Still there and accessible now! Just mind the prickles in the grass ?? Quick find, cute little container. Just managed some initials on the wet log. Thanks CrystalFairy, I enjoy these types of challenges!

I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Queen Charlotte has been extended by 1km, but they have put up a fence at the end of the extension and the cache is about 100m from the new fence. Once Queen Charlotte is fully extended and joins the road of the same name from the other side, this cache will be accessible again. Please bear with me around the construction..

**This was 1 of 38 caches that was found by me on the 12th of 19 days in New Zealand.**
**Which also was the 65th of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**

Ah, reaching this location was rather difficult. So lets be contended with saying that I simply walked up the road and walked back down. What I did in between is nothing worth mentioning really.

Currently I have at least 38 found caches in all distances.

*During 19 days I traveled from Christchurch to Auckland in an SUV, that i also slept in during most of the nights. 5.956 km of driving did it take to visit the 351 caches that I have marked as found in c:geo.*

*Earthcaches was my main focus during the stay. And I manage to visit 106 of them. So New Zealand is right now the only country where earthcaches are my most found cache type Cool.*

Road works are nearly completed.. As soon as they are complete I will re-enable. There are multiple ways to this site, but the one at the end of Queen Charlotte Drive is the one blocked off...

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

I qualify for 10 'distances' as per the description... will collect this cache at some time.

Really disappointed to not be able to get to this one. Big fences up and signs saying no public access. Should be disabled until access is available again.

20-Jan-18
A sign saying no public access. Tried to sneak up between the watertanks, but not possible to get unnotived to gz, so I gave up. Maybe it works on sundays? [NOT-SIGNED]

Checking in a trackable that I had brought back from Europe and found in my geocaching bag months later.

#4517. I saw this challenge when I first started geocaching and didn't imagine I would have a chance to complete it for many years. But funny things happen in life and a recent new component of my work means that I now get to do a bit more overseas travel. Just back from a trip to Brisbane where I was able to fit in some extra days of leave and do some geocaching. I made sure I cached north and south of the city as Brisbane is close to the 2500 km line from Wellington. I may get some caches in the 5000-7500 category later in the year but I would be very surprised if I got 10 caches. So will claim this challenge now. Finding the cache was a bit tricky as well as the area surrounding the GZ is being developed for housing and access routes in are limited. Good being here on a Sunday with no workers anywhere near the GZ. The cache hide was quickly spotted and I liked the nice camo container. Signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the awesome challenge CrystalFairy.

I finally got around to visiting this cache and the nearby Camo' cache ( which sadly i think may be missing) As i have getting towards 4,000 i thought i should qualify for this and therefore should look it down. Well how much longer this cache will last is questionable. There is heavy road works all around -in fact pink maker posts only 5-9 m. away labeled Water/ Power etc . There looks like a new road is being formed just in front of the cache -directly below- and i guess the trees are ear marked for the chop. But it good to locate and claim this cache! It was certai8nly a 3 terrain with large ditches to cross all as part of the major earth works surrounding the cache. and then a clamber up the grassy bank to GZ with a slightly easier route coming down thank fully. The log book was soaking and unsignable but i did leave a temp waterproof strip which i signed.
I took photos of tyhe view and earth works which i will post later.
Thanks for the cache

With a recent trip to Perth for my brothers wedding I was able to meet the requirements for this one. Glad I did it in the evening as looks like would be plenty of trucks and other landscape equipment digging out the hills. All quiet when did my search. (probably helped by the miserable southerly blowing at the time). Able to quickly find. I like the hide. Log though completely soaked and not writable. Took some pictures of log as proof of being there. Thanks for the challenge and thanks for the cache.

Preparing for my trip to NZ with Dartmoor Deliverer leaving UK in less than 4 weeks and scrolling through the challenge caches…..
VERY pleased that I have already achieved qualification for this cache with all bar one distance with over 10 finds - in fact the next lowest total is at present 48 from my home coords! This qualification is pure pleasure and delight whilst travelling far afield confirming that we do indeed live in a beautiful and varied world, and I do indeed count my blessings that I have been able to have - and to continue - this pleasure!

