I had a spare couple of hours this morning and Ive been eyeing off a loop here for a while. Today was the lucky day. My gps was a bit off on this one but got there in the end. TFTC
Had to leave the trail for this one. TftC Great location. Found after completing the AdLab.
I'm in Brisbane for a couple of weeks to spend time with my Mum while she's still around and to do a bit of caching as well. Today, I visited Tinchi Tamba to complete the "Can You Find Month in Month" series and to do the AL here. This was a straightforward find while I was doing the AL ... bonus! Thanks for the smiley TeamLambo.
Over from NZ visiting and doing as much caching as other commitments allow. After attending a CITO on the northside this morning, decided to spend the rest of the day finding caches on my list that were in the area.My main targets were the challenge caches in Tinchi Tamba and I think I picked a good day, with a little bit of breeze, no mozzies and lots of kangaroos. Of course I was also going to look for any others that I would be passing as well.Had to wait for heaps of muggles to pass by not too far from the cache, before diving in to grab the prize. TFTC
TripleTurmoil, elina_maree and I spent this afternoon caching at Tinchi Tamba. We found 16 challenge caches, 6 trads and completed the AdLab and bonus cache. It was perfect weather, the tracks were all fairly dry and there were no mozzies at all today, just heaps of kangaroos. After saying farewell to TT, EM and I continued around the Island Track to look for the last couple of caches before it got dark. My phone battery was dead so I was relying on EM here. She pointed me in the right direction and as I searched around I came across the cache container. It was well hidden and quite tricky to extract from it's hiding place. The contents were in good condition with a few nice swaps still in here. Thanks for the cache TeamLambo!
Quicker find than expected! Was a little intimidated by the four star difficulty, and cautious with a sizeable kangaroo only meters away haha... but found it! Thanks for this.
Enjoying the day out with Beautiful Wife. Came straight to this one. Good hide. TFTC
Out today to sign logbooks for the challenges in the area. I couldnt go past without checking this one out. I did quite a bit of searching & then eventually spotted the cache in a place I had previously examined but obviously not closely enough. Log signed & cache returned as found TFTC
### Tinchi Tamba Wetlands ###Today we went on a lovely tour of the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands. We found this box in beautiful natural surroundings. Thanks for the cache say team sissifalke
I was here with Shazzar66 ages ago (maybe 18 months ago) looking for as many caches as we could find, especially the Challenge caches, but basically everything. Just previous to that time, there had been floods that had done a fair bit of damage in the area. A couple of the houses on the way into the park had been gutted; ruined furniture and carpets etc had been removed from the inside of the houses and there was rubbish everywhere. Unfortunately, the wetlands had been pretty well flooded also. This cache was one of the casualties.Today I was in the area completing a different cache, and I noticed that this cache had been replaced, so I went for the find. I see that Shazzar66 has found it, so I didnt feel bad logging it without her. It was a relatively quick find here, in the second place I looked. All is in good condition here, and hopefully it will last for a while longer. Thanks for the maintenance here, TeamLambo.
This was a quick find. So grateful there were no mozzies today. I know they can be thick.
Thanks for the cache. Found in good condition during a pleasant mozzie-free (true story!) walk around the circuit.
Cheers

Much easier than I anticipated to find this one, hint doesn't make sense go for the obvious.

Out for a walk with La Kedi and Bulldozer after an event here this morning, picking up stragglers to tidy up the Tinchi-Tamba area. The temperature was a little warm but clouds overhead provided some relief so that it was quite a lovely walk. There had been rain the previous night but the ground underfoot was perfectly fine crossing over to GZ. We initially avoided the obvious spot due to the hint but when we didn’t quickly find it elsewhere, we checked our original hunch and found the cache. There was just a small amount of water in the cache but it has not affected the logbook. Thanks TeamLambo
Our last find along this nice easy loop from Tinchi Tamba after a nearby event this morning. It was early enough not to be stinking hot, although the humidity was high – the clouds overhead were very welcome! At GZ, I was frozen in place by a large spider scrabbling around on its web, and while I was dealing with my phobia, I DisSister found the cache in a spot that Dragonsky had already checked! Oops! Such is caching! TFTC, TeamLambo. =^.^=
After the event, KerriMG and I walked around this lovely area doing the AL finding a few caches along the way. Kerri had previously found this and said that the hide is quite different now and much easier. Easy to see but a bit tricky to get out. Tftc
Another find while doing a loop of the boardwalk and exploring the area.
Spotted by one the fellow cachers in our group and soon signed.

