4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

No action on the NM log; likely time for this one to go.

08-Apr-18
Shocked at the amount of rubbish dumped out here - absolutely disgusting. The pile of glass bottles was probably the least offensive thing here. Saw a lot of things but not a cache. The CO should check this one out.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

Found the anthill but no cache. Interesting to see that there is still the bunch of gingerbeer bottles from years ago...

29-Mar-18
Found a toilet not far off and a pile of bottles at GZ but no cache
Might need a co check please

19-Dec-17
Thankfully we didn't have to walk far for this one as it resulted in a DNF... Found the anthill & inspected lots of spots within close vicinity but no luck Sad

Drove to within about 50m of GZ. Once there wasted a little bit of time looking where directed by my phone but soon wandered over to the nearby object and made a simple find. TFTC The_Kookaburras.

TFTC! Out with Cravo10 on another Thursday caching trip to cleanup another corner of this state of ours of unfound geocaches!

We met up in Booragoon where Cravo10 was getting the Geo mobile serviced, so we were in the Mazda today, which meant no big kerbs, no off roading (well maybe a little!!). We didn't make the same mistake as last time with KrabiBoy where we switched the dynamic of who was on navigation and who was on driving.

We headed out to cleanup a bunch of caches in whiteman park and a few other areas of natural bushland including the get smart series by felix, the badgerup lake and gnangara lake caches too.

All caches found in pretty good order, loved the walk through the whiteman park trails, a nice walk with a reasonable path in a place I would have never otherwise have visited!

Cache of the day would have to go to wet work, a nice cache that is Very easy to find, but a great idea. You can only guess who got their feet muddy for that cache!!

Thanks to the local COs for a great day out and we can't wait to come back sooner rather than later!

Tftc, unfortunately cache was out in the open and full of water, drained it and hoping will dry out in this heat

28-Aug-16
Nice quick find here after walking from the locked gate. Easy to see why it is locked - so much rubbish around! There are so many other ways to dispose of unwanted stuff... Thank you for the cache The Kookaburras, nice piece of bushland regardless.

28-Aug-16
Thank you! Out on a cache run with the nephews. GZ had us at a pile of glass bottles, which I asked the boys to stay away from. Happily the cache was a couple of metres away. Contents were a little wet, but I noted the cache was popular today.

23-Aug-16
Didn't see any kookaburras, but eventually spotted the anthill. Thanks

23-Aug-16
Elrin and I spent the whole way to this cache pointing at things and going "is that an anthill??"

20-Jan-16
Heading out to Gnangara with Megawat60 for a spot of 4x4. He stopped to clear up a coupe of these which I had found previously, but this one had escaped my radar on my previous visit. So we parked Max the GeoUte at the end of the road and had a walk to GZ, which would have been pleasant except for the disgusting amount of rubbish. Glad to have a smiley here though, TFTC!

20-Jan-16
Out to grab a few with m4yb and Max the GeoUte and also do a spot of off road driving, just to test him out. Road was blocked so we walked to this and it was very nice and cool with just the sound of the bush

Thanks for this one Kookaburras..

20-Sep-15
Quick find in an obvious location, even though my GPS said it should have been 5m away.
Added my name to be first in the new log book, and a 1944 penny to the cache.
Grabbed the card as well.
TFTC The Kookaburras.

09-Aug-15
Wife spotted this from the car whilst again I went hunting in the wrong direction. Signed and replaced. Thanks.

19-Jul-15
TFTH found while out and about with Robroy_co getting our August souvenir and a few extras along the way. Found the ant hill and there followed the cache!!

19-Jul-15
After a great 4WD adventure though the "Pines" this afternoon we thought we would pick up a few more caches in the area! We found the landmark ant hill and the cache was easily spotted from a distance. TFTC Smile

04-Jul-15
In the area collecting a few caches. Beautiful morning for a walk through the bush. My GPSr has been a little bit off this morning but I eventually found it. Tftc.

17-May-15

15-May-15
Quick find this morning while on a brief Cache run. Nice quiet walk out past all the dumped rubbish.

05-Mar-15
I was getting close to 3000 finds and with a couple of free days I decided to venture to this area to try and boost my numbers!