I do hope that the CO finds this acceptable, and all we now need to do is to find this cache on our travels!
Many thanks,

Red Roaming and I are coming to New Zealand in a few weeks. RR already qualifies for this cache & I will by the time we get to North Island. Looking forward to hopefully collecting this cache when we get to this area

Glad I made the effort to trek up to this one this evening. A good challenge to get a smiley on and lovely views from the top. Log wet but writable.

With our eyes still gritty from Jet lag, today seemed a very appropriate time for me and Mel0n to head over and collect this one. My stats table shows that I qualify thanks to a recent UK trip. Mel0n's will also probably qualify once I get his logs up to date! We dropped off a TB which wants to keep travelling east.

Oh, and another 410m towards the DGSC challenge from the walk from the parking to blow the cobwebs out of our heads. I wonder how close to the GZ the building works will get? TFTC.

When I initially saw this cache released I couldn't foresee when I'd qualify, however when looking at it again recently I noted the exemption would allow me to make a claim. Completed the formalities while in the area this evening, TFTC CrystalFairy, #8255

I was aiming to make the most of the stay up north, find some interesting caches and challenges, and have a ball. I looked at the map to see the whereabouts of some challenges, and planned my journey accordingly. Very nice and sunny day after the early morning drizzle, and a few people about enjoying the weekend. Plenty of breaks between traffic though to look for caches and enjoy the scenery. Thank you to all the CO’s who lured me out!!

This is a great challenge, thank you!!

On our way to Wellington nearing the end of the campervan part of our visit from California, but made the detour on a windy day for this one. Excellent views, but the last part of the trek probably rates a terrain 2. You can see from our statistics that we have found more than 10 caches in 12 distance bands from 7500 miles. I think that satisfies the requirement, but if you would like us to do the km version, just let us know. Earns a favorite for both the hide and the memories of all the far off caching. Thanks.

Went up to Taupo recently so now I finally qualify for this challenge! Enjoyed the walk to GZ with the geodogs who met some muggle dogs on the way! TFTC Smile

I was surprised I qualified for this challenge! Enjoyed the walk to GZ in the dark with the dogs, never been here before Smile cache is all in good condition, nice little container. TFTC

Made the challenge.
Then enjoyed the exercise and the view.
Find was straightforward, cache all in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
Greeted by truly the largest spider I've seen. Relocated the gentle creature to another home.

One of many finds during a weekend cache raid of the area. We enjoyed great weather, fun caches and we managed to fill a few boxes on some challenges we are working towards.
We headed down the track meeting some friendly muggle dog walkers on the way. We soon spotted the hide however as we extracted the cache the L A R G E S T spider we have E V E R seen came out to meet us. We even thought is was plastic and attached to the cache however no, it was a real one. MAR took off at great speed leaving ROS to complete signing the log.
Thanks for a great challenge, interesting result of our stats for this challenge is that our stats have dramatically changed since our recent shift from Auckland and it now appears that we haven't completed much caching close to home. TFTC.

Thanks to a trip to Western Australia in 2013 and a recent trip to North America I at last qualify to log this cache. I have still had to use the exemption for the 1000-2500 km range as I have only 6 caches there but all the others including the less than 1 km range are OK. Went for a walk this morning and the GPSr took me straight to it, a great location. Cache is in good condition with guardian still looking after it faithfully. Signed log, thanks for an interesting and enjoyable challenge, and it gets a favourite point!

a recent trip to Perth, Singapore & Malaysia helped sort this one out! worked out the itinerary to make sure we hit the required distances. ironic that the hardest distance to fill in this grid is <1km, there's only one in our neighbourhood. final cache location was a nice walk with good views. TFTC

Last cache of the day, around lunchtime. Cold & windy up on the top, but no problem finding the cache. Container full of water, but log okay in it's baggy. Drained container as best I could, but after a morning of caching in the rain all of me and my clothing were pretty sodden.