I enjoyed the walk! We heard and saw a kangaroo jumping past as we were searching. Out on our rainy Saturday adventure. Sarah made the find and I was looking way off in the distance. TFTC. Found with Sarah.
Thanks for the cache. Wetlands lived up to itself with the rain today. Got dirty. Found with gorjess516
Great area grabbed this one as it was on the route of the Adventure Lab, took a bit of finding. Great hide. TFTC TeamLambo
Thankyou for this cache and for continuing to maintain it for our entertainment. TFTC
Found it this time but was about 6mts out. We looked for this back in March. Happy to turn my frown upside down. TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Tftc landkg, nice D/T on this quick find , favorite point for the series here at the wetlands
2322 - This afternoon I found myself in the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands to grab the AL's in the area and to grab this cache - the only traditional that is located here that I haven't found yet. It was a lovely afternoon to take a walk here, seeing and hearing many different bird types and a koala, unexpectantly returning from the mangroves near the river bank. I found the cache quite easily and in tip top condition in just the second place I looked at 1:47pm. What a great hiding spot you have found here! Thanks for placing this one here Geolze and for the maintenance TeamLambo.
All in tip top condition, even after recent rain. First to sign new log. Tftc
We are back in play. Finally. Sorry everyone but I got there in the end. Can't find the original so new container in place. GPS was bouncy but I had my GPSR as well as phone and they both said it was in the right place. Not sure about original hint. No update hint yet given its a D4 but don't forget to log your find if you come upon the hide.
Hi everyone. So I acknowledge this has been out of action for a while and I apologise. Plan to fix over the next week or two. The recent bad weather and our 3 weeks of covid isolation hampered all attempts to get here.
I haven't forgotten about this cache, I just haven't been able to get there as yet. Planning a run through here shortly to will replace that day. Sorry to anyone watching and waiting for it to come back online.
Shazzar66 and I searched around GZ for about 20min. Couldn’t find. Checked the previous log entries. My guess (unless we’re cache-blind) is that it’s been washed away in the floods.
Spent 20 mins looking for cache. Check log entry and no sighting since the floods, so suspect it is lost. Thanks for the adventure anyway.
Had a feeling it would flood at gz and float away with all the recent rain. I will disable until I can get out and have a look and replace if needed. Cheers. Dan
Hi everyone. I will endeavour to get out here shortly to replace the log. Thanks to Peppa for replacing the snap lock bag already. Happy caching.
Have come to Tinchi Tamba for something other than a crazy challenge cache…
Davinells had found this since my DNF so thought I had a good chance of avenging my last visit….
A nice quick find today… replaced the snap lock bag and returned the disintegrating log to the container… tftc…

Spending the afternoon gathering caches in the Tinchi Tamba wetlands. After picking up most of the challenge caches I had a bit of time left to grab the trads and AL on the boardwalk loop. I saw that this cache was disabled but thought I’d take a look to see if the container was still there. Found the cache as per domsky’s log. Signed log and replaced as found. Tftc
On our walk through this area, we took a small detour off the path to find this one. After a little search, we found it on the ground in the open. We have replaced it at the base of a tree, inside the tree hollow right at GZ.
Thanks

What better way to spend some quality time with my lovely partner than chasing down a few AdLabs and stomping through Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve trying to scare off the monster kangaroos of which she is terrified!
We also managed a few random caches along the way.
At GZ Mrs VC started her search with gusto, looking here there & everywhere until I pointed down and enquired "How about this?"
The cache was lying, friendless & without cover IPS in the semi-long grass.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
Perhaps a CO visit to relocate the cache in it's proper place? [?]

It must have been quite a few years ago when my daughter and I first came out to DNF this cache. I was still calling her the geodaughter at the time and now she is a young woman that goes out drinking gin all night. All I can remember is that we were being mauled by mosquitoes and removed GZ from our holiday destination hit list.
These days I cache with my wife and she’s becoming a bit more tenacious with the finds. We were in the Tinchi to pick up a challenge and I knew that this would be our best chance to avenge this aging DNF.
Today there wasn’t a single mosquito to be found although our search began like it was going to end in misery again. A few years helped us because the camo is falling off and we were soon onto the prize. tftc

This evening, I headed north to Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. My aim was the completion of *Tinchi Tamba Wetlands* Adventure Lab, as well as checking out a few of the challenges that were scattered around. Much to my surprise, the cold and nippy night had scared off the mosquito hordes, as I didn't see any. Subsequently, I had a rather nice walk around the area, spending an enjoyable three hours under torchlight before departing back home for a late dinner.
I thought this high difficult geocache may consume a bit of my time, but in the end, it wasn't too bad. As it turned out, it was an unexpected quick find, as the cache wasn't the most concealed. I could see what it probably once was with its camouflage, but it looks like it has probably come off with time. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Geolze and Landkg for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

No luck for us here today, after about 30mins we called it and decided to move on to the next one. One for another day.
Caching without Deet in the area should add a few DT stars to every cache.

