A quick find here with RG72. No issues. We drove on up thinking the road on the left opened up to a reserve, but it didn’t. Still, a nice spot. TFTC Juicy Fruits.
Our second day in Pohara, and today we are exploring a few spots with some short walks. The Labyrinth Rocks, Rawhiti cave and Grove Scenic Reserve were all on the agenda and visited in the morning and early afternoon, then we headed around to Tata Bay and beyond for some park and grabs. Great weather, some really cool spots. Thanks all.

A quick find with Tregearp. All in good order. Thanks Juicy Fruits for another cache.
Found with Fisha1288. Got fooled by sign that says reserve so thought there would be a park or turn around area. Not fun in a 7.9 motorhome . Still fun. TFTC.
Happy to see people are still hunting for this as I know it’s a bit out of the way.. Pretty views on way back down though!
A nice quick find thanks.
Found as we explored more of Golden Bay. A great day for it, fairly quiet on the roads and on the walks.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A quick grab in a small reserve but i did love the rustic reserve sign. Also close by the "stupa" carved from a stump!! Thanks for the cache
After signing the log I was joined by a friendly fantail enjoying the sunshine thanks for bringing us here and the cache
These tantalising glimpses into the country are lovely to see, but it’s rather sad that so much land is private with no access allowed.
Not sure where to park so pulled into a side road, to find we were 4m from GZ!! No trouble finding then. TFTC
Getting warmed up for a big numbers day tomorrow I hope. First time this far along this road, but sadly not enough time this afternoon to explore more.
Almost missed the cache with some cunning camo.
Thanks

Fresh pencil, log & info sheet added ..
In comment to the questioning below as to why I chose here instead of the seat halfway up hill, firstly because I wanted people to see the little reserve and if I had placed it lower I'm sure most have gone no further, and secondly because if I flooded the area with hides there'd be nothing for me to hunt for *wink*

Taybeedragon, Zara and I are on a three day geocaching extravaganza curtesy Her Royal highness, the Queen of Britain, Ruler of the Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith. Happy birthday Liz!
I suggested we start this extravaganza with a tour of the East Takaka, and we are nearly at the end of that road now. I notice with interest that the CO here thought that the seat view half way up was not impressive enough for a cache, and yet one has since turned up To some extent, I agree with the CO - some caches seem to have little or no reason for their placement.
Anyway, an easy find here, and Zara does a nice U-turn for us, timne to head back down.

The Seagnoid, Zara and I are off for an adventure to Golden Bay. The Seagnoid is navigator and Zara and I pair up getting us from A to B?? OK the awesome Rawhiti Caves are behind us - so what treasures await us?
No view here and road very narrow - Zara and I stay put while The Seagnoid does his stuff and tags this one for us. Then its a 3 point turn with the assistant of The Seagnoid on road patrol to get us pointing the right way to get out of here. Cheers

Riding up the mountain on a bicycle, I've earned this cache.
Took me a while to find it though. It's a big rock, and well hidden.
The travelling fox is accomplished =-_-=

It has taken a couple of years - but we were back today to turn a frown into a smile. It had been a relief to find the cache was missing on our previous check as there were a limited number of places it could have been. No problem to find the replacement today in one of those places. One of the quirky GZ's that caching has alerted us to over the years.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Had a couple of drive-bys as seemed to be a lot of traffic and a few muggles walking even. Finally got it on our second attempt. TFTC.
I'm not sure how we managed to miss this one last time when in the area but it's all good now. Thank you Juicy Fruits
Somehow we missed noticing this cache when finding the one down the road several weeks ago. Today we returned to rectify that.
Thank you Juicy Fruits.
Thank you Juicy Fruits.
Steep indeed! I pushed my bike up a couple of the hills, riding down was a blast!

my you get great views from up here. This was a quick find in a lovely area. TFTC juicy fruits.
Found while Team Walker NZ were on a Summer tour across Tasman to Golden Bay - enjoy sun, sea and sights. Happy New Year and all the best for 2016.
After surviving the storm of the previous night in the tent (18ltrs of water IN the tent!) we headed for the Grove. After wallowing in the mud and water in there we made this find on the way home! Great spot TFTC.

NZDi and I have been planning a long weekend in Golden Bay for a month or so and today these plans came into fruition. Of course a long weekend out of town would not be complete without the odd cache thrown in and so a few caches were planned along the way. The weather back in Blenheim had been crap all week and the forecast for the weekend was not that flash either, however as soon as we got across the Whangamoa's we could see this part of the country was bathed in sunshine.
This is day three of our Golden Bay caching weekend and the plan was to visit The Grove, Rawhiti Cave, The Labyrinths and the Milnthorpe Park with a few random cache to link them all together.
After getting the caches at the Grove, we decided to clear out the rest of this road and made this a QEF PnG.

Just for the hell of it Dad and I found ourselves up this way, quick find here. TFTC (1644)
We stayed for 3 days in Takaka together with Athosandros. Today we made a trip to to Able Tasman Nationalpark. On this tour we found this cache.
Sorry for the late logging but the internet connection in our motels was very unstable and bad.

today we started a nice trip to the Abel Tasman Nat.Park. First we walked the Grouvs Trak, then we had a short stop at the Abel Tasman Monument, after that we had a walk to the Wainui Waterfalls. Further we drove to Totaramui. On our way back home we stoped in Pokara for a nice bath in the ocean. On this daytrip we found a lot of caches. Thats to all owners from Germany.
Another good find with Just-Lookin
Thanks for the cache and encouraging us to visit this area.

On a geocaching holiday with tmann421. Exploring the area, lots of amazing places, views and caches. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable holiday.
Good find here.

It's been many years since we had been to Golden Bay, and a long weekend seemed an ideal time to reacquaint ourselves with the area (and find a few caches as well ).
Wonder where the reserve is? It looks like private property around here. Found by StreetWalker while I was searching the other side. TFTC.

#8445. This whole area seems a lot more built up than we were last here (which admittedly was probably 20+ years ago). TFTC.
Cache was missing so I've replaced it with a container Mr & Mrs Sobad will recognize
Mrs Sobad hopped out for a quick grab. A bit later Sobad followed. Description was reread, then hint and logs checked. Still no success. We expected a challenge at the new one from the CO but not here. It all suggests our cacher sense needs honing.
Nearly gave up then found on grass as we were leaving. Have popped it back in a spot which is hopefully where it came from.
Quick find whilst we were here for the gorge walk. View a bit overgrown but you could still see a little.
We have never been this far up the road. Puffed up on our bikes, then enjoyed the ride down again. Thanks, J&G.
On holiday from England visiting family in Golden Bay, seeing the sites and picking up a few caches.TFTC
Found on a day's exploration around the region, letting the geocaches lead me to all the interesting places. A quick find in a nice spot. Signed log, TFTC

Heading back from the mussel inn to Tata beach. Still waiting for the promised 25 degrees to arrive. Perfect conditions for a bit of caching. Picked up geo coins. Dropped off TB
A bit of caching in the rain this morning. As the local saying goes "wet before 7 find by 11" turned out to be true yet again. TFTC
PTRays grabbed the cache just as I started to explain that the area had recently been mowed and mustn't be there. Oops! Left two path tags and took a tidy kiwi pin. TFTC