A bit of a cross country home to this one Surprised. A quick find once at GZ though Smile

The_Kookaburras - jinta29 found your cache Kookaburras and the Ants on 5/03/2015 11:40 am. This is my find #2968 and find #14 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

14-Feb-15
Headed out early this morning to grab a few caches around Gnangara Lake with ask277. Took a little detour from seeking the mystery caches to grab this one. Spotted this easily. TFTC, The_Kookaburras Smile

11-Dec-14
Find 5 of 6 today.
Came back to finish off the 7 Series after two previous DNFs when the containers had gone walkies. All quick finds here, thanks for replacing. Enjoyed the three kookaburras as well although the temperatures were rising on that boggy sand by the end. TFTCs!

02-Nov-14
The walk in on the sandy track turned out to be quicker and easier than I anticipated, and it was a very quick and easy find at GZ. Thanks for the cache The_Kookaburras!

25-Oct-14
A quick find while in the area performing maintenance on our nearby puzzle caches. Thanks for the cache and THANK YOU for the finder card Smile

22-Sep-14
Parked at end of bitumen and walked in to GZ.
GPS was showing at least 20 mts away because I spotted cache from at least this distance.
Cache was very exposed so I signed log and took TB replaced in its spot and covered a little better so it's not so visible from track.

This was a bit of an adventure. The dirt track leaving the sealed road looked very firm due to all the rain and even showed some limestone road-base in places. However, I remembered (probably a little too late) that the geo-GTI does not have the ground-clearance or the AWD capabilities that my Forester had...oops. No harm done. Parked up and walked the rest of the way to GZ. Quick find. Dropped off the CITO Koala TB as a swap for the Moomin Papa TB.

Thanks for the cache The Kookaburras.

Cache Condition: Log is a bit wet as the snaplock bag has been torn

14-Jul-14
I knew this cache was going to involve some carry of my road bike, but I was still dejected when I noticed it was 400m of soft sand either way. I had a TB I brought back from Finland (Moomin their biggesy kid icon) that I needed to offload and had ridden over 20km to reach GZ so made the journey. It seems as though this area is the go to place if one ever needs to offload a washing machine or the like. It was a quick find at GZ. I did try to sign the log but the papers wet so it was more of a tear than a signature. Thanks for the cache The Kookaburra....how about a cache in an old gum tree?? Big Grin

P.S. - I managed to get lost on the way home. Who would've thought to name Mirrabooka Ave a different name at the very end section and not only a different name but the same name as the road perpendicular to it?? It seemed as though I was on Gnangara Rd every which way I turned. More chocolate more me this afternoon. Smile

03-Jul-14
TFTC nice walk on 4wd tracks. Log is wet

21-Mar-14
Back in this dry, dusty area searching for kookaburras and ants. Love the 4wd thanks for the cache.

08-Mar-14
This was a bit further away from the track than my GPS was indicating but luckily it was hidden in an obvious spot. The ants were going a little crazy today with the threat of rain. TFTC The Kookaburras

After finishing the 7 series nearby we logged this cache as well. Unfortunately no ants and no Kookaburras, too hot....

After solving a few puzzles, we did a day run to north east of Perth,
to find them and a few others in the area.
Had an enjoyable day, visiting some amazing parks and bush land.
The cache was well hidden, and in good condition.
Thanks for the cache, The_Kookaburras.

Time to get this car moving! !

03-Nov-13
Nice hide pity grevus.in.oz was to chicken to drive his Shiney 4wd down the track so now I'm frantically battling flies as I type this life

30-Oct-13
Well I had nothing to look forward to today apart from painting the house, so took a break after 8 hours straight and nipped out for a local Cache.

Followed FELIX's tracks and drove along the road and then along the much very sandier path to GZ.
Parked within a couple of meters of the Cache location....

Thought about reversing the 160m back but the much deeper sand put me off, so just managed to
squeeze in a 3 point turn with out damaging any local fauna or flora !!

Cheers for the cache and the short 4WD expedition !!!

28-Oct-13
Easy find once at g.z. TFTC

12-Oct-13

22-Sep-13
Just packed up after spending most of the day cleaning out our shed! Rain was pending and time to think about tea, when the email alerts started going crazy!

Most of the caches were too far away but this one was at our back door. So loaded it into the GPSr then into the GeoCruiser we dived.

Drove to within 3 metres of the cache.

Spotted in the first spot we looked! Nice accurate co-ords. **FTF** 5pm. Picked up the TB and left a pathtag. looking forward to lots more new caches.