Out caching with Karicka today. We had both failed to find this previously so I was happy when Karicka finally called “found it”. I’m not sure why it was so hard. Thanks for the cache
I came prepared... doused in vampire repellent... it wasn’t enough... went round and round for awhile... resorted to messaging a previous finder... no luck... another day... there will be plenty of reasons to return...
sadly did not find cache today....mosquitoes still out in force though, seemingly immune to bug-spray.
The mozzieS here are huge and ferocious, so fortunately this was only a 10 minute hunt. We won’t need to stop on the way home to get a transfusion. All good here. Log is only very slightly damp. TFTC
Back to clean this one up. Had DNF last time.

Tricky. Not sure the hint really helped us much and kids’ patience nearly exhausted, BUT we found it!
Out with Team Tyrrell and GeoNayfee for a paddle this morning. We came in and said hey there’s a few over there we can do. So we quickly packed up the gear and headed over to do three caches around the boardwalk. As geonayfee had done these already he decided to come along for the walk. I think he is regretting it now, as the mozzies were eating everything, we counted approximately 45 mozzies on his back at one point, while team Tyrrell was waving a branch around like a madman to keep them at bay. We grabbed all 3 caches and saw the tether for the now disabled cache.
A series of caches and a nice walk around shame about the mozzies even with spray on, LOL.
Thanks for placing them here.

Being in the area to sign the logs for a bunch of challenges we have completed, we were hoping to find the time to drop past and find a few traditionals. This was our eighth find for the day, and eleventh log signed. It was a rather frustrating hunt as the mosquitoes were ferocious, but in the end Mrs STW found it down in a surprising spot. We didn't find the clue helpful and still don't quite know what it means, though at least we didn't waste time looking in the obvious spot! It is certainly a tricky cache to find, so we were glad to drag it out after only about 15 minutes of looking (that would be about 15,000 mosquito bites!).
Thanks for the cache.

Today I was invited out by hatzofff and friends to go north to these wetlands to primarily log the month challenge caches.
The whole place was infested with Spiders, Mozzies and Kagaroos.
This one was a nightmare. We spent ages looking and then gave up. Then one of our PAFs came through with some advice. Another 10 minutes back at gz and Hatzofff had found it. Tftc and UTV

With today being a clear fine day, I thought I’d head on down to Tinchi Tampa Reserve to clear out a few Trads and sign the logs on some of the challenge caches in the area as well.
I spent a good 4 hours wandering the trails and I walked about 12 km’s in total (I’ll feel that in the morning) It was my first time coming here, even though I’ve lived in the area for the past 5 years. This is why I enjoy caching so much, it takes you places you wouldn’t usually visit.
The scenery was stunning, especially around the water and the amount of Kangaroos I saw was amazing! They would just sit and watch me until I got a little too close, then they’d hop along.
All in all it was a great afternoon hunting caches.
This one was driving me nuts! I had several more to grab after this one and the sun was setting shortly. After a lengthy search I eventually had cache in hand.

Part I of the Tinchi Tamba wetlands mystery tour On foot today but can see it may be quicker to come back with the bike and have another run at it Some of the trickier hides slowed me down.
Bowled out on the first pass and continued up the trail. Doubled back for another run at the wickets. Good coords and hint. Just need to dig in to score runs here.

My gps on new app is awful. Pointing me to opposite side of track than where map says cache should be. Another dnf.
Today we have spent our time in the wetland area, the mossies were hungry and the kangaroos are huge. SL TFTC
This one took us over an hour to find! We were determined not to leave until we found the cache. Finally after some poking and prodding we found a well hidden cache Tfth
Well! We may as well have set up a tent here, because we were searching for the best part of an hour. My fitbit tracker looked like an ant line underneath a scribbly gum by the time we had finished.
Lots of deciphering hints and scrutinising everything we came across, but in the end, we should have just gone back to our brains trust of previously found caches to help us along. Thanks for the caching spree throughout the wetlands, we will be back!

Today was another great Thursday Fun Day of caching in the company of barbbowman and Raynersinoz Today was the day that Raynersinoz wanted to try to complete the 25 Unique D/Ts in a Day Challenge, and of course barbbowman and Mrs Just a Trifle just had to join in for the fun
We managed to get up to all sorts of hijinks along the way on our adventure, and we found all but 1 of the caches on our list, plus a few extras that we came across while in the area. Mrs Just a Trifle was not able to find this cache last time she visited the area, but being here with two previous finders, the odds were finally in her favour.