Came across this challenge recently and took a little look at my own statistics and realised an up-coming trip to Singapore and Malaysia would put me into the >7,500 range. However, then realised from my home location there are only three possibly locations for the 5,000-7,500 range (Western Australia, parts of Indonesia and a very small slither of Hawaii). Hmmmm, suggest to the geo-wife we add a couple of days in Perth on our way - duly accepted (a little longer in the air, but saved $600 on flights) Big Grin. I can just see the muggle-family members who don't "get" geocaching shaking their heads at us re-arranging our travel plans just to "find some little plastic boxes". TwistedWink

All ranges filled, but lucky I don't need that 1km from home range, as those caches just don't exist where I live (and the only other cache in that distance from home belongs to me! Razz)
Thanks for setting the challenge CrystalFairy I really enjoyed completing this one, and good to get back to Perth and see the changes after 20 years.Big Grin

TFTC!

This one took some time to complete, but finally visited Sydney last weekend and managed to pick up 13 caches. Went to GZ today and had no trouble locating the cache - excellent views on the very pleasant walk.

Very glad that we are allowed a free pass on one category - I only have one cache in the 5,000 to 7,500 km range, so that is the one I'm "dropping".

Excellent stuff - this one also completes an empty slot in my D/T grid.

TFTC !

Very thankful for the slight amendment to the requirements for this challenge as I really couldn't see how I would ever qualify when it was published. An enjoyable little walk to GZ today with interesting views and revelations of just how much more acreage there is still to be developed (?) up this way. Nice hide, which remains dry and in good condition.
Dropped off HVAC-EMT's Finland Nordic Caching Traveler Geocoin for further travels.

Many thanks for the challenge and the hide!

Cache # 1,747 - was planning to do another cache today, but got delayed with an accident on SH1, so detoured to pick this one up. A nice brisk walk, and then a minor search before coming up with the clever hide. Had talked with the CO a while back and discovered, like others, that I did indeed qualify with the modified rules. Will post the snapshot when the statistics come back online. (See picture for current offline status). Certainly worth a favourite point. TFTC!

Added 5/6/14 - Geocaching statistics back online, so picture attached.

#5462. Claiming the exemption for 5000 km to 7500 km. Walked the distance to find a nice hide. Thanks for the challenge. TNLNSL. TFTC.

I wan't aware that the criteria for finding this cache had changed until I spoke to Troodles at the event yesterday. Whether you're allowed one or two exemptions I now qualify (personally I would go with just one distance exemption being allowable, but I would wouldn't I Wink ). Popped up to GZ and made the find this morning.

Thanks for an interesting Challenge.

Cheers and TFTC

Had heard at the event today that the criteria for this challenge had changed. To clarify, there are 11 categories listed, but you need only find 10 caches in 9 of them, so there are 2 exemptions?

31-Jan-14
Had only recently noticed this challenge - thought I should stop off on the way home from geocaching around the Hutt area today and find the cache.

Nice cache guardian and second to sign.

Thanks CrystalFairy, a different challenge.
The 5000 - 7500 km is my weakest!

Well done Phasevisitor. A third option, Hawaii to add to Perth and Indonesia.

We are down in Wellington spending Christmas with family in Aotea. We had some spare time today, so we went out and found some nearby caches. When looking into handy caches this morning we spotted this challenge cache and figured that we would be close to meeting the requirements, so we checked our stats page and sure enough we have over 10 finds in all distance categories! A copy of our distance stats (as of this morning) are attached.

So we popped out today and made a quick find of this neat little cache container and claimed an unexpected Christmas day FTF! Thanks for the challenge and the cache - favourite point added!

I qualify. Just got to find some time to go for a wander. I am sure the FTF sharkz will beat me to it.

12-Dec-13
The problem with this cache is the 5000km to 7500km requirement We pretty well have to go to Perth or Indonesia to get it. Singapore and Malaysia are too far. I'm amazed that TreMichLan with the variety of their 3,300 finds overseas only squeaks in with 43 finds in this band. Even Samoa is too close.

Interesting to note that even the owner hasn't found a cache in this band!

Thought with all my travel I would qualify for this, but apparently need to make two more trips. Not likely to get this done for several more years. Sad
