Logs
fitzy_1965 and I headed to the Lake Illawarra area to do some caching with friends for the Canberra long weekend. We signed our group as SHI (ShellHarbour Invasion) which consisted of Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and myself or if most had already found we signed our own names. It was a great few days away and lots of caches found. Thanks to the CO's for placement.
About 12m off. No log so added. Looking forward to a warmer weekend enjoying the lovely Wollongong area with Kittykatch, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and minniek. Signing Thanks for getting me out and about mccauley4
Chooo ooo [Found] on a quick trip down to Shell Harbour with dty73! Found with a bunch of other Canberra and local cachers! Signed SHI (Shell Harbour Invaders) cache about 10m out. Thanks mccauley4!
Find # 1219825/5/2024 16:18Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off as many on the solved pile as I can. Headed across to the coast for the long weekend to meet up with a few other CBR cachers. The main target is the SES series, having worked on these puzzles last year and gradually made the solves. Some with help and others straightforward. Either way it was an enjoyable series, generally. Now its time to collect. And of course with so many others to choose from in this area, its a busy weekend.Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun! The group consists of Joolay, KittyKatch, isopeda, minniek, fitzy_65, dty73, and Tankengine. Signing as SHIAll caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Log sheet replaced as old one disintegrated. Thanks mccauley4 for LIPT No:53
Tankengine and I drove down from Canberra leaving at 6:30am Saturday morning and joined our friends (Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, Isopeada, minniek and fitzy_1965) and we had become part of the Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). We could only stay one night, so up early Sunday for a quick bite to eat and more caching before we had to leave everyone to head home again. We had a fun time caching, logging many finds and a couple DNFs, enjoyed a lovely dinner at the very busy club at the great event on Saturday night and most of all hanging out with great friends. This cache: Found this one pretty far from the coords. And the log is mush. Added an extra piece of paper. Tftc!!!
Long weekend with Contesta, Kittykatch, Joolay, DTY73, Tankengine, fitzy_1965, and MinnieK with the main goal to finish the SES series. Signing as SHI - Shellharbour Invasion. The cache took a dive. The contents was mush, so we added a fresh log sheet. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Couldn't access the map location for this one so wasn't sure where we were looking.
Enjoyed this cache on the first caching adventure of 2024. This one took some time but was a great find. TFTC
#10036 (9 of 11 today)Go big or go home! So went big! Today is the only calendar day where I have under 20 finds, so looking to break this barrier. But why get one when I can get... well a lot more.Headed south to Dapto for today's finds, but looking to be back in Sydney for a 5:30 event I couldn't totally go to town. So started with a short bush trek, and then some other quicker finds for a total of ten, before the event made it eleven.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Quick find in an area the lantana and thistles seem intent on moving into.Beautiful container, but the plug is broken and not doing its job. Log too wet to sign, so signed a leaf instead.SLTNLNTFTC
Out on a Lake Illawarra SES clean up mission today. Lots of great Rats caches to collect on a perfect summers day.
Found this one quickly and then understood the hint. The container is worse for ware and the log is soaked.

Followed the narrow geotrail out to have CIH, it’s missing the cap, or snapped off should I say

A day out with Everest High to do a loop around Lake Illaware to find the SES caches from The Rats. When close to our route, we also picked up a few other caches.
It was a great day out; very hot but the cold seabreeze made the drive very pleasant.
Another cache that needs some maintenance. Log is wet, lid is detached,

The screw is cracking a bit but this was such a great find!! One of the best on this track, and the clue was spot on! Tftc!!!
Found it! The vegetation has gone a bit wild so wear long, thick pants or suffer thistles in the crotch like I did, haha.
After a second trip to this spot I found the actual cache, and what a cute camo! Log is brand new and totally dry, thanks for the cache/s!
Thanks for the cache, such a cute spot now council has cleared a bit of the scrub. Couldn't sign as unfortunately the log was soaked. Took a pic for proof if needed.
Edit: Changed 'found' to a note since being informed by cache owner that what I actually found was a previous cache that had been missing(!) so I'll soon be revisiting this spot to find the new/actually cache. Thanks to CO for quickly getting in contact and clearing things up!

