered the options and I drew the short straw and probably the safest of options so I prepared myself in the way only Pigwig and Blacklegend will understand and I very gingerly closed the gap between us and GZ.
Close to GZ the going was easy and I spotted the location very quickly and had the cache in hand as quickly.
We had decided to drop off one of the TB's we had at the moment, and it was very fitting as it is a Geo Duck.
My return journey was as successful as the inward one and I restored my condition to allow me to go back to the car.
Geo Wife took a couple of pics which didn't really come out well due to the position of the sun but one has a suggested adult rating!!! If you dare!!! (It's ok it is not that bad really)
Thanks Pigwig2 for this new one in the area
