This was a good place to stop in and cook dinner. Had a train go past which is always great but a quiet place with just one camper off in the distance. Dinner sorted, cache found and off on the road northwards.Staying in Whyalla last night was a good opportunity to stock up before we head north. Coober Pedy was our target. After some local caches and shopping, it was on the road. Lots of earthcaches led us to many interesting locations. On a warm sunny day with temperates into the 30C also quite pleasant and not to warm. Great scenery, rock formations and even a FTF of a new virtual. Red banks was a fascinating location in Port Augusta, lucky for low tide to get there. Back out into the outback, amazing country and heading north. The day caught up with us and made camp about 2 hours south of coober pedy in a rest stop.
Day three of the road trip to Coober PedyLeft Woomera and headed north for the main aim of the trip, Coober Pedy. Found six traditionals and did an Earthcache before arriving in the opal town. Checked into a nice underground accommodation then headed out to cache. Wasn't expecting to, but managed to completely clear the area in, and just out of, Coober Pedy of all unfound caches for us both. Which, as neither of us have been to Coober Pedy before, was all of them. A great day of caching in a very unique area with a lot of interesting history. Celebrated by dining out then returning to the unique and interesting dugout to put our feet up.Found eventually. Thanks to thewhitedoggang for adding to the playing field with this cache.Smilie #15134.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*

Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case thewhitedoggang, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way from Adelaide to Alice Springs and we did a few nice caches.CO thanks for bringing us on this nice place and make this cache.
Found by The Empire + HThe journey from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy was an adventure like no other. As we left the coastal town behind, we ventured deep into the heart of the Australian outback. The landscape unfolded before us, a vast canvas of red earth and desert scenery. The road ahead was a marvel of straightness, disappearing into the distance as far as the eye could see. These long, straight stretches seemed to symbolize the boundless expanse of the outback, where the horizon met the sky in a seamless blend of colours. As we drove, we kept a watchful eye for wildlife that might venture near the road. Kangaroos, emus, and various bird species were frequent companions on our journey, reminding us that life in the outback was resilient and tenacious.A quick find here on the way back to the car. Thanks for the cache thewhitedoggang.- M
Travelling with iluvtrekking from WA up the coast to NT and down through the Centre to SA and back home over the Nullabor. After spending a couple of nights in Coober Pedy, we headed twds Woomera picking hides along the route. Quick find here thanks whitedoggang
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along the way. Moving day. Today, we are off to Roxby Downs. This is one of the caches we found on our route. Thanks, WDG, and we agree. There should be a cache in every rest area.
Heading towards Prominent Hill this afternoon, only time for a few quick caches along the way.
Find number 29698 for me.

This is my last cache for the day on my way to Coober Pedy. It is also a perfect place to camp for the night. I was hoping to see thousands of stars but the clouds just kept coming with showers of rain. I love the smell of rain in the Australian outback.
In the morning I found that a local mouse had decided to use the dog water bowl as a pool! GeoCleo was not impressed!

The three of us were heading north after spending a night in Roxby. We stopped here for a cache and a rest break. Teen Tardis found the cache in the first place he looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache thewhitedoggang.

Lovely spot for leg stretch.....found while listening to the birds sing on our wonderful trip up to Darwin....TFTC
Sir_spectre and I went on a long overdue holiday to the Northern Territory. We had some great experiences and saw some amazing natural wonders. Not all went to plan - covid closures, flood effected roads, renovations, hot weather, some car troubles and not forgetting the huge jump in fuel costs
Any caches that needed repairs were fixed and numeous logs were replaced or added too.
Thanks to thewhitedoggang from mogni

We came and made a quick find. Added log sheet.
Mogni and myself went to the Northern Territory for a 10 day holiday. We drove 5478 km's in those 10 days. The plan was to go up the Sturt highway and then go via Ayers Rock, King's Canyon and then through to Alice Springs stopping at the gorges/chasm/gaps along the way. As you can expect nothing goes to plan. Day 1 Adelaide to Cooper Pedy, made it just before the Roxby Downs turn off and blow the side wall on the tire of the 4x4, 193 km detour just to get a tire and even then it was the second tire place that had the tire the correct size. We had camels come in to the campsite in Erldunda Roadhouse, they even left hoof prints 1/2 a foot from the tent, at King's Canyon we had dingo's come through the camp ground both nights we where there and at Alice springs we had a mouse move in under the tent in their campground. Some of the aboriginal towns we passed where in lock down because of covid 19 so no going in to get fuel there, that changed some plans. The floods where way worse up in Northern Territory than i realized. Some creeks/rivers i could see the debris over 2 meters from the river bed and down one 4x4 track it washed the road away completely, the hole was 3/4 the length of the 4x4 and over 6 foot deep. The temp was 33 to 36 for 9 of the 10 days and finally cooled down for the drive home. We got 7 different caches types in the N.T. plus every different cache size. It was a good trip but not the one we planned. To many of the roads in the N.T. where damaged and not repaired ( still closed ) so that cancelled plan A but that's just a excuse to come back isn't it. Come back and see what you missed last time when the roads are fixed. We came with 19 regular " geocaching size " containers and a milk crate of small containers by day 7 all the regulars where used as replaced caches and by day 8 the smalls where gone. It was the UV rays a lot more than the floods that killed the caches and almost all the log books where saved, the micro containers seemed to have constantly full log sheets so they where replaced too.

No reception so navigation was difficult. Are not tall so this was a disadvantage. Still a good cache. TFTC

I used the hint to confirm where I thought the cache would be. Fortunately I am light, as what I climbed on did not seem too strong. Great spot for a cache.
I wasn’t the only person at this rest stop today, but nobody was paying any attention as I did the deed.
Thanks for the trip-breaker whitedoggang.

We were on our way home from Alice Springs and had pulled over into this rest area to camp overnight. It was only when we were heading off in the morning that I happened to look at the GPS when I was putting in our destination that I saw a green dot.
So of course I had to get out of the car and go and find the cache which was done easily after reading the hint.
Thanks for the cache thewhitedoggang (one I nearly missed.)

Finally, one that geoniece couldn't beat me too because she was just too short! We had a bit of a run around to find it, GPS was a bit slow. Geoniece was convinced it was the bin. I had a feeling it might be where it was and hopped up there, my hand landed straight on it as I stood up. A nice little find on our way home, something different.
Photo is a spoiler.

Nicely hidden. Just in case someone needs toilet paper these days: there is easily a roll flying around here TFTC
A short stop on our way to Coober Pedy o stretch the legs and to find the cache. Although the hint is clear, I had to look at several other spots. Just when Mum-Inegüxle was about to come for help, I found the box.
Regards from Switzerland.

We where all alone at this restarea. If anyone had used the table, we would not have been able to get to the cache.

Something about the day:

From october 16 to november 6 2019, my wife (lp.dk) and I visited Australia for the first time.
After a flight of more than 20 hours, we landed in Darwin. After 2 nights in the city we continued in a rented car first towards Kakadu National Park and later towards Alice Springs.
In Alice Springs we were picked up in an off-road bus and went on a 3-day trip into the wilderness, with overnight stays in a tent close to Uluru.
Back in Alice Springs we drove all the way to Adelaide, from where we flew to Sydney, where we visited our son who has settled there.
After 5 days in the city, we flew back to Singapore, which we visited for 2 days before the final flight back to Copenhagen.
In total, the trip lasted just over 3 weeks.
On the trip we would like to find / visit as many Earth caches, Virtual and Webcams as possible, but also the other kinds of caches when possible.