Yessss so stoked to find a trickier bush bash type one. Cute container. Tftc
Found it after some looking, cache was broken and the container was not where it was meant to be, as we found the top part of it elsewhere, didn't have anything with us to fix it so we tied it all back together with some vines and put it all back where it belongs. A bit of duct tape will do the job.
Awesome cache though

Found with the geokid on a lovely spring afternoon bike ride. Log was a little bit damp, I think if you return it to it's position with the coordinates at the top it should help with this. TFTC!
Well enough off the track not to be noticed. The container is broken. I fixed it as best I could but a strong wind could dislodge it. TFTC
In the Illawarra to visit Mr Gaztek's mother and gathering a few geocaches before we return to Sydney. We found the object that the hint referred to but it is in very sad shape and had no contents. We inserted a new log and propped it up as best we could. After we left we looked at some previous logs and believe the 'innards' may be under that tree separated from the original container. Could use some attention. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Nice hide in plane site. My trusty geopen decided to stop working. So I’ve snapped a photo for proof of find. Nice walk along this track to snatch up a few finds. Highly recommend doing the walk
Sorry, I havent had a chance to check on this cache. Will place back online for now, if the next finder could send me a photo of their findings, i will make arrangements for maintenance accordingly. Thank you.
In pieces on the ground. Dubious as to whether the cachers before me even found it, or the previous one. No signature in this one.
Found both a snail and a big spider in the cache. Gave us a fright

Never has geocaching been so terrifying. There is a hole in the cache which made it home to a gigantic mean spider that jumped on me when I retrieved it. FINDERS BEWARE! TFTC
Find No.5227 while based in Kiama for a couple of days. We are on a mission to complete this SES puzzle art and a few other caches on our way. Nice quick find for us. A real live spider had taken up residence, so we served him/her an eviction notice.

While over from Tassie to attend the Gong OzGeo Muster 2019 myself and Goose of GooseandEgg we managed to polish off few series and grab some other random caches in our five days on the big island.
We flew out on Thursday night and arrived back in the apple isle late on Tuesday night, thanks for all the caches.
We normally try and get some old caches or D/T's we are missing but this time it was more about a couple of series and catching up with a few fellow cachers.

Circumnavigating the lake today with whitewebbs, Tassie Trekers and stainless steel rat collecting the SES puzzle series and anything we were close enough to grab. I would love to do this path by bike but as we didn't have any with us we walked.

Unfortunately, we haven't come equipped to complete this trail. We would love to come back and bring bikes to do so. Looks like it would be a fantastic series to complete. We managed to grab a couple in our travels whilst visiting. Thanks for the cache and reason for a future visit.
Caching day with Geofriends during Oz GeoMuster 2019, thank you mccauley4 so much for placing it for us to have fun.
Here at the Oz Geomuster, Found your cache today. mccauley4, thank you so much for placing it.
The journey to the mega resulted in a lot of driving, with a few select cache finds, due to the distance I had to travel. If only there was time to find them all! Once at “The Gong” as there are so many caches, yet again, sadly, only some could be attempted. Thanks for placing the cache mccauley4
out and about with AussieBen for the Mega Weekend doing lots of caches in the area thanks for maintaining
Down to the Mega early and eager to get started on ticking off all the must do items, including the SES series. I have been working on this series for a long time on and off knowing that one day I’ll be down this way. I am so excited to finally get it finished!

I got a bit of a scare with this cache. After getting to the GZ i located the container, grabbed it, opened the lid and cape face to face with a huntsman spider.
The spider ended up being highly tetchy and unwilling to move due to the egg sac it was guarding.
I was able to slip the internal container out and found a second fully grown huntsman clinging to it.
This one was more willing to move and i was able to sign the log.
Using sticks i was able to put everything back together and replace the cache with only the one nesting huntsman left in the lid.
Thanks.
